I went in months later for routine maintenance. The same young men were much more engaged. Perhaps I caught them on a bad day before. I was offered a round trip to the Del Monte mall in Monterey, to pass the time. They have a nice cinema. My car was returned spotless. It has been a very difficult transition for me to drive an automatic after having stick shift my entire life. Coming to appreciate not having to shift when I get caught in heavy traffic. The car gets consistently, good mileage and has good acceleration with its 2 L turbo charged, electric motor, augmented engine. Only two features I do not like: The key fob- it does not open the car automatically as you walk up to it as with my last one and the button to open the trunk is very poorly placed. Far too often, I will come out of the store and find out trunk wide open. The Apple car play interface is very temperamental. However, I do really like the embedded screen. Rather than miany cars where it protrudes above the dashboard. read more

This place is is full of a bunch of crooks! They will literally make up stuff to charge you for! I worked on a customers car and they claimed I didn't plug in the plugs all the way which caused a short but there was no charge for parts just labor and that they had to rearrange wires. And just cleaning the plug fixed everything. That is pure BS! Cost of removing two panels at this place for that is apparently $500!!! How can you plug a plug halfway in and the windows and everything still work? All they had to do was reset the light on the car! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE FOR ANYTHING!!! Worst customer service time and time again. Anyone answering phones for service is beyond rude, lazy and absolutely clueless on how to be remotely nice or helpful. I bought a brand new Audi and you would think for the price I paid for the automobile, service contracts and extended warrantee, they would help me with any service and know what is and not included for what I paid. Well, no such luck. No one knows what you have, yet they can't share the info they do pull up. The actual people who service are great and fix what you need but whomever is supposed to book appts, help paying customers are insanely rude for no reason. I had to call 14 times between two dealerships to get a cracked windshield replaced. 2 people told me I had it covered in what I paid and 7 others said I wasn't covered and/or couldn't connect the dots even when I emailed them the info that showed I paid for a contract to cover this. I get better service and attitude paying for a $20 manicure than I cont to receive from a dealership where I sunk $90k at. A waste of time and infuriating to be treated so terribly, especially when I'm doing their jobs for them. Train your team please, this is making me fully regret getting an Audi and forced to put up with this. Update! Audi Monterey turned down the estimate from the ext warrantee contract I bought from Audi so they are refusing to replace my windshield. And after calling Catherine Bloom nicely (greeted with nastiness each time) on updates or what else I needed to do, she never had the courtesy of calling me back when they declined doing this service with my Audi bought contract. She snapped at me each time for calling 1-2 times a week because I didn't hear anything back from her and said she was "busy" with other customers and she would let me know, never did, not once. I had to find out from the extended warrantee contract team. Careful what you buy and where you buy from. I recommend going thru the YEARS of bad reviews to take into consideration before you give Monterey your hard earned business. Back in June, I decided to purchase a 2020 Audi R8. The first step in that process was choosing a dealership through which to place my order. I checked reviews online and chatted with a number of friends who had recently purchased Audis. Although small, Audi Monterey Peninsula repeatedly came up as highly recommended and just happened to be extremely convenient location-wise. From the very first phone call to the delivery of my R8 mid-November, Audi Monterey was FANTASTIC. My salesperson Ryan attended to my every need throughout the process and provided a wonderful purchasing experience. His enthusiasm for the brand was contagious. I never felt pressured to commit to more than I was comfortable with, and genuinely felt like Ryan and the dealer staff were just doing their best to get me into the vehicle that most perfectly suited my interests. I'd had good experiences at other Audi dealerships before the R8, but none came close to Monterey Peninsula in terms of customer focus and care. Bought the car last year around January, the sales rep was very pushy but I had no choice but to work with him. The process was relatively quick because I already knew what I wanted. Got into the finance room the experience was good overall and he sold me the extended package, but he told me that he'd give me an extra service on top of there was one free service that is left over on the Audi care package which was the one of the reason that pushed me to buy the package. I went to do the first service everything went okay, then now I'm doing my second service today and Audi said I have no more free services. So the finance manager lied to me. We bought a used Porsche from this dealership. It was aggressively priced and the options we were looking for so we were willing to drive from Sacramento. Joey was our sales rep and he was awesome. The car was as represented, fully serviced by them, and the buying process was quick and easy. Fast forward 1 month into ownership and we found ourselves having to put oil in it every 300 miles. Being a Turbo charged engine some oil consumption is normal, but this was excessive. We took it to our local Porsche dealer and they found that the last oil service was done with the incorrect oil filter and there was a fairly significant oil leak coming from the O-ring associated with it. We paid the almost $500 to repair it and the car is all good. I contacted Joey and sent him a copy of the repair invoice. Within a week they sent us a check as reimbursement. It's not always the good service that's important when everything goes well, but it is always when something doesn't go right. This is a stand up establishment. read more

He was polite, delightful and professional, but was busy the next morning with other customers. We had to test drive before Anthony was available so my son could go to work, so Alex stepped in. I asked if Anthony would still get credit, and he assured me he would. After returning from the test drive, we started the process to buy the car. In addition to the advertised price, the dealership adds an additional $1,400. Alex was unable to tell me exactly what the charge entailed. Apparently this is the invisible "clear coat" scam dealerships have been pushing since I started purchasing cars in the 1980's, and I said this was a deal breaker. The sale appeared to move forward, albeit at a snail's pace. No financing, we were paying cash, so why the wait? We waited for about two hours during which Alex carried on an in depth conversation with the windows washer while we waited and waited. After a while, I asked for the Carfax report and asked why the mileage was higher on the report than on the car. It was only 4,000 miles more, but the process instantly stopped as they said they are no longer able to sell the car. They were surprised at this, which was clearly a data entry mistake at the car's last service location. Alex said they would probably sell it back to the auction service because it takes six months to correct a Carfax mistake. Disappointed and with about two hours wasted; we left. Imagine my surprise to find a few days later, the car was still listed for sale on their website at an even higher price. Classic Bait and Switch: the customer is drawn to the dealership because of this advertised car, which is not available, but hey...we have other more expensive cars for sale! This is fraudulent. Before driving the Hyundai, I had met with Edrick at Cardinale Nissan to drive a Sentra. Edrick was delightful. He said to let him know if I was interested in any cars within his group. I misunderstood and thought he meant the Nissan dealerships within the Cardinale group. He called during the two hours of waiting at Cardinale Audi and I discovered my error. I felt bad because Edrick would make the car buying process delightful. Because the deal was dead at Audi, I contacted Edrick, and asked if there was any way he could sell me that car or one comparable. Frustrated and wondering if the Audi dealership simply refused to sell to me because I wouldn't pay for their $1,400 "invisible protection", I called the corporate offices, which in turn had Scott, the general manager of Cardinale Audi call me. Scott started the call on the offensive accusing me of playing sales people against each other. I asked why he raised the price of the car and kept it on the website if it was not available. He said he changes used car prices every day, but it was not available to buy. I asked if this was "Bait and Switch" and he became angrier and more offensive claiming I don't understand the concept of Bait and Switch; although I doubt its meaning has changed since studying for my Business Degree. We discussed the additional 1,400 "clear coat" charge. He said this is added to all the cars they sell, but is not reflected in the advertised price. I asked if customers have the right to refuse this scam, and he said they can refuse to buy the car. I asked why Alex refused to accept a certified check from Navy Federal Credit Union. To his benefit, Scott said they would have no problem accepting a certified check from NFCU. Alex would have had me bring a personal check or cash. Scott was angry and unpleasant, telling me I'm not the kind of customer he wants purchasing from Cardinale Audi (his words exactly). He only became less nasty when I said I will take the time to share my experience with others online. Because of this, he did offer to contact me when they are able to rectify the Carfax mistake. Online reviews are how we protect other purchasers from going through the same unpleasant experience. I have purchased many cars, most of which have been very pleasant in the past 20 years when most dealerships became more respectful of their customers. It's been over a week since I tried to buy the car, and it's still listed for sale on their website. read more

I had the pleasure of meeting Addison Lent, Audi Brand Specialist. I had purchased my A5 sportback in San Jose...(cringe) on July 4th, it is now Aug 11th. I was desperate for 'hands on' assistance with my MMI panel. When I took my brand new car home, I was not given a tutorial on how to use my MMI or the fact that I need to program the code in it (gave us the plastic key tag with code, without an explanation of what it was for). Next to nothing intro to my new vehicle. I decided to see what luck I could have going to another dealer (nowhere near my home). I walk in, Addison asks me if I need help? I respond "That depends, do you feel like being a HERO?!!" He smiles and hesitates....uhhh?!? I quickly let him know my situation. He says "lemme get this straight, you purchased your car at another dealership?" Wondering why I was there. Haha! Umm yea, I do not want their help in SJ. I am bitter. He begins with "come on, let's sit down at my desk". He immediately becomes my INSTANT hero. He goes into our file, decides to start over. He mentions that This MRY dealer is my new preferred dealer. I said..."exactly! Thank you!" He then asks me where my car is. He spends an hour with me, explaining how to use my MMI, or what he could at least in such a short time. Programs my key code. He also stumbled in to a computer app glitch himself. He begins to tell me that this process was not user error. The process was not started correctly. So I was not going crazy, AND It was not me/user error. He began to get frustrated. He had to call Audi support himself for help. We did not get to fully indulge in my Audi functions, lack of time. But I did drive away a little happier for the 'hands on' attention. I just MAY drive ALL the way to Monterey for service now. We live in San Jose. Thank you Addison! Worst dealership experience ever. Avoid this place if possible. This dealership is the true definition of accommodating customers before the sale and completely disappearing after the sale. Scott Knight, the general manager was cc'd in all saved communications, "has 100% knowledge of all that is going on" but when asked, has no idea and the only excuse I was given was that the original sales person I worked with is no longer with them. If the general manager doesn't care about you, then I'd be cautious to go there. It's definitely worth the drive to go to a different Audi dealership. read more

We've purchased two cars from and serviced by Audi Monterey since 2017. Our experience with Manny, the service advisor, has always left us with a great amount of confidence whether for a scheduled service or repair. Manny, along with his colleagues, make scheduling appointments seamless and will provide a loaner vehicle when needed. On those occasions prior to a road trip, they'll always make time to check our tire pressures, tread wear and fluid levels so we can 'hit the road' safely. My wife and I have nothing but kudos for Manny and highly recommend him for maintaining your Audi by company standards. read more

Scheduling of appts must be fine tuned.... My son Called in to make appt and was told car work would take only two hours. When I took car in at 11:00 was told car won't be ready until 3:00 or 4:00. Car wasn't ready until 4:30. That's 5.5 hours of wait time not 2 hours as originally promised. I wasn't aware they have loaner cars nor was I offered one. If offered I wouldn't have to wait. I asked for a ride to the beach where I was going to wait. At 3:14 I called in to ask to be picked up because my car was to be ready the latest as 4:00 so I wanted to be at shop. I wasn't picked up until 4:25 then had to wait for my car to be driven up front. When I did walk up to the car it was still wet with drips of water all around Detail job was not up to par. I guess that's why they put on receipt $39 car wash was free. The service rep was nice and courteous but I think the person making appointments needs to organize a bit better. I shouldn't have had to wait for 5.5 hours for a total labor of .5 hours. read more

Don't know where to start. Horrible service and a dishonest general manager (Scott) who runs the place. Me and my wife went to test drive a car they had in stock and we ended up purchasing it. They said, we couldn't use financing through external bank and they would not honor the 1.49% advertised APR by Audi as they honored some special pricing. We had no choice but to purchase with cash to refinance right after getting license. The dealership screwed up and put title under "Audi financials" instead of our name. After dozens of calls, Scott gets back and takes no accountability for the error made and offers $100 compensation for the increased interest rate we have to suffer by waiting for new license plates to arrive. We are loosing about $5,000 due to interest rate increase between December and when we might receive new registration. AVOID this place, reviews here say it all. read more
