I waited to post this to make sure what I got was the real deal and it is!!! Dave and Sound Xpression are the real deal as well. I was lucky enough to find a mint 2018 Infiniti Q60 Sport Coupe RWD. Got a tune, cat back exhaust and cold air intakes done and car is a beast but the interior display is lame as you all know. I wanted to upgrade what shows on the display so looked at the Unavi Apple CarPlay for INFINITI Q60 2014-2019 | Wired & Wireless. So the display looks great with Apple CarPlay and so much more. It has Siri!!! I can ask directions, play any song/album I want and all my calendar reminders, text messages and phone calls are within a Siri request or touch or I-Knob! It is worth ever penny and I owe it all to Dave with Sound Xpression. He explained things well and did a perfect install! Everything works great and my mint center console is still mint! I was concerned about the install and something happening to my interior but it's perfect! One minor head's up, there is a slight lag when you first start the vehicle but it's short and not a big deal. Also, it might take a little getting used to changing map view to get the CarPlay apps display up. Going between cameras (front/rear) it took me a few tries to figure out that the CarPlay was working but I had the wrong camera on my display and just needed to press the button and now I'm a pro! I spent a total of appx $1100 for the Unavi, the I-knob and install and it is well worth it. I am beyond pleased with the work Sound Xpression did for me. I have a 2017 Nissan Armada and wanted to retro-fit Apple CarPlay into the navigation system. I found a product that seemed interesting made by Unavi and called Sound Xpression to see if they could install it. At the time, it wasn't available for my year and model car. They promised to call me back if and when it became available. They called back after a couple of months, said it was available and we scheduled the installation. The installation was done neatly and cleanly, Dave was extremely friendly and helpful and I am very happy with the work they did. Dave noticed a mess I had with wiring for a dashcam I had installed and cleaned that up for me by installing additional power ports in a hidden area. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with Sound Xpression. Now, for the Unavi CarPlay module. I've found this to be a good middle ground between having no CarPlay module and one that is factory integrated. Because it's not fully integrated with the system, there are a couple of nuances to learn regarding its usage. The nuances aren't difficult to learn and it's not much different than a unit that is fully integrated but the differences are there. Sound Xpression explained the differences to me and I'm very happy with the unit, its integration and its utility. I give Sound Xpression 5/5 stars and the Unavi module 4/5 stars. read more

Sound Xpression completely replaced the factory model radio (it only did CDs and radio) the next day, after I came in looking for a quote. I bought a 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT, and they didn't have the available parts needed at the store, but the person quoting me actually called around to see if any of the other locations had the parts! I had gotten installed a touch screen control panel along with the front speakers replaced. The whole time they had my car, they also called and updated me on the progress. They also offered different options, like steering wheel sound control, Apple Car Play, even a backup camera! I was so overwhelmed with options, but there was no pressure at all. Sound Xpression is cool.... I have mixed feelings though. I'd give them 5 stars for service, but maybe only 2.5 on price. That averages out to 3.75, so I'm rounding up. I went in there some weeks back to buy a new car stereo without doing any homework beforehand (shame on me). That's something I really don't like to do, but because of circumstances that day I pretty much had to. I guess there's no better way to judge a company than by how they treat customers who are completely at their mercy. That was my situation, and here are my thoughts: Knowledge- Seemed like they really knew their stuff. This is the kind of place you go to 'pimp out' your car stereo system. I just needed a deck, so I was probably lightweight for them. They recommended Pioneer to me exclusively--so much so that I wondered if they even carry other brands (they do). I would have liked to see more choices, but I figured Pioneer must have been the only thing in my price range (?). Installation- Although not speedy, it was started immediately, and I appreciated that. Took quite a while for them to just swap out decks--about 2 hours--but the end result was a quality job, so I'm not complaining. Furthermore, installation was $60, so $30 an hour for some of the "industry-leading" installers doesn't seem that bad to me. Price- I had a feeling I was paying a little too much, but it was a now-or-never situation, so I had little choice; I bought it. I did some research later and discovered I paid full retail. Not the end of the world, but it almost seems antiquated these days to charge full price on anything...there are just too many options out there for consumers. The actual market price for the deck I bought was roughly 20% off of MSRP. Again, not the end of the world, but I'd imagine that shrewd retailers would be aware of market prices and adjust accordingly. Overall, I'd recommend this place for installation hands-down. As far as purchasing items...maybe if you did your homework and presented to them your other options for purchasing at more competitive prices they'd come down a bit? Not sure. But, it wasn't a bad experience at all. I'd recommend Sound Xpression to someone else looking for a car stereo, but I'd tell them to do their homework first. I had a bunch of stuff just sitting around collecting dust. Not just any "stuff" either. About 7 grand worth of subwoofer, amps, components, an enclosure for the sub, tons of 2/0 OFC without terminated ends etc. As well as tons of connections and a head unit. After talking with Dave and realizing that he definitely knows his stuff I brought my vehicle to him. Well, the enclosure I bought wasnt fitting but no worries because Dave went ahead and built my sub an enclosure that's custom made in two separate sections then once in the trunk, its bolted together. Super sturdy and rugged. The enclosure sounds amazing and built so strong. Easily handles the 4,000rms watts the sub is on. The extra batteries were mounted as well as all the 2/0 OFC ran and the ends terminated like a pro. The head unit looks absolutely flawless and I couldnt believe that I was hearing my car once I got the call that it was finished. Dave knows his stuff and the work is flawless. Everything is so clean, neat and organized. He continued to keep me informed on the progress up until the job was done. I paid for quality and you get what you pay for. Its definitely high quality and the work is done with attention to detail like it was their own vehicle. I've gotten nothing but compliments on the outcome and the amps where tuned with the appropriate devices so it's all clean power with no distortion. I seriously couldnt have asked for more and highly HIGHLY, recommend checking them out if you have a car audio build planned. I looked for 3 months and nobody was down to take on my request. Dave was like "this is what I do!" And got it done way beyond my expectations. I love it and will be back indeed. read more

When I was shopping for an alarm and stereo system for our crossover, I happened to walk in this place and decided they would be earning my business. I am very picky when it comes to installers for car alarms and car audio. They do prominently show Rockford Fosgate, but carry brands like Morel. They already understand I am not a neophyte when it comes to car audio and understand my pickiness quite well. They are very knowledgeable when it comes to their products and will work with you. Their installation shop was one of the cleanest I have been in. I have seen some shops with stuff strewn all over the floor which does give a less than favorable impression. read more

I just picked up a new (used) car a few months ago, and the CD-changer nastiness has been bothering me for a while, so I decided to finally get one installed. I'm not really a big music listener in the car, so things like having a good speakerphone were more important to me - I found these guys on Yelp, they were close, and said they could do the install this afternoon. Went over about 1pm to check out the head units they had available, they didn't have the exact unit I was leaning towards, but the one they did have had all the features I was after plus was about $50 less than the other. They started work on my car, during which I decided I would like to have the iPhone connection in the armrest which made things a bit more complicated. All in all the install was probably one of the more painful ones because my car isn't the easiest to work with, but they did a great job, and went the extra mile that probably no one else notices (like spray painting the metal head unit tray black, JUST IN CASE, somehow someway you could see it. Definitely a great shop, and I'll be going back to get my laser/radar detector installed later. ;) read more

After doing some research and visiting several facilities, I decided to use these guys for a navigation system install on our new RV. David was very knowledgable on what would work and keeping the install clean looking. We also had to integrate a monitor and surround system in the RV that would receive its DVD input from the NAV system. It took them about 5-6 hours to complete the work and all went well. The next week, we began trips to Yosemite, Grand Tetons and Yellowstone over a month long period. Everything worked perfect. The satellite radio reception was exceptional considering some of the canyon / blocked areas we travelled in. I would not hesitate to use them again. Highly recommended. read more

I'll start by saying that I worked with Dave and he was perfectly nice, and I left pleased with the outcome. Now I'll get in to why I gave them 3 out of 5 stars. Keep in mind that this is all being done in a project truck with no interior in it. The only thing installed was a bench seat that was not bolted down and door panels that also had no screws in them, just pressed on. Super easy and the only thing needed was a pair of wire crimpers. Really it comes down to cost. I came in with a simple problem. I needed a thicker wire installed on the tweeter side of my component speakers, along with setting my equalizer. For this I was quoted $100. I was a little surprised by that, honestly I was expecting closer to half that, but whatever, I decided I was there and to just do it. Dave then asked if I wanted him to mount the tweeters in a more permanent way. I said sure, he tacked on another $25 for that. After the work was done, the stereo sounded like it should, so like I said I left with the goal met. Today I pulled my door panels off (where the tweeters are mounted) and his permanent mounting was just adding some hot glue to the back. So he basically charged me $25 to reach over for the hot glue gun. *note to Dave: this would have been a great opportunity to earn a customer. You could have mounted the speaker you were already working on for no cost or time to you and impressed me by saying "I just went ahead and took care of that" * Another small complaint is he left the wire to one tweeter so short that I can't really get the passenger side door panel off anymore since the tweeter is glued to it. Again, he was a nice guy and I walked away pleased with the outcome. The only reason I'm being this critical is because I was charged $130 after tax for an hour of very easy work. In hindsight I should have just thanked him for his time and done it myself, but it is what it is. So there it is. Nice guy, work was fine, but I'd be a little reserved on going here if I had anything more involved to get done. They could wring your pockets out. read more

My 2004 Honda Odyssey has a very low hard to access cigarette lighter located about an inch above the floor. It was flawless experience. Had them install a new head unit, backup camera and remote start. They charge more than other shops for the remote start install and there's a good reason for that: they solder all of the connections, which is the best type of connection you can make. (and it also takes the most time) I will gladly pay a little extra to ensure a high quality install. The rest of their prices were fair -- not the cheapest, but also not the most expensive. And their work was top notch. When I picked up the truck, there was one significant issue -- they didn't balk about it or try and deflect it -- they simply broke out the diagnostic tools and fixed it. The results are fantastic and everything works as it should. Highly recommended if you desire a quality installation at a fair price. read more

I had a list of priorities that were important to me which included using as much of the factory installed peripherals such as mic, GPS and XM antenna, factory controls, already installed back-up camera and I wanted the install to be clean and OEM looking. David and his team were able to accommodate everything on my list. He was clear that he could not guarantee everything upfront (which was fair and honest), but would try, and indeed he was successful. These guys are amazing top quality techs. They have done an amazing job dealing with a new auto-start install in a new car which had a number of technical issues that involved them contacting the maker of the auto start and updating software and getting it working. Through no fault of Dave's and his techs they have had to remove the auto start as it is not as compatible with my car as it was believed. His Customer service has been amazing and that is what matters most. I just needed a basic 2 way alarm installed. They quoted me a price over the phone and stuck with it. If you value your automobile don't trust it with Best Buy or Audio Express. The alarm was installed quickly (4 hours) and they took the time to hide the components. The only thing I didn't expect was the receiver to be taped (two sided) to the inside of my windshield. I understand this is the best location for reception so no big deal. Guys are friendly and have plenty of good products to choose from for audio, video and security.
