Great place for drinks and food. I've only been here a few times but this time left an impression that will get me back here for sure. My friend and I ordered a few cocktails, beer and a glass of the chianti and all were definitely worth recommending. We also got the calamari which was delicious. What really made the difference was the service. Both bartenders that served us were attentive and personable and we couldn't have asked for more. Since the new ownership of this place has taken over they've done wonderful things. The most impressive is the renewal of a great interest in the bar and cocktails. The menu has improved immensely as well. I love to go to the bar with a friend, drink some cocktails and share a bunch of stuff of the menu. Friend and I came here for a late lunch on a quiet weekday. The drink menu was very nice. Short but good selection of draft beer and interesting cocktails. My pull pork sandwich was pretty good paired with a refreshing red cabbage slaw. I wouldn't say that food was especially awesome but it is fresh and solid plus the atmosphere is chill and staff really nice. I went to BU but hadn't been back to Audubon for years. Yesterday (Saturday), my friend and I stopped by for brunch and it was so nice! We ordered (and split) the breakfast flatbread and burger. The burger was especially delicious - cooked perfectly (med. rare) and the maple aioli sauce was AMAZING. Really, really great. Our server was also terrific. He suggested I try a new cocktail I hadn't tried making yet, and then comped it from our bill just because I wasn't totally obsessed with it - even though I'd drunk the whole thing, anyway. I've been a fan of Audubon for many years. I liked its subtle decor, solid menu with comfort food and back in the day, amazing service. So when I heard it was under new management, I figure I'd give it a go. The decor is pretty much the same (minus the pointy table). Service is good. But the menu is disappointing. Excellent little place in a great location. I hadn't been to Audubon in years, then went last night with a large party. They were really accommodating to the large group, even though we were really late for our reservation. The menu is very simple but has nice variety and creative meals. We had the Special Pizette and a bacon jalapeño swiss burger. The pizette was a perfect light meal, a crispy flatbread with goat cheese, fig, and balsamic vinigar. The burger was a little small, but very tasty and juicy. The beer/wine/spirits list was pretty extensive with good variety our table mostly had beer but the couple mixed drinks seemed to be done well. The service was excellent and even broke thier "2 credit card only" rule for us. I will be going back. read more

First off.. absolutely lovely interior, very nice service and the backyard is super cute and quiet. The food was meh. I think they're trying so I'm optimistic but my experience was not so hot. Veggie burger is homemade, and I tasted rice in it which is nice but it was covered in the sauce so it was hard to get any flavor. Also, they should work on a kids menu.. even 3 options would be good because there is none right now. Plus, no dessert? what's up with that? Sorry Audubon.. Omg was this place good! The mussels are amazing and in a delicious spicy red coconut curry sauce. I was licking the bowl. Then we had the jerk mahi mahi. This was seasoned to perfection, with a delicious but slightly sweet red beans and rice and topped with mixed greens. I can't wait to go back it was all so amazing! read more

Great menu with a nice spread. There's definitely something for everyone on their menu which makes it perfect for groups and picky eaters. I also love that you can easily order an entire meal here or just a few bites - and the prices are really reasonable. Great bar with a nice selection of wines and beers, as well as a full bar. I'm not a cocktail drinker so I can't speak to the cocktails, but the wines I've had are really nice. Service has always been on point - super friendly and accommodating bartenders and wait staff. read more

Great spot, love that the vibe is more Brooklyn than "Boston bro," and in this neighborhood it's great to have alternatives to that. Great service and great decor. The food is excellent. Very good shishito peppers, although I've never had them with sauce before, but it works. The turkey cubano is great, and it's hard to imagine anything on the menu being a disappointment. I was a fan before they switched management and changed the menu up, and I'm an even bigger fan now. The food is always solid and they have a really good variation in the menu for people who want healthier options and ones that want something a little sluttier. I like the minimalistic decor and ambiance, and the bartenders are always super nice and friendly; me and my husband are in here often and they always recognize us, say hello and make a little small talk. I have loved this place since the old owners, I think I love it more now! My favorite reason to love it is the minimalistic decor, the abundant bar seating and what I consider the best bar food in Boston. I don't even like bars, but this one really really does it for me. It's also a great place to grab lunch or dinner after visiting the MFA or the Gardner museums. I noticed on my last visit that the bar tenders were doing some creative mixology, but not in a pretentious way at all, so next time I'll be sure to try a cocktail! read more

Always good food, and usually friendly people. However, today I have to dock one star because my waitress was really rude to me. I was in a hurry at the end of my meal, so I figured I'd walk up to the bar to pay just to make things easy and quick. I was trying to be polite, and I didn't mean any criticism - I just figured it'd make it easy for them as well. When I started walking over the waitress scowled at me and said "I'll bring it to you." I smiled politely and said okay. Then across the room I saw her and the chef looking over at me as she said in reference to me loudly "DRAMATIC MUCH?!" I Don't know what her problem was, I was just trying to be nice. Don't treat your customers like this, we're not here for you to unload on. I work in the service industry too. Have a little professionalism. Despite this, the bartenders are usually really friendly. read more

I was stood up for a date, only to reach into my purse to pay for the drink I ordered while waiting at the bar and discover I left my wallet at the office and had no way to pay for it. The bartender was so sweet and took care of the drink. It was my first time in the space, which is adorable, and the drink was awesome with a ton of great sounding options I didn't get to try. Solid option in the neighborhood. This place really shines on a warm summer night when it's just a teeny bit out of the way of the crowds at Fenway. The space is cool - a little on the dark side, spacious, unique finishes. If the weather allows, take advantage of the awesome patio in the back. It's a small space, but surrounded by ambient-ly lit bamboo that gives it a unique feel. The cocktail program consists of a lot of staples and a few interesting options, all very well executed. As far as food goes, the BLT spread is delicious; the flounder is my entree of choice. The burger is very under-rated; well prepared by itself, lots of interesting topping options too. read more

My girlfriend and I stopped in for lunch on a Friday. I'd love to stop back the next time we're in town. I had a bottled cocktail with St. George's gin and yellow chartreuse that might be the perfect carbonated cocktail for Summer 2015. The food menu is very french inspired. And, if you are thirsty, try the Half Moon Buck beverage. Superb gin-based drink but without that over-sugared, forced mixed-drink taste you can get at other bars. Overall, good experience on an early summer day. Service was good and attentive. Waitress was very good, knew her drinks, and took good care of our party of 3. The Grilled Avocado app was interesting with the furnishings on top of it. I got the special, the steak tips, and it was good but not incredible. Portion was a bit small, but relative to the price. A large group of us BU Alumni Relations & Development folks descended upon your establishment the Audubon Boston on a whim after a gathering on the rooftop of the School of Business. Your team whipped together a large table on the patio and we were so well treated and "hydrated." It was a gorgeous August night with bamboo & strung lights. I called ahead at about 6:30 pm on a Saturday to inquire about the wait time for a table out on the patio. I was told that there was currently no wait, but that they have a strict policy that tables on the patio are for dinner service only (i.e. can't just order drinks). This was fine by us because we were hoping to get dinner. We arrived about 20 minutes later and were told by the hostess that the patio was now full, which is totally understandable, and we were fine to wait for an available table. However, after asking what the wait time would be, the hostess said she could not give us a wait time as people were "just chilling" out on the patio. This made no sense, because I had just been told on the phone that patio space was for dinner customers only - and so shouldn't they have at least an idea of what a wait time would be? We were really turned off by the idea of indefinitely waiting for others to be done "chilling" and decided to go elsewhere. read more

We've been to the new Audubon twice for lunch and loved it both times. On both visits, it was not busy--late lunches on days when there were no Sox games. The greeting was warm and the service excellent. We split some dishes, and they divided the orders and plated them beautifully in the kitchen. Why don't more places do this? I hate when a restaurant plops a salad down in the middle of a table expecting us to divide it up with a fork. I digress. We have had a few things now and all were yummy and the portions are more than ample. Favorites were an open-faced crab melt and their version of a BLT, a cheesy delight on a ciabatta roll. We also loved the grilled peaches! I don't care for Kale, but my Kale-loving pal raved about her enormous Kale salad. The prices are reasonable, and it's cozy. The old Audubon was very good, but they've really kicked it up a few notches with a more varied and well-executed menu. read more

Wow this was a letdown. We ordered the olive spread and BLT spread with pitas. The spread were bland and the pitas were burnt. In fact, bland seemed to be the reoccurring theme throughout the dinner. We also ordered the yuca cakes -- again, nothing special. The asparagus salad was decent and the corn husk flounder had the most flavor. I just came back from there. I've never written a review before now. I needed $40 in change. Instead of just giving me two $20 bills, A Mr. Devo gave $40 worth of fives and singles! Quality Human-Being right there. It made my night. The menu is interesting and the drinks menu is very self-aware--doesn't take itself too seriously, but at the same time doesn't subscribe to some pastiche of overly-ironic hipster b.s..
