I'm impressed! We came here for the first time and ordered taro fresh milk tea with boba. The drink was good- it had real taro and chewy boba (not mushy like some other places we've tried). Looking forward to coming back and trying other flavors. The only thing is they seem to have a lot of mobile orders. I visited an Auntie Jenny location around 8:30 PM and saw a sign advertising a $2 discount for app orders. There was no notice that app ordering closes early, so I ordered in-store with the app. After dealing with a clunky UI and missing payment options (Google Pay/Venmo listed but unavailable), the app set my pickup time to the next day. There's no cutoff warning, and these orders just get pushed to tomorrow, which feels misleading and straight up disrespectful. I had to manually cancel my drink with the manager(who was on the phone with a customer complaining the same app order issue), after waiting for her to get off the phone, and she said "you heard me on the phone with this lady, what do you want?" Well go put a sign on the QR code with a disclaimer about the order time? read more

Signed up for the first time bonus on the app and when I ordered it showed my pick up time as next day even though there was an hour before closing. It did not warn me before I ordered that online ordering closed much earlier than in person, and I had to wait 30 minutes for the manager to cancel my order manually. I go to order and it's not even that crowded. You would expect that your order would be done within at least 30 minutes or less. It took one hour for two teas and a frozen drink. The frozen drink was melted by the time we got our number called, the tea was bitter even when we got the recommended. You also can't put boba in your drink, it comes in a container on the side. I asked them multiple times when my order would be ready and they told me 15 minutes, it was another 30 after. read more

This place is really overrated. Milk tea was bland, grape tea tasted like syrup mixed with water. Service was slow. They made several drinks of the same type rather than do it by order. If you order 4-5 drinks all different, expect to wait 40-50 mins since you placed the order. Save yourself some time and money and go to Omomo instead. read more

Wish I could leave a 0 star review. This place is genuinely ridiculous. There are 6 people behind the counter not counting those in the back. I have been waiting 30 minutes for 2 drinks. Only 3 other customers in the store. It seems as though they are prioritizing online orders or something like that. If they have that many orders it would make sense that they would be a lot more quicker and efficient making drinks but NOPE. A lot of the workers having conversations, joking, wiping things that are already clean. How can you have 6 workers on the clock making drinks and still be slower than half the boba spots here in Irvine that only ever have 3-4 people on shift. This was the craziest tea shop experience I've ever had. We waited in line for drinks (which is fine) but then we waited over an hour only to have them kick everyone outside at 10:30pm to wait for drinks! Then they said our drinks would take another 40 minutes to make! So we asked for a refund, which they gave. It was unbelievable to the point of being funny. I waited 45 minutes for 4 drinks. The staff was concentrated more on online orders while the amount of people waiting in store kept increasing. I waited 30mins for my number to pop up in the "in progress" display and noticed numbers after mine were being worked on. I asked about my order. I was told they were working on it. It took another 15mins to get to order. The place was packed, and the online orders were piling up. Unfortunately, the taro milk tea tasted like watered milk and grainy taro. The strawberry daifuku lacked flavor. Three drinks ($24.00) ended up in the trash! The mango pomela was the only one worth keeping! I won't be returning. read more

Unacceptable service and there is no justification for the environment they put themselves in. Ordered online at 8pm on a Saturday and the app says it would be ready in 45 minutes. Great! I get there at 8:45 and it's still not ready according to the app. Oookay... I wait for a bit more. I look out and my order number isn't on the screen. Weird but okay. Around 20 minutes later I call and ask about the status, and they said they are still making it (which actually was a lie!) I let it be and just sit on my phone. Eventually it is 9:40 and I am fed up and I go inside and it is a MESS. Receipts and order tickets are overflowing from the printers, pickup drinks aren't organized and the workers are actively trying to find them. I ask one of the workers on the status of my order and she starts digging through tickets. And lo and behold they lost my order through their mess. No sorry, no apology, all they did was reprint it and got it made for me. If I never came in and asked about the status I would have never gotten my drink. While I should have checked on my order sooner, their inaccuracy and horrible management makes mistakes easy to happen. Drinks were okay. Nothing special really. I understand possibly waiting and the hype around these new tea places, but losing orders and not setting up a system that's organized is just setting you up for failure. Turning off online orders when it's busy can fix 90% of the problems. I'll be going to heytea until then. read more
