I walked to the counter and ask for my missing item. Well, I finished my plate and it never showed up. I walk back towards the counter with my plate ready to go into the trash. They see my sad face and another employee asks what's wrong. Shocked that there was any language barrier; I mean Guacamole. She then asked me what my ticket # was. No clue; selected no receipt when I ordered. Recap, not that hard to serve this cuisine on one plate. Food is NOT worth nearly double what Taco Cabana charges for basically the same plate. Plus, if you don't get what you ordered and you don't have an extra 30 for a refund talk you're SOL.

Unfortunately, this location is not living up to those standards. The biggest issue is the tortillas. On multiple visits, they have been undercooked, almost raw. I ordered an egg, bean, and ham taco that was overfilled, and because the tortilla wasn't fully cooked, it became soggy and fell apart. The same happened with the barbacoa taco. Even the bean and cheese taco, which should be simple to get right, was ruined by the raw tortilla. The pico de gallo tasted old and not fresh. The onions from the salsa bar are also frequently slimy, which is very concerning from a quality standpoint. This review is coming from someone who genuinely loves Taco Palenque and grew up eating it in Laredo. It's disappointing to see the quality decline this much. I hope ownership and management take these concerns seriously and focus on quality control because this is not the Taco Palenque many of us know and love.
