Food was...basic...kinda bland actually and not the place to go if you're looking for traditional Hawaiian local flava. We ordered the roasted pork loco moco and the saimin and as soon as I saw it, I already thought, I'm not gonna like it because the pork was dry and the gravy was see through and gelatin looking not dark brown thick gravy and the flavor was bland. The saimin was the same. Tasted watery. I will say the the serving size was good! One thing my husband and I look at at restaurants is cleanliness of the condiment containers. The Kikoman soy sauce bottle was clogged on one side and the hot sauce bottle tip was dirty! Those should be cleaned daily! I don't think we'll be going back. Had lunch today at Auntie's Cafe and it was a great experience. Ordered a TNT Fried Chicken with Bacon Fried Rice and Potato Salad. The server was friendly and the food came out hot. It's a small restaurant but great Hawaiian selections to choose from for breakfast and lunch. read more

Talk about aloha! I walked into the restaurant and was greeted by Brad. He thought I was Kama Aina and asked what I wanted, this was my first visit here. I looked at the menu and "locked on" the Portuguese mix plate. Ordered the plate and of course had a can of Hawaiian Sun. Sat down and Brad was talking story with some others. Nice to hear restaurant management mingling wit da locals (kama aina) He did mention the food was made to order and used da best ingredients for each plate/ recipe. My food arrived. I was torn about giving them a 3 or 4, but even though they have a very friendly and helpful staff, some of the dishes need improving to get the higher score in my book. Parking is great because it's located in a big strip mall. Plenty of seating inside when we got there at 11:30 am on a Saturday and it never really got super packed. Had the TNT chicken bowl with broccoli garnish and bacon fried rice. Glad I got the bowl and not the plate because the sizes seemed about the same-- generous portion. The chicken was good-- crispy and piping hot, with a nice teriyaki flavor. The fried rice had a good flavor, but it was too salty, especially since the bacon added saltiness already. Hubby had the Aloha Royal. It was a very pretty dish, but the rice was mushy. Yuck. The Royal part was okay-- generous with the char siu and Portuguese sausage. Hubby said the mac salad was okay We forgot to check in when we ordered, but the cashier was nice and let us check in after the fact for the free spam musubi. The rice was perfectly cooked, but my musubi had a big rip in the nori. It didn't affect the taste of course, but I'm being particular because I make musubi at home all the time. Didn't particularly care for the teriyaki sauce on the musubi-- it was too sweet. I think I would still come back to give some of their other dishes a try, but hopefully they get the white rice consistency down for the Royal and dial down the salt on the bacon fried rice and fix the sweetness of the teriyaki sauce on the musubi. read more

Bacon fried rice has so much flavor (and not even greasy). TNT chicken has a lot of flavors, and omg their homemade sausage !!! I also tried the spamasubi and it's good! I'm so happy I found this place while visiting Torrance! Would definitely come by again if I'm ever in the area. Huge portions and really affordable prices, but the flavor is everything! The loco moco has thick patties and the gravy is super rich- not overly salty. Fried rice and aloha royal was deliciousss. The chicken karaage was juicy and seasoned really well. I wish I could have ordered more! Macaroni salad was on the heavier side, but I like it that way. This place feels homey, got a lot of good vibes, and the playlist was hella chill. Food and service was really good! Girlfriend and I stopped by for a lunch, and were left speechless by how good this restaurant is! She got the teriyaki beef which she rated a 10/10 for being so tender and flavorful, whilst I had the Aunties Fried Chicken which was kinda sweet but super flavorful and crispy which was a 10/10 as well. We also both loved the macaroni salad as well! Has to be our new favorite Hawaiian restaurant for sure. Can't wait to taste other meals when I'm back in the area. read more

My son is a spam musubi aficionado so as a special treat just for the two of us today, I ordered Hawaiian food to round out his musubi experience. He also loves Mongolian beef I personally love fried chicken as well as pulled pork so the Neil's plate was ideal for both of us. I wasn't sure how big the portions would be plus I promised him spam musubi so I ordered three total two for him and one for me. It turns out that they are very large - a good handful size. But we each got to try all three of the meats on Neil's plate plus I splurged and got the bacon fried rice. I love the Mac salad that comes with it. It had additional texture besides just plain macaroni salad - maybe a little bit of potato. I really loved the flavor of the pork. It falls apart in your mouth and the taste is very subtle but very Hawaiian. I felt like I was at a luau when I was eating it. I absolutely love the fried chicken because somehow it is super crunchy but also still really tender. The Mongolian beef was delicious with the peppers and the meat. I was in the mood for island fried chicken and decided to give Auntie's a try. I ordered the island fried chicken, @ fish sandwich and an extra side of Mac salad. The fish was nice and crispy but lacking in flavor. No problem that tartar sauce can't fix. The chicken was fresh, sweet ,flavorful and had the perfect crunch. Ok so today after dropping grown kids off to school it's now Mommy breakfast time,so I wanted something really good. Of course I get the help of my best friend Yelp.... and stumbled upon Auntie's Cafe. Great choice!!! I ordered the breakfast burrito with spam(don't judge me). Best choice ever. It was so good and of course I had to try it before I made it home and I was like oh shit this is good. Made with the normal breakfast burrito fixings but the combination of spam with Aunties spicy sauce true perfection. I don't really do spicy but it was just enough for me to notice. One of the owners took my order...a really nice welcoming Young Lady. I can't wait to go back and take the family. It's located in a strip mall right off the 91. Great food, but lacks the aloha spirit. I am in a "breakfast club" with 4 retired friends. We meet once a week and started adding in Aunties Cafe to our rotation. We THOUGHT we had finally found a good place we all enjoyed. Little did we know the man at the cash register (owner?) was not happy with us lingering. We like to enjoy our meal and each other's company. Meaning yes, we do not usually leave immediately after we eat, but of course are mindful and leave when we see tables are needed for the next guests. If there were customers waiting, we would have surely left. Very disappointed in the vibe and some of the comments we have over heard such as, "they come once a month and want to sit all day" (referring to us while speaking out loud to anyone in ear shot). I should have known what I was in for immediately when we walked. 1) first off go get your menu over there 2) walk up yo the counter and pay before you get your food snd yess they want a tip 3) no condiments at the table 4) go and get your own condiments. A hidden gem! The customer service was top notch. I ordered a spam breakfast burrito. It was so delicious that I forgot to even add the salsa. My friend got the Aloha Royal. I've had royals at other Hawaiian restaurants and wasn't impressed, but this was one delicious. The employee helping us order heard us debate on getting the chicken, so even though we didn't order it this time, he surprised us with a couple freshly fried pieces of chicken to take home and try. I couldn't give it 5 stars as we came here when there was no one in the restaurant. As we left another family came for dinner and we got here around 5:45 on a sat. The service was 5 stars (but no one was there hard to judge when no one is there). We met the manager brad, well if that is the manager. We just assume he was. He gave us an insight about the place. He told us that TNT was the owner but they couldn't offer the same food as their competitors in the center. That is why they don't have the Hawaiian sun drinks. Or have the same menu as the TNT location. Food: TNT fried chicken was 4.5 stars. It taste like Hawaii. It was crispy, and delicious. Cindy salad was a healthy meal. Personally if I eat out I would get something I do not make at home. Our friends go that salad I got the karaage chicken salad. The dressing was delicious and that is important it was kind of like a miso sesame vinegary taste. The only thing missing for me would be fried won ton skins that would of completed the meal for me. The karaage was average it didn't have much sweetness or saltiness for me. We ordered the Korean chicken on the side and it was not bad certainly better than the chicken karaage in my opinion . The Korean chicken was good but it was missing the extra crispness and bang flavors. It wasn't very spicy at all. The place is clean and the Mac salad was very good not much mayonnaise the way we like it. The spam and egg musubi was good too. The Teri sauce made it pretty good. My husband and I love to try new places. I ordered my potatoes with bell peppers well done crispy, they didn't come out that way was kinda raw so I sent them back to cook longer and they didn't really cook them much more, my husband's were undercooked as well everything thing else was great. The owner asked us how our meal was and my husband mentioned the potatoes and before we knew it he refunded our breakfast, we were not expecting that and grateful he cared enough about what we were served. I saw this location on online looking for great breakfast. I decided to try it paying for my food online and then go pick it up. When I got there seeing that my food was sitting on the counter waited in line then I approached the counter When I got up there I asked the guy up front who was on the register did he add my item cause I asked for an item to be added and he told me No because he couldn't add it. What kind of restaurant can't add an Item that the customer is asking for in which she's gonna pay for and he had a really nasty attitude about it. 1st of all the jerk up front does not need to be at this cash register and the 1st point of contact 2nd the food wasn't that great so I will never return. I feel awful for not leaving a review earlier. We've eaten here so many times. I always order the karaage chicken and waffles and my family usually gets the roast pork and hamburger steak. We've tried lots of stuff there... fried rice and hawaiian plates, spam musubis, breakfasts, and it is always super good.
