Never again, frozen pizza from the supermarket has better taste & value. There"s nothing good to say about this pizza. Ordered two toppings, they really know how to skimp. Pull a piece away you expect a real pizza to have stretch in the cheese, nope. Yes you guessed it there wasn't enough cheese to stretch, they skimp on that also. The sauce was sweetened with sugar and the crust wasn't even crispy on the bottom. It's been four days since contacting them & haven't heard back. It shows how much they really care. Aurelio's definitely has one of the best pizzas I've ever had. They do pick-up, delivery, or sit-downs. They don't have too many tables but it's worth waiting for one, otherwise you can sit outside and enjoy the view. read more

I love pizza. Tried it from here for the first time and I must say I am impressed. I order a thin crust pizza and It was really good, the sauce was amazing and just overall was delicious. but their cheese sticks were alright, marinara wasnt the best. It is a little pricey but definitely worth it for the pizza. I will order from here again when I can afford to spend a bit more money on pizza. read more

I am writing this review as I am steaming mad...which, ironically...my pizza was not. I have had a horrible day..seriously horrible. The only hope I had for saving this day was the fact that I was going to order Aurelios tonight. My husband is not home...he usually orders the pizza and orders (smartly) from somewhere else. But, tonight...I was ordering..and I was ordering my (former) favorite pizza, Aurelios! My subdivision is only 2 years old, so sometimes it can be hard to find. So, I made sure to tell the person who took my order EXACTLY where we were located, including the nearest intersection. This information clearly didn't make it to the delivery driver (Thanks Patrick). After an hour and 15 minutes, I called and was told, "It should be there momentarily." An hour and 45 minutes later, my pizza arrived cold. The driver was unapologetic. He didn't even try to call us to get directions. We also ordered the buffalo chicken salad....what a joke. It had like 5 pieces of some prepackaged buffalo chicken that someone half heartedly warmed up and threw on our salad. Take my advice, pass on that if you are considering it. In High School, I used to work at the flagship location in Homewood. Trust me, I highly doubt this is the service that Joe Aurelio intended. You have lost a loyal customer. Ok, I LOVE deep dish/stuffed pizza just as much as every other Chicagoan, but Aurelios pizza is just killer. Their sauce has this great tomato taste that's the perfect combination of sweet and tangy. My mouth is whetting as I write this review because I haven't had an Aurelio's pie in over a year. I grew up with this stuff and tried the Harrison location in Chicago as well. The Downers Grove location which I believe is one of the originals, is the better location to go to. Every time I've been, my food has been hot and fresh and DELISH. Last night after a long crazy Halloween day I decided to make a pit stop to Aurelio's because it was convenient, deserted and on my way home. When I walked in I was annoyed that they didn't have a menu displayed.The snotty woman behind the counter stared at me as I took all of 10 seconds to place my order (a slice of pizza & an order of mozzarella sticks). The total was almost ten dollars! The cheese sticks alone are $6.95 (for 7 cheese sticks? Are you serious?) She handed me my pizza to go and told me the cheese sticks would be a few minutes. I sat down and waited, and waited, and waited. After 15 min enough was enough. I got up and asked where my cheese sticks were. The woman seemed confused, asked a pubescent teen the same question then bent down and took the finished bag out of a fridge and mumbled 'sorry'. REALLY?? I am NEVER coming back here again. Let me begin by saying my husband and I have been long time customers of Aurelio's location in Villa Park, Addison, La Grange, and most recently the Downers Grove location. However, that will now change due to very poor service and poor response from Aurelio's. Last weekend my husband ordered one large pizza to be picked up. We placed our order at 6:02 pm and were told that the pizza will be ready at 6:30-6:35. I went into the store to pick it up, and there were several people waiting for their order. I paid, gave my name, and waited. And waited. And waited. I asked the girl at the cash register three times if my pizza was ready and the answer was always "it's still in the oven". Every person walking in to pick up an order was told the same thing: "Your pizza is still in the oven, it should be ready soon." After about 35 minutes of waiting in the crowded store, I was given my pizza which I noticed was taken out of the warming oven. Apparently, it must have been there for a while, since by the time we got it home, which is 5 minutes away, the pizza was lukewarm. It also was not cooked well-done, as we had simply requested (this location has a consistent habit of under-cooking). There was no apology and no attempt by Aurelio's to remedy an unsatisfactory customer experience. Either the high school kids they have working at the store do not receive proper training, or they simply are not capable of managing the store properly. Either way, and with so many other options for pizza in the area, we will no longer be ordering from Aurelio's. read more

i love going to aurelios before seeing a movie at the tivoli. the pizza is great, not too greasy and always super cheesy.

I usually come here for lunch 2-3 times a month. Its pretty quick and easy with there lunch special 2 slices of pizza and a bottled soft drink for like $6.50 they do sit the slices in a standing heater so if the day has been busy for them then the pizza is usually pretty fresh. Although I have gone in on there slow days and had pizza that may have been sitting there for a little while. read more

An employee there knew me and that didn't excuse that he told me and I quote "Get the f*** out of here" when all I wanted to do was have a slice of pizza. Probably the 4th best pizza in Downers Grove at twice the price. Just watch them toast their pre-made crust in the conveyor belt behind the counter. Honestly, you can make better frozen pizza at home. Even if you do care for the style, the service is poor at best. It takes a long time, and that's if they even remember to make your order. Hi Marsha W, I may have had one wrong delivery from Aurelio's in the last 7 years and they were very apologetic and offered a discount on the next order, so my experience was certainly different from yours and I'm still a loyal customer! Way back when, my son used to work at this location and I found it was a great place for him to learn job skills and become a responsible earner. From time to time I would hear that someone, usually a teenager, was let go because they couldn't or didn't demonstrate the desired level of professionalism. Remember when you were a teen and maybe had some difficulty in grasping the requirements of the job? How would you have felt if an error in judgment or maybe using the wrong tone with a customer was broadcast to anyone with an Internet connection who had interest in your place of work? My guess is; it probably wouldn't have felt very good. In the spirit of free Internet information, I checked and found the 3 other reviews you posted: 3 negative and 1 positive, not too shabby! The negative feedback seems to follow a common thread with complaints to the BBB and phrases like: "ignorant fool" or "the same rude, ignorant man" and "completely ignorant, rude". My suggestion is to get out from behind you keyboard and talk to a senior person in the place of business to help enlighten the person who has offended your service level expectation. Finally, you said you were going to take this to the highest level: Did you talk to a senior manager or perhaps the owner of Aurelio's, in an effort to help this youngster smooth out his customer service skills? Did the BBB take your complaint seriously? Or were you just happy to anonymously vent and in the process publicly ridicule a young man in the early stages of learning to handle irate customers? P.S. and BTW, good catch on the Pizza that was thrown at you! I didn't know that the DG Aurelio's delivered to Aurora but they may have made an exception for a special customer. God Bless! read more

Best Pizza EVER! The sauce is amazing, and the way its a little broiled on the top, I love it so much.

Went for a quick lunch between dr appointments. Ended up getting salad, and pizzas with bad tomatoes, after waiting for about 20 minutes. Had to wait for another20 minutes while they replaced the order. Got late for the appointment. The new pizza was fine. Since we had hungry kids we were stuck and ended up getting late. The staff was nice but inexperienced in that the younger staff running the pizza lines seemed to have no idea about checking ingredients before using them -normally when you get a whiff of the tomatoes you should realize if they are going bad. But as I pick my pizza up at 10:40 ( for one forgot sauce again so I reminded her) there's a guy with a delivery and the order is one pizza just as mine was, and she says that "yea we stop deliveries at 10" so this pizza took 40 mins to make??!? I have to say this is one of the worst take out experiences I have ever had in my life. When I called to place my order, the teenager that answered the phone had a hard time taking my order. He had to repeat my order a few times to get it right. When I went into the restaurant, I was a little early to pick up my food. The young girl was very rude and told me it was not ready yet. I told her I understood that, I just wanted to pay first and sit and wait. My sandwich took over a half hour to cook. Also, the rude teenager that rang me up charged me wrong for my food. She charged me $1.50 more for a basket of fries instead of giving me the fries that come with the sandwich. When I was sitting waiting for my food, another rude teenage girl employee told me to move so she could get past me. I got up from my chair and asked her if she wanted me to wait outside instead of being in her way. I have to say that the rude, ignorant teenagers that work there along with the long wait for food and mediocre entrees, I have to say I will never go back to Aurelio's. When I want quality Italian food and great service, I go to Gioradano's down the street in Downers Grove. Please don't eat here! The workers and food are downright AWFUL! read more
