This was substandard pizza at best. My Italian sub was roast beef and ham on soggy bread. It was awful. Never again

Good service when dining in at the Winfield location but expect a good hour for weekend delivery. Gluten free pizza is completely safe as i have a severe anaphylaxis allergy to gluten and have never had an issue. Pizza is good but a bit salty. Love the antipasto salad and gluten free Maggi bread! Yum. Only gave 4 stars due to the price. It's a bit expensive for pizza but the fact that I can eat the gluten free options and not end up in the ER is worth it to me if we really want a pizza night! read more

I attended a party here recently. The restaurant had just a booth or two of customers besides us. Service in the first 1/2 hour was fine. Waitress was attending to everyone's beverage orders. Appetizers and salad was brought out and service began to slow. We were clearing our plates and leaving it all on an empty table throughout our entire meal and having to locate our waitress. While friendly, she was not attending to the group. I've never experienced service like this from any Aurelio's restaurant. read more

I love Aurelio's Pizza, but will NEVER return to this one (or the one in Crown Point, as it is the same owners) ever again... service was HORRIBLE for a party of 12... we were the only ones in there and should have had exquisite service... several of my guests and my husband had to clear off plates and trays, serve coffee and get napkins and silverware... the waitress and cook where no where to be found and we continued to go up to the kitchen to try to find someone to serve us... very rarely did she come to check on us or refill beverages... one pizza was fine, the other was not prepared as requested...several of my guests commented about how poor the service was and I was embarrassed that I chose this place... manager was rude the day after when I called to complain... Little Caesars or Dominos will be a better choice than this Aurelios read more

Friendly and quick service! The server was attentive and the food came out extremely fast, which was nice because we were starving. We ordered bosco sticks and a pizza, half sausage and half veggie. A little on the greasy side but still delicious. I will definitely be returning to this one soon. read more

Been here several times, pizza is very good and the young guy who is waiter is terrific. I don't know if he is owner but he is very accommodating. In NWI notice this yellow cheese kinda different, I'm from Chicago, not used to it. But dosen't change my opinion that the pizza is good and this place is really clean. read more

I have loved Aurelio's for years, I especially like their sauce. This location is very cheap on it's toppings. Went to the location in Munster and could not believe how much cheese and other toppings were on the pizza, you couldn't even see the sauce. Ordered a Beggars from across the street in Winfield and they too had a lot of toppings. We will not be ordering from this location again or the one in Crown Point because I was told they're the same owners. Why so skimpy on your toppings? read more

Aurelio's is one of roughly six thousand pizza places in Winfield (okay, it's more like five or six, but it's a pretty small area), and one of the better ones, generally. There are a few hiccups that keep it from being our go-to weekly pizza joint. First, make no mistake about it: Aurelio's is an expensive pizza place if you're after quantity. No joke...a couple of medium pizzas with more than one topping and an order of breadsticks are gonna run you around sixty bucks or so with delivery and tip. Now, in fairness, the quality is substantially higher and flavors generally better than, say, Pizza Hut or Little Caesars, but if you're feeding a bunch of teenagers, this probably isn't the place to order from. I think of Aurelio's as "company pizza"...more for adults with discerning palates. Oh, and the sides (think wings, "loaded" fries, bosco sticks) are probably the most overpriced things on the menu. Stick to the pizza, and keep the number of toppings low, and it's still on the high side, but tolerable. But I'm not a pizza snob. Sometimes I just want some reasonably priced, gut-busting pizza... Aurelio's is not in that wheelhouse. Second, this particular Aurelio's has a problem with consistency. Sometimes, the service is very, very good; attentive and accommodating. Most times, the food is hot and well prepared. But I'd say roughly every fourth time you order, something will be off. The person on the phone will be gruff and dismissive; or the pizza will slightly burned or slightly undercooked (undercooked being slightly more common). Or, in one of the more unusual turns, toppings I've ordered have just been "removed" from the menu. Example: for months I was ordering meatball and salami pizzas from Aurelio's. Then, one day, I was told they don't have salami any more. Keep in mind, they still sell sub sandwiches with salami...I'm not sure where the disconnect happened on that one. Minor complaint, but it did reduce the number of times I'd order from them for several months. That said, when the pizza is on, it is excellent. They are generous with toppings, the cheese is very natural tasting, the sauce is sweet without being cloying, and the crust is satisfyingly crisp on the outside and chewy in the middle (for the thin crust) or buttery and firm (for the stuffed). The pasta is also pretty good, if that's your thing, although, once again, they'll nickle and dime you to death making it the way you like it: meat sauce costs extra, cheese baked on top costs extra, etc. etc....the sauce thing in particular bothers me, but...whatever. We don't order it often anyway. I can make my own pasta. Overall, after six years in the area, I get pizza from Aurelio's once a month or so. There aren't a ton of dining options in Winfield, but there ARE a pretty ridiculous number of pizza places. We've got options in that department. If they had the occasional deal or coupon, (which they DO have, but it's kind of difficult to know where to find out about them), they'd likely be more of a weekly thing than a monthly one. I was so happy with my first meal here, pizza, that I decided to try some of their other menu options. That was a bad decision. The appetizers were not cooked through, specifically the cheese sticks were cold on the inside and the jalapeño poppers were inedible. The Italian sandwich I had was gross. The bread was soggy, the ingredients looked wilted and old. I couldn't eat most of the meal. $47 for a small meal and a lesson to learn not to eat here unless it's just pizza. read more
