Absolutely wonderful food! This was my second visit and it was delightful. We had the breakfast wrap and the berries & cream pancakes. Both were delightful and the portions were large. My only complaint is that the honest stand was in the way of the door and hard to maneuver around coming in or going out. Our server was great but the coffee bar area was understaffed. Aurora I have this thing for pancakes. Fluffy, crisp, sweet & salty, cooked to perfection, delicious pancakes. I adore the pancakes at Aurora. They serve them up cooked just right with a dollop of yummy house butter & warm real maple syrup-YUM! Their pancake setup is an award winning combo in my book; it hits the mark for everything an outstanding pancake experience should be. They have lots of varieties of pancakes and I've never had a bite of them that I didn't love. I so enjoy the experience of eating their biscuits & gravy with a fried egg and hash, too. I'd order those again in a heartbeat. Another favorite at our table has been The Plaza Jam. It's sooooooo tasty! It's got bacon, whipped cream cheese, scrambled eggs and that tomato jam--it rocks! Also, as others have shared, they have great love Hoboken Coffee. It's a solid breakfast/brunch spot in The Plaza. They get busy on the weekends and sometimes the wait can verge on painful. You can order a bottomless cup 'o joe at the counter which is a nice touch, and take it to your table when you're seated. They don't take reservations unless your party has six or more. And sometimes when they are slammed, understandably, service can slow down a bit. They serve food grown and farmed sustainably, and try to support local farmers. That means you will pay a bit more here than some other breakfast spots, so that's your warning. Though, as long as they keep dishing out the really tasty goods, it's fine by me. I love that there was not a long wait. The food was absolutely amazing. We had the steak and eggs and it was cooked to perfection. Packed full of flavor. We also had the berries and cream French toast which I highly recommend as well. The place was very clean, great atmosphere for friends and family or for a cozy date. Came here for brunch and to get some work done on a Tuesday morning. Staff was so friendly and didn't mind me staying for a while! The owners were also here and were very pleasant! Started with a half sweetened London fog latte. Right balance of sweetness. Mugs are huge though! I appreciate that they let me make some substitutions. I got the farmer, but with egg whites, no meat, and toast in a to-go box on the side without butter. Potato cabbage hash is very unique! I like the flavor combination and the potatoes were very tender. I will definitely be coming back here to try out more of the menu! read more

We had a great and friendly server. I wish i could remember her name. I think she said she was newer. We had a large group for a bday celebration brunch, and she even gave us a little mocktail for the kid that was with us since we were all drinking mimosas :) she went above and beyond. I've never had a bad experience here. This is one I was surprised to see that I hadn't reviewed yet! Everything I've had on the menu is great from the biscuit sandwiches to the pancakes and most recently shrimp and grits. Very good portion sizes as well. I appreciate being able to waitlist here through Yelp for the busy times as well. The bright atmosphere and décor make it perfect for brunch. The owner Jamie is often on site and always makes sure everything goes smoothly and comes out of the kitchen properly. Her presence truly makes the difference that you don't see other places. To-go lattes are super slow, so running in here for a coffee to-go takes like 20 mins. Don't go here in a hurry. It was a morning date with myself and I decided to treat myself to a brunch somewhere new so I put myself on the waitlist for Aurora. I showed up about 2 minutes beyond the seat time and they still sat me easily. It's small and crowded inside but a delightful atmosphere. The service was a bit slow and non-suggestive but I came to my own conclusions on their delicious-looking and wide, in-depth menu and I tried the Plaza Smash as my cocktail and the Shrimp and Grits as my entree and let me tell you.. I was nearly crying with every bite it was delicious. A big quantity and the taste not lacking in the least bit, I was so happy, and my belly can confirm. There were dogs and babies and smiles inside and truly, couldn't have asked for more aside more attentive service. Definitely worth the expected parking fiasco on a Saturday morning! This little place wasn't too bad. The server was really nice. The only drawback to this place is the location because parking is horrible and the LONG wait time. We waited over an hour and we got on the waitlist ahead of time but still had to wait when we got there. I ordered the French toast with berries and cream with sausage on the side. Update: Aurora is one of our fav breakfast spots!!! I'll amp up the stars if we go back and the service is better. Our server forgot to put in part of our order, and when we asked about it he entered it in the computer... which probably sent it to the back of the line. Fast forward 20 minutes, and we've asked for our check when the one fried egg shows up. We said no thanks as our table was already cleared... and the woman expediting service looked pissed. There were tons of people waiting up front, with 4 or 5 tabletops open. I think they need to work out the kinks. THE FOOD, however, was pretty good. Biscuits and gravy were the highlight, along with Hoboken coffee. We'll try again once the kitchen and waitstaff have more experience. read more

I've been to this restaurant for breakfast twice now and it has not disappointed! The first time I had the Berry French toast which was delicious and just visually beautiful. The coffee was excellent! I had the campfire latte which was delicious as well, both times! The bright colors and decor are so lively and makes it feel like morning no matter the weather outside. Small little brunch place. Went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't too busy, which was great. The interior is fun and lots of things to look at. There is also a patio for the warmer months. I ordered the breakfast burger with bacon and chips. It was delicious. A perfect runny egg yolk and the bacon was thick cut. This is among my top breakfast spots ANYWHERE. We arrived for a late brunch-maybe around 2:15 range on a Sunday and they still had a decent crowd but there was no wait. The banana pancakes with cinnamon honey butter and syrup were wonderful. I mean I'm normally a purist- buttermilk pancakes or blueberry pancakes at most. These were literally perfect - slightly crispy edges with soft pillowy interiors. The granola sprinkled on top added a good crunch. On top that they had pretty edges :-) The Spin On Lox was good also. I liked the tomato jam on the biscuit, and the lox and egg combination worked fine. Only thing I would change - the champagne vinaigrette on my side salad was a little too sweet. I think the salad would benefit from a little tartness instead since the tomato jam was somewhat sweet on the biscuit. Minor quibble though. The pork hash is also a tasty choice. Grapefruit brûlée is sweet, tart and nice. All in all I think Aurora can stand toe to toe with anywhere I can think of in the country for a creative, satisfying breakfast. read more

Well, I can say we had food for lunch so Aurora met the minimum requirements. When we first arrived, I found it esthetically pleasing and had great hopes but my hopes were sadly dashed upon the curb and thrown to the wayside. When we arrived there were several open tables and though the hostess was present at the front she appeared disengaged and we stood there for about 2 minutes with her back to the door before we were greeted. After we were seated we noticed the hostess seemed more interested in social affairs with other staff than welcoming customers. As to the food, we had brunch: chicken tacos, chicken and waffles, and berry French toast. While all the food was cooked and presented well, it fell flat on flavors to the point the French toast had the most flavor of all. Do someone who can be loquacious the best I can come up with is forgettable. Hopefully this was an off day, and given the reviews of others we might try again. read more

Come here for brunch with my mom and we both got lavender lattes and shared the cream of mushroom with the steak and eggs. The lattes were very good but everything else was kind of lacking flavor. The steak and eggs came with a tomatillo salsa that was so sour, the steak was very tough and hard to chew, and the eggs and potatoes had little to no seasoning. Came into Aurora for breakfast. The place itself is long, has a nice, modern feel and the backyard is a cool concept. I got one of the specials that were advertised on the table, biscuits and gravy with the pulled pork and the potato-cabbage hash on the side. Enjoyed the biscuits and their thyme flavor. The pulled pork and the potato-cabbage hash was decent, but nothing to write home about. My wife tried the tiramisu pancakes after reading good reviews, but something about them was...off. They tasted sour, almost like sour milk. Not sure if that's how they're supposed to be or if one of the ingredients just went bad on this visit. 5 years ago, Aurora would have gotten 4 or 5 stars given the lack of quality brunch places. Now with the arrival of places like Hatch and Sunnyside, its a notch below at least based on this visit. That being said, I'd definitely come back here again to try different menu items as their menu is pretty extensive. read more

Just finished a fun little brunch with the hubby, today. This is a casual little place that is good to serve up coffee and a hot plate. Hubby thought his pork, brunch bowl was very good, and I liked my biscuit and eggs. The biscuits are quite large! The place was full this Sunday morning, and I was on my third cup of coffee when we were served. Be prepared to sit in metal chairs. It's okay, because it is a slow, Sunday relaxed sort of vibe.
