I got my upper wisdoms removed by Dr. Jennifer Jones. I cannot recommend her enough, she is well-versed in her craft. She is very gentle, informative, and will help guide you through the extractions. This is exceedingly helpful for people that are anxious on dental procedures, such as myself. Dr. Jones make the experience seamless and my healing process was a lot quicker than my other dentist who removed the bottom wisdoms. I believe it was the office manager who reached out and offered me a free consultation afterwards. I had the pleasure of finally meeting Dr. Hoover and he is super knowledgeable as expected. He took his time making sure my questions and concerns were answered. The only thing I would change is the way the office communicates, before coming back I had my dentist contact Dr. Hoovers office to ensure we would be all set with no more problems. As I am standing next to the receptionist from my dentist Dr. Hoovers staff told them the reason they didn't request my records in the first place was because I had told them they weren't willing to give them to me and were trying to charge me for them, both of us looked at each other in disbelief because I had never expressed that to anyone and my dentist was quick to respond "but I called your office to send them, it doesn't make sense to say we would be charging" then they proceeded to say well she was late anyway too.... I arrived at 3:17pm when my appointment was at 3:15pm. (Technically I was late, but come on by 2 minutes lol) Anyhow, a simple "I'm so sorry it looks like there was some miscommunication somewhere along the lines" goes a long way vs trying to pin blame somewhere else. My intentions were not to receive free services because I truly value everyone's time and knowledge but I appreciate that the office was quick to resolve this communication issues we had. Go here for your wisdom teeth removal!! I was so nervous at the consultation but Dr.Coon was so genuine, easy going & did not pressure anything at all. The insurance approval & appointment scheduling was so smooth with the front desk as well. The staff here are kind & professional. Right before the surgery, Dr. Coon explained how I'd feel before going under general anesthesia & the next thing I remember was waking up still feeling a bit out of it. They make you sit on a comfortable recliner chair next to a bens & jerrys fridge until you're alert. I didn't feel rushed, had no side effects from the anesthesia, & got a free tub of icecream. From the day of surgery (took 4 wisdom teeth out) to 3 days post op, I have no pain, swelling, or bruising. Dr. Coon is so caring & would reach out to see how I was feeling/ answer any questions. I have had two wisdom tooth surgeries with Dr. Hoover and I couldn't be happier with the experience! He's great, really caring and kind. During my first surgery, I was super nervous, but he made sure to check on me multiple times, worked fast, and talked to me the whole time to keep me calm and explain everything he was doing! I didn't have too much pain after the surgery, and by the third day, I was completely recovered! I highly recommend HIM, he's really awesome. I truly do not know where to begin... The medical Staff at this office is truly wonderful. I entered with an emergency surgery referral- I had multiple tooth fractures from a traumatic event. The pain was crippling and debilitating- I couldn't even look at light without curling into a ball with a migraine and shooting pains down my leg. The admissions woman could tell I was in serious pain, she was very considerate and fast to act to get me back in for my X-rays. Dr Jones came in to go over my X-rays ( I'm in a ball hiding from the light in the office) we discussed what needed to be removed and I begged her to take out the tooth that "could be saved" but was causing me all this pain... I wanted it OUT, RIGHT NOW. I had survived a very traumatic event - I was in deep fear while doing my intake and X-rays. Although I don't feel comfortable sharing what happened, these woman looked in my eyes and just knew. They took care of me. Dr Jones pulled both cemented yet fractured teeth from my mouth which released a Bad infection. The entire time I had these two women on each side of me, helping me get through this, having empathy which most don't, and truly got me through this procedure as it was horribly emotional as well. Carmen, thank you from the bottom of my heart for holding my hand through this, literally. I have felt so alone since this event happened; yet this was the first time I felt completely supported. They removed the teeth, gave me ice cream; and sent me on my way with my partner and service animal. When I finally got through the pain and could focus on the experience; I cried because it was such a scary thing to walk into and now I just want to hug all of these woman I had never met before. I absolutely 100 percent recommend Dr Jones and the staff at this Office - customer service is part of daily life, there is Good and Bad.... These woman made me feel safe, unashamed, validated, strong and confident. Yesterday was my surgery and I woke up today for the first time in one year without ANY PAIN. ( & no I have not taken my meds today) Obviously will take if needed but I used to wake up every crying and crippled. Now I can finally start living my life. This review is for the front office staff. Specifically the woman who claimed she was the manager. I believe her name is Jackie. Dr. Hoover has been great. I came here to get my wisdom teeth pulled. I referred my dad here to get some extractions. An referred a few friends. I'm really disappointed with the front office receptionist I spoke with earlier this week. About a month ago my grandmother had a consultation to get some extractions done. After the consultation the office was slammed with folks checking in/checking out/ charging out etc. So the gal who helped us a month ago (Lauren I believe) was awesome. She booked the next appointment and told us we were set to return back for the procedure. I asked if we needed anything else, or had to go over anything an we were told no. So we left and she said they would call if anything. Fast forward to our appointment this week, the other receptionist who said she was the manager checked us in. I was asking her if she could confirm with Dr if we could get the extractions done in 2 rounds. Or better to get them all done that day. (My grandmother needed a few extractions done) I assumed she spoke with Dr since she said it would be better to get them all done that day then wait longer and have a longer recovery time. I agreed with that option and chatted more with her. It wasn't until my grandma was called up that we were told after the procedure we'd discuss payment. I was so confused about a payment since we were never told how much this would be. I told the receptionist that no one ever went over a dental plan of extraction, billing charges, and co payment. She responded that it was our responsibility to be aware of what the dental plan covers in my grandmas insurance. And our responsibility to call back to ask how much we have to pay for the procedure. She said it was just a courtesy if someone calls to go over it with us. When I tried to communicate multiple times to the receptionist that the staff never discussed the payment/charges or total cost for the extractions she got really hostile and confrontational with me. I told the woman I'd like to speak with a manger just to communicate that I felt it was unfair no one ever communicate with us any costs before the procedure, so we were under the assumption the insurance my grandmother had would cover the cost. She rudely said "I am the manager" and shook her head and refused to get another person in the office I could speak with. I kindly asked her for a print out or anything that said how much we were due. So that I could physically see anything so I can save up for this procedure and come back. But again, she was hostile and responded that there wasn't anything to print out for me. When I pleaded and asked again she printed out the Dental claim detail report and handed it to me. Again, I tried to communicate with the receptionist that I was just disappointed no one ever communicated the total cost. An this was something that would have to be postponed for my grandmother, she wasn't sympathetic and instead was rude. As soon as that interaction ended another tech came out with my grandmas chart to call out for her. I told the tech "sorry, we're not doing the procedure today, we're gonna have to cancel. It's not happening" the receptionist responded "yeah they can't do it after all" The tech threw my grandmas chart on the counter in front of me then turned around quickly through the door. That interaction felt really dramatic. The whole situation felt really dramatic from the staff. I really hope someone in management sees this and can address it accordingly. read more

Dr Jennifer Jones @ Hoover Oral Surgery was A+ great to work with taking care of my fractured tooth problems. I had multiple teeth with issues that needed attention from the past that needed surgery, one being pulled and another that did not come down & had to be cut out of the gums. She also did a great job with the bone grafts & prepping me for my future tooth implant. I have seen multiple dentists for this issue but never wanted to do it until I met Dr Jennifer. She was very warm, empathetic & understanding of the situation. Being disabled on a fixed income also made it very hard for me financially so Dr Jennifer worked out a payment plan for me that was so kind & even discounted some services as she is truly in the practice of helping people not just for money but for the good of their health. They even did a CT Scan that was included & it did not cost extra as many other places charge for out-of-pocket fees of over $300 for it. She understands the dilemma some face with dental costs & did her best to accommodate me so I wanted to write this review for anyone that may be scared of the costs to get broken teeth fixed due to the cost that Dr Jennifer is a very rare find & Hoover Oral is lucky to have her onboard. I interacted with Jackie the receptionist there who was very friendly, Lauren, & Andrea who was also helpful. I even had a problem after the 1st week & called & talked to Dr Hoover who gave me advice on the phone on a Sunday, which was surprising but delightful. I then visited the office the following week as I was worried so had Dr Jennifer check my progress and all was well. Finding the right place for your child could be very difficult. I am very glad to have found Dr. Austin Hoover who made sure to answer all my questions and remained patient and kind with me and my son. He has a very calm demeanor with his patients, and I really appreciate that in a provider. We left feeling very satisfied with the services that we received, and my son (age 11) was surprised at how easy it all went. He had two extractions and he was brave enough to take the injections to the gums rather than to be put to sleep. :) Dr. Hoover even called us later that afternoon to check on my son which was very thoughtful and considerate of him. I have avoided getting my wisdom teeth out for years. My husband is a dentist and told me Dr Hoover is the best and assured me I would have a good experience here. And I did... I had an incredible experience given what they had to do. I chose to be awake for my appointment but they still hooked me to an IV to administer medicine to assist in healing and pain. I have to say that I was a wreck the day of the surgery (mom mode) and the staff made me feel comfortable by answering all of my questions and addressing my concerns. The first was to have my wisdom teeth removed (many many years after I should've) and the second was to remove a fibroma from my inner cheek. Honestly, I never write reviews... but I had a wonderful experience so here goes - I had my surgery this morning. I found Dr. Hoover off my Medi-Cal Dental directory search and then read through some yelp reviews. From the start, scheduling was quick & easy and so was the consultation appointment-15 minutes. Dr. Hoover is extremely calm, approachable and professional. My anxiety went away after talking to him. I felt comfortable and secured so I went ahead and booked an appointment for all 4 wisdom teeth extractions. Oh and his staff are all welcoming and friendly as well. Right now, I feel good. Just experiencing a little discomfort which is normal but it's going a lot better than expected. I was numb for about 6 hours after the procedure so that was nice because I didn't feel any pain whatsoever. I'd recommend this place if you have dental anxiety like I do. And thank you again, Dr. Hoover! I am glad I found your practice and appreciate you so much!! Keep doing what you're doing, you're amazing. I usually don't write reviews but I got to say this place is amazing. For the last couple years I've been needed my extra teeth pulled out but had problems from other places so my orthodontist referred me over to this place. I went in for my consultation and felt nervous at first but Dr. Hoover made me feel comfortable and sounded extremely confident. My case was considered more extreme because they had to pull out 7 teeth but he assured me he would fix any complications if it happens. My surgeon was Dr. Jones and she was extremely friendly and she did such a great job pulling out all of my teeth the same day. She called me later that day to check up on me and honestly my healing process didn't hurt at all. Dr. Caroline extracted all 4 of my wisdom teeth under general anesthesia, and her & her team could not have been better! They were very friendly, reassuring, and fast (~1 hr). My teeth were impacted, close to my nerve, and Dr. Caroline removed them seamlessly. I have been taking Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen, as well as icing my face. I have been following the post-op care instructions carefully and 1-day post-op in: pain is at a 2/10 (it's more of a general discomfort), bleeding is minimal, and nausea immediately after surgery was nonexistent (they gave me Zofran thankfully, because I'm prone to motion sickness). I can't even express the immense kindness and support this office gave to me and my son from the beginning of this process throughout its entirety. Let me begin by saying my son has several special needs and I was turned away by over 10 Doctors offices due to the plethora of challenges my son has. When I mentioned this to Dr. Hoover, he was not only genuinely concerned for my son's well being but he said he could absolutely and comfortably take care of my son.
