Cute little cornershop with an indoor and outdoor section. It is counter service. We came right at 11am. The food came out really quickly. The staff dont speak much English but they were very nice and it added to the authenticity. We loved the kachapuri. And I ordered one to go for my husband. Our least favourite was the meat pie. I did not like the flavour of meat at all. I will be back and order the cheese pie next time. The cake and soda were good too

For lunch at bread boat in Austin! This is a unique dish of Gregorian cuisine, very hard to find here in Texas. The moment I walked into the establishment, I was hit with a wave of spices, if smelled so good but also so strong. They have an outdoor patio area with some fans. I tried the savory beef boat and the bacon bean boat, I also got an order of their house spicy Gregorian sauce on the side. The beef one was my favorite. The slow braised and tomatoes mixed with the egg was so flavorful and you basically just tear off pieces of the bread to dip in the middle. The egg has cheese and sticks of butter in it and is so good. The bacon bean boat has baked beans and bacon, topped with more bacon. I loved the bacon, the beans make it a very very heavy dish. The spicy sauce is a must have, it's a little tangy and the acidity adds to the complex flavor profile of every bite
Great place great food! The place is really nice with seating inside and outside. You can tell that the food is fresh and everything we had, had amazing flavor. You order at a kiosk and when your food is ready they bring it. We waited maybe 15 minutes for the food. We tried the classic boat, smoky bean boat and a garlic chicken which I could smell the garlic and seasoning from next to me. All were amazing. Would recommend and come back for sure.

This place is worth the spike in blood sugar, baby! Everything was delicious. Tried a meat pie (I do wish they offered smaller ones since it's a big boy, meant to be shared), a "bread boat" (khachapuri), and beef stew. Even the side bread that came with the beef stew was excellent. Flavorful meats and decadent breads, what more do you need?!

The bread was fresh, the fillings were rich, and the flavors were incredibly satisfying. We also tried their dessert, which was just as amazing.

Parking was limited, and it's a bit tricky to park. The restaurant is pretty small inside but it has a lot of decorations and pictures/paintings. I like that they have samples for desserts and we love it so much that we took another one lol! We ordered Savoury beef boat, chicken boat, and meat pie. The sour dough was really fluffy. I love the beef boat a lot because of the savoury beef, full of flavour. The meat pie is kind of a hit or miss, I think it's a bit too much for me. As their name suggests, they have bread boats or adjaruli khachapuri, but with meat and other toppings which I haven't seen elsewhere. We tried the herbed chicken and savory beef bread boats, the special beets dish, and a megruli cheese pie. I highly recommend the beef bread boat and the cheese pie, which was simple but amazing cheesy bread. The others were good but the chicken tasted like Mexican chicken so it wasn't as special for me and the beets come with a sour plum sauce which I love but the beets themselves were ok and a bit pricy. They have a kiosk to order from and the kitchen is open so the staff if right there to help you with the menu and you can see them making the boats. The space is nice and there's a side patio area that looks nice too.

Everything was super cheesy, rich, and unbelievably satisfying. I also loved the plain cheese bread boat, sometimes simple is best, and the cheesiness plus that soft bread was amazing. I wasn't as much of a fan of the meat pie, though. The meat was a bit dry for my taste. Still, the bread boats alone made the meal totally worth it! Also should try their stew. My husband was a big fan of it. Staff were very nice! It's a very casual/chill spot.

It's my first time having Georgian food so I didn't really know what to expect but the boat looked pretty cool so of course we had to try that! We got the beef, chicken, and also meat pie. There were also samples of the ideal cake and this was so good!! I want to get the full slice next time I come. The bread boat is like a better version of a pizza. The sauce and cheese are not mixed in yet and apparently you're supposed to mix them yourself and then dip the bread inside but I already devoured it all by the time I read the instructions LOL. It was still really good even without mixing. I'm normally not a fan of bread by itself but you can tell the sourdough is made fresh and you can see the staff rolling the dough. If I only had the meat pie, this would be 4 stars. The meat pie, while it is a big portion, it didn't have any sauce and tasted very salty. Bread boat is definitely the star! Love it. I was surprised that the restaurant is pretty small but it's nice for intimate gatherings. read more

The food here is delicious!!!! Bread, cheese and meat... honestly how can you go wrong? The bread is fresh and fluffy, and the filling is generous, creamy, wonderfully seasoned! I mixed it all up before tasting everything individually because I was too busy talking, lol. But the mix was awesome. Also got the walnut pate appetizer which was sooooooo good! The three blobs are mixed with seasonings and each a different veg: beets, carrot, and green bean. Each has a distinct flavor -- I especially loved the green bean one. And it again comes with fresh housemade bread. And the three little peppers are stuffed with even more walnut pate and just so so so good! It's really all as good as it looks in the photos! Must come back for that meat pie --- we saw someone cut into it with a super satisfying crunch sound and rising steam. Everything is really super fresh here. Come, you won't regret it. read more
Came here for lunch early on a Sunday afternoon. The service was fast and friendly. The indoor space is fairly small, we were able to get seats, but it can get overwhelmed with noise pretty easily. I was surprised at how much takeout business they seemed to have, cheese boats don't strike me as a food that would travel particularly well, but there was a pretty constant flow of noise as a result. If the weather is nice out I'd recommend opting for the outdoor seating I went for the herbed chicken boat and thought it was solid! The cheesy/eggy part worked really well, but I wish the flavoring on the chicken had been a bit stronger. The bread itself was good but had a pretty heavy dusting of flour that I wasn't a huge fan of for some bites I'm intrigued enough to want to come back and try the meat pies, but overall don't think it will be a regular in my rotation. Given the lack of Georgian restaurants in the area I'd recommend giving this a try if you live in the area, but if you're visiting from somewhere that has Georgian food I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to try here read more

Bread Boat is a newly opened Georgian Bakery / Cafe which primarily serves up variations of khachapuri -- essentially cheese filled bread, with an egg (yolk) on top, though they also offer meat pies and cheese pies, a beef stew, and a walnut pâté platter -- so it's a small, focused menu. I stumbled upon Bread Boat after wondering out of Radius Market on the opposite corner. When you enter you'll notice that the kitchen is setup like a bakery; they are kneading and shaping dough. To order in-person, you must go to the kiosk, tap swipe tap, and voilà, your order will be placed. You can also place an order on their Toast storefront. Upon placing your order, you'll wait around for a bit. Eventually, your food will come out. I ordered the savory beef version of their khachapuri to-go. It came in a small pizza box, and now I'm itching to go back and try more of their food. The fillings are savory, and the bread has a nice texture to it. The egg yolk ended up sorta like you'd find in a soft boiled egg, partially runny. Their food also smells amazing. read more

I really enjoyed bread boat. It's the first Georgian restaurant I've come across in Austin and it's near where I work so I dropped by. The bread boats are of course what they're known for and they look AMAZING but honestly I could tell just by looking at the box it would be WAY too much food for me. I asked if they do a half size and they said no. Instead, I got a bowl of beef stew which comes with a couple pieces of the same bread. I had been having a lot of congestion all week and the soup ended up tasting perfect and being the perfect amount of food. It was also hearty but not too heavy so it sat really well with me despite being congested! And the bread compliments it so, so well. If I find myself really hungry and over that way, I will definitely try the bread boat some time! Just be ready for a LOT of cheese, carbs, and fat (ie heavy, but delicious). read more
What do we have here?! A Georgian restaurant in Austin Texas? I could be wrong and there could've already been one but this excited me when they came across my search I haven't had a "khachapuri" since I visited Seattle a few years ago and this place more than satisfied my taste buds! We tried the Bacon bean boat and the veggie boat and both were phenomenal! I highly recommend trying the Ideal cake as well, very tasty and not too sweet. The service was awesome as the staff were all very attentive and friendly tending to everyone's needs and requests. The seating is limited and there is outdoor seating but beware of the Texas heat crashing down. 5/5 and I will be back soon read more

I was across the street at Shaman when this place was mentioned. We decided to try it for lunch and, boy, we are so glad we did! It is a small but cute place with a nice patio that will be even nicer when the building next door is finished. You order at the counter which is easy and I didn't mind the lack of interaction with someone. There are just 2 busy ladies making everything from scratch in the back. We just ordered the original cheese boat with an extra egg to add some protein and then we got the meat pie. The boat was DELICIOUS! It was hot, cheesy and bready. All the things I wanted it to be. I'm not sure if had that kind of cheese before but it was really good! The spice in the meat pie was addicting and the house sauce was my favorite - get it! Get 2! OMBreadBoat I've died and gone into the savory ether world! The Georgian food is literally out of this world. Just a quick walk from our apartment, this cute little restaurant offers more than meets the eye. My boyfriend ordered the Savory Beef Boat at lunch and I went to hang out with him. Not planning on eating since I have a big dinner later today. I started with "I'll just have a bite" until I was five bites in and literally had to pull myself away. Left to my own devices, I'd inhale the entire thing myself. I kid you not. The house-made bread is baked to perfection in an old world homemade fashion. Crispy crust with a flaky interior that was strong enough to hold ingredients without becoming dense or hard. The ingredients...egg, cheese, and an incredible savory beef with onion, peppers, and authentic Georgian spices. I'm telling all of you right now, this is the stuff dreams are made of. Period. Bread Boat is a Georgian cafe and bakery, here for the cheese lovers! Everything felt fresh, comforting, and thoughtfully made. What really stood out, though, was the owner. They were incredibly sweet and genuinely hospitable during our pickup, which made the whole experience feel personal and welcoming. You can tell there's a lot of care put into both the food and the people who come to enjoy it. This space replaced Salt & Time's cafe. There's a handful of tables and ample parking. A nice, new restaurant with a great ambience. Definitely had a great time trying Georgian food. We had the classic bowl, a cheese pie, and the ideal cake. We played it safe, but definitely should have tried a meat dish. All of the food was excellent. It was warm, fresh, served quickly. I don't like having to order from a kiosk, but that does sometimes come in handy. The employees are super friendly and try to be as helpful as possible but struggle with English. You can't go wrong with what we got. The restaurant is small but clean and very modern. The music is great, but not part of the cultural experience. The parking lot is small, but that wasn't an issue. It's a place for good vibes and good eats. Try it out! read more

Very cool and original concept of Georgian bread boat (Khachapuri) in this cute and intimate restaurant! We got the chicken and the bread boat was baked in under 15 minutes. Seating was comfortable with inside and patio option. Chicken was tender and wish it had a little more flavor. Recommend the hot sauce (sadly it's an extra $1). Incredibly tasty! This was my first time trying Georgian food and I was thoroughly impressed. The restaurant has some unique items starting with the bread boats - i'll be comin back to try the stew and the meat pies for sure. For the bread boats, you mix it all up and eat it like a foundue. The owners/staff are very friendly. There isn't too much sitting but they have a small outdoor area as well. The boats are a little bit pricey - I think knocking a few dollars off would be appropriate. Other than that I very much enjoyed my experience here and will be coming back read more

Simple menu, but incredible flavor. My first time trying Georgian food and it did not disappoint. The bread is extra fluffy and soft and compliments the flavorful meat and cheese that is loaded inside. I recommend the medium size as it's just enough to satisfy you. I was there alone for lunch and found it hard to believe that a restaurant this good was this slow, but hopefully after this more people will make the trip because it is worth it. They do not accept cash so be prepared. read more
On my 2026 Bucket List is to try a Total New Cuisine. Last Saturday, that opportunity organically happen. A good friend asked if I was free for dinner and yes... I was! We threw a few options around and then she sent me a link to Bread Boat.. Her message was: Hot Bread, Cheese and Eggs... Need I say more!! I responded With "NOPE" ! When I saw that it was a Georgian Bakery/ Cafe.. I was so excited! I have never had Georgian Cuisine and had no idea what to expect. Oh my goodness... What a gem on the East Side of 7th! Walked in and could smell the fresh bread baking. So charming inside. The gentleman behind the counter was very helpful. Heads Up, this is a cashless establishment. We both got a drink, my friend the Tarragon Mimosa and I had the Georgian House Red Wine. We both also ordered the Beef Stew Bread Boat. I added the House Hot Sauce on the side. Not going to lie, I'm not a raw egg type of girl but I wanted to try this cuisine/dish as it's meant to be. So delicious. The beef stew was tender and almost had a chili feel to eat but when you combine the raw egg and cheese by mixing it all together with parts of the bread bowl.. A creamy, warm, gooey creation was upon me! Loved every bite and ohhhh that house made pepper sauce had a great kick to it. Brought the Bread Boat to another level. One last note, the House Red Wine was served chilled... Another different twist but brought my experience with Georgian Cuisine all together. Can't wait to share the experience again. read more
Amazing Georgian food!! Everything is fresh and the service is very friendly. We came in and it was empty (we need more people here!!) but it started to pick up around 12:30pm. We got the classic and it was divine! Cheesy eggy but the flavors were so good. The bread is amazing! The walnut pistachio dessert was so good. Can't wait to come back and try the Shaksuka like one. read more

What a fantastic adventure this was!!! We rarely step out of our comfort zone...but it is Cheese, meat and bread....Service was amazing and super friendly....Place is small and I will say parking is a bit tricky especially if you have anything larger than a sedan, but possible. We order the Boat with Meat and Cheese....Meat had a tomato forward sauce with some great flavor...Cheese was perfect and the bread was a great match....We literally finished the whole thing in one sitting. We only ordered 1 and it was plenty for 2 people...That sauce that came on the side was delishes and Very spicy...but very addictive...We also ordered some Rolls which is the same bread as the boat...would have been better warmed up, but still great....Lets talk Cake....probably one of the best desserts we have had...Walnut and Honey are a perfect match...just the right amount of sweetness....We would stop just to grab a couple of slice of cake. read more

I split the savory beef Khachapuri with a friend, and it was SO good. The bread had that freshly baked and just out of the oven smell to it. We thought it would be tough to cut through with a knife because it had a pretty thick crust, but it was surprisingly fluffy while still having a lot of substance. I read that you're supposed to mix the butter and raw egg yolk together and then rip and dip pieces of crust in it, so that's what we did. It seemed like the half that had just the butter, egg, and cheese would be kind of plain and the half with the slow braised beef would be the star, but both were amazing! The beef side was spicier than I'd expected, so they played well together. There's enough seating inside for 16 max, but when we were leaving, I spotted a really cute covered patio on the side with about double that, which should be really nice now that things are cooling down. Orders can be placed on two self service screens at the front, but the staff is really friendly and up for answering questions. Highly recommend having a meal here and then popping into the beautiful market/butcher shop two doors over for some goodies after. read more

I have always wanted to try a Georgian bread boat and these did not disappoint! Very rich and flavorful. High quality ingredients. Tastes super homemade. And just a fun thing to eat.
