I left after work at 5 and drove 30 minutes to this place. On the way my boss called and I got stuck talking to her so I parked next to their shop to finish the conversation. It just became 5:30 and it is advertised they close at 6. One of the mechanics came to my car opened the door and the first this he said was "come back tomorrow at 8 we are closed" I simply asked him why because I read online they close at 6. He proceeded to tell me "well if you get off your phone then maybe you would have gotten it done" I was so surprised and told him that is rude and all I need is a smog so I can register my new car. Then he did it but when I went inside to talk to the manager about how rude he was to me and how he opened my car which that in itself is um called for. He literally mumbled something's and was like "yeah I know" and I'll talk to him. While paying at the end the mechanic came up to me and said "you're not happy??" I'm assuming because the manager talked to him, and the manager had to tell him to go away. All of this for a 10 minute smog check 30 minutes before they close. 20/10 DO NOT recommend read more

I have a Jaguar XF and it needed brake service. They did a very good job with a reasonable price to change the pads and one axel rotor. I also had some noise in the front side while driving. I called early today and talked to Mansur, i asked him if they're busy and told me to come at 2:30 pm. I arrived a little past 3 pm and took care of my needs. I came for a smog test and only took 15 - 20 minutes. Oh boy! That was fast and did an excellent job! Mansur is very kind and even offered water. He and his brother in law Mohammed are both pleasant. Family member recommended this place for a smog test, wait time is about 15mins if there's no one before you, they work on two cars I think at a time, so they gave me an eta of 30-45 mins, 3 people before me, so he recommended I go to Starbucks or somewhere nearby and come back in 45 mins, I came back in 40 and that's when then they just started working on my car. He pointed out other issues I haven't paid attention to, next oil service was not due until end of the month or 5k more miles but it was empty they offered oil service which I did, they also pointed out the rear brakes needs to be changed so I got a price quote but I ended up changing it at Brake Masters not too far from them. My 2014 Dodge Challenger needed smog check, called them and they gave me a quote over the phone which was much less than others. Drove there, wait time was reasonable till a non English speaking or barely English speaking older employee came out to tell me he can not give me the certificate because there is a part in my car that was not installed by authorized dealer, therefore I had to go to dealer get an approval then come back. I have had this car for 10 years, with over 120k miles on it, never ever once anyone had told me this story, nor had an issue with getting my smog check passed. Then owner of business (I assume) got involved and started treating me like a 2nd class child explaining what the other said. They charged me $28.75 and asked for me to come back after I take my car to dealership and get them what they want then they will do a free smog check....Was speechless. I walked out of there fuming and made a promise to NEVER return to this place and notify others about these thieves that they suck you in with their low quotes, they do not perform any work and they take your money. BE AWARE PEOPLE...They are NOT THE RIGHT PEOPLE FOR YOUR CAR. read more

First time I've stop by in 2020 for a smog test and became a customer. Mohammad and Mansoor both are helpful and they communicate properly to get the job done as fast as they could. Quick service. This is the most affordable smog check that I was able to find in Irvine. They have coupons online. I walked in on a Tuesday at 11:15am and was quoted to be a 45 minutes wait. I was finished in 25 minutes. They did get busy while I was waiting and some people were asked to come back another time if they didn't want to wait an hour. read more

This smog check location is very dishonest and unprofessional. Please don't come here if you are looking for bad experiences. 1. They still charge you even when the smog check does not pass, or unable to be detected for testing. 2. They charge you twice the amount, and tells you that your next visit is free, when you did not pass this time. 3. They couldn't provide you the correct way to reset the OBDII, but just asked you to keep driving over 60 mph, and said some people had to drive for over 2,000 miles to reset the computer, before the smog check can be done. We have been taking our cars here for smog checks for years! Just brought my dad in with his van for a smog check because he sold it and the service is just as good as ever. Yes, you might have to wait. But they will let you know approximately how long. We left and came back and the van was taken right in. They have a pleasant area outside to sit and wait while they do the testing. They usually have coupons available and you can't beat their price. But, better yet, they are fair! I have gone to Auto Check Center for many years for smog checks because of their coupons, their convenience, and their efficient and kind service--always friendly, helpful, and fair--never pushy. This time my 18-year-old Sienna had a few issues which they noticed and explained to me; I knew about these issues before after an inspection at Toyota, who gave me a list of several items adding up to an estimate of several thousand dollars. I'm glad I waited. Auto Check gave me a reasonable price for just the essentials and were able to do the job that afternoon. They seemed to get it done right--I drove home with a car that ran like new--even though I thought it was doing fine before! I had a car which is newer than year 2000 that required smog check. I went to the shop before 8 o'clock on Saturday morning (they open at 8:00). I was the first customer so the smog check was fast and was done within half an hour. I had a paper coupon for $28.75 and they accepted the coupon. They do charge an additional $8.25 for the cert (normal) -- making the total payment at $37. Process was smooth, except for that the tech, I believe his name is Bob, tried to sell me replacing my spark plugs and some cleanup work for $225. I declined it. I do lots hands on work on my car myself so i know what's going on. Otherwise I would give 5 stars instead of 4. Interesting to notice a poster on the front desk wall that says: "Our rate ____ $/hr" (yeah, ____) "$120/hr if you watch" "$160/hr if you helped" Hilarious! read more
