As always, Alex & Auto Hans exceeded my expectations! I took my 2009 BMW 335i for a diagnostic due to a check engine light with noticeable symptoms of decreased power & fuel economy as well as a rough idle. My fear was that the cost of the issue would exceed what I was willing to put into repairing it based on the car's current value. Alex was very transparent & after running a diagnostic, informed me that the charge pipe was leaking but there was also potential for a bad turbo if replacing the charge pipe did not resolve the issue. He gave me the approximate cost of both & got my input before proceeding with any work. Luckily for me, replacing the charge pipe resolved the issue & my car is running better than it has in the last year! Alex also diagnosed 2 oil leaks while I was there & prioritized them for me, so I chose to get the more urgent (which was actually the less expensive) repaired now & hold off on the other. That's something I really appreciate as opposed to taking my car to the dealer. I feel like they always give me a long list of items to replace & no sense of which really need to be done now vs those that can wait so I leave upset & feeling like my car is falling apart but Auto Hans doesn't work that way. This shop is superbly competent in their skill and professional ethic. Go figure :) , the owner is quite obviously German and educated... My daughter had taken her newly purchased old Beemer to Firestone and was promptly misdiagnosed, useless repairs effected, and overcharged. (Next time call dad first :) ) She was also given an exorbitant estimate to finalize repairs. Poor dad (me) goes to auto parts store and given wrong parts & the darn thing wouldn't even start. Reinstalled old parts and hobbled over to Auto Hans. Within less than a day, the actual problems were correctly identified and repaired. The price charged was literally a fourth of the previous estimate. They also borrowed barely available space from the neighbors in order to protect the car from an impending hailstorm the day we brought it in, as we did not make an appointment. I've not taken cars to Euro repair facilities that much, but this place has to be one of the best if not the best facility in DFW. I am a fairly new first time BMW owner - and I heard horror stories about the cost of maintenance on BMWs which is why most of the Bimmers you see on the road are leased and under full warranty. I purchased a 328i that is several years old but with exceptionally low mileage. All my friends said I need to take it to Alex at Auto Hans. They were right. He's very knowledgeable and the work is done properly the first time. Just out of curiosity - I went to get a repair quote from the BMW stealership - it was TWICE what Alex quoted me for the same repairs and it was not a major repair. Alex even squeezed me in on the spur of the moment when my original OEM battery finally gave out on a very cold afternoon just before closing - that's good service ! We have two Mercedes (ML-550 and SL-55). My SL is 19 years old and it still looks and runs like new. The reason it does is because Alex takes such good care of it for me. My wife's ML is only a couple of years old but I take it to him also. He does fantastic work and is super nice to deal with. Once I took the ML to him and he evaluated it and called me to tell me he could do the repair but recommended I take the car to the dealer where it would be repaired under warranty!!! Who does that?? It is so rewarding to do business with honest people. Alex is one of the good guys! If you own a German made automobile you should be doing business with Auto Hans. Carbon buildup problem.2.0TSI I had postponed fixing my carbon buildup problem for several months. Prior to, I originally went to the dealership about 7months ago, which gave me a gas injection fluid to try and solve the problem. I tried 3 separate attempts of the fluid over the 3 months (prolonged highway driving) along with a change of spark plugs. No improvement noted. Cold start issue persisted. I found Hans Auto. I met with Mr. Alex, who knew - all the issues simply from description - no second guesses to any of my questions, - no hesitation about the right cure or some alternatives I found while reading up on the matter - did not oversell anything - several months of this matter for me was solved in 1 day.
