On Monday 8/6/2018, my air condition stopped working. I decided to take my vehicle to Auto Service Experts since they advertised "Free A/C Check". When I walked in and explained my issue, James (the general manager) stated that this would not be considered a free a/c check since there was no air blowing, meaning that it was likely a blower motor issue. I was confused since the blower motor is an important part of the a/c system, but they diagnosed the issue as a faulty blower motor and charged me a $95.00 diagnostic fee. In addition, I was quoted nearly $600.00 to get the issue fixed ($215.00 for the part plus another $370.00 for labor). Upon further research, I decided to order the blower motor part from Advance Auto Parts for $65.00 and install it myself. Much to my surprise, the entire repair took me less than 4 minutes to complete and only cost me $65.00. The $95.00 diagnostic fee cost more than the entire repair. This is a completely unacceptable business practice and totally unfair to the consumer. From falsely advertising "Free A/C Checks" to quoting nearly $600.00 for a $65.00 repair, this business cannot be trusted. When I tried escalating the matter to get a refund of the $95.00, the business refused to comply. I understand that businesses need to make money, but this is a blatant example of misleading the consumer and charging outrageous amounts. While I recommend NOT doing business with this place at all, please do your research first. read more

This place is incredible! As a car man I usually do my own stuff but when a friends VW broke down I took it here. They had 5 stars on another site by 35 people!! SO I took a risk and boy was it worth taking. I dropped the car off and was immediately greeted with a smile and a team of mechanics that went swiftly to work. I watched them as they did the diagnosis and was pleased to see that they did everything I would normally do. ( the simple logical stuff first, before tearing it all a part). They gave me an estimate that was 400 below the other places and I was glad that mechanics were honest about what they were fixing. It did take a day longer than they had planned but that was only cause the part was out of town. All in all I feel confidant giving them a 5 stars and actually look forward to taking my car to them to get some work done! read more

I dropped my car off around 4p to get my a/c looked at. The front desk lady told me it would be an hour and half. So I had someone pick me up while i waited for them to call me to get my car. The lady called me VERY close to 6p (closing time) and I told her I am on my way yo get my car. I get there at 6:09 exactly, and it's a ghost town ! I don't understand why they would tell me to come get my car and then not be there when I arrived... They didn't even give me the courtesy call that they are leaving. It was 9 minutes past 6p ! I would NEVER do business with them. That is uber unprofessional. I needed my car to run errands. Now thats not happening ! read more

My van needed a serious brake job - a complete set in the front and rear. I called several different places and decided to visit Auto Service Experts. I spoke with the automotive mechanics on the phone quite a few times prior to visiting on the same day. I was able to come in the same day and receive service the same day. I felt that the mechanics explained in detail the work I needed to have completed. They listened to me and did not touch anything else on the vehicle unrelated to the brakes. The brake service was completed in a timely manner and they also installed new wheel coverings on my wheels. I absolutely recommend this shop for brake service. I have had no problems with the brakes during the week I have driven the vehicle since the brake job. I'd like to thank all of the individuals again who worked on my vehicle. read more

My van had a bent axle and needed new engine mounts. Midas had given me a quote, but my parents suggested I Google "best mechanic in San Antonio", and I saw Auto Service Experts #2 had great ratings, so I gave them a call. They told me I could bring my Midas quote in, and the could give me a free quote based on the Midas quote. When I got to the store, I talked to Jason, the owner. I gave him my quote, and waited while he looked up parts, etc. He told me Midas had actually given me a fair price, but that he would do the whole thing including tax, for about $300 less!!! I dropped my van off on a Sat., and it was done by Mon. afternoon. Unfortunately, my husband was only in town for the weekend, and all of the car rental places were sold out because it was Thanksgiving Holiday week. I looked up cab rides online, it would have been a $75 cab ride (I live on the far west side). When Jason called me to tell me the van was ready, I explained my situation, and offered him $30 gas money if he could pick me up and take me to his shop. He said he could drive my van to pick me up, and it wouldn't cost him any gas money at all, for free! He took time out of his day to pick me and my son up (we live about 40 min from his shop), all at no extra charge, he was a lifesaver. He even offered to drive on the way back to the shop! I honestly can't remember the last time I had such great customer service! He now has a customer for life!!! Oh, and the van runs great! read more

Friendly people. Seemed to be honest in their diagnosis and spend time showing you the whats, whys, etc. Feels like the car is in good hands when you talk to them. They seem to know & fix electronic malfunctions too (cruise control). They gave me a lower estimate than some chain shops. Will totally recommend ASE to others read more

If i could rate this place with zero stars i would. I called three times and spoke to the person in charge about labor and parts charges for my car. Didn't take appointments just walk ins, took three hours for my car just to change belts. He quoted me a price over the phone, after they started working on my car,(I left for two hours) when i came back i walked in and he began explaining to me how they were charging me twice the price he orignally quoted me and he openly denied this when i told him we spoke over the phone and he quoted me $100.00. He then told me that he just quoted me for parts, when i clearly asked him over the phone for parts and labor costs. I wouldn't have gotten my car belts replaced here had i known the price he forced on me. I've gotten cheaper labor and parts quotes from from better machanics and i paid $235.00 dollars here. Rediclous. He tried to give me a free oil change but i'll never be back. read more
