I live in Lynnwood and drive all the way down just go to go Steve's shop at Autobahn Autowerkz. It's not as fancy as bringing it to Audi Seattle or Bellevue, but Steve and his team get the job done, and at way more affordable prices. Just driving onto the lot, all you see are Audis and VWs so you know they know what they're doing. He's never tried to upsell me on anything, and he let's me know what things might be coming up for maintenance to be ready next time. I went in for a brake job cause I got an alert on my car, and right from the first phone call he told me that he'll check how bad the rears are and if I don't have to replace them, then we can save it for next time. Ended up doing it anyways and he told me there's some oil leaking from a head gasket issue. Told me it's okay for now but eventually I'm going to want to get it replaced. Considering the age of my car, I already knew things like this was going to come up so I'm prepared. Either way, I'm only bringing my Audi here and nowhere else. read more

This past week my 2010 A3 started leaking coolant & I found myself with a $4700 quote from a local European shop claiming I need a water pump replacement, radiator hoses, an oil pan, sensor, oil change, spark plugs, ignition coils and a carbon cleaning. I've maintained this car on a 5k schedule for the 7 years I've owned it and had it serviced recently, so that didn't sound right to me. In pursuit of a new shop & a second opinion, I came across Autobahn Autowerkz. Gave Steve a call, quote was VERY fair, it was immediately apparent that Steve knows what he's talking about but he let me know upfront that they don't have spots available for the next few weeks. Contacted ~6 others shops hoping for availability or closer proximity to my house, but I personally believe that it pays to have my car serviced by Audi/VW people and not "European" folks (this experience proved my point!) and ultimately ended up reaching out to Steve again, assuming I'd have to wait to bring the car by. Instead, he told me that if I tow it over and don't need it for a few days they'll try to squeeze it into their schedule between cars. Had the car towed from Seattle midday Thursday and within the hour he'd taken a look, given me a call and let me know that the initial repairs I had him quote me for weren't necessary and diagnosed a leaky upper radiator hose due to a broken off plastic nipple. Steve and his team fixed me up by Friday afternoon, saved me $4000+ and got back to me with a very detailed invoice + service description. Truly, truly, I cannot say enough good things but the ones that matter most are the quality work, fair prices & honest diagnoses. No wonder they're busy! The owner gives the rant about how busy he is all the time and won't be able to see my vehicle for weeks , sometimes claims the entire month, always a sob story with this dude. BL;UF Steve is awesome. Definitely a must see if you have a VW or Audi. Any other car, still come here for oil changes, brake work, etc. I called Steve to take a look at an oil leak I'd been having. Since it persisted after I changed the oil pan, I became concerned that the source was some crazy place a normal mechanic wouldn't know about. Steve responded right away to my Yelp message, and I was able to set up an appointment the next morning to have him take a look at my car. I made the long drive from Port Orchard, (no way I was going to the dealer out here after looking at their terrible reviews) and showed up around 0930. He took the car for a quick drive around the block and put it up on the rack. Looking around with a flashlight, he couldn't see any other source for the oil. He explained the integrated washer on the plug was the problem, and basically all I needed was a proper crush washer for the drain plug bolt. He drained the oil, cut off the crappy washer, put the new crush washer on, and refilled the oil. He also cleaned up the gunk and stuff that had been collecting on my engine since I last cleaned it the whole while. He topped off my oil, sold me a few extra washers to last me down the road, and charged me for a half hour of labor. It's been a few days and still no oil seeping from my pan. The shop is immaculate, and Steve's tool drawers are meticulously organized. If I ever have any need for work on my car in the future, I will be making the trip here. read more

The guys were totally cool, let me leave my car a few extra days to make it convenient for me, and were totally honest when they found out that it was a super cheap part. They fixed the part for next to nothing and recommended I bleed the brakes which made a huge difference but I hadn't even noticed was a problem until I saw the difference when I got the car back. Awesome place. Setup an appointment for my girlfriend here to assess some issues with her 2007 Volkswagon. There was an almost two week wait to bring her car in which is not much of a complaint but a possible issue for someone with need for urgent repair. Rather than encourage repairs that could cost more than the value of the vehicle (200k miles / bad chassis) Steve recommended fixing the starting issue, some faulty lights, and the hanging bumper. The car has delayed shifting but dealing with this rather than doing a transmission overhaul was the advice Steve gave. All was fixed without issue and at a more than amazing price. (I really feel like the labor rate should be higher) Anyways, being from out of state and working intensively in the automotive performance & repair industry, I know a couple of bad things to look for with a shop(I don't mean to sound like an ass in saying this!). I took a chance with Autobahn Autowerkz and was impressed. If I'm still in WA when my Volvo is out of warranty, I will definitely be bringing it here.
