This dealership is fine when buying a vehicle, but has the worst service department I've ever dealt with. My previous vehicle was a 2018 Equinox Premier that had a failed intercooler, which their service technician claimed was an aftermarket replacement. Had the technician removed enough components to adequately inspect the part, he would have seen that that it was an OEM intercooler. Nevertheless, in order to get the vehicle back from AutoNation Superstition Springs, I was forced to pay the cost of a full inspection and diagnosis (over $700)! Now, I have a 2024 Equinox EV that has electronic problems that weren't corrected when they had the vehicle for four days, and I've been waiting to hear from the Service writer that the new OnStar module had been received, and I even called last week to check on it, with no return call, only to find out at 10 AM that I was supposed to ave the vehicle in at 7 AM. General Manager, Shane convinced me last time to give them another chance, which I did with this new Equinox. Now I'm done shopping with Autonation Superstition Springs forever Chapman Chevrolet is a little further away, but has a better reputation, especially for GM employees and retirees. read more

If I could have given a zero I would have. I originally had a 5 star review posted for Donald from a year ago but deleted that to provide this feedback. I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at AutoNation during my recent visit. I dropped off my car at 2:15 PM on Thursday, the 20th, even though my appointment wasn't until 2:30 PM. I was told it would take one hour to assess the issue and that I would receive a text with an update--that never happened. The next day (Friday, the 21st), I left a voicemail and three text messages for Robert, my service advisor, starting at 9:51 AM. I didn't hear back from Robert until 12:18 PM, where he casually said, "Sorry, we've been short-staffed all morning." That's unacceptable--your service department opens at 7 AM, and short staffing is not my problem. Because of the delay, I had to take an Uber to my doctor's appointment since I wasn't going to get my car back when I was told I would have it by Friday. Then comes the pricing issue--I was quoted $676 plus tax to fix the broken engine mounts, but I ended up paying $773.99, with only $21.53 of that being taxes. Robert mentioned something about "giving me discounts," but the math clearly doesn't reflect that. This morning, I got a text at 9:13 AM saying my car was ready. I arrived at 10:03 AM to pick it up. While paying, I informed Robert that there's an issue with my online account showing the wrong address, which caused my card to be declined due to the wrong zip code. I also mentioned that I've tried multiple times to fix it, even calling AutoNation customer service only to be transferred to OnStar. Robert showed zero interest in helping me resolve it--he just manually entered the correct zip code and moved on. After I paid, they couldn't find my keys--it took them six minutes to locate them. Not a huge deal, but then I was told my vehicle hadn't even been washed yet. When I asked Robert why, he shrugged it off with a joke, which only increased my frustration. A young employee then asked me if I still wanted my car washed. Of course, I said yes--it's part of the AutoNation service, and after what I just paid, it should have been handled without question. Also, for the record, my vehicle was previously titled to my parents, I now own it. We have never taken this vehicle to another mechanic except Discount Tire. What has happened to AutoNation? The service has declined dramatically. Things like this never happened when I dealt with Donald and Johnny R.--they knew how to treat a customer. Frankly, after this experience, I'll be looking for another place to have my car serviced. AutoNation has seriously dropped the ball. PS I have photos of my bill and the text messages between Robert Adams and me. **I need to add another thing: I had to replace my battery in Jan or Feb of this year. I told the service advisor that I replaced a battery in 2022 or 2023 and was told, nope, the last time the battery was replaced was in 2015. Um, how??, living in AZ, does a battery last 10 years? It doesn't. When I asked that service advisor for help with research, he referred me to the front desk in the showroom, and they provided me with a telephone number. I got so frustrated that I gave up trying to get my money back. I know that there have been several batteries installed since 2015 and no one would take the time to look into my account. As previously mentioned, this vehicle was owned by my parents first, so they had their own AutoNation account that should have been transferred to me in December of 2021 after my father passed. read more

Salesman said he would price match, when we got there it was $1000 more than what was promised. We drove more than an hour to get there and we were promised a price match. Save yourself time and money, they'll do anything to get you in the door. Include trying to rip you off!! Salesman and manager said no one was making money on the deal, which is horrible business, and just them trying to make us feel guilty into paying higher price!! If you are not making money on the deal then why are you doing the deal? They also told us that they had other offers for the vehicle, then sell it to someone else if you need the money that badly!! Don't try to swindle me!! Dealerships are horrible!! Especially this one! Why can't they just be transparent? Don't go here ever!! I know I won't!! You say you have a service department. When you have a problem with your car, you call the service department number and get some boiler room in Texas. They don't care about what the problem is and set up an appointment. I use the term loosely. The appointment they set up is a week out. I arrive at my appointed time, and the service rep does not listen to me but proceeds to tell me that I need to leave the car with them for a week and a half so they can diagnose the problem. They have no loaner, nothing, just leave the car. I ask why can't you make an appointment for when it can be looked at. Nope, just leave the car. I can't be without my car that long. I go to work 35 miles one way every day. And where are you going to secure my car while you have it for some undetermined amount of time? And to make matters worse this is an ongoing problem with my Chevy Bolt that has now escalated to what is a hazardous condition where the rearview mirror/camera system gets so hot I can't touch the mirror. No one but sales answers the phones, you can't talk to the Service manager or anyone else and no one returns your calls if you manage to get to someone's voice mail. Sales tries to put you through, but it just goes to a phone transfer run around until it drops your call. read more

Picked up a certified used car 10 days ago. As I was driving it back to my hometown it became obvious that the vehicle has transmission problems. Auto Nation said its 100% covered just take it near nearby Chevrolet dealership which I did. The dealership confirmed the transmission needed fixed. Six days later and my 100% covered vehicle still hasn't authorized the Chevy dealership to fix it. Do yourself a favor and shop at a more reputable dealership. read more

No persuading, respected all my thoughts, and was straight forward. You have to push some in sales, but they did it professionally and respectfully. A+ to them. Their finance department is shady. Their GM is too good to come speak to you as a customer. They tried to get me to sign a new contract after I had the car for 2 weeks. In the new contract they told me they were able to get me a lower monthly payment. So I assumed they got me a lower interest rate. No they didn't. So I was confused. The finance guy explained that the bank didn't approve the $35,000 loan they were asking for. But they approved $30k. So the finance guy told me they were selling me the car for the amount the bank approved. So they were giving me a $5k discount. Wow. I was excited but also cautious. Well after looking at the papers for a few more minutes I discovered they removed all the warranties I signed up for except one and that's how they were lowering the price. This was not disclosed to me at all. I guess they figured once I sign I can't fight them if I come back to use one of the warranties they took away without telling me. I don't sign contracts with shady people. So I asked for my down payment back and they can take their car. They didn't want to. It's only when I mentioned calling my lawyer that they finally listened to me. These people wasted so much of my time. I made a video about my experience and tag this place. That's how serious and frustrated I am. Leo the sales guy was awesome though. Update - I went on BBB -Better Business Bureau to write a complaint and found this place is NOT BBB Accredited and has an F rating on there. Service Department at AutoNation worst ever encountered. Called for appointment to change out thermostat on Silverado Truck. Appointment not available for a week. Waited a week and took it to AutoNation. Was told it would be 2-3 more days. It was another week in the garage at AutoNation! Two weeks for a simple thermostat replacement. Kudos once again to my Chevrolet Dealer Service Center of choice. After returning to the Valley of the Sun after our summer hibernation I found my two vehicles (2013 Malibu, & 2019 GS Corvette) inoperable. The Malibu had a defective battery cable connector and after a call to Donnie Murphy, we had it delivered by wrecker and scheduled. Then on Saturday, Nov 11th, after showing the Corvette at a local car show it would not start. Since it was Saturday afternoon, and couldn't be repaired right then, Donnie's office mate, Mike, personally made sure it was stored securely and I was allowed to remove my personal items. He also made an attempt to locate the problem to get me back on my way, but the battery didn't cooperate. The AutoNation service staff in Mesa, particularly these two, are always very understanding, and helpful. read more

They don't provide items promised after the sale. 2 weeks after we bought the car we ended up having to pay $600 out of pocket for a new key fob because the car wouldn't start with the crappy valet key originally gave us. 2 key fobs were one of the items promised. The Car was bought in the beginning of December and to this day they still haven't reimbursed for the key we paid for and they haven't provided the second set of keys. I have an appt but service dept is 3-4 days behind and will hold my truck for a total of 5 days to repair a window motor. My pregnant wife and I came in to sell one of our 2 cars before we moved back across the country to Illinois and we're given an offer over 12k for our 2016 Chevy Malibu. We were told it was one of the top selling used cars. A few days later my wife and mother in law returned to accept the offer which we were told explicitly would still stand. When they arrived, the dealership reduced the offer by over 3k just a couple days before we were to leave. They would not work with us, and proceeded to make us pay the remaining 700 on our loan to be able to sell the car, instead of honoring they're own offer or even working with us to just cover the loan on the car. On top of this they have not met the payment period for the payout to the lender, and have continued to be uncooperative. We have since had to pay another $320 while they do nothing. This location in superstition springs has has scammed us out of over 4K in total and showed no remorse towards our situation in having to move across the country or my 6 months pregnant wife. I do not write reviews for anything, but the lack of moral standing from this location is unreal. Will strongly advise against using this location to all family and friends still in the Mesa, Az area. If you hate anyone, send them here. read more

Do NOT go here! Brought my 2020 Silverado RST in here yesterday for an oil change with an appointment scheduled a week in advance for 1pm. I didn't leave until 4:05, not to mention I was a few minutes early. Because I live 11 miles away and their shuttle only goes 10 miles away I was stuck in the waiting area the whole time bored out of my mind. No vehicles on the showroom to look at and it was hot outside so I didn't want to go out there. After getting the vehicle back of course the mirrors, seat and radio were all adjusted differently which is annoying but oh well. I noticed there was also 10 miles added to the odometer... a safety check drive should add less than 5 miles so that was odd but oh well. Here's the real bad stuff... On my way home from work that same evening my CEL popped up and was blinking. This indicates an engine misfire. I ran the CEL code to receive code P0300 indicating multiple cylinder misfires as I figured. This is usually do to faulty spark plugs which should never be bad at only 16,100 miles. I adamantly declined the extra services they offered me being an inspection, fluid top off, tire rotation, filter change etc and part of me believes they tampered with the spark plugs to bring me back to spend more money. If I can prove this is the case my attorney will be contacting this dealership and they won't like the outcome. Now on to another HUGE issue. They ran my truck through their car wash without asking. Doesn't sound too bad at first right? Well they use a "soft cloth" wash that also has one of those spinning brushes in it. In the 1.5 years I've owned this vehicle it's only been hand washed by myself as I am a auto detailing business owner which was clearly advertised on the vehicle. My truck now has swirls in the paint and micro scratches in the trim. This is going to cost me an entire day of work to fix which I feel like billing them for. If they don't reach out with a solution to either of my problems Autonation Chevrolet will have their name blasted throughout the whole car community in AZ, an invoice for roughly $1500 and a potential law suit after I can inspect the spark plugs. Get better, Autonation because the way you're conducting business is completely unethical. No wonder you have such a horrible dating even though it should be worse. read more

I sold my late Aunt 's Subaru Forester to AutoNation Chevrolet Mesa AZ delivering all documents and keys on November 1st and now on November 14th I still have not received payment for the car!! AutoNation Chevrolet Mesa AZ is happy to get your car but has ZERO urgency to get payment to you. They love to bad mouth the other car sellers and act as if they are the honest car brokers. Brett Marr, the manager, even told me if the check doesn't arrive in another 4 or 5 days let him know and they would start the process over again!! This disastrous process he wants me to go through ---again??!! I spoke with the General Manager.. who affirms that the 'check is in the mail. I received better offers from both CarMax and Carvana but thought by dealing with a local Mesa car dealer it would be an easier process so accepting less would be worth it. Horrible experience. Zero stars. Trying to get Warranty Issue serviced, to get reimbursed for towing charge & rental car cost. On 1/26/25 my 24 Chevy Trax, bought 5 months prior died on the Freeway. Loud clunking noise, vehicle jerked, oil leaking out rapidly, engine smoking. I had NO idea at the time what had happened, found out on 2/4/25 that a "rod blew threw the engine block". We called our towing service, had vehicle towed to closest Chevy dealer, AutoNation Chevy Service Center. As a Sunday, closed, so we left our keys with dealership desk. Monday, 1/27/25, someone called to ask us about vehicle. Asked if we had run over or hit something. I told them I honestly didn't think so, I was just driving down the freeway when this happened. They told me they having my vehicle towed to AutoNation Collision to be repaired. I had never even heard of AN Collision. I didn't know why AN Service Center wasn't repairing, however, I assumed they knew what they were doing. 2/4/25, spoke with AN Collision, they informed me that it was quite obviously NOT an issue of something being ran over or hit by the vehicle, that in fact the engine rod had blown through engine, this was obviously a warranty issue a& vehicle needs to be towed back to AN Service Center. Two days later, 2/6/25, we finally heard from Service Center. We were provided with GM Customer Care phone number so we could get warranty claim started. Called CGM CC, they provided GM Roadside Assist phone number for us to set up towing vehicle back to Service Center. GM CC told me that a rental car would be provided as was a warranty issue. We had already been covering a rental car since 1/27/25. Have to be able to get back and forth to work. Vehicle towed to Service Center on 2/6/25. On Monday, 2/10/25, I receive a text and call from Service Center asking me, "Have you by any chance did your first oil change." Insinuating that perhaps a faulty oil change caused engine failure? No, I had not had the oil changed, not due for another 1,500 miles. We asked that day, 2/10/25 about the rental car service being set up as we were paying for ourselves. Finally, on 2/11/25, after 3:00pm, we received a call back, voicemail left, stating, "you possibly need a rental car". REALLY? So yes, they finally got us a rental car. Fast Forward, my vehicle is ready for pick up on 3/3/25. However, before I can pick up, I must pay for the towing of vehicle from Service Center to Collision Center on 1/27/25. $287.00 later I have my vehicle. We ask my Service representative about getting reimbursed for rental car. He had me email my receipt from Enterprise & stated to me, "the rental should be reimburse from the time it arrived here and let here they wont reimburse for the time it was at the collision center unfortunately." So, from 2/6/25 to 2/11/25? Well now they say they won't reimburse any of rental car fees. Mike, a manager, said he would not cover, "when you put yourself into a rental car". He said that it was not determined to be a warranty issue before they provided rental car. Wow, so if someone at the service center had taken the time on 1/27/25 to even look under the vehicle they would have seen the huge hole in the bottom of the engine. Then they wouldn't have sent this to the Collision Center. If they had even looked at the vehicle sooner than 2/10/25, like when it arrived on 2/6 or any day in between, it would have been determined it was a warranty issue sooner. So, we are stuck with the rental car bill & the towing bill. Remember we covered vehicle being towed from freeway to Service Center and GM Roadside covered it being towed from Collision center to Service Center. But I had to pay the towing bill for it to be moved from Service Center to Collision Center. Crazy. Just want my $485 reimbursed. read more

(have had this covered at this location and others in the past, this is 6th time in shop in 1 year) When I picked up truck today I spoke to him directly and said this was the worst experience ever and would not be back. They never get back to you on a realistic timeline and cost me more money in vehicle repairs than needed. I went in for a routine oil change and asked to check my breaks. I told them they were OK. I went on a road trip with a camper to find out my pads were rubbing metal on metal and damaged my rotors. This is just one example, but I have more. I decided to go to Autonation mesa way better service and faster repair. They are way more knowledgeable and helpful. read more

I had the truck towed in for failure to start On June 22nd. The check engine light was on and nothing else. They said the batteries were dead and replaced them. When I picked it up the ABS, BRAKE, and StabiliTrac light was on. I returned it the next day but they said they couldn't get to it right away. I was going to Colorado on June 25th so we agreed I would bring it back in on July 6th. I picked it up on Friday the 9th and before i even got out of your parking lot the same lights were still on. I returned it on Tuesday the 14th and picked it up that same evening. Now i am getting warning light for the same problems again. I am now scheduled to bring it in again for the fifth time on the 21st. Another related issue, when I dropped it off on the 6th, I told Mike that i didn't have much money and would replace the DPF myself. I told him I could by genuine GM parts for $1800. He said he could get it for the same price so I let him replace the filter. When I picked up the truck I saw I was charged $2600 for the DPF. that's $800 dollars for parts and more for labor I could have saved had he been honest with me. I am extremely disappointed in Autonation Chevrolet and unless something is done to rectify this situation I cannot recommend your services. read more

Well now you know why they have a 2 star rating. I visited the dealership yesterday to ask a question about the infotainment system in my new Silverado truck. When the salesperson approached me and I said I had a question about the calling features he asked me if I had bought the truck there. After telling him no he replied that I should go back to the dealership I bought it from. He then went on to say he just sells the cars and doesn't know anything about how they function. Talk about well trained. Then I went to the service department and the service advisor did not know the solution either. He was polite and wanted to help, he just did not know. I called the Chevrolet technical support line today and they were able to come up with the solution to my question. Although I have used the service department for several of my cars in the past I will no longer use them as it appears incompetence runs through the entire dealership. Went in on saturday 9/16 because my truck failed on over the air updating. The younger Hispanic service advisor was really rude and condescending. Looked un professional and made us stand next to his office and wait for almost 30min before he would say anything to us. (He was not busy) Said they do not give loaners out on saturdays which is bs. Said his managers name was shane. Thinking shane should fix the no loaners on saturdays because that's not very customer oriented. Advisor pretty much said to F off so that's what we did. read more

My husband and I purchased two vehicles last summer, and after having such a great experience with Tony we decided to refer my parents. We were promised a referral bonus and have patiently been waiting.. however, I have followed up on it many times (via text with the salesman and phone call attempts to the sales dept), but never receiving any follow up or resolution. Finally, last week while my husband and I were getting both our vehicles serviced we decided to stop by to check in again about the referral and the manager said he'd get back to me.... We waited a whole week and hadn't heard anything. No call, text, email, nothing. I attempted to call the business Wednesday 2/21 to check in for an update around 1800 and after battling with their horrible automated system and no one picking up the phone - the gentleman I finally was able to get to on the sales line was rude, unhelpful and actually hung up on me and continued to block the calls after that. I decided at that point to just cut my losses, and never refer anyone here anymore and to never return myself. To top it off, Let's not forget to mention that the service department also LOST my husbands truck last summer. Literally. We had dropped it off for a bumper replacement, and they lost it. It was impossible to reach anybody, nobody had any idea what was going on.. and It took them DAYS to get someone to find our truck. DAYS. We honestly Should've learned our lesson there. 10/10 would not recommend. We have given them shot after shot and clearly they are not a trustworthy business. UPDATE: after leaving my google review I received 3 calls + very passive aggressive voicemail on 2/22 from a Juan, the sales manager. I have saved the inappropriate voicemail and will be escalating this. Such a shame considering we thoroughly enjoyed our experience with the gentlemen that sold us our vehicles. The search inventory function is the worst I have ever seen, clearly to make you frustrated and just go to the dealership. But we finally after long time looking, ordered a truck. Forced to do the dance, play the salesman game, waste a sunday at the dealership--put deposit down. Asked ALL WEEK where the truck was since we are leaving town tomorrow and wanted it. No answer. Finally after bugging twice today they call. And say oops guess someone sold it last night. Say what? My deposit held, 14 day wait and you sold it --to whom? a higher bidder?
