Last time I went for an oil change it took close to 4 hours. Had an appt for today at 8am, thinking things might move quicker earlier. Nope, got there only to find over 30 cars in line then told wait would be over 3 hours. That is just insane. Why are they over booking like this?? 1/5 stars -- Do not trust this dealership or their service department This has been one of the worst experiences I've had with a dealership. My Land Cruiser has only 4,500 miles and has already been in for service 3 times for a serious suspension problem, and they still won't properly troubleshoot it. Over bumps and cracks, the vibration is so bad that the vehicle loses control above 55 mph. I've had 3 sets of tires swapped trying to chase down the issue on my own because they wont and it's still not fixed. Something is wrong with the suspension or drivetrain. Management makes promises and then stops responding. Their service manager, Brandon, personally asked me to take down a previous negative review back in May, promising he'd make things right. As soon as I removed it, he then ghosted me completely. If you're considering buying here or using a warranty here, don't count on it. They'll say whatever keeps their review score up, not what actually gets your car fixed. A genuine safety issue like a vehicle losing control at highway speed should never be treated this casually. read more

However, they ended up selling my Volvo and NEVER processed the DOL paperwork to transfer it out of my name! The new owner lives in California and generates tickets and fines. DO NOT TRUST THEM AT ALL!!! 2023 Camry. Took it to them for my included 2 years of services with the new car. That's over so just went to change my oil. First off, their last service was I have been changing my own oil for over 40 years. I KNOW what I'm doing. Got under there, and the filter was some off brand I never heard of. Their invoice say YZZN1 which is genuine Toyota oil filter. What was on there was some cheap brand I never heard of. Went to put on new Mobil 1 M1 103A filter. Could NOT get it on. tried and tried. Ran out and bought Toyota brand filter, it was hard as hell to get on. Got to a point I couldnt turn it any more. hard to see, but thought it was all the way on. filled with Mobil1 oil, started car, oil shooting everywhere. Took Toyota filter off, and put off brand back on, decided to give mobil1 another try. Finally got it on. Tight. bought more oil and filled it. so far so good. They obviously used some cheap ass dollar store filter and probably screwed up the threads. Oh and before last service they kept emailing me telling me they replace windshield wilers for free. Lucky it was under Toyota warranty so we never used our extended warranty that cost us $3300. We traded the car in 2025 and have been trying to get a refund on the extended warranty for two months. We followed all the instructions and sent them a registered letter saying the car was sold and we were asking for a refund as in their contract. NO REPLY! Called 10 times and only got. ..... Randy and Kyle did a really wonderful job in being transparent in our purchasing options, the way the industry works, and our best steps moving forward when we had a difficult trade-in that we needed to do. I really appreciated the time they took to work with us. Poor Randy had the day off and still connected us with his teammate, Kyle. I had a sour experience trying to buy a new tacoma. We found the one I wanted and our salesperson was awesome and attentive. I got an offer that had my out the door price at $34,520.62 (signed by the sales manager). I was ecstatic and ready to buy after being told this price wouldn't change. The next step was to pull my credit. Once this was already done and my credit took a ding, the manager Michael Miller walked over saying there was a huge mistake. He said a quick sorry and left promptly. Just like that our price is back to the original $38,932 plus tags, title, fees, etc. Rightfully so we walked out on them. Mistake or not that should have been honored especially since my credit was pulled after we agreed to a price originally and it was signed by a manager. After walking out to my car, Michael came back out with a new offer that brings the truck down to $39,073.79 after taxes and fees. He told me that I am better off going to Walmart to sell my current truck for $2500 to someone in the parking lot. What they wanted to do now was to give me money back and keep the truck to fix the damaged roof top the right way and resell the truck for more money and I told them no. Such greed people. Be careful. They are an old school dealer that uses every trick in the book. Our sale took seven hours. After 5 hours and signing all the paperwork we were told that our car had been sold to somebody else and we could have a similar car the next day. We agreed to wait and come back. We were getting ready to leave and we're told the similar was available immediately. Unfortunately we agreed to take the new car. Driving home we almost ran out gas. I work in finance, so I am very clear on how financing is arranged and how the buyer should be treated. I was assisting my 19 year old nephew in buying his first car. When he went to the dealership on his own, they collected a large down payment deposit and had him sign the truth in lending prior to having financing in place. They eventually arranged financing at terms that were not even close to what had originally been quoted on the truth in lending. When working with the finance manager to find an alternate solution, they came off as condescending and rude. Probably why their reviews on Yelp are as bad as they are. My sister in law bought a fantastic new car from here. But she had issues with her maintenance contract ( she had two to the time of $3070)and was belittled my maintenance manager and literally harassed. So she cancels maintenance program through Totota corp, only to find out her contracts (she has two because she bought maintenance and extra care after two days after purchase)were written wrong and her first cash deposit wasn't transferred by finance guy ( probably an accident because she added the care packages and that was paid for by credit card which prob caused some confusion). She calls Finance manager Nick C. and he is so rude and doesn't return her phone calls ( 7 documented calls). I step in because my sister in law is losing it and Nick won't help and is super cocky! Customer service gets involved , but it goes nowhere because we have called 5on your side and they are mad. Next, finance guy calls 5 on your side and basically threatens them because " Toyota advertises with them" mafia style I say! There is so much more to this than I can even say! After 2 successful transaction I decided to buy the Rav4 at the end of the lease. They made me wait over 3 hours to accept my credit union's check and to complete way too much paper work. The Rav had very low mileage and was worth more then the residual so they tried to convince me to trade. When I finally went into the finance 'torture chamber' the finance manager presented a service plan (which she mislead the value), failed to include my credit union as lien holder (which was required and clearly stated on the check), and over charged me for some of the taxes. I attempted to contact the director or any manager that could help, 12 phone calls (the majority answered by salesmen) netted me a few voice mail messages I left with management. I have been working with AutoNation's customer service (witch also took several phone calls and emails), a lot of promises and finally a title revision to include my lien holder. I also got a check for the overcharge on the taxes but I never received a refund for the service plan that was cancelled in early May. I am sure Tempe Toyota realizes that they lost a loyal customer, but I am surprised the AutoNation corporate is not more concerned. I probably will have to get a lawyer envolved. read more

Ugh If I can give this place zero stars I would. First, the name of this business page should be AutoNation Toyota Scion of Tempe. I add the "Toyota" in there because I expected better from a Toyota dealership. I love Toyotas, I loved all the Toyotas that I've had in my life and I am a loyal customer. But this Toyota Scion of Tempe was awful. The general manager greeted us in his little golf cart when we first got there and walked us up to a salesman and offered us water bottles. Great start. Maybe if he had stayed with us the whole time this would have been a much different review. However the salesman he introduced us to was ghastly. He wanted to have us fill out a credit app after the very first car we saw and when we declined jumping the gun so soon without seeing other models, he got angry! Like not verbally, but you can tell in the way curt way he was talking to us and not putting any effort into finding anymore cars for us. He said goodbye to us before we were even done looking! He even lied about his name after he saw me check in on Yelp (as if I didn't already swipe his business card from his desk)! I've been to AutoNation Toyota Scion before, and had a bad experience but I have never been treated so rude before. I sure as hell am not going to pay for a $30,000+ car here after this. This review is for the service department. I brought my car in for an oil change ($49.95 after coupon!) and asked the tech run my check engine light code. The service manager refused to run the error code because he said that it would not solve the problem and he recommended I do a full diagnoses at around $85 per hour. I declined and asked him to humor me and run the error code which he again refused. The next day I went to Auto Zone and they ran my error code and pointed out that it was caused by my gas cap not being fully tightened. It is remarkable that the dealership charges $50 for an oil change that you can get elsewhere for $20-30, refuses to do a simple service check, and tries to charge for something that is completely unneeded. I have been a loyal customer of Power Toyota since I bought my Scion in 2009. However, after my last visit I will be sure not to return. I went in to purchase four new tires as a routine maintenance and left with my car in awful condition! First, the rep told me it would take 2 hours to complete and after the 3rd hour, I sill didn't have my car. I had to contact them to check in on my car as they were not courteous enough to contact me. After the third hour of waiting, I finally got some information regarding my car and I was informed my SUB ARM was bent. After Googling the issue, this usually happens after a car accident or running into a curb at high speed. OR a mechanic drops your car from the high-rise. How convenient. The dealer took no responsibility for the issue even though I have never been in an accident in my life. They "discounted" my service taking off the cost of the alignment (even though they didn't align my wheels) and said they'd replace the SUB ARM for $500 additional dollars. I asked that they did not complete the service as I felt they were being incredibly dishonest and they returned my car in worse condition. I will never be back; Power Toyota has lost a loyal customer. read more

Go somewhere else!! I took my Tacoma in for regular maintenance and a recall issue, what a nightmare! I received a rental car after insisting that I was not going to go without a vehicle for an undetermined amount of time since they didn't know when the part would arrive. When I returned to pick up my truck the cashier insisted I owed money, but could not figure out where the charge came from. After explaining that I DID NOT owe money, he said they would be pulling my truck up shortly. That never happened. He then wanted me to wait for their manager that was MIA to sign off on the paperwork, that was their mistake to begin with. I waited 45 minutes and became very frustrated. After a few 4 letter words and raising my voice I finally got someone to give me my keys. I told them that I refused to wait around for them to fix a billing problem on their end, and I wanted my truck. When driving away a young kid smiled and waved at me saying, "Have a nice day!" I told him I didn't appreciate his sarcasm, but he continued to act immature and unprofessional. Worst service ever!! Will not return if I value my time. I paid $881 for an extended warranty through this dealership. I made an appointment for today for an oil change with the Earnhardt Toyota by my house and took time off from work to drive out there. After showing up they told me that my warranty is only good at an Auto Nation Toyota or a Pep Boys. Now I work the next 6 days in a row and drive nearly 100 miles a day; no idea when I can schedule another oil change. Toyota is supposed to be a large, reputable company. Luke Lopiccolo called me to say they had a 4Runner in stock that I was looking for. He explained that he could only hold it until I got there if I came in that evening. I offered to give a payment over the phone to make sure they hold it until I arrived but was told it was not necessary. Luke sent me a credit application to fill out online and asked that I send it before leaving which I did. With an 845 credit score, financing was not an issue. I rearranged my schedule to leave work early and then decided to call one last time when I started the 1 hour drive to AutoNation Toyota Tempe and verify that everything was on track and there would not be any problems. That is when Luke decided to tell me that there was someone in the process of buying the 4Runner. Total scam dealership trying to get people in for the upsell. Have purchased two vehicles through AutoNation Scion Tempe, and have always been treated great by Eddie and his great team down there. Scheduling appointments is extremely easy, and any issues that have arisen with my vehicle under warranty were always honored. In fact, when the throwout bearing (under powertrain warranty) went out on my car and resulted in significant smoke/burn damage to my clutch (manual transmission), AutoNation ensured that I would have a new clutch replaced on my vehicle as well. This was a class act on their part, and I respect the service reps at this location along with the management.
