Here's the trick: Auto Zone will run the diagnostics on your car whenever your check engine light comes on. They'll also install a battery for you. They'll do your windshield wipers too. They help out a lot for those of us who don't know exactly what to do when these annoying car issues occur. I've been going to this location for over 12 years and they're always as helpful as can be. Had to ask for assistance, gave him everything I'd written down from a supervisor I'd spoken to early to look up my info for further assistance, and was met with rude pubescent-like attitude. I love the way they do business here. After a frozen nut would not allow them to change an air filter at Take 5 oil change, I came here and Derrick (bless his soul) went out of his way to unbolt the entire air filter box and work the nut loose using a rust dissolver and lubricant I bought right at Autozone. Derrick knew what he was doing because he has worked on cars, had the right tools, and finished pretty quickly. Maybe this place is helpful, maybe they have decent parts, but I think that everyone needs to read the following. First of all, I don't shop for parts at any AutoZone because the last time that I did, it took 3 trips and 3 starters to get one that worked. After installing 2 defective ones. That was fun... Having noted that, this particular AutoZone won't be getting much good press from nearby businesses nor their customers. My wife, and most others that go to businesses near there, have been able to park in the remote areas of the AutoZone lot for years. Well, apparently it's now under new ownership and a discreet sign was posted prohibiting parking anywhere on the lot. Several people got towed today. To my knowledge, the owner of this business said nothing to surrounding business owners. Nor did he/she or any of his employees warn anyone obviously walking across the street to other businesses. In no way am I writing that a business owner should not be able to enforce parking rules on his/her property. It's not that. The problem is that the policy changed, it wasn't obvious, and no one was warned. Businesses in this area tend to be "good neighbors." This one is not. I will NEVER buy anything here. read more

Ive been here 3 times and each time the guys have been super helpful. The last time I was in they helped me put a battery in my car. This time I needed my bulb replaced on my rear taillight. Its not that they do it. But its how they do it. They are always knowledgeable, friendly and willing to help. They don't act like your bothering them when you need extra assistance. I went in to get parts for a brake job. The first time i went in right when they opened and had a guy that had a grey beard and bald on top who was rude as hell. This Autozone a great place to stop and get your basic car needs taken care of. (lights, wax, fluids, fuses, wipers, batteries, etc) If you need parts for a major repair, they have a large parts department and can order it in if they do not have it in stock. The store is located in good location, they have a large parking lot, keep things clean, and it is right off high street so it is easy in and easy out. This location is well oganized and well stocked. Their employees are friendly and attentive, know their store and their products, and are helpful in answering all your questions. Management has always seemed to have enough employees to help on the floor and behind the counter. They offer error code diagnosis and battery testing at no charge. Not only did Chris find the headlight for my 2016 Subaru, without me even asking, he also installed it for me, tested it and explained how to do it in the event I switch it out next time. This location of AutoZone has some very knowledgeable staff members. They are extremely helpful when it comes to finding parts and just generalized help in the automobile repair advice area. There was a part they did not have and they were really intuitive about attempting to help me find it. Conveniently located and a staple with the Clintonville community. The prices are a little high sometimes than Advanced Auto Parts and O'Reilly but they do offer price match. That wouldn't help anyone who don't know that but hopefully this review brings that knowledge to you. read more

Okay, i'll admit here and now that i'm pretty far from what someone would describe as a Car Girl. But I am pretty in love with my little Del Sol. This car, although adorable is old and spent a lot of its life in South Carolina so there were some sun related issues. The workers at this autozone were absolutely fantastic to me when I asked how to take care of removing the tint on the windows, and the best way to take care of the dash... Not only did the person spend about twenty minutes with me, he actually walked out to my car with me to see what the situation was. I am sure that I was more than annoying, seeing as I know little to nothing about cars, but this guy was beyond patient and polite. This has been my experience every time that i've gone in. I think there's something to be said for putting up with a completely naive customer with a smile on your face. Details and specs: The parking lot is spacious, the store itself is quite big, and the horridness of the huge sign is not significant of the quality of the store and has been a problem no matter what business has been there. And when I walked in looking a little lost, needing to fix some scratches, several employees helped me find what I need and explained how to use it. Our car wouldn't start after we went to the farmers market. We got a jump and then called Auto Zone right by the market. Excellent customer service. They confirmed they could replace our battery. 15 minutes later Pete (super friendly and professional Store Mgr) had finished changing our battery and we were on our way! Took my battery core back to get my core deposit on Sunday. The system automatically kicked it back on a gift card which had already been tossed since I had used it up. There was apparently nothing the guy could do to make it reimburse to the other card I used on the original payment. He instead made a note of the transaction, what the issue was and then reimbursed me in cash saying he'd just explain it to the boss the next day. I had to have been starting to get visually frustrated and I really appreciate that he was willing to put his own butt on the line like that. I wish I had thought to catch the guy's name. After reading the reviews for this Clintonville store, I'm wondering if my visit caught them on a (really) BAD off-day or what.... Nevertheless the store is on my bus route and I was looking for a somewhat specific part (large rubber gasket) so I stopped in. Neither of the two employees in the store seemed inclined to help me and barely acknowledged me. One seemed deeply engrossed in texting on his cell phone while the other presented a "lights on but nobody's home" face and greeted me with, "Yeh, what did 'ya need?". I noticed the texter was also sloppily dressed with a very dirty tee-shirt hanging out from under a store shirt, and what looked like most of his lunch spilled down the front. He dismissed me and told me to check out hardware stores but had none in particular to point me towards. I hesitate to even refer to these employees as practicing poor customer service as there wasn't any service evident. All of this transpired when there were less than 3 cars in the lot, no other customers in the store and around the luncheon hour. read more
