Earlier this week while driving down an unpaved road, I got a tad to close to the side and a Mesquite bush lightly scratched the side of my car. It was not serious and I knew I could buff it out but I didn't know what kind of compound I should use. I'm from out of town and the AutoZone where I live, has helpful and knowledgeable employees so naturally I searched for an AutoZone nearby. I walked into the business and talked with an employee, Genia and asked if she would come outside to take a look at the scratch on the side of my car. She came outside with me, looked at the scratch, took her finger and immediately was able to rub some of the residue off. We went back inside the store where she showed me a line of products that would effectively buff the scratches out. She told me that I did not need an expensive compound because the less expensive ones were basically the same product. Genia was knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and did not try to sell me a more expensive product. She was pleasant throughout my visit. She is definitely an ambassador for this place of business. Auto zone have Bosch and name brands like STP etc.... There auto parts are of a high quality and seem to last longer and fit better than Oreilly or pep boys. I love the online ordering system and the fact you can just walk in and pick up the part. Keep up the standard and you will crush the competition read more

Yesterday we went to the autozone on Reems Rd. in Surprise, Arizona to test our battery. Nelson helped us and he was amazing. He helped to remove battery acid and corrosion so he could test our battery and we definitely needed a new one. We purchased one but Nelson was unable to remove our old battery because of the corrosion on the terminal. We had to repair it the next day. When we repaired we had to purchase a battery from the dealer. We tried to return the battery at the autozone nearest to our home on Grand Ave in Peoria, arizona The "manager " Matthew Shoop was super rude, unfriendly and unhelpful. I explained that I wanted to return a battery that was unused and never installed because the autozone employee couldn't remove the old battery due to a bad terminal. He told me that he wouldn't process a return because we had installed it which was impossible because the old battery was still stuck in the car. I asked him to call Nelson at the surprise location and he refused. He said if you want you can call them or leave and go there but I will not return this item for you and there's nothing I can do for you. I am super irritated and upset about the lack of concern, friendliness and common decency this employee showed. He was disrespectful and condescending. I would not keep an employee like this. I've never reviewed an Auto Parts store before - mostly because I never thought of it. Just another retail store, go in, pick out your windshield wipers or motor oil, pay for it, and get out. But the people at this store make it one worth going to. Not too long ago, I went there with a taillight out... they went out and changed it for me! Just yesterday, the battery in my friend's car was having trouble starting, so I drove over there, and they tested it without me even having to take it out first. They even offered to let me borrow the tools and change it right there in the parking lot! Now I don't know if they are the cheapest, but they give something that's becoming increasing hard to find these days... great customer service! read more

We called from a few miles up the road with a dead battery. We called this store ahead of time asking if they would be able to do the swap and they said they would. When we arrived they said they couldn't do it due to a technicality but they didn't read enough on the computer to say that told them couldn't. Not only that but then they couldn't jump the battery so we could take it to a place that can actually swap batteries. So now, because the incompetent employees inability to read we were stuck at this location, hours away from home waiting for a tow. read more

ATTENTION REWARDS MEMBERS: Received "$20 Bonus Reward" coupon in my email. Was very excited to use it. Coupon said I needed to spend $100 or more to get $20 off, which I did. Grand total was $138.25. When clerk scanned my coupon it did not take anything off. He said it would not apply since some of the products I was purchasing were on sale. It was listed in the fine print. Store #2714 opens @ 7am. I get there early (6:52) no worries, I'll wait. It's now 7:08 when an employee shows up, unlocks the door and locks it behind him. Now 7:14am no sight of the employee, doors still locked. I called the District Mgr. listed on the sign to let him know I was standing out front of the store and the doors are locked. He said he would call them. It's 7:18 the employee finally unlocks the door. I grab what I needed (brake fluid, washer fluid) . Go up to the counter to check out, the employee is on the computer, still waiting a few and then the phone rings. Instead of even acknowledging that I was standing there he answered the phone, helped that customer "Let me go see if that's on the shelf." I'm waiting, he's back on the phone. I left the items on the counter and went a little further down the road to WalMart. Maybe if you're the only person working you should arrive early so your store can open on time and assist customers. read more

Stopped here because my check engine light came on and I heard a radio commercial that they can do a quick diagnostic. I waited a very long time to get help. There was only one guy helping customers. Another employee walked through and apologized that he couldn't help because he had to take care of a delivery. We were told the manager was on the phone and couldn't help customers either. I was one of 3 people in there with the same "check engine" issue. I guess their ads are working, but they are ill prepared to handle the customers. I left irritated and grumpy. read more

I purchased a battery from a location on Bethany Home today in the afternoon. I got home and was trying a few things BEFORE trying the new battery. Lucky for me it turned out that I didn't need this new battery. I then headed to this location to return the battery, as it's close to my home. I got there a couple hours prior to close, and was helped by Jose. I explained I needed to return the battery and from that moment he was rude. He told me if I used (installed) the battery then I'm "out of luck and would have to rely on a warranty" those were his exact words, he then grabbed the receipt without giving me a chance to speak and say that the battery was not used and told me that I would have to return the item to the store I bought it at. I've NEVER heard of this, nor does it say this on the receipt. I've gone to autozone for many years and returned things at different locations than the purchased location. I didn't want to stand there and argue with someone who clearly was treating my like I was an inconvenience. I took my things and left; at this time I chose to call the location where I purchased the battery at, and explain the situation. Where I was told I was lied too, that a return can be done at any location w/ a receipt. It's really disappointing to be lied to, especially at a place where people are putting their trust in the workers and their expertise. I could never imagining taking things to a level where I needed to lie. I get that returns suck, and maybe it effects his numbers or sales, but that is part of the job. Really bad customer service on your part Jose, you should have integrity with your job. read more

Went in today to have the car battery replaced, which was supposed to be under warranty. But according to the person who checked out the battery 'It's not good, but it's not bad.' Um, what? Apparently all they could do, instead of replacing a FAILING CAR BATTERY, was offer to charge it so it could just fail on some later day and THEN they could replace the stupid thing. Ok, what part of that makes sense? You acknowledge it's failing, and is going to fail, but you can't do anything other than prolong it? Why not just replace it now? So instead of getting it replaced under the warranty it was decided that the car would be taken to the dealership, WHICH WE SPENT ALMOST THREE HOURS AT, and have them replace it. And oh, by the way, as soon as the dealership tested the battery, guess what? THEY CONCLUDED IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IMMEDIATELY! Hmmm, how strange that the place that predominately sells and replaces batteries couldn't see that. And I'd like to add, to the person who tested the battery, your complaining about how slammed the store was and how many people needed batteries did not help the situation at all. read more
