I came into this AutoZone to do a simple return of an online order and the two teenagers who were working the counter just gave me the gen-Z stare like I asked them a question about nuclear physics. I showed them my order on the AZ app on my phone and handed one of them the product I was returning. I had to ask "hello?" To him to get him to respond and he said he couldn't do anything without the box. I told him it didn't come in a box, just loose like this with a bunch of other stuff I ordered. He stared in silence again. I told him I would take it to another location with adults and left. The other teenager working there who had roughly 12oz of metal pierced into his face never even looked up from his phone. If I could give negative stars I would. We bought an engine from auto zone in feb 2022. The engine has a 4 year warranty. Funny how not even a year later we are without a car as the engine was no good. Since the beginning of January 2023 we have been waiting to get our replacement engine. After they waited 2 weeks to even order the replacement, I was told a rush was put on the order and I'd have my new engine in 4-5 weeks. It is now the middle of March and still no engine. We went to this Autozone location to buy spark plugs for our car. I called ahead of time to make sure they had the correct plugs in stock at this store. When I arrived, I asked for the plugs for my car's year, make, model and engine, and the cashier came back with the wrong plugs. I asked him to double check, and he apologized and went back and grabbed different plugs. He checked again and assured me that they are the correct plugs. I changed coils, inspected my intake valves, Changed my oil at this time as well. After this service, My car began misfiring, and the CEL. Came on, to the point I could not drive it. I had to have my car towed to a shop, where upon further inspection they had found that the spark plugs were infact the incorrect ones. Then after replacing the plugs, the car still didn't run correctly, upon completion of a compression and leak down test, I was told that I had a cracked piston ring. I can't say for sure this was due to installation of the incorrect plugs... However, I also can't rule it out. I clearly shouldn't have trusted that they were correct. I clearly should have inspected both my old set of plugs and the new set. I don't know if the information in the system is incorrect, or what happened to cause the incorrect plugs to be given to me. However, it would have been nice to at least be offered a refund for the plugs as now I get to pay upwards of $8,000 for a new engine. However, when I called, I was told since I installed them, I couldn't get a refund. I did in fact install them, no doubt about that. read more

My mom purchased two batteries from this boulder hwy store back in April of 2022. The associate gave her such a difficult time looking up her account and giving her credit for her battery cores that she had brought in. Now her batteries are dead and broken and needed to be exchanged for new ones. Because of how poor her last experience was she didn't want to return back to this store so my husband and I decided to help her out and do the exchange for her. Last night, we get there 30 min before closing to handle the exchange and the associate and parts manager helping us kept telling us they couldn't find the warranty. We literally had brought the original purchase receipt with us. She said we would have to bring it to the original store where the purchase took place. We were literally standing in the store where it took place. It's like it was her first day as a manager. Come to find out, once the purchase had been complete in April of 2022, the original associate didn't add my moms information to the warranty. The shift manager at this boulder hwy store started out by giving us the run around and saying they would not be able to do the exchange without the warranty information. I look at the receipt and read the whole thing until I see where it says first name, last name, and 702-000-0000. I ask her if the original associate must of setup the warranty incorrectly and she agreed. I frustratingly exclaimed how much I hate incompetent employees. She said that we would need to wait until the sales manager returns on Monday before we could see if maybe he'd agree to help us. I told them my mom had work at 5am on Monday and she needs her truck running to get to work. She said there's nothing she can do. I called my mom to see if she wanted me to buy new batteries and she said she would prefer that but from a different company. I said okay. I asked the associate what time on Monday would the sales manager be in. She didn't know what time and then started to say she doesn't know if he'd even be in because he was returning from Covid leave. So it changed to Monday or Tuesday and she had no idea what his schedule is. I told my mom all this and gave her the option of me bringing her to work at the ungodly hour. I hang up with my mom and the shift manager maybe felt bad for us and said she would call the sales manager to see if he would approve the exchange over the phone. I said that would be great and very helpful. She called, he didn't answer. She told me to give her a call tomorrow and hopefully she will hear back from the sales manager. I gave her a call today and she let me know they could do a return and exchange the batteries, but they only had one in stock. My mom has a diesel and she needed two. I asked if I could go to another store and have them do the return so I could save a trip. She said I could and to have them give her a call if they try and give us any issues. CJ, a manager at the other boulder hwy store handled all this very well. He was a little worried he'd get in trouble for doing the return but understood the importance of customer service and didn't want us to have to travel to the other store that rightfully deserved the loss. He was very transparent and took responsibility for this stores mistake. MVP for sure! I told my mom to stop wasting her money and time down at this autozone just down the road from her house and take the extra 7 minutes to the other store. Huge difference in management and operations. When I went to Valvoline down the street on wigwam and pecos I was referred to AutoZone because my battery was in the orange zone. I listened to the advice went right to autozone... now here's where the frustration begins... in 2021 I bought a BRAND NEW BATTERY from this autozone and then had to come back in 2022 to replace the battery.. thankfully it was covered under warranty... then here I am in 2023 pulling into the same parking lot with the same issue not nearly A YEAR LATER. I approached the counter nicely hoping to get help with a battery that had been replaced a year prior, I was told we can't replace it because it's out of warranty even thought they supplied this battery to me less than a year ago... so I asked for a manager. After waiting almost 20 minutes EUGENE, the store manager, decided to come out from the shelves and tell me there was nothing he could do and gave me the same story. Now I asked for the district number, I was provided the number for the store. I sat in the parking lot and before leaving called to make sure I had the right now, Leon a manager from another store was inside and ran outside to help me when he realized I was outside. He tried begging Eugene to change my battery for free and apologized for the way I have been treated. It was not until then, Leon referred me to the district number. I left a voicemail tonight for the district manager and look forward to getting a new battery from EUGENE. While speaking with the lovely man Leon, the older woman, who initially helped me started talking trash while getting into her car that evening. I have been an AutoZone customer since I was a teenager with my very first car. I am now severing my relationship with them. I woke up to a dead battery last night and had a friend take me to AZ thinking it was maybe my starter. It wound up being the battery. I bought one for $251.42 before the core return of $23.84. I went to work this morning, then to Walmart and found the exact same battery with the same three year warranty for $151.55 after taxes. AutoZone will not give a refund for the battery as it is now considered "used" and will only give $20 to buy it back. They will not do a price match or anything to help me continue to be a satisfied customer. That's a $99.87 price difference. That $99.87 just cost them a 40 year customer. It's a shame as I frequented this location with no other previous problems. Make sure you ask questions about their return practice before you lose your money just like I did. read more

An Autozone in a strip mall next to a tattoo shop! What a lovely place, it's hard to see inside to really tell if they're open or not at times. When you go in you'll find overpriced chemicals that are at least $1 or higher per bottle or can (compare Lucas fuel injector cleaner pricing as an example of what I mean). I seem to find myself here because I made the mistake of buying a Duralast battery which that product seems to have issues with Vegas's climate extremes. Counter and checkout service here can be hit or miss. Sometimes it's great, more often than not it's slow, and sometimes the service is so clueless I expect them to try and sell someone muffler bearings or blinker fluid for turn signals. In fact service can be so bad I've complained to their regional offices 2x and to their national corporate office once. 2 Stars. At least their rewards card doesn't suck. And even as bad as they are, they always beat Pep Boys...don't even get me started on how bad that place is. read more
