    Bran Muffin w Honey

Ava's has a really nice atmosphere; it's cute, cozy, friendly, and the chatter around really helps with that. The outside sitting area is pretty, too. It can be a bit crowded, but never takes too long for a table to free up. Parking sucks, but I might've missed another larger parking lot. The coffee I've gotten is usually good. I got this pistachio latte once, wouldn't recommend. They're not really good with these unique-type flavors. Their hot chocolate, though, is AMAZING -- they use real chocolate, so it's rich and creamy. By around noon to early afternoon, when we usually go, there's a more limited selection of food in the case. On this trip, I got the bran muffin. The girl warned me it's not all that sweet, but I thought I don't like things to be too sweet anyways. The texture is dense, good, but taste-wise, almost like a treat for a pet? - it's bran, so should've expected that. The honey that goes with it feels fake or low-quality. Other food looks good though; they have a lot of beautiful cakes.

Was visiting Portland after so many years. Relied on public transportation between my must-visit list of places and realized soon that I missed most coffee places because they all close early. If it was not for this late night coffee place , I would have left empty hearted for missing Portland coffee !! A great place to sit and work or meetup friends. Parking is very limited, but I like the locality- a very quiet neighborhood. Friendly staff. It has all the good characteristics of my dream coffee house. Coffee and macaroon were great to start off. But soon it lost the charm. Maybe it's just our experience, but one star off only for that.

Nearly a $1 upcharge for Soymilk

Ava is an interesting coffee shop. I like that they still offer Soymilk as a latte option, since some places do not carry Soymilk at all, which is even more horrible as a trend. They also still charge for soy. Nearly a whole dollar. Aside from that they're kinda mean to you regardless. I called one day, had a 10:30 appt and was running late {i called at 10:19 asking for a soy latte to-go one day, and they really told me they don't do phone orders. Waste of my time making the phone call} So... Yeah. They do make a good tasty soy latte though. Just. Very. Expensive and ableist of them to still charge extra to those with lactose/milk allergies. Will I be back? Yes, probably. I don't hate them. I just find them a bit aloof with customer service in general. It's cool they offer Soy. It's not cool to be outrageous about how much they charge for it. I probably would have not really cared about fifty cents.

To me, this business feels like how Starbucks used to be. Meaning that, sure, maybe their interior is a little dated, but they're actually a gathering place for the community. The coffee is good, but not the best you've ever had. They do have fun seasonal specials. Their food is a little elevated for a coffee shop. Service is good. It's pleasant to sit indoors or outdoors where there's a lovely water feature. And they have long hours!

I'm pleasantly surprised to see a late night coffee shop, especially one with a generous dessert offering! We visited with friends on a Friday evening after getting sushi nearby. We wanted to grab a coffee and dessert and this place totally hit the spot. I got a small latte with their espresso chocolate cake and it was the perfect combo, great flavor & consistency, perfectly balanced and decadent. My husband got the Apple strudel and that was delicious as well. Parking was a little difficult but the interior & patio has tons of seating and the diversity of patrons was great, both youngish and older, people gathering with friends or enjoying solo time to get work done. Service was fast & friendly. Vibes are chill.

Normally I have very good experiences at Ava. I have been ordering delivery from them for a couple of years now. As an in-home-care worker, I can't leave my work to pickup my order. The last couple of times I have ordered however, there has been less and less coffee / mocha in my cup when it's delivered. Not ideal for my 20 hour shift. I understand food service workers being frustrated by demanding or lazy delivery customers but I have been ordering from them for a while with zero complaints. It sucks they don't realize some people ordering delivery don't have a choice in the matter.

I like to come here for the occasional coffee and outdoor seating. It has lots of indoor and outdoor seating. I have only had the pastry's here before which are the perfect sweet treat.

I ordered through door dash, my order arrived extremely cold. As well, the worst portion sizes were delivered I didn't receive fillled cups moreso 3/4 cup. Also the hot chocolates were two different colors but it was the same exact drink. I am astonished at the poor quality and lack of care, I can't recommend this business unfortunately.

There was ample seating to suit every mood (table and chairs, comfy chairs, and comfy sofas with plenty of outlets and side tables). There's a fun and fresh local artist goods shop tucked in the front corner. It's a perfect place to find a gift for yourself or others. The menu is a nerdy dream come true. When we visited a couple of weeks ago in May, the themed drinks were Lord of the Rings and Mario. I had the Gondor, which, if I recall, may have had hazelnut and cinnamon. I DO recall that it was delish. I forgot what drink my daughter ordered, but she enjoyed it as well. I look forward to coming back and trying their London Fog, which is one of my favorite drinks and seems to have significant praise from other reviewers. We didn't get an opportunity to try the food, but look forward to in the future. One refreshing surprise is that this is a no-tip establishment. I don't recall what I paid for the drinks, but I appreciate places that charge what they need to make their business work and to (hopefully) pay their employees a living wage. Brickhaus is rooted in community and belonging, and I am here for it!

The shop itself is decorated with basketball and sneaker culture, along with iconic sports moments that make the space feel unique without trying too hard. One thing that caught me off guard was that there wasn't a traditional menu posted. As a first-time visitor, I wasn't sure what coffee options, blends, or milk choices were available. Thankfully, it wasn't too busy, and the employee working was incredibly patient, friendly, and happy to walk me through everything. Customer service like that goes a long way. My drink was excellent, and the sneaker design printed on top of the coffee was such a cool touch. It's one of those little details that makes the experience memorable and fits perfectly with the brand. Whether you're a sneakerhead, a coffee lover, or both, Deadstock Coffee is worth checking out. The breakfast burrito was also delicious. I added sausage, Guac, and mushrooms. It would've been a 10/10 if left off the mushrooms. The burger tasted precooked, not a lot of flavor, just ok. The fries were fresh and hot, and seasoned perfectly. Another good experience at this incredible sneaker-themed coffee shop not too far from Nike. Definitely go for the coffee, you'll love it.
