Spiced Dirty Chai
Stephanie S.

I ordered an iced Spiced Dirty Chai and boy did they deliver!! It was a very busy Thursday morning around 10am. There were about 10-12 in our party and the place was so loud we couldn't really hear each others conversation. This was my first visit to this location. Great pastries, sandwiches and coffee. Friendly service as always. Just a bit noisy, I'm not really a morning person so we decided to take our coffee to the outside promenade area.

The new Ava Roasteria in Tigard on Main Street is open! Great coffee, the Apple Strudel is worth the price. Great space and vibe with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Cup of fresh squeezed coffee

We drove up from Albany waiting for an appt. Ava Coffee is across the street Vetrern services building. It was wonderful to not have to drive far to get fresh squeezed COFFEE! Service was smiling and helpful! But no seats 10:11 AM.

Chicken Rustica on GF bread

You have got to be kidding me. This chicken sandwich with bacon, tomato and a little bit of pesto costs $16 plus an additional $2.50 for gluten-free bread.

Walked over to Ava's today with my dog for a mid day break, and the first thing I noticed is that they have now put up tents over their outdoor seating so that it is covered and you can stay dry, even if it is raining. Nice touch guys! I really like this new feature as I'm not personal eating indoors anywhere yet at this point, so I normally can only come hang out at your coffee shop in the summertime. So very well done. I went inside and got a breve latte (pretty much my go to drink when I can't decide what I want) which I must admit was ready much faster than usual, and then I just sat outside with my dog and relaxed for about a half hour. It was definitely chilly (heaters anyone?), but at least I didn't have to worry about getting rained on.

DELICIOUS sandwich, definitely recommend! Coffee is good, not too pricey, although any syrups or alternative milks are additional cost.

Relaxing in the lovely patio.

I'm enjoying sitting out on the patio drinking my coffee by the fountain. Friendly service, good coffee, nice atmosphere, what not to love?

Got a white chocolate mocha that is inedible. Flavor is really bad, overall the drink tastes watery. Cheese danish is dry. Won't be back.

Nice clean coffee shop. Good coffee. Large windows with lots of daylight. Quiet atmosphere at seven-thirty in the morning.

We were seated quickly -- it was a nice day, so we sat in their lovely outdoor dining area. They brought us room temperature waters (not a fan), and took our drink orders rather quickly. Service was good throughout our visit. I ordered the IPA Bacon Cheeseburger, which came (over)loaded with lots of fresh vegetables, a large burger patty, and the IPA mustard sauce. I don't want to complain about a burger being piled high with bacon, pickles, and fresh onions, lettuce, & tomatoes; but it was difficult to eat. While the Challah bun was delicious, it was woefully undersized for the task of holding it all together. I enjoyed it, but felt the IPA sauce was lost in the midst of everything else, and I also thought the burger patty was under-seasoned. I ordered fries as a side, and unfortunately they were the "battered" variety, which I just don't enjoy. Restaurants -- please, just serve normal French fries, without any batter on them! We knew from past experience that baked goods and desserts are really what La Provence is good at, so we ordered Tiramisu for dessert. Their very non-traditional take on this Italian classic would probably some people uneasy, but it was delicious. It had a dense chocolate cake base, with a thick layer of mascarpone mousse on top of that, then a topping of thin, crunchy, chocolate hazelnut ganache. Not too sweet, with a variety of textures to enjoy. We would definitely come back again, but I'd get something other than burger and fries.

The plain croissant was unfortunately a miss for me--but the bacon & egg papillon was OMG delicious... so much so that I ended up buying three. No regrets!!! The Versaille, Tiramisu, and Marionberry cheesecake were all delish and absolutely worth trying. We also tried the beignet rocher, marionberry cheese croissant, everything-but-the-bagel croissant, peach papillon, and the kouign amann apple--so many fun options, and overall a great stop if you love pastries and want variety. Service was a little hit-or-miss. The first time I visited, the server seemed a bit grumpy - especially while I was placing a larger order, but on my return visit, a different server was noticeably friendlier... maybe because my order was a little smaller

I think 2-3 per person is more than enough. I myself am good with two to myself, but we always get a few more so we can try more flavors. We got a few to go and my favorite was definitely the spicy sausage. The cream cheese danish was also phenomenal. The eggs inside were also super soft and not over cooked. I do wish they had a slightly bigger menu, while there were a number of kolaches, it really seemed to just be different combinations of egg, cheese, and some breakfast protien (sausage, bacon, etc.). So one is just egg, then another is egg and cheese, another is sausage, egg, and cheese, then just sausage and egg, etc. All the different combos make it seem like there's a lot, but the real flavor options didn't vary a ton. But I will 100% be back, as it's a great grab and go breakfast options that's super delicious.

The sweet treat was $4.50, my total, with the beverage and a 20% tip was just over $10. Next time I plan to try a savory breakfast item. I saw a few others enjoying them, they looked yummy and are surprisingly well priced in today's world. I think this would be a great place to have cater a breakfast meeting or add yumminess to a bridal or baby shower.

I'm actually newer to the Crumbl seen. A few friends last year had gifted me cookies from there…read morebefore. Some were old and stale though so I didn't understand the hype. Then I was given a bowl of their banana pudding. It made me go bananas. It was really delish. I Absolutely loved it. I went back to get some only to find out that the selection changes week to week and the pudding only shows up when the moon is full or the bananas are ripe. That was hard to hear. Now the Crumbl craze is hitting tik tok and YouTube so I found out that my banana pudding with wafers was finally brought back as a fun in the sun beach bum treat. So I made my way out there today to get it because it finally came back after months of me waiting. To my dismay, the pudding cup was $9. That's twice the price of a cookie. Now it's great pudding, but is pudding really worth $9? I think that's too much for even 2026. It came with a novelty shovel spoon - is that what hyped the price or is this economy really driving the prices up ? I settled on their pineapple whip cookie for $4.50. It was good, but probably an 8 out of 10. Nothing I would repurchase. About a month ago they served us up right though with a fabulous Nanaimo Bar cookie paying homage to our Canada Neighbors. That cookie was suburb and spectacular. 10 out of 10. Some of the other selections just look too sweet, too basic or again too expensive - here's looking at you - Dubai chocolate strawberry cup which was around $15-18. I still signed up for their rewards program so I now should get a free cookie on my birthday. They rotate their selections every week so it can be definitely be hit or miss. Some people are going viral trying all the treats. That's too much sugar even for a cookie lover like myself. I'll stick to trying 1 a month and seeing if they are worth the hype. Just decided to try them out this year as a customer to see what all the hype is really all about. Actually, no free cookie on my birthday unless I buy 5 or 6 beforehand. That's a bummer too. They want you to buy in bulk but that's hard if you don't have a family. Still split about this place.
