Next, I met dental assistant Lucy who could not have been more awesome. Her knowledge, understanding of my anxiety, and respect made me feel more confident in a dental chair then I have in years. Her constant check ins to assure I was still ok was so kind and she made sure I knew exactly what was going on every step of the way. Next I was introduced to doctor Jas who yet again superseded my expectations. He set a treatment plan that worked at my pace and broke everything down without me feeling rushed or confused which is a lost art in dentistry. I left the office feeling confident and for once excited to continue my dental health and I can not praise the entire office enough. My husband was so impressed with my level of confidence he instantly booked himself an appointment and switched dentists. 5 stars is not enough!!

When I was leaving, they handed me a slip of paper, asked me to leave a review, and tried to bribe me with something out of a box if I did. I said nope, thinking I would wait to see how honest they were in their billing practices. So- my experience at this dentist office mirrors many of the one-star experiences that have been expressed already. Please, listen to me when I say, if you value your money, do not go to Shadow Mountain Dental Group. If you do still go, and you have to pay out of pocket, make sure when your EOB arrives that you double check it. You may have been robbed by an unscrupulous practice that bills as much as possible and doesn't give your money back until legal action is threatened. I had a root canal done at this office in June. I have two insurances, a primary and a secondary. I was told I owed almost 500 dollars out of pocket on the day of service. I was astonished. I have two insurances, I said. How can I be billed so much? The secondary insurance was paying less than I was out of pocket, according to the benefits coordinator. Well, I needed the work done, so I paid using an HSA card. Fast forward a couple of months. I got my EOBs from both primary and secondary insurance. Guess what? They say I don't owe anything out of pocket. They say that the codes that were billed by Shadow Mountain Dental Group were denied because the service was either included in the work done or were not valid for the work done. I was shocked. That meant that I had paid almost 500 dollars out of pocket and I didn't have to. I collected all the evidence. I got on my Smile Generation account, which clearly showed part of my out of pocket payment 'assigned' to codes that per contract were not supposed to be charged. I printed out the EOBs. I took it all to the office. I was not greeted by someone who was apologetic or who looked and said, "Wow, our mistake!" and "Let's get this resolved." Nope, the benefits coordinator was very vague, argued, made it sound like it was the insurance companies' fault, and required me on multiple occasions to repeat that if the contracted health insurance companies stated that I didn't owe anything, I had been overbilled and needed a refund. The result? "We'll have to look into this and call you back." Couple of days later, still waiting for that call back. Looked at my Smile Generation account today, suddenly it has been changed. Retroactive charges have been applied to eat up more of the out of pocket balance, but it still hasn't added up to the full amount I paid. This is sketchy beyond belief. If they do not refund my money, I see no choice but to submit to the Nevada Attorney General Bureau of Consumer Protection and insurance provider. It stinks that people should have to go through this. I hate dealing with dishonest companies! Avoid at all cost!!!

Twice I asked this question to be interrupted both times, mid sentence. Then an assistant walks in with the prices, and before I agreed to book the appointment, I asked "how long is the filling procedure?" She then said "let me go ask Dr Faddis" and she came back to me and told me he quoted about 1 hour. Which means he very well could have quoted the length of the procedure. Dr faddis I believe is not qualified to do my fillings if he can't even provide a guesstimate on how long the procedure is. I'm age 36 AND retired so I have plenty of time to find a much better dr with good ratings. I'm sure dr faddis is good for quick simple little procedures, but not cavity fillings. However Jesica and Veronica were amazing.

It was a "let's do it now or soon" type of deal and of course I said now. My other dental place was horrible with that kind of stuff and would need 10,000 referrals and take weeks to get you to where you needed. It was like I didn't matter. I also appreciate the fact that they do EVERYTHING then and there. I was told I needed a crown and they shaved my tooth down to get rid of my cavity, molded the shape and created the crown then and there. Everything was pretty quick too! Doctor Rucker and his staff were so gentle and positive and honest! I am excited to go back in December possibly sooner to have my wisdom teeth removed because like I said they do everything there. They charged me for fluoride but didn't administer it and after the terrifying cleaning, I forgot too. I just wanted to leave as fast as possible. I'm never going back. I seriously feel like I was abused by my dentist. His statement at the end was, "it's been a long day sorry for the roughness." Yeah I'm done with that place. She assaulted me while performing an unnecessary gum check. She was not authorized to do anything except to fix my crown. She acknowledged it and we spoke about how I was disappointed with her services. Even the office manager told her not to do anything else, just fix the crown that was started. Fernandez was the only dentist on site when they finished my root canal for my cracked tooth, so I had to continue with the service. Unfortunately, it was with Fernandez. She pressed down on the gum check to get higher numbers, tried numerous times to get me to commit to a cleaning and a deep cleaning. She was condescending, and stated she saw my previous complaint on Yelp and to her manager and was not happy that I did the complaints. Her dental work needs to be re-done by other dentists. The cement that she place don my crown was all over my gumline and next to my other teeth. She extracted a tooth that was abscessed, and could have been saved. I have never had such a horrible experience before. Except for my teeth being cracked from recent stress, she made it out to me that I had severe gum disease and never took care of my teeth. Um, the other experts saw my teeth, and you are a liar Dr. Fernandez. I guess I will need more dentistry to fix what you screwed up. So you lawyered up. Guess we know where this is heading.

I was referred to him several years ago by a friend, and have never looked elsewhere. They are professional, friendly, and Dr. Trinh WILL NOT LET YOU HURT during procedures. I have had 5 crowns, and 1 more pending and he is quick and does excellent work. I felt compelled to leave this review as I had my first root canal/crown done yesterday and it was painless and not nearly as traumatic as some folks relay root canal experiences. And he has a cool new machine on premises that can make a crown in office as opposed to having a temp crown for 2-3 weeks and coming back in for yet another procedures (this also opens up more appointments btw). If I ever leave the area, I'll have to fly back to Vegas to get my dental work done. Dr. Trinh only has one draw back--there is only one of him--highly recommend Elite Dental.
