In November 2020 Avant Rooter put in a new sewer line for us. They did a fantastic job and finished sooner than promised. Kyle did the job together with his coworkers. Ridiculously bad service from these guys. Called them about an emergency leak in my kitchen. Explained that I need to fly out in two days and it must be done urgently. Signed up for service for the next day from noon to 2 pm. At 1:30 - called them to inquire about the plumber coming. Was assured that he should be there soon. Called back at 2 pm - they apologized for the delay and said that was an emergency leak somewhere and the plumber was held up. Said they would find a different plumber. After a while called me back and said that they found someone from 4 pm to 6 pm. I said fine, just make sure it's done tonight. At 5 pm started calling them again - was assured yet again that the plumber was on his way. At 6 pm after calling them for the 10th time that day, they finally admitted that they wouldn't be able to send anyone today - but perhaps I would like to wait until tomorrow? Sure, let me cancel my flight just for you! Had to scramble to find a night plumber for twice the price - and I was lucky I could find someone. read more

We had a fantastic experience with Avant, Ivar in particular. He got right down to business and had the plugged kitchen drain cleared quickly. This was actually the second company we contacted since the previous day another company came out. The previous plumber smelled good but was not able to fix the problem. However, he suggested he could come back the next day and "hydro jet" the plug for $595. Since he didn't disassemble the pipes before he snaked the sink, my husband got suspicious and we contacted Avant, immediately set up an appointment for the next day and Ivar arrived and promptly took care of what the other company couldn't for a fraction of the price. I am a realtor and needed a mainline sewer inspection for a home my clients were in escrow on and we needed it done in a very short timeframe. The owner actually took my call directly and advised he would have his team at my house the next day by 8am. The owner then got me on the phone with a lead tech to make sure I had correctly turned off all items needed. After being rescheduled multiple times and waited 2 days for my apartment's regular plumber, I finally gave up on them and anxiously searched one near my neighborhood. I called on their $49 drain cleaning special ($49 through cleanout or $99 if other access) late last night and made an appointment for the next day. Josh came by during the scheduled window with notice a little before he was here. He was professional and courteous, he even put booties on before I asked. Although we didn't qualify for the $49 special since we couldn't use our frozen shut cleanout (reasonable since it's 40 years since it was used and he did try it diligently), we still got a good price $99 to unclog the drain from the bathroom under the sink. Josh went above and beyond by going under the house which isn't easy to make sure the snake didn't cause a hole in our old pipes and also when I asked for an estimate to unclog a tub we never use as well as fix the faucet handle on that tub. He was able to fix it reasonably well while diagnosing the problems. He could have tried to pull a trick and make it seem like a big job, but he didn't, very honest. I like their up front fees, no upsell or extras. I will definately recommend them and will myself use them again. read more

They are overestimating and creating problems. I had very bad experience with these people. I asked to fix a leak in toilet. Then I found nothing was done correctly. When I called again the guy suggested me to change whole plumbing system. I called other plumber. There was nothing wrong except small things to fix. Before I called the new plumber I complained and they said they were calling me back to discuss. Never called me back. This plumber is very unreliable. Not honest. I am thinking to complain to Better Business Bureau. read more

These guys are great! They did a complex job redoing the sewer line and drainage for 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, and laundry in a very small crawl space and they got it done in half the time that was quoted by another plumber. They were willing to match the price or another plumber and give me a good deal. In the course of their work, they realized some elements of the job they originally quoted weren't necessary. Rather than just do a bunch of unnecessary work on my house and charge me for it, they brought it to my attention that I didn't need some of the work. Very pleased with the team at Avant. They tackled a backed-up drain in an aging apartment building trying everything before determining that an old cast iron drain pipe from the '50's had just given up. They cut out the old pipe and replaced and added a new clean out. The biggest plus here was their capacity to identify and resolve a major issue within 24 hours. It comes from having a big enough team to get the complete job done quickly. Our technician, Kyle, was great. I contacted Avant Rooter about my drain clog and they quickly answered with useful information about dealing with condos. My HOA got back to me that they use a different plumber which is experienced with determining whether the clog is in my drains I'm responsible for or if it is in the main drains that are the HOA's responsibility. I didn't use Avant Rooter because my HOA uses another plumber but I did get fast informative feedback from Avant Rooter that helped me. read more

A technician came out to fix a leak. He completely misidentified the source as the toilet upstairs and because I was under a lot of stress, I did not make the connection that there was no possible way the leak could have come from the bathroom upstairs because the bathroom upstairs was not above the leak. He charged $350 to tighten the loose toilet he identified as the source and left without giving me a receipt. When I called a week later to inform them the leak was continuing, the same technician came back, gave me the run around, and then told me I would need to get a leak detector to come out and that he could get one here for $750. Long story short, they did not credit me for the work done on the misidentified source of the leak and then price gauged the additional work (FYI, leak detection should be around $350). I decided to go with another plumber (Good Guy Plumbing) and they have been incredibly fair, trustworthy, and reasonable. read more

Kyle came out the same day and snaked both bathrooms, checked the mainline from the house to the city line. He appeared to have solved the problem. He was friendly, professional, attentive to my questions, etc. Next day, the backup started again. Jeff came and looked closer, tried to determine the cause. Turned out to be a more major problem and they were able to fix it.
