Tried to DIY a water pressure regulator that was leaking. Bought the repair kit and realized that I was in over my head. Miguel was very responsive and sent workers same day -- on a Sunday. When they saw that the regulator housing plastic screw threads were stripped, they called multiple suppliers -- on a Sunday -- to get the exact same pressure regulator. Came back, took out the old regulator, and installed the new one quickly. The water was going, but the pressure was low in distant faucets. The plumber adjusted the regulator and we were back in business. Prompt , polite, thorough service -- on a Sunday. My neighbor had previously replaced his regulator last year and the price I received -- on a Sunday -- was less than what my neighbor paid last year. read more

He was prompt in responding to us (he came higly recommended by our neighbor) and provided all the details for our job via text, including providing an estimate that was far better than what we recieved from a well known plumbing company. This is my 4th Yelp review for the second plumber I had to hire in a month. I had a truly awesome experience with Miguel and his Hydrojet crew at MC Plumbing. Three weeks ago our showers backed up and our toilets wouldn't flush. I ended up hiring a local plumber to come out and snake/rooter our main sewer line 80 ft in length. They were able to clear the clog and get the water flowing again. They gave us a courtesy camera inspection and found we had root intrusion from our front hillside ivy in the last 10 feet of pipe under our driveway. Their solution was to place that section of pipe by digging into the hillside and under the driveway. Their estimate was the price of a small used car. I started calling other plumbers for their estimates and the other options of replacing or patching the pipe. I learned about Pipe Bursting, Sleeve/Liners dipped in Epoxy and Hydrojetting. It was clear I had to see how badly cracked the pipe really was before I went ahead to replace it. I called around for Hydrojetting and the top companies in the area were charing over a $1000 for it. I then found MC Plumbing and spoke to Miguel who quoted me a price that was less than half of the other companies. His Hydrojet machine would blast water inside the pipe in several directions at 4000 psi. Miguel also came out first to the property to survey the pipe/ivy/driveway situation. He suggested that after hydrojetting and clearing the pipe of roots if we needed to replace the pipe, he would have to cut two openings in our driveway and front hillside. I hired him for the Hydrojetting next day. At 8am Miguel's Hydrojet crew of Luis and Mauricio showed up in a large truck with their high pressure water system. No it wasn't a $50,000 set up like some other companies. You just need high pressure water, a long hose with a hydrojet head that spins and sprays water in several directions to cut the root intrusion. Luis sent the hose down the 80 ft of pipe a few times. He then inserted his video camera line to see if there were any roots left. He used the Hydrojet hose and camera to stop at every point in the pipe that had roots left. He blasted each section until all the roots were gone. Luis also checked the driveway with a metal detector and found the section of pipe under there was actually Abs plastic. He discerned that the roots had growin into the sewer line through a T joint where the pipe connects to another one that leads down our hillside into the city's line under the sidewalk. Luis showed me the video footage and said all we had to do was dig through the ivy and soil and replace just the T section. He let Miguel know the situation. Luis and Mauricio were finished in about an hour. They used our water hose to connect to their machine. They replaced the vent cover and the water hose and left a clean work area. Miguel came by later that day to get another look at the ivy. I asked for a new estimate considering that I would clear all the ivy myself in order to save time and costx. Miguel also suggested the alternative that half his clients with similiar situations take is a maintenace route. They endup Hydrojetting every few years. This would still be far less than the cost of cutting into concrete, replacing the pipe and pouring new cement over the driveway. Miguel and his team saved me from replacing a pipe that didn't need to be replaced. After Hydrojetting and the camera inspection, it was clear that there wasn't any cracks in the 10 ft section of pipe. The ivy just got into the T section at the very end through a few joints. I'm so grateful to have met an honest and reliable plumber who wanted to take smaller steps to clarify the problem before just recommending a large repair. I also asked what they quoted for snaking/rooting sewer lines and their quote was also far less than the previous plumber I'd hired. If you need a plumber and have sewer line issues, I'd would call Miguel at MC Plumbing. He is local to the Mar Vista area which isn't far from the Palms/Beverlywood area. For sewer line clogs, I'd recommed skipping the snake/rooter and just get Miguel and his team to hydrojet your sewer line first. Miguel will be the only plumber I call from now on. Meant to give Miguel this 5 star review earlier. Miguel replaced the very old (and so, no longer made) separate hot and cold faucets in my shower, with a modern all-in-one faucet. He cut both the shower tile and the wall behind the shower to access the pipes, replaced the old hot and cold water faucets with the new all-in-one faucet, and ran new copper pipes from the new all-in-one to the shower head. He was experienced and knowledgeable about this type of plumbing work, patiently explained most of what needed to be done in advance (although there was at least one surprise I didn't realize until later), came on time, worked efficiently, cleaned up thoroughly, and charged a reasonable price.
