Don't buy a car here! All the salesman there will bait and switch you into buying insurances or warranties you don't require to purchase the car. They will tell you that you need GAP, Service Contract and a "paint sealant" protection program ($500). It's all just a way for them to sell you on services you don't need but force feed you to purchase them. In my case they wouldn't sell me the car unless I bought their paint protection program which is $500+tax. On their website it states "no-haggle price tag guarantee. That means you can review product specifications, take the car for a test drive, and buy it without having to negotiate." Be prepared to have your time wasted and taken advantage of if you purchase any "no haggle price guaranteed " car. They have no integrity and transparency. Do not try to purchase a car from them if you have only temporary license. The agent told me there was a two hour free test drive, and I am free to drive it away if I decided to buy, and a discount of rental fee in two days if I return it. I am sure I will buy it, so I paid for a mechanist to check the car, and drive away to have lunch. When it is about one and a half hour later from beginning, the agent told me that he cannot process the payment if I do not have a mailed license. How could that happen? Why you did not tell me before? The agent told me to return the car. Then I drove back, only found nobody is in the office because it just over 2pm when they are off duty??? The agent told me to return the car the day after that, which is Sunday. I went there again and found they are totally not working there. Another day later that I could finally return it, but still, they charge me a lot and told me that the system decide to charge me that much. It is crazy that I wasted three days(less than two days keeping the car, but actually I could barely do nothing except coming over and over for three days) and almost 700 dollars, including my ppi, rental fee, rental insurance, taxi go there and back, gas fee, and get nothing. They even cannot hold the car until the day DMV mails license to me, which is on the way for over five weeks! I just feel like This big company is robbing me blind. read more

This is a very good place to buy a car for multiple reasons. First of all, the price is unbeatable. I've shopped many places including dealers, private sellers and other rental car companies. None of them offers such a competitive price as Avis at Glendale. Secondly, I don't need to bargain with them on prices. What you see on the internet is what you are paying. They don't play tricks on you. And they don't push you. They simply show you the car and price and you get to decide. I feel no pressure. Got a good deal on a used rental car BUT, their website clearly states no added fees and no haggle pricing. This was NOT the case. They tried to add gap insurance, which they were willing to take off, and some bogus $500 paint protection package that is pretty much worthless if you read what it covers. I asked multiple times if it was optional, and of course they said no. Then they made me sign two different papers saying I agreed to that optional charge. I didn't walk away because it was still a good deal, but I wanted to. Guess I wanted the car more than I wanted to prove a point. Would have been a good experience other than that. read more

I purchased my car from Avis, Glendale in May 2020, in cash and never received my certificate of title. After further investigation, I learned that Avis Glendale put a lean on my vehicle for no reason. I contacted the lean holder who is perplexed by Avis's actions. This screw-up has prevented me from the ability to prove ownership of the vehicle that I paid for in cash. In addition to the inability to sell my vehicle. I have been pushed through Avis's corporate maze, with no clarity, no empathy, and still no title!? Avis Glendale has yet to rectify this alarming situation - and clearly does not care, now that they have my money. Unfortunately, I am now forced to go to the authorities to report fraud and intend to take legal action against Avis. The irony is.... CarMax has been the only helpful party and has given me the most useful information to handle the situation. Buy and sell your car with CarMax and stay very clear from this shady, and fraudulent Avis dealership. read more

Their reservations making process is extremely inconvenient. I wanted to test drive several cars in one day, but apparently you can only test drive one car per day, and only MAKE one reservation per day. So I made a reservation for 10/31 in Glendale, CA., but got a call only two hours before saying the driver forgot the key to the car. I tried to make a reservation for the following day, but was told I had to wait a few days because the cars are considered "active rentals." Pain in the ass! read more

I paid for a wrangler in Mass. about 3 weeks ago. The car was okay.. missing an interior panel and floor matts but the real problem was that it is uninspected and unregistered. So far they have refused to provide the proper paperwork to drive the car legally and I cannot have the car inspected (which is in violation of state lemon laws). Customer service is non-existent despite multiple attempts to solve the problem. I am assuming at this point the warranty is going to be useless as well. Although they may have some okay deals I really cannot recommend them to anyone. At least not unless you wish to park the car you paid $40K for for 3 months while they send your registration papers to you. read more

Our Salesman/Sal went above and beyond; our van financing could not be completed before store closed (Finance/Dominque was great). First we had to provide all of our information twice as they're contracted with two different companies to do the sale and for what ever reason they couldn't figure out which company should do the sale as I lived in Idaho but drove to WA to buy the car. I've had such a good experience with my car purchase from AVIS. The sales person that helped me with my purchase was Dominique. I highly respect and admire seeing women in this line of work. Dominque explained everything about this process clearly and thoroughly. She made me feel 100% certain and comfortable with my decision. That was important to me because it brought me peace, dealing with other dealerships I felt pressured and uncomfortable. She did not take long on my paperwork since I told her I was on a time constraint, she worked hard to get me in and out of there as soon as possible. I feel like I got the the best price for the preowned car that I purchased, it's in great condition and if there were minor flaws or things missing it was instantly addressed and fixed. Very dishonest dealership. They sold me a car with pre-existing problems. They also require you to by a smartshield warranty for $499. Don't do it, insist that they take it off. A few years ago I needed a car, didn't get one but narrowed down my choices. And although car prices are insane right now. I am test driving. I didn't test drive the car I really wanted a few years ago so I saw this car when I was passing by. And I decided to go there and test drive they were closed. I called and spoke to Armen sorry his card is my car don't know his last name. He said come by Saturday he offered to drive it to my location I declined. I had a day off during the week and I called he wasn't there. His coworker said it was best I wait for him, if I had insisted he probably would have test drove with me, but he respected his coworker and the commission and said wait for Armen. I went on Saturday and test drove the car. It was a lot of trouble because in the 100 degree heat they had to move 7 cars I think to get to it. I test drove it and said I probably wont be buying it and explained the reasons all of which had to do with the car and price not the salesmen. And he didn't become rude like another saleslady at Subaru in Thousand Oaks when I said I wasn't going to buy today. He was extremely patient, kind and professional. His boss stepped in and didn't try to push he just asked why. I said the price 30 thousand really. He asked what cars I had been looking at I said a Nissan Versa Note was an option. and he asked what price I did want to spend. He said we might have a car you might like. And although I cringe at salesmen that push me on other cars. The car he showed me was in my price range and it looked exactly like a Nissan Versa note but more reliable. beautiful red car but the timing just isn't right now. We have not experienced the $500. paint protection con at this dealership, but.... We Attempted to purchase late model car thru Avis ultimate test drive program. Tried to buy car during 2 hour free drive. Was told no finance person available to take car home and wait for call. Alex the finance manager called two days later wrote up sale and e-mailed paperwork. Invoice had a document fee of $599. added to it (in addition to state fees and tax) I complained that the doc fee is limited to $85. max in California finance person Alex got huffy and said fee is fixed on all their cars and non-negotiable just go return the car. I did and was hit with a rental charge of over $400 for 2.5 days and 46 mile (my mechanic and back) test drive FREE rental!!! They seem all nice and help full till they try to rip you off with the bogus fee knowing that they will make money on the fee or the rental after they leave you hanging for a few days.
