So this review is from when avocado burger first opened a few months ago. I was excited to go to Toms burgers only to find it had been renamed and repainted a horrible literal avocado green. I ordered two Philly cheesesteak combos, two bean and cheese burritos and one order of zucchini. The sandwiches were dry and overly salted. And I don't know why someone though this was ok but there was shredded lettuce and mayo on it! Blech! The zucchini looked nice but were under salted!i figured the burritos would be five since you can't possibly mess that up. Nope. My kids started eating and then immediately started complaining that it was spicy. So I take a look and at first I don't see anything and just chalk it up to my kids complaining to complain. But after their persistence I checked again and low and behold I spotted red chili flakes in both the burritos! WTH?! This place had one shot to impress and they seriously failed. An over salted Philly with shredded lettuce and mayo that required a drink with every bite, zucchini so under salted that I added salt when I should've just squished it between the Philly to even it out. And red chili flakes never mentioned in the bean and cheese burritos. I'll never go back even though it's 5 minutes from my house. read more

The chili cheese fries here have always been amazing . Since Tom's switched to Avocado's I thought the taste in food was going to be gone. I can tell you the chili cheese fries are still the exact same as they were before. Delicious!!! Everything on the menu looks delicious and when it's being cooked it looks good. This place has very good food no doubt about that. However the customer service is terrible. Always check that you received what you ordered especially if your not passing through this place again. I called as soon as I noticed i didn't get what I ordered. I called and they said they would remake the order because it wasn't my fault it was theirs. I decided to go back after work and they denied me the correct food I paid for saying I had to bring the food back. Which I understand to verify but I had left my name and said I was going later to pick up my correct order and no where did they tell me to bring the food back. I never review anything but I'm just warning people to make sure they get the correct order. They used to have 5 stars from me. When it was Tom's #1 it was better. They TOLD me that nothing from the menu would change since they became Avocado Burger. Wrong! I came and asked for a carne asada quesadilla & that has changed. They no longer give it the way they used to and only dropped a couple of damn cents from the price. Bye bye for life. "The struggle was trying to place an order" Did a drive through run to pick up two burgers and the zucchini. We hadn't been to this place since it was Tom's, but a friend had let me try her Carne Asada fries from here and they were pretty decent. When I pulled up behind a car in the drive-through, I put my window down and heard something weird; it sounded like someone was vacuuming in the background and you could hear it over the loud speaker. I figured it would be over soon and waited my turn. Service: When I pulled up to the speaker, I realized it wasn't a vacuum I was hearing. It was just terrible static. I had such difficulty understanding the woman talking to me more than anything else I had to keep repeating, "what did you say?" or "I think you said... is that right?" While the girl on the other side was friendly, the struggle was trying to place an order. I know the stereo type is the garbled speaker box, but this was unreal. I don't understand how they get any business like this. Has anyone from the restaurant walked outside to check it?? Food: The burgers were decent. They load up the toppings with big lettuce, thousand island, onions, tomatoes, and whatever else. They are the typical very thin patties of meat so the burger is more about the toppings. We both commented that they do give you a good portion of avocado if you choose to get that on your burger. Overall, while it wasn't a wow, it was pretty good. We were both very unimpressed with the zucchini. It was hot when we got it but the flavor was just missing. Bland zucchini is a never again. The other thing that was a bit overwhelming was the menu. I suppose it's a place you can take your 15 children to because everyone will find Something on the massively large menu. But, pulling up and looking at almost 100 different menu items is a bit much. No wonder the woman in the van in front of me took 10 minutes to order! Pricing: I feel the pricing is a bit off. The avocado burger comes without cheese and you have to pay extra to add it. The cheeseburger comes without avocado and it's $1.29 to add it. I think $1.29 is a bit expensive to add avocado. That's about 20-25% of the cost of the entire burger. The zucchini at $3.99 felt fair but for the quality of the zucchini, I'll never pay that again. All in all, for two burgers with cheese and avocado and one order of zucchini, we paid just under $19. Dinner under $20 is nice, but I feel like for drive through cheapy burgers it feels a bit much. ---------------- Pros: 1) The burger is pretty decent 2) Portion of avocado is solid 3) Cons: 1) Can't understand 80% of what is said from the speaker box in the drive through 2) Zucchini was flavorless 3) Pricing can be a bit expensive ----------------- Recommendation: Give it a try and see what you think. But, walk inside and skip the speaker box. You'll save yourself a headache. read more

I used to love this place until today. Everything was great until I noticed I was missing my drinks for my combo and my kid's meal. I parked by the handicap area and got off really quick since I had my 2 sons (11 months and 2 year boys) sleeping in the car. Asked a gentleman to please send my drinks and he said very nicely yes. Then the drive thru lady came out and handed me my drink and said " your combo did not come with a large drink" . Her gestures are ver my rude and giving me an attitude like I want free food. Then I proceeded to tell her to then go switch it . For the trouble that I went through it is not unreasonable for me to upgrade to large. I then asked her for the kids meal drink and she looked in my car and she said "so, what is that drink? Told her it was a champurrado from the morning. Though generally good (but tiresome) food Avocado Burger truly dissapointed with their version (or whatever lesser substitute) with the 'Colossal Pastrami Burger'.
