Today I called in to order lunch for work. The man who answered the phone, the Manager, named Andy was very condescending while taking the order. I would not give into it and continued on with my order. The first thing was I asked for extra sour cream with two of the orders. He proceeded to say "well that is going to be an extra charge". My response was no problem. I then ordered Shrimp Fajitas and his response was "Well that is going to take a half hour" with a huffy voice. Again my response was no problem. I order from there all the time so I knew what the wait time was going to be. I asked if I could get sides of the sauces that are on the table and his response was " when you come in we can give you cups and fill them up yourself"...really I am picking up lunch. What if I was having it delivered? I get there and the order of 4 lunches are in small bags. I asked if there were bigger bags so I don't spill everything over myself and the car. The response was "no we don't order larger bags". Ok no problem. Lastly I asked are the extra sour creams I requested in the bag? Response from him AGAIN was they cost extra, I said I know you told me when I requested them on my order so I should have payed for them. Andy said well you can go through the bags yourself and see if they are in there. Really? Customer service is lacking. The sour creams were not in there and he did not mark on the order that I requested them so I indeed was not charged for them. How was I suppose to know as they don't give me an itemized receipt? I requested I don't pay extra for his incompetency of taking an order and Andy said I can't do that well in the end he gave me two extras. If he is new he needs a lot of training. I worked in the food industry for many years and never once spoke to a customer like this. At this point I will be only going to Texas Taco in Sayville. Oh an there was extra food in the bag when I got back to my office. I hope I did not pay for it as I didn't order it. Resolution: give me an itemized receipt letting me know what I payed for and send Andy and take is manager position away from him and put him as an associate. That would be my recommendation. The cashier was great she is very nice and I hope the man who was always behind the counter, not this time, is still there because he was very nice and everything ran perfectly when he was there. Update 8/13/22-I returned to Avocados because the food is good and I met one of the owners, James, and Rob who is a family member. They are both really nice guys and I asked them "so the other guy isn't hear anymore" and James replied, "you mean Andy?" I said yes as I am the one who put the review up regarding his behavior. They apologized and was so appreciative of my business and happy to see me return. I explained that I wouldn't let one bad egg keep me away from great food! Thank you James and Rob for correcting the situation and making the experience so much better! BTW the shrimp quesadillas are fantastic! read more

Buffalo chicken quesadilla was gross. I brought it back and asked for cheese quesadilla and this time with side of guac. I was charged regular price for the guac even though there was a $2.00 price difference. Even I brought it up I was told "I'm not going to worry about it" And sure enough there was no guac. Seems like some mixed reviews here on this place but I'm a complete snob and I thought it was awesome. Chili was probably the best chili I ever had. Burritos are ginormous. I had pulled pork Enchilada style. Very generous portions and a ton of meat. Only thing that was not great was the empanada. Eatcetra's empanadas are much better. But portion was great and again, decent amount of meat. Just bland. The other food made up for that though and I have super high expectations for empanadas so I'll still give 5 stars. Ordered online and food was ready just when they said it would be. Place was clean. Can't comment on service as we got take out. Overall a much better option than Chipotle for a good, quick burrito. read more

I highly recommend the Fiesta Burrito!!! It is so good with such unique flavors. They seemed to work out their kinks as far as wait times! They only have Counter service and to go. Placed a online order. Taco salad with vegetables. Drove home to find the salad was made with chicken for my vegetarian wife. I called on my way back and the person said just come in and let us know. We had takeout last night for dinner. The food was ready in 15 minutes, the girl on the phone was thorough and made sure to get the order right. The service was really good. The food was also fantastic. I had a tropical chicken quesadilla and it was delicious. I was only able to eat half. My son and daughter split a chicken and cheese quesadilla and still didn't finish it. The portions are tremendous. My husband had a spicy Vanessa burrito and he really liked it. It was also gigantic, and he couldn't finish it. I'm looking forward to eating leftovers tonight. I'm really glad I disregarded the negative reviews and gave this place a try. I can't agree with these other reviews, every time i visited avocados in there bayport and Bohemia location it was always excellent. I think the food is phenomenal and the employees are always very friendly and go out of the way to make you comfortable. I have been to the new location about 5 times and have not had one bad experience. The owner is so nice and you can tell he works hard for what he has built. Only recommendation is i wish that you were able to get one fish or shrimp taco and not buy the triple pack. Other wise i have no other complaints at all. I like the Avocados in Bayport especially since they offer a chili burrito which not many places do. I figured I'd support and try this new location. The chili burrito I got here was massive. It was so big that I couldn't pick it up without the fear of the entire insides ending up in my lap. So I propped it up and as soon as I realized I was eating it like a dog I made a complaint about it. I told them that I appreciated the generous portion, but I couldn't hold it and I might as well have ordered it in a bowl. I was told that it was because chili is, "Loose". I answered that the Bayport location has no problem making chili burritos that you can handle and then they started offering to make it again or I could have something else. They also said if I ordered something else I could still take home my original order. I decided to just ask for chips and I ate the chili burrito like it was in a bowl. I like Avocados and the attention and offers I got from the staff to make good on my disappointment was truly spot on professional. I would visit again, but I would try something besides the chili burrito or just order it in a bowl. I hope the Bayport location will teach this location to make a chili burrito that you can hold. read more

I ordered the shrimp burrito and when I looked inside the stuff that's suppose to be shrimp doesn't look like shrimp at all...it was pink and looked like a corkscrew spiral shape... it was weird because I wasn't expecting that... I'm guessing maybe it was lobster... it had a sea salt taste and the end of it looked like used to be enclosed in a shell...
