10/10 best sushi place in Long Beach. The staff is extremely sweet and understanding. They ask you if you need anything or want suggestions.

I didn't want to drop this but this is by far some of the best sushi I've ever had flavors and combinations of flavors that I have never experienced with sushi before it's my go to place when I'm in Southern California no other place comes close to it it's a little spot hidden behind the LBC Airport I urge you to hurry and go and try this place so please run don't walk to Awesome sushi and definitely try it out you won't be disappointed read more

The sushi was fine and they had some nice "Awesome Hours" deals. I was able to take my daughter here and faintly catch some glimpses of planes as they landed at Long Beach Airport. The servers were polite and overall I think this is a really solid sushi restaurant. read more

One of the best sushi restaurants in Long Beach. The food was great, and their non fish rolls were amazing. All the servers were awesome by giving their best service to our group. It's tucked right next to the LB Airport so it helped with keeping my child distracted while we waited for our food. read more

Awesome is an understatement about this place! The service here is the best of any place I dine. The servers acknowledge you by the last order you made, who you were with, and how much fun they had serving you. We love Naomi and JLo, chef and the crew! "You were here last time with your mom, how is she?" A few rolls (recommend: the awesome roll, what else?) maybe a bento box, definitely some sake and beer at this small neighborhood joint and you're set. Seating: COVID-19 protocol so as of right now has outside seating for about 30 people, 8 groups. Feels: Off a backstreet intersection with a neighborhood across and not too far from the airport. Another safe bet if you want various flavors of fresh fish. Mixed Tempura (Recommend A good portion of tempura, with two pieces each ranging from shrimp, sweet potato, or asparagus. Salmon Skin Roll (Recommend) Excellent presentation and well held together. The salmon skin was well cooked and not too burnt. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Good! It's not the best Japanese food by any means, but it's certainly not the worst either. As far as Japanese fast food, it does the job. I tried their unagi bowl, and I would have liked a little more unagi and a little less rice. After the food arrived, I wish I had gotten the bento with sashimi and mixed tempuras instead. It's a bit pricey considering it's fast food, even for Japanese food standard. The miso soup was disappointing. Their social distancing rules are pretty strict, only allowing one person inside the store to order at a time. This creates a long line outside, but I certainly felt safer. read more

I thought this place's sushi was really good. When my spouse and I arrived, it was quite crowded. The sushi chef was quite kind to us while we sat at the bar. The personnel was excellent. This is my all-time favorite restaurant in the earth. Chef Pat, the leader, and Nena, the leader's wife, form an unmatched team. Every time I walk in, I feel like family. Came here for a take out to bring my sushi out on a boat in Long Beach. Called ahead and ordered the Chef's choice platter with comes with a variety of sashimi, a spicy tuna roll, and a miso soup. I called ahead but still ended up waiting a good 10-15 min. The price will set you back $20 plus but honestly the sushi is pretty awesome. All the fish tasted really fresh and there was a good variety. It helps that it also comes with a side roll which is nice because the fish alone probably wouldn't fill me. I believe it also came with rice too. The only thing that could've made it better was actual sushi rice instead just a side of rice. Great experience all around - food, quality, quantity, service, efficiency, and pricing. They have specials pricing during lunch both on weekdays and weekends, with weekends being more expensive. I was only able to go on a weekend as I was in town for a work event, but the pricing was still decent. My only complaint is that the rolls on the menu don't have a description, so there's no way of knowing what's inside a roll without asking someone... Their rolls that have sauce come with a lot. Mediocre sushi and overcharged me. Went to this place hoping for a new place to eat sushi since we just moved in down the street. Sushi was bland. Their salmon tasted like it came out of a can. To make matters worse. They charged me DOUBLE what my tab should have been. I brought it to their attention and they said they fixed it but I checked my credit card this morning and I show that they didn't fix it. I will have to call them back and get this fixed or filed a complaint with my bank. Avoid this place if you want good sushi. Usually really enjoy this spot when eating in but tonight I ordered pick-up. Calling in was fine and the food was ready on time I think, but I was ignored for 15 minutes when I got there despite ringing the bell and trying to get the attention of staff. Then when I did get my food and get home to eat it the fish quality and cuts were far below their usual standard. The sashimi had connective tissue running through it that was tough to bite through and the taste was much, much fishier than usual on the albacore and seared tuna. Very disappointed and won't be ordering pickup again, though I'll try sir-down again because that's always been very good all around. Used to be my all time favorite spot. If we were getting sushi, there was no question as to where we would be going. Have been back twice since covid. Once we sat outside, which was honestly just an awful experience. But I didn't write a review simply because I'm sure serving food outside in the heat already has its challenges. The reason I'm writing this review is because 5 days ago we were declined service. Outside seating was full, and we were told to hand over our vaccination card for proof of vaccination or we wouldn't be served today. If I'm not mistaken, at no point should I ever have to show a vaccine card to eat at a restaurant. I'm only giving one star Becuase well their isn't a half star and the food was good BUT.... I will NOT EVER GO BACK. I also suggest you not going either. When we sat down i noticed 2 ladies yelling at eachother and other people working there ( in a fun and playful way) but it's a small place so yelling is not needed, and no it was not busy, it was more like how they talked to eachother but it was definitely yelling. This wasn't even the worst part. As we were leaving i noticed 2 of the server girls outside looking at something in the parking on the ground and i noticed it was moving. I realized it was A RAT! As minutes went by more and more employees were coming out including the cooks. They chased it into a corner, then one of the server girls took off her APRON and caught it and took it to the empty lot next to the restaurant and dropped it off, put back on her apron and they all went inside. This is 120% disgusting, health department should be called, still thinking i should call them and show them these pictures and videos. read more
