What a unique and fun experience. My partner booked some time for a date night, and it was honestly some of the most fun I had in an hour. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and will walk you through a quick form and technique intro, and within the hour you will get access to different throwing axes as time progresses. What helped me hit the center target quite a few times was imaging the faces of DJT and his cronies. Bullseye!

I've always wanted to go axe throwing. Came here around 6ish on a Tuesday. Jenna was so sweet and funny. She showed us how to throw and would help find our distance. Every 15 mins, we would get a new axe. At the end you get to throw a fire shovel and saw blades. Great place and service! Once you come once you get 15% off anything next session. I would definitely recommend and come again!

Great fun for the family or a pair! Heck, I'd go myself just to practice. I've been axe throwing before, but AxeVentures rates as very friendly and fun. Lots of lanes, and they switch it up by giving you different axes to try. The parking is pretty plentiful for Los Angeles standards, and you can always grab some food at the places that share the lot. Recommend for a fun and quick activity that works up a sweat. I can't believe I never heard of this place. This was probably one of the best, and I mean best, activities I have gone to in my life. Located in Hollywood in a tiny strip mall, AxeVentures is a creative looking place. It is your typical axe throwing adventure (hence the name). I went here yesterday with my family, and it was fun. We had a Groupon for this so lucky us. Our coach was Jenna, if I remember correctly. She was very funny with her jokes about the axe. After a quick explanation, we started throwing. I was surprised with our family results. Some of us got bullseyes, some of us got the rings around, and then most of the time, we completely missed. It was very hilarious. About halfway through the 75 minute adventure, we stopped to be introduced to the sawblade. It was sharp, but not too sharp, because the last thing this place wants is for people to exit with their hands cut up. The best technique is the underhand. We were told to leave after 75 minutes were up. We left a tip since it was more exciting than we thought. I am not 100% sure we will be back. But if it was up to me, I would definitely be back. read more

I had a great time at this place. There were 4 different axes and a saw disc. There were jumbo games to play in the safe area (jumbo connect four and jenga) the place was clean. Yes the axe throwing was great fun but to be honest Jenna was my favorite part of the experience. She was great with giving instructions and her puns were actually funny. She also gave great throwing directions. She had us ready for the zombie apocalypse. read more

This axe throwing session included a short lesson and 3 different axes to throw with; plenty of lanes to not have to share; had option to purchase targets that have paint inside for added dramatic effects. I didn't love it since it got really messy with paint all over the axe and my hands. Overall a nice place. It doesn't have a bar, but it has shares a huge parking lot in Hollywood. read more

We did a portion of my best friend's 30th birthday here over the weekend and had a great time! Both of the staff members, Jenna and am spacing the other person's name (sorry!) were so kind, helpful, and bada**! They gave instructions for both safety and skill that were puniful. We had two lanes for us, with a table to ourselves. They came back around to for individual coaching to make sure everyone was nailing it too! The part that I most enjoyed was trying out the different axe shapes and sizes. Overall really fun empowering time in a chill environment. P.S. They said you can bring pictures to pin up and throw axes at if you want to. read more

I have never been axe throwing before and decided to drop by and check it out with a friend. This shit is HARD and infuriating as all hell and I haven't had this much fun in a long LONG time. What made the experience was the coach Mr. Devin, the shit he talked was top tier but more than just being funny, he was super helpful and really took the time to help and teach. I think I've found a new hobby all because of him. What else made this dope was the company. There was another group with us and it made it even more fun. I would definitely recommend, and it's even more fun with a group. 20/10 would recommend. read more

1 person per lane but you can take turns. 3 of us used 1 lane, just had to stay in the safe zone when we weren't throwing.

And not to mention the random tweaker that kept walking around and talking to the worker . We will definitely not be back . Marc, the owner, was very nice and kind. He even allowed me to do a special request where I wore an outfit (which is a Morpshuit with t-shirt and shorts) underneath the gear used for the rage room. Very kind of him to accommodate this. I have never done a rage room before, so it was a unique experience. Shattering glass, and breaking things felt very liberating and it helped me release tension/anger. Additionally, at the very end, there was even another surprise where Marc even taught me how to throw ninja stars on the wooden board. It was super cool. At first, I couldn't get any ninja stars to stick, but on one of my final attempts, I actually did get the ninja star to stick, which was awesome!! I was pretty elated that I was able to do that! Anyways, shout out to Marc the owner for being very nice and accommodating. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cool, friendly place to do a rage room or an escape room. I should check out their escape rooms some time soon.

I…read morereserved an 8pm time slot on a Friday night and I was surprised to find it pretty empty when I got there. It's in downtown LB so you're surrounded by many bars and restaurants. There's street parking and different structures you can park in as well. It's also on the second floor of a plaza, pretty easy to find. The inside is designed weird bc the front desk isn't obvious and you have to turn a corner to find it? There was only 1 person working that shift when I arrived. Apparently other people reserved 8pm too but they all were late so my social lane ended up being just me for a while before others joined. Sebastian did a great job of explaining the rules and he was super nice always coming around to check on me and the group of friends I randomly bumped into. He was very attentive and kind and funny! This is a great activity either for date night or a friends night out! I would definitely come come back with friends and utilize the Groupon again!

My family (family of 4) had a blast here! We stayed there for about 6 hours. We did the obstacle…read morecourse twice and rented 2 kayaks while we were there. Bought 3 food items and a gatorade. But we spent alittle over $300 there on everything! There is a $35 or $45 entrance fee depending on when you come. It's just to come inside the lagoon. If you want the obstacle course it's an additional $10 per person for 55 mins (super short). If you want to kayak, use the aqua bike or use the paddleboard it's an additional $10 per equipment/item. There is a kiddie area for small and young children. They DO NOT allow outside food or drinks except water! There is a small shop that sells misc. items, snacks & drinks (overpriced). They also had a foodtruck inside that was expensive and the meals didn't come with drinks. They do have plenty of staff and lifeguards there. The entrance fee should of been $15-20. The obstacle course atleast 90-120 mins instead of the 55 mins. Wish the foodtruck came with drinks and was a bigger portion.

My younger son, who is in 2nd grade, went for the first time last year and is already so excited to go back. What really stood out to me was how quickly they both adapted. My younger son joined not knowing anyone and felt welcomed almost immediately. Both of my boys felt included from day one. The staff is incredibly caring, supportive, and attentive. You can truly feel that they work hard to create a safe, joyful environment for the kids, and as a parent that means everything. The activities are fantastic: well planned, age appropriate, engaging, and fun. The natural setting is also beautiful and feels especially important these days. My boys came home with confidence, stories, friendships, and summer memories they will cherish forever. And the camp spirit is real. We still sing the silly songs at home, especially the announcements song whenever we have a family announcement, and the birthday song too. I cannot recommend Cali Camp enough. It has been such a special part of our family's life.

LAAC has changed a lot since my last review from 10 years ago. But it now caters to a younger crowd and has substantial co-working space. I've certain found more members using the facilities but also discovered quite a bit of new programmings like the Pilates classes, mahjong club, live jazz performances and movie nights. I was not really sure about the change at the beginning but I am now fully embracing the new LAAC. Many of the staff and members have been here for a long time and it is nice to be greeted by familiar faces when coming to the club. The restaurants are pretty decent. Love to top my salad with a nice piece of salmon after workout at the Famous Players or have a tasty glass of scotch while enjoying the live jazz performance at the Invention. The sports bar Duke's has great happy hours and fun monthly evening karaoke or chess club meetings. The only thing I complain about is the need for shock absorbance and insulation of the noise or moving the weight station. The northwest corner of the Famous Players near Olive Street shakes every time the weightlifters drop their weights, which is very annoying and distracting for the diners. Feel like the ceiling or floor is going to drop out. No joke. For now, I would sit as far away from the northwest corner as I possibly can. But hope the club would look into it. I have been trying to sign up for the monthly wine tasting but they are always full. Maybe consider having the event more frequently or scale up? Regardless, I am still exploring all the new offerings at the club and really pleased with the Pilates classes and the live music performances. Although I am apprehensive when I first see the co-working space and the influx of new members, I now appreciate the additional events and classes that come with the new members and hope the club continues to do well and do better as I am here to stay.

As usual, water in the room costs money, and there are a few other products with hidden price tags in the room, too. Surprisingly, toothbrush and toothpaste was not provided. The water for showering also doesn't get too hot. In terms of the athletic space, the machines were very easy to access. There was never a wait even on weekend afternoons. The lap pool was my favorite part - clean and calm. There was some miscommunication between the lobby and the store, as one said there is no reservation system but there in fact was. But even when told all the lanes were fully reserved, more than half weren't in use. Parking is a bit of a hassle; for non-members it's definitely not worth it. At the time of visit, the parking machine wasn't working. There are also sperate elevators for parking vs the athletic club / hotel area which was a little confusing. The stair numbers also didn't coordinate the best with actual level.

Had an incredible time at AxeVentures! The staff was super friendly, fun, and made sure everyone felt safe and confident throwing, even if it was your first time. They walk you through the basics and give great tips, but still let you have your own fun. The vibe is laid-back but exciting, perfect for a night out with friends, date night, or even a team event. The space was clean, well-organized, and had such a cool, urban-meets-woodsy feel to it. Music was on point, and the energy was contagious.
