You know what's embarrassing? Eating at a place twice and thinking you wrote a review. Well, zero pictures for the assumption on this last time. I swear this place used to be an English Pub called Black Swan. It's now more Asian cuisine. I came here about 2 years ago and we did an appetizer that was like a huge bread bubble. Can't recall the name but it didn't burst when you poked it . This last trip, I did the hot and sour soup, orange chicken and sake. I was not a fan of the hot and sour soup (had an odd taste), and the crispy wontons were stale. The orange chicken was a huge portion! It wasn't bad but I've had way better. My girlfriend's mom ordered lettuce wraps and the display of them looked amazing. Will order that if I come back. Come here for the convenience of having Asian food in Cobb. We got the spicy fish, kung pao chicken, cabbage, mapo tofu, soup and more. The spicy fish dish was very watery and there wasn't too many pieces of fish in there. The kung pao chicken was very salty. I think the service here is nice but definitely can be improved. They forgot many of our items and we had to constantly ask for items such as our rice, water refills and even chopsticks. read more

We have been to this restaurant three or four times and have been impressed with the atmosphere, appetizers, entrees and friendly service. We have been exploring and looking for authentic Chinese restaurants in our area and found this hidden gem tonight. Ordered Scallion Pancake, Shanghai Wonton plus Eggplants hotpot and Numbing Picked Cabbage Fish. Everything served hot and delicious, service was also excellent so it exceeded our expectations and we'll be back trying other dishes soon. read more

We had a feast at Fire Stone. Beautifully served food! Attentive wait staff. We started with dumplings and lettuce wraps. Dumpling sauce was very tasty, and different than I've ever had. I loved it. Not my boyfriend's favorite. We also had the lettuce wraps which were beautiful but only so so in taste. We shared the duck and lamb chops. Lamb chops were tasty but lots and lots of cumin. I liked. Too much for my boyfriend. The duck was on point. Staff was super friendly and kind. Bathrooms needed a little attention. read more

Yummy! There is finally an Asian restaurant in town that serves real egg rolls- not just spring rolls! Lunch is such a good deal, I cannot understand why it is not packed everyday. Axia is a wonderful authentic Szechuan Chinese restaurant which recently opened in the space previously occupied by Firestone in East Cobb. The dishes are tasty, the portions are generous, the service is friendly and the prices are reasonable. The restaurant includes a well-stocked bar and patio dining. My wife and I love Asian food and are so pleased that we no longer have to travel to Buford Highway to enjoy a good authentic Szechuan Chinese lunch or dinner. read more

The food here is excellent. It's top of the line when it comes to Chinese food. The chef is mainly a Szechuan Chinese chef so a lot of the food tends to be spicy but they certainly have non spicy options. I had mushrooms in brown sauce with chicken. The chicken was cooked perfectly. It had the high sear with some smoky and aromatic hints that you expect from good Chinese food that cooks in high temp woks. It had a good variety of mushrooms too. The brown sauce was a perfect consistency and a great flavor as well. It was not too think or too thick. It was perfect to coat much of the dish so you got it in every bite. I also enjoyed the soup. It was one of the most flavorful hot and sour soups I have ever had. The food here cannot be beat. I will say the server was slow for only 2 tables to be in the restaurant and he did not seem to know the menu. He could not answer any questions and had to look at the menu when we said we wanted something because he didn't seem to know what they do and do not have. He did everything out and accurate though so no real complaints. I will certainly be back. read more

We've been to Fire Stone multiple times and it is our go to Chinese place. We've dined in and take-out both. I have been to china and I can very proudly say that this is the most authentic food I've had in the americas . We love their beef dishes , their oil braised fish and their Shan city shrimps / beef etc. Their servers are very well trained and would explain each item on the menu with detail. I love how authentically Chinese the place looks from the inside. The Chinese culture is depicted with a touch of the west. The only thing I would want them to improve is their chowmein/ lo mein. I have seen several foodie comments about this place being new(ish) to East Cobb. I had a quiet an unplanned evening pop up and decided to treat myself to Firestone via delivery. I ordered the Mongolian chicken with medium spice (with extra veggies), fried rice, and steamed shrimp dumplings. The portion size was plenty for me to have a very fulfilling dinner and the hubby to enjoy a lunch-sized serving too. Spice levels - I like spicy food, but am always a little cautious ordering heavy spruce levels at Asian restaurants. That said - I didn't find the medium to be overly picante, but the hubby who doesn't prefer the heat said it had a kick. I can't comment on ambience or service, as I didn't dine in the restaurant. Lettuce wraps are delicious and the lo mein is one of the best I've ever had - the noodles taste fresh with a slight chew, sauce is on point and the shrimp is perfectly cooked. Food was quite good, especially the Seafood Hot Pot as were the steamed soup dumplings. In general, portion sizes were quite small relative to the price. Steamed dumplings alone were $12.95 for 6, yikes! 5 of us dined and were given 2 small bowls of rice, seriously! Service was disappointing. Our waters were never filled unless we got up and got the water pitcher ourselves from the server stand. We may visit again in the distant future but not on the top of our list. Fire Stone Chinese is a good restaurant. We went over for lunch and they do a good job with their lunch specials. My order was eggplant with garlic sauce, which had a nice spicy kick to it. My buddy had the sesame chicken. We both enjoyed out lunches. Also nice to see 100 health score! I have been frequent diner at the original Kennesaw location (see my review). Both locations have great food. East Cobb is less fancy. Kennesaw location gives spring roll and soup with lunch special. Unfortunately not the case at East Cobb. Thus East Cobb is more expensive. .... With that said either location provides really good Chinese food. Conveniently located at busy intersection. What's consistent about this place is the friendly service, the sleek decor, but also the high prices. The quality of the food has been inconsistent, and we've visited about five times. Lately, anything we've tried fried has been saturated with oil, notably the eggplant and pancake. Seasoning across dishes has been inconsistent as well. A couple of visits have been home runs with respect to the quality of the food, but three visits were subpar. Not good enough for the high prices. read more

What happened!? This used to be so good and consistent where Firestone was part of our take out regular rotation. Since changing to AXIA, the quality has taken a dive. My go to dish is the fresh pepper chicken. There is no fresh pepper anymore in the dish. Today it was actually sweet and soy saucy - YUCK!!! If I were dining in, I would have sent it back. Unfortunately this was try number 3 trying to give it a chance but they are now consistently bad. My wife always gets the dry fried eggplant. Today - there were no peppers in that either. Oh - and we didn't even get white rice with our takeout order. The hot and sour soup was good though. I think we are moving on from AXIA. We enjoy every dish. Of course we do spicy but regular dishes are also available. The lunch menu is perfect in variety. I just had their hot pot curry with chicken, yum! We ordered Spicy Sezchuan Chicken, Orange Chicken, egg drop soup, and bang bang shrimp appetizer for delivery. The sezchuan chicken was nice and spicy ... the rest was good. We had dinner tonight at Firestone Chinese Cuisine tonight for the first time. I've been looking forward to trying it since I saw it passing by. East Cast Cobb is pretty much a Chinese food desert if you want more than the standard Americanized fare. It's located in the strip mall just north of the intersection of Johnson Ferry road and Roswell St. If you get to the Super Target, you've gone too far. It was not too busy for a Friday night and we were able to sit right down. The hostess was very pleasant and the waiter was Johnny on the spot stepping right up. Drinks and water came out quickly. The selection is very broad and has some good Szechuan options The menu said "Steamed soup buns with pork." I asked the waiter if they were Xiao Long Bao or more bread pork buns. He did not understand my question I guess because he had no answer. I rolled the dice and ordered them as an appetizer. They are my go to yardstick as to how good a Chinese restaurant really is. Big tip if you like soup dumplings. They take 15 minutes for them to make, so I would recommend ordering in advance or immediately when sitting down. I ordered Mapo Tofu and my wife asked for Spicy Eggplant with Garlic Sauce. My adventurous son stuck with Shrimp Lo Mein. We were expecting a wait for our soup dumplings, but the mains were on the table in a flash. A little disappointing, but it's ok. Presentation was great. The Ma Po was in a vessel like a clay pot split vertically while the Spicy Eggplant was in a circular pan with a burning sterno under it. Everything looked and smelled great. The eggplant was very purple and hot as fire (Temperature wise). I am always careful with eggplant in Chinese and Thai restaurants. They are little sponges soaking up boiling sauce. This was no different. Be careful with bite number one. The garlic sauce was great, but just mildly spicy. It was gone in no time staying hot with the sterno which burned out after about five minutes. It stayed nice and hot to the end. The Mapo tofu was good. Nice and heavy on the chili La which seemed like chili oil vice dried chilis, but a light on the Ma so little to none of the numbing I was looking for. Even so the taste was great. Nice garlic, fermented black beans, and silky tofu. I thoroughly enjoyed it. We were about five or more minutes in when the soup dumplings arrived. Looked perfect in a steam pan, but the skins were a little tough. I don't know if they were too thick or might have sat a while, but otherwise they were great. Just chock full of gelatin rich lip sticking soup and had rich flavor. We thoroughly enjoyed them. Lo mein is Lo mein. I tried a bite and it was good but meh, it's Lo mein. All in all very worth a visit in East Cobb. I'll be looking forward to another visit to try something else. read more

Reserved a room for eight on Christmas Day. I did not know it was no longer Firestone and had new management. Seated at six, ignored for twenty minutes. finally took orders, ignored for thirty minutes. the order drifted in over the next hour--entree and starter mixed up. drinks came last at about the hour and a half mark. I was hosting a group and didn't have the option of getting up and walking out which I would have done if I had been alone. I don't expect this place to be in business much longer as they run of the good client base that they inherited from Firestone. read more

The Beef Broccoli had a tangy flavor that didn't sit well with me. I requested some soy sauce to liven up the bland fried rice, but even the soy sauce had a vinegary taste, reminiscent of balsamic vinegar.
