Our…read morehouse was so full of ants that we would find them on rugs, on ceilings, even in our bed at night. They were everywhere. We had Campbell out a couple of time, but it got worse instead of better. Then they sent Darryl, and he earned our eternal gratitude. He found ant trails we didn't even point out, or know we had, and figured out where they were going to and coming from. He went into rooms that we hadn't reported a problem in (with permission, of course...) and showed us where additional ant activity was. Then he baited incredibly carefully, to ensure our cats would not be at risk of exposure to the bait. (Our cats loved Darryl too!) He even followed up with a text a few days later, saying he was thinking about our job, and he wanted to know if the situation had improved! Who does that?! It had improved, by 85 - 90%, but we still saw ants. So he returned and spent an equal amount of time and patience identifying their sources. He went under the house, found evidence of a new rodent incursion and then covered the whole property to mend the holes in mesh that covered crawlspace vents, set traps and then came to explain what was going on under my floors. He showed me pictures of both the problem areas and areas that appeared secure under my house. We then walked the house perimeter to show where the critters likely got in there during the recent snowstorm. I'm confident in the accuracy of his assessment. He'll be back in a week to check on the traps. I have needed a new vapor barrier down there so I will be getting a bid for that as well. All in all, the pricing was fair and the service exceptional. I've called Ground Pest Contol twice in the past year. The first time was to deal with a wasp nest…read morein our backyard. I was able to get an appointment to come without much delay. I liked that Donald explained how he was going to deal with the nest without using pesticides or chemicals. Problem solved at a fair price. The second time was to deal with an ant invasion in an upstairs bathroom. I had tried the boric acid mixed with sugar home remedy, but it didn't seem to work as effectively as usual. He said that was the right approach but it's hard to get the mix right, and he explained what he would do. I had a concern about toxicity to cats (I kept the bathroom door closed when I was trying the boric acid), and he understood the concern and explained that the approach was relatively pet-safe. The treatment involved baits and spray in the affected bathroom, plus spraying around the perimeter of the house. He found the apparent area of entry, which was on the opposite side of the house, and explained where ants are likely to congregate. I like it when experts do this -- explain the reasoning behind their actions. After a week, we still had a few ants. He came back out, did another shot of treatment (and he had said sometimes it takes more than one treatment) as part of the same invoice. Donald is very responsive to calls or texts, and as a true professional, he cares about getting the job done, even if it takes multiple visits.
