Nice spot for late night dumpling cravings Siu Mai was pretty good, I expected the Xiao Long bao and pepper beef to have more flavor Had a couple flies around my booth I had to keep waving away and one nose dived and died in my food Very welcoming server and fast service

3.7/5 stars! This location was located in a mall, and provides lots of parking. We went here because my husband eats halal and they have a variety of options! We ordered the beef and potato steamed dumplings, shrimp noodles, and mongolian beef. The food was delicious and had slightly sweet, subdued Chinese flavors. They also serve bigger portions so prices were justified, with a few dishes being more than enough to share. The service was average, our waitress was always gone so we had to ask other waiters for help, but we were helped nevertheless. Also, upon ordering our waitress told us upfront that the sushi was premade (she may have mentioned frozen even though the menu said fresh) so that was good to know since we were considering ordering them and chose otherwise. We appreciated that. Not necessarily the best or most authentic Chinese cuisine, but if you eat halal and want to eat Chinese, this is a great option for you!

A pretty spacious place in the Westfield Mall. Open, modern decor, lots of tables. The service was unbelievably fast. We got 5 dishes on the table within 20 minutes. Staff was friendly and helpful The cucumber salad was a hit, very well done. The beef bun with crispy bottom was nice, with a surprisingly sweet twist. The crab xiaolongbao was ok. Shrimp siumai was pretty good. The walnut shrimp was well done. For those of you who eat dumplings often, it is a little different because beef is used in place of pork. This I assume is a halal place.

Amazing service! :) Love supporting small businesses with high quality XLBs, especially when these taste better than the ones I've had in some of the more well-known places (iykyk). FOOD Each XLB was juicy and perfectly cooked. Refreshing real watermelon and grape fruit juices, great variety of dumplings, noodles, meats, rice, and even chocolate xlb dessert! LOVE that they also have half portions on weekdays during lunch! RECOMMEND -Def recommend getting the fresh watermelon juice! -My fav XLB are the chicken and crab beef. -Pan fried beef buns are always a go to coming out piping hot with a crispy bottom filled with delicious soup. -Their chicken wonton soup was only $5, clean and hearty. -Don't skip the shrimp siu mai, which is packed, tender, and so yummy! FREE PARKING Located inside of Westfield Culver City mall, there is plenty of parking. INSIDE Lots of spacious seating! Walk-in is never a problem and bathrooms are clean. SERVICE The manager, Nes, was extremely caring, welcoming, and charismatic. Upon getting seated, he immediately took our order and often checked up to make sure all was to our liking. When we mentioned that we preferred the watermelon juice over the grape one, he gladly offered to swap our drink! He usually doesn't work as a server, but wanted to meet customers himself and take the opportunity to see how to improve. I really appreciate a manager that truly cares about their customers and can really taste the love in their food! VALUE Great portions, quality ingredients, and good prices. OVERALL Will def be back soon! Super dumpling always hits the spot when we are craving XLBs. With great service and food, I'm excited to try their black pepper beef tenderloin and honey walnut shrimp next time. Thank you, Nes, and see you soon! :)

Great experience at Super Dumpling- at lunch they serve 1/2 portions, which is great since you can order more entrees. Started with spicy shrimp wontons (10/10), they were delicious and my favorite! Yanh chow fried noodles-8/10; spicy sesame noodles -8/10; chicken xiao long bao -7/10 - they were a little blah and I wouldn't order them again. The star of the lunch is the pan fried beef buns - 12/10- must order! Service was very prompt. Looking forward to my next visit.

A pleasant surprise! I dont usually wander this part of the mall but was lucky I did. The service was great. The hostess and waitress were super friendly and made us laugh. Just an overall enjoyable experience. The food was good too. We got soup dumplings which were full of flavor and soup. The green beans were crunchy ans garlicky. The spicy shrimp wontons were a fusion/new dish that was really good. And finally the singapore noodle was one of the best I've had in LA. Its a pretty large restaurant with lots of seating. Its inside Westfield Culver City so theres lots of parking around.

I had no idea this place has been open for a year! It was very good and tasted authentic. We got the Beef Crab XLB which was delicious. The soup was piping hot inside just like it's supposed to be. The spicy shrimp wonton special was very good; it was like a har gow. And the Singapore Rice noodle was very flavorful. I want to come back and try other dishes. The service was very friendly and the food came out fast. There didn't seem to be very many Asian workers which had me worried for a second, but I was still very pleasantly surprised with the food. The restaurant is huge. It's on the north side of the Culver City mall which I never go to, so that's why didn't know it was here. It has many tables and booths inside.

The restaurant is spacious, beautifully designed, and has a lively atmosphere with upbeat music playing throughout the dining room. They offer a variety of seating options, and our waiter greeted us promptly, providing helpful recommendations from the menu. We started with the Spicy Chicken Wontons, which were delicious. While they weren't particularly spicy, they were packed with flavor. For our entrée, we shared the Spicy Cumin Lamb with a side of rice. It was well-seasoned and flavorful, though the heat level was fairly mild, so I ended up adding a generous amount of chili oil. Overall, the service was excellent, and the food was full of flavor. I'll definitely be back to try some of their new dumpling offerings.

Halal chinese place right in culver city! It was my first time coming here and overall it was pretty decent, but id still take Nomads over this any day, different cuisine though slightly Got the pan fried dumplings, spicy chicken wontons, beef fried noodles, and orange chicken. The dishes I would probably get again are the beef pan fried dumplings and orange chicken. The beef fried noodles were not flavorful and were kinda dry had to spruce it up at home when we brought it home. Everything was ok and maybe the orange chicken was my favorite. Service was fast and attentive and there was plenty of seating inside. Its not super upscale or anything, but its nice. Its inside a mall with plenty of parking.

    Beef Mapo Tofu
    Amy C.

Located at the Westfield Culver City mall, this restaurant was a nice surprise. I wasn't much as the reviews were mixed, but since we were in the area, we decided to pop in. I ordered the mapo tofu, and it was the largest portion I've ever seen! It seriously lasted me 3 full meals. The tofu also comes with beef so keep that in mind if you're a vegetarian. The flavor is on point and spicy, and it went well with some white rice. My bf got the black pepper chicken and said it was pretty good. I had a bite, and it was decent. Neither dish came with rice, which is odd for a Chinese restaurant. We ordered a side of white rice for $2. Not a big deal but usually these dishes come with rice. Overall, a good experience, service was friendly enough but they seemed to be understaffed. There's plenty of free parking at the mall.

Half the food was good, other half would skip! Orange chicken, chicken pan fried noodles, broccoli beef are a yes! Chicken xlb were okay but there's definitely way better. Do not get the beef pancake roll, vegetable spring rolls, string beans... all very bland. Service was okay. We had to ask for water 3 or 4 times and also needed to ask for extra bowls twice. Parties over 6 are a 20% tip even thought they never checked in and we needed to ask for help multiple times. Better to get take out. Inside is just a modern Chinese style restaurant, inside the mall!

My waiters name was Win and her and the managers were so amazing, me and my cousin both got the crab fired rice. I got the lunch portion and she got the full one 10/10 we are definitely coming back soon. This is also the first restaurant I have been too where their tai tea is refillable. The crab beef stream dumpling was amazing too along with the shrimp egg roll

We arrived during lunch hours and discovered they offer lunch specials, which were surprisingly affordable. I have to admit, I'm usually skeptical of very inexpensive lunch specials because, as we say where I'm from, "sometimes cheap ends up being expensive." In other words, I worry that lower prices might mean lower quality. That was absolutely not the case here. The biggest surprise of the meal was the dan dan noodles. Wow. They were absolutely delicious--easily one of the highlights of the meal. Honestly, everything we ordered was very good. The service from our server, Carlos, was great, and another server who was blond and spoke Spanish was even more attentive. Both were very friendly and helpful. We were so hungry when we arrived that we completely missed the "Wait to be Seated" sign and almost walked halfway through the restaurant before realizing our mistake--our apologies for that! The restaurant itself feels cozy and welcoming. I visit this shopping area quite often, and I'm really glad I discovered Northern Cafe because I will definitely be coming back from time to time. If you're looking for a delicious and affordable lunch, I highly recommend trying their lunch specials. The quality of the food far exceeded my expectations, and I don't think you'll regret giving this place a try.
