This particular Azteca D'Oro is a good option if you are craving Mexican food. Azteca D'Oro is a small local chain of Mexican restaurants and this particular location has a good vibe and ambiance. The food is okay. Nothing amazing, but not terrible either. I went with a burrito and it was OK, but nothing that I would go out of my way for. All in all, I woukd have to give this place three stars. Nothing bad, but just nothing overly good and life is way too short to eat mediocre Mexican food. read more

Been here twice I believe the fresh guacamole made right at your table is their niche. I ordered the barrio tacos did not taste as authentic as others that I've had but we're OK. The queso and salsa are pretty good overall the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Customer service is OK but I do still recommend giving this place a try. read more

Didn't order food but was given the free salsa and chips to snack on while I drank. Salsa was spicy and so flavorful!! Service was a little different as we kept getting asked the same questions from two different servers. Later realized it was due to language barrier for one of them. Didn't bother me much either way. Everyone there was so kind. Mariachi band was there and performing. Wonderful to see and hear. They were so fun to watch and very interactive with the customers. Drinks were good and strong. Can't wait to go back. My cousin from NC was in awe of how Mexican it was (culture wise) and appreciated the authenticity. read more

We are always looking for other Mexican restaurant other than Garibaldi that we love so much in Apopka. Azteca is also good. It's our first time here. They have the best enchiladas with the red sauce. It's not dry like the other places. Thier tamale is okay, but they were big. They have a full bar but we didn't drink because it was a workday, so I can't review thier drinks. It is pricey but the atmosphere is nice and service is good as well as the food. read more

This place has to be one of the best Americanized Mexican restaurants on the West side of Orlando. Portions are enormous, as you can see. The restaurant is clean and new, with excellent service and friendly. I believe there is outside seating as well. I would recommend this spot to anyone who likes Americanized Mexican food. The margaritas are very large and taste fantastic with lots of choices, I think 6 or 7 flavors. When you go, if you are not sure what to order, I would recommend ordering off the combo section of the menu. That way you can try 2 or 3 different things, all coming with your choice of type of beans and type of rice. This is a small chain. While I recommend this location, the location in UCF is old and dirty with a smell that hits you in the face as you enter and lingers. I would go to this location again and recommend it, but not recommend the UCF location. read more

Came here because some coworkers suggested to meet there for lunch. Unfortunately, it was an overpriced disappointment and I don't mind spending money on good food. The service was helpful and friendly. The decor absolutely beautiful with music playing throughout. The ambience was lovely but the food left a lot to be desired. A simple quesadilla didnt even stick together, the chicken & peppers filling kept falling out. Normally quesadillas stick together because of the cheese, I guess there wasn't enough cheese. The chicken & veggies had no flavor, I've eaten ate many Mexican restaurants and this was flavorless. Even chipotle has more flavor. Such a disappointment, I will not be back. read more

Food was way to overpriced for what we were given. The Mac and Cheese was clearly Kraft Mac and cheese and was way too overpriced. The Mexican dishes did not taste authentic and for the crazy prices, not worth it at all. Save yourself money and a dinner out and maybe not go here. The service was good here though. read more

Food is delicious. Decor and ambiance are comfortable. Menu had many varied options. I'd like to say the food is authentic, but I have never been to Mexico so I really don't know. I've had a little language barrier problem on a couple of occasions, but that only serves to make me believe more in the authenticity of the food and the restaurant. There is one dish, name escapes me (I'll add it next time I go in) that is to use the vernacular of old - to die for. Bacon wrapped shrimp, chicken, steak, sausage, peppers and onions in a brow sauce with corn tortillas. Easily enough for two. Highly recommend the spot. Good drink specials, too! read more

This is typically our "date night" spot. The sangria doesn't disappoint, the mariachi is warming, and the food is delicious. They used to have a Mexican pizza that was to die for, but is no longer on the menu. We recently noticed the prices have significantly increased. And the fajitas were more veggies than meat. I have also never had carrots in a fajita, so for that I had to take a pic and remove a star. read more

It's been a while and things have changed, not for the better. Prices increased 35% over pre-pandemic so what was once a family value is now almost lux. Azteca appears to be cutting corners. We arrived with 20 minutes left for happy hour but the staff guaranteed that we waited 20 minutes (the host promised 8) for a table and then another 20 minutes for someone to take the order. No apology or explanation. Mind you, this was early evening Saturday. The restaurant wasn't crowded. No band. Maybe that comes later.The wait aside, the food was quite good and fresh. Cerviche especially enjoyable. Fajitas a bit over with fewer tortillas than several years ago. The chain, like others, is going through some lean quarters and cost cutting is evident. Perhaps owner Armando Ramos expanded too quickly. Not what it once was. The change is not unnoticed read more

Hard to believe this gem is so close! Used to go to the location in Egdewater and was so delighted to have this open nearby. Their ceviche is the best around and make sure you have the table side guacamole! Delicious and fun! We come often and love bringing people for their first visit. read more

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant. We get their catered pulled chicken a few times a year at work and I could eat until I explode. It is so moist and flavorful. When I eat in the restaurant I usually get the chicken Enchiladas or tacos. The chips and salsa are delicious and not too spicy. The menu has everything that you would want and expect from a Mexican restaurant. Service was so-so tonight. We basically saw our server when he said hello and took our order and then not again until he picked up the check. We had to get someone else to get containers for our food and to bring us the check. Not sure where he went the rest of the meal. It was a busy Friday evening so not sure if that is on-par for usual service. Other times we have gone it has been fine. Came here for Lunch with a few classmates and got seated right away. There was no wait and there was a decent amount of people in the restaurant. I couldn't tell if the restaurant was had decor since it was a little dark, everything seem to be blended in. There were a variety of Lunch Specials to choose from and I ended up ordering the Chicken Chimichanga with side of rice and refried beans. They give you a generous amount of portion, usually for lunch specials at other places they do not give you as much. Overall, the food tasted good not too salty and the chicken was tender. Service was okay, I think the waitress just came around about 1-2 times and never gave me a refill during my time eating, which by end of the meal I ask for a drink to go. read more

We walked in here and were greeted with big smiles (love it). The staff was very friendly. We got our chips and salsa immediately which all tasted very fresh and delish. The staff was very attentive. We ordered Macho Burrito and the Pollo Fundito and both dishes were very fresh, not to mention good. There was good music and the decor was beautiful. Definitely will come back for more!! read more

Three words - Honey Mango Margarita! It was absolutely delicious. If you like sweet drinks, this is definitely the one for you. I've been to several Azteca D'oro's and the food is always good. The salsa is fresh and perfect, and my love of tart foods is why the Salsa Verde Enchiladas are my go-to. read more

I tried a few dishes and most was subpar at best. The Elotes Mexicanos (Mexican street corn) was the best dish. I got a order of Birria tacos to go. There were bones in the meat of the tacos and the taste was off-putting. I have had way better Mexican food that cost a lot less. My bill was $101.47 plus a $20 tip, for food that went mostly in the trash. This was the worse Mexican food I have ever tasted. I will NOT be returning and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone else. I was charged $8.50 for a large side of guacamole. I will add a pic of this large guacamole. I was there with a group of 6 people at 5 pm. Several ordered happy hour drinks which was BOGO. We all ordered different entrees and the portions were generous. Nothing came quickly but we were busy chatting so that was ok. I had ordered a salad served in a large tortilla bowl. There wasn't a lot of flavor and the iceberg lettuce must have been wet as the whole bottom was watery. We would have stayed longer to drink and have dessert but at 6 pm a strolling mariachi band started playing and it was too loud for us. read more

While housesitting for a friend my boyfriend and I decided to try someplace new from Uber Eats. This place sounded good so we placed our order. Great choice! I ordered the chicken mole enchiladas which came with rice and beans. I also got a cup of chicken tortilla soup. My boyfriend ordered a taco salad. The food came quickly and was still hot. The soup was really good. The broth had a lot of flavor and just the right amount of spice. There were avocado pieces, a generous amount of chicken pieces (these weren't the best pieces of chicken though), and tortilla strips. The broth alone made the soup very pleasant. My boyfriend loved his taco salad. The enchilada meal was huge! I could only eat less than half. It was my first time trying mole sauce and it had a great mixture of spices. The black beans were some of the best I've had and the rice was delicious as well. There was a generous portion of chicken stuffed inside. Be careful though; I did come across one bone. Overall I enjoyed the food and would definitely try out other menu items. read more

WAY WAY TOO EXPENSIVE go to Il Potro. The food is more authentic, much better and half the price. the food was meager. I ordered 2 tacos - that was it - they provided no sour cream or salsa, and it was $15.00. wife had a taco and rice and beans $11.50. My guess is that they pay an exorbitant rent and got to charge that much. Bob read more

WHAT IS UP my fellow Yelper PEEPS!!! Here's yet another review of a local Orlando hidden gem that's sure to help you with your dinner plans today. That's if your in the mood to experience authentic Mexican food, drinks so good you'll utter famous last words like "just one more", and an ambiance including a Mariachi band you'll want to hire at your next office party...So that said, here are my thoughts on this great place..l Uh...as if you haven't already gotten the gist of how much I like, and highly recommend this place... Let's start with the food...adjectives please - deliciously flavorful, mouth watering, delectable. The tortilla chips are always warm and toasty. The house sauce is just chunky enough with the right amount of heat. I'm a creature of habit and always order the Pollo Fundido, which is shredded chicken wrapped in a tortilla, filled with jalapeño cream cheese and topped with cheese. The enchilada mole...let's just say I don't order mole anywhere and here it's soooo good. I've heard great feedback about the carne asada and the fajitas. Now for the Good stuff - Drinks. One word...can we say MARGARITA...these margaritas as SOOOOOOO DELISH that I not only crave them but compare other places and so far none compare. Some come close but not by much. The Tamarindo Margarita - OMG!!!! Spanish translation ADM!!! Order one, maybe two, not three unless you're not driving home and want to lose your name. You won't forget your name, you'll lose it and will have to come back and get it the next day. And while you're there you'll be tempted to order another which will become a viscous, but fun, cycle. I went to Azteca with my husband on 9/5/2020 around 745pm. This is our second time going out since the pandemic started. It's been over 3-4 years since we've been to Azteca. We were sat down right away and in a booth by the bar. Didn't realized the bartender would be taking care of us until she came to get our order. We weren't quite ready since my husband couldn't decide on what to eat but we did order our drinks. When she came the third time, we were ready to go. Even though I wanted to get their taquitos, I decided to order what I normally get. I ordered their combination plate and I ordered two soft flour tacos with shredded chicken, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. I normally get their rice but I don't usually eat it so I requested for white rice. My husband ordered the fajita sampler which came with chicken, steak and shrimp. He also requested the white rice. The food came out quick. The white rice comes with corn, peas and carrots. Luckily I don't mind peas and carrots so I did eat it once I pushed the corn to the side. The tacos were delicious. My husband doesn't like vegetables so he had to pick at the rice. He didn't get pico and normally doesn't order guacamole but this time around, he did and of course he didn't like it. Oh we had to wait a few minutes to ask for the tortillas because the person who brought out the food, he didn't bring it to us and we didn't realized until he left. We waited a while for refills meanwhile you see a few people walking around with nothing to do and could've gotten us refills. I had to flag down the bartender to get her attention because he needed more tortillas and he wanted more sour cream. Well for extra sour cream, it was $1.69!! No thank you. If I knew that then I would've not ordered the guacamole and I would've asked for double sour cream. It took a while for her to bring us our bill AND everything is done right there and then so you have to choose the tip right in front of her. I was getting up to go to the bathroom when she came with the bill so I didn't get to choose the tip. My husband said the choices were: no tip, 18%, 20% or something else. I would've given her 15% because the service wasn't good at all. The food was great though. Pricey but good. I hope to go back in a few months and hopefully the service is better. read more

I recently went to Orlando for a conference, and while we spent the majority of our time in a large…read moreresort and convention center, the leadership of the organization hosting the conference hosted a special dinner in one of the reservable ballrooms at the Cuba Libre Restaurant. I believe it may have been the Havana Ballroom. There was plenty of food, drinks, and mingling. The Cuba Libre Restaurant staff were great, and the venue was well laid out and worked for this event very well. When we arrived around 6:30 PM on a Saturday evening for our event, we first mingled around the tables and near the cash bar. There were a bunch of large tables that we began to fill out. As our program began and announces made and awards given out, appetizers were passed out. We were offered Guacamole Cubano, Mama Amelia's Empanadas, and Shrimp Cocktail which we passed around to the entire table. Personally, I skipped the guacamole and shrimp dishes but absolutely loved the empanadas. Yum! Then, an individual Cuban House Salad was passed out with red wine vinaigrette. This was also quite tasty. Next came the entrees including a choice of Salmon Paradiso, Ropa Vieja, Citrus Chicken, or Paella Vegetariana. I was trying to decide between the Ropa Vieja (beef brisket) and the Citrus Chicken. While the Citrus Chicken sounded perfect, I asked the serving staff their advice, and they recommended the Ropa Vieja for a true taste of Cuba. I was happy that I did even though it may have been more heavy and with a kick than I was expecting. I'm still glad I ordered it though. It was wonderfully prepared! And then, everyone received Cuban Flan for dessert. The Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar celebrates Cuban heritage and explores Cuban flavors, music, art, and traditions. The mission of the restaurant is to provide an "escape" to Havana through exciting food and beverages and entertainment experiences to celebrate the Cuban people and their culture. Orlando hosts one of several of this restaurant around the United States. This restaurant is in the midst of the Pointe Orlando. They also host weekend nightlife and shows on Fridays with a live band from 7:30 PM to 12:15 AM and a DJ and dancing from 10 PM to 2 AM on both Fridays and Saturdays. The kids got balloon animals of their favorite disney characters ( they loved them so much they took them back to MN). We decided to stop in for a Cinco de Mayo celebration after seeing promotions for surprise food and drink specials, a live DJ, and a performance by Rafael Leidenz, apparently a comedian and Juan Gabriel impersonator. Not knowing much about either performer, we thought it sounded like a fun and lively way to spend the evening. Unfortunately, the experience ended up being pretty mixed. To start, I ordered the queso dip with added chorizo along with a house margarita. The queso was fairly unremarkable, served lukewarm, while the chorizo lacked the sear and crispness that really brings out its flavor. The tortilla chips were similarly underwhelming and could have benefited from at least a touch of seasoning. Normally I would have added a little salt myself, but there weren't any salt and pepper shakers available at the table. The margarita was serviceable, though sweeter than I personally prefer. For my main, I ordered the Jalisciense Burrito with carnitas and vegetables, smothered in queso. At first glance, the burrito appeared heavily weighted toward vegetables, though they were cooked very well, the red peppers still had a pleasant al dente bite while the onions were nicely rendered. About a quarter of the way through, I finally hit the carnitas section, and from there everything came together much better. Overall, it ended up being a flavorful and enjoyable burrito. Given the holiday crowds and event atmosphere, I'm willing to chalk up some of the food and service inconsistencies to the unusually high volume. Service throughout the night was minimal and difficult to flag down, though the eventual arrival of their habanero hot sauce, after three requests, was one of the better highlights of the evening. Now for the biggest issue: the sound volume. I've attended plenty of Cinco de Mayo celebrations and more concerts than I can count, so I'm not particularly sensitive to loud environments, but this crossed into genuinely uncomfortable territory. The DJ had the speakers absolutely pegged, with occasional distortion harsh enough to make people cover their ears. By the time Rafael Leidenz began performing, my ears were already numb. To Rafael's credit, he was entertaining. I don't speak Spanish and couldn't understand most of the performance, but his subtle comedic mannerisms and stage presence were enjoyable and clearly resonated with the crowd. Unfortunately, the excessive volume made it nearly impossible to hold a conversation with anyone at the table, which overshadowed much of the evening. The good: Rafael's performance and the habanero sauce. The okay: the food. The bad: the sound level and service. Had the volume been dialed back to a level where people could actually enjoy both the entertainment and each other's company, this easily would have been a more favorable review.

Three of us got the Barria tacos, and they were very good, but again one was loaded and the other two were less. Two who ordered 2nd to last didn't get their order and the server reconfirmed their entire order as if the order was never placed. I had read other reviews that stated the service is poor when the place isn't busy. There were only two parties in the place on a Saturday evening. Both birthday parties. Not sure why less people would have poor service. I'd expect the opposite. Not sure that we will go back. There are too many other restaurants to try.

Upon finding out we were new tot he area she welcomed us and altered the manager who came by to also welcome us and gifted us an order of guac on the house which was so nice of them. We ordered tacos and a burrito, 2 margs, and a tres leche (my favorite) I have a very specific taco that I often order that was not on the menu but they allowed me to customize one that was to get it and it was delicious. No issues whatsoever. I do want to note that that evening I was a bit sick - but before you take that and run with it you need context. I have a stomach condition which can sometime act up even when I am being cautious (hence the specific taco order) For the record my husband was fine and had no issues and he ate one of my three tacos so I truly believe this was just bad luck for me and my own very specific ailments. It will not stop us from returning - I'll just come prepared with medication. As a last and very sweet note, they actually comped our entire meal as a welcome to the area. How sweet is that? It was so unexpected and so kind. We left a large tip for the server and thanked the manager in person. We'll absolutely be back and we have finally found our new neighborhood spot
