Stop in for dinner with friends. The menu is a lot to choose from. I had the carne asadas and my wife had the Mexican pizza. The flavor was yummy and on point! Beware they charge $2.00 for a side of sour cream which I didn't know until I got the bill. Chips and salsa are served while you wait for your meal. Service was ok but not great because I order a glass of beer and didn't get it till 15 mins later which I had to remind our server. Also because the plates were hot and it was hard for the server to reach across us she spilled a lot of the sauce and flavoring on the table and it was not pretty sight. I suggest coming around and serving it instead of reaching across and that could prevent spillage. Overall experience was ok but not thinking of rushing to come back. read more

I usually refrain from reviewing chain restaurants, but my experience here last Friday evening was horrible! I ordered a mixed drink that appeared to have more juice than alcohol My dish was hot, but the chicken was dry, lack of seasoning Chips cold and stale Had to ask more than a few times for dining items that usually are given without asking I am sad to say that this establishments quality of food has declined. Came here today for lunch with my girlfriend. She didn't want to drive all the way into Renton to go to our preferred Mexi lunch place La Hacienda. We sat in the bar & got chips with salsa & bean dip. Not bad, but not great. The chips were a little greasy & the salsa had big pieces of onion in it. Friend had a chicken enchilada with verde sauce & about a half pound of melted cheese on top. I ordered the grilled chicken chimis and received bean chimis with a little chicken in it. Everything tasted all right & temperature & portion size were okay. The area it is in is kinda depressing. Next to a Goodwill and a Grocery Outlet Store. I don't think I'd want to park my car in the area at night. read more

The restaurant has good food and a nice atmosphere. My husband loved their enchiladas, while I got a cream burrito (the cream was sour cream and something mixed together) and it was good but the cream was a little overpowering for me so I'd try a different dish next time. We will definitely be back though. They had good chips and salsa, which they promptly refilled when ours got low. The server was very kind, checked in frequently, but didn't hover which was nice. How do you get the be the regions oldest Mexican Restaurant chain and have the worst possible reviews and declining sales? I'll answer that for everyone reading. It's by abandoning every Mexican and serving food on par with TV dinners and Fast Food. This time last week, I was on a taco high. Between Tijuana and San Diego, it was obvious that Mexican people truly embrace the culture of street taco's and blistering heat. Back in Seattle, Azteca is serving meals that taste like they use low quality meats and Cheese Whiz. I started with Steak Taco's. not good, super salty and not Carne Asada or Taco's Al Carbon. Not wanted me to leave unhappy, I was served an alternative meal of quesadilla. Instead of grilled white chicken, I got dirty chicken in a greasy cheesy mess. The tortilla was not grilled and everything tasted microwaved. I am done with these guys. Azteca doesn't give AF and it shows in the product, service and prices. After the garbage served to me at Southcenter, I wrote that location off, but I can now see that anything related to Azteca needs to be avoided and the Ramos name had been permanently soiled and I'm sure the original owner died praying his legacy would be sustained, but anyone related to the family should be flat out embarrassed to look at the crappy reviews restaurants are getting nearly 50 years since its inception. read more

We catered a work lunch through Azteca and the entire experience was terrible: the service, the food, the timing and the response to our problems. One of our vendors kindly provided us with visa gift cards in order to buy lunch for the office for the holidays, we know that some places will accept these and some places will not, so we called Azteca, let them know our budget and how many people we were looking to feed. They assured us they could take the cards, they quoted us a price within our budget and gave us a menu. Everyone was really looking forward to getting together for a fun office party. The day of the lunch arrived and absolutely everything went wrong. The lunch was somehow both late and cold, our receptionist had to wait in their lobby for nearly a half hour after the time they told us it would be ready. They told us (once the food was finally ready) that the price had gone up (taking it outside of our budget) AND that they couldn't accept the gift cards. We had to scramble and have one of our managers pay for the lunch instead. When we tried to talk about the issues they told us that the person who took the order wasn't in the restaurant that day and that they were the only person who could help us. Once we got the food back to the office (and by this point everyone was angry-hungry because it was quite late), we realized that the order was wrong! We didn't get the food we were expecting at all, we only received one type of meat and no soft taco shells at all. The food itself was just awful. As well as being cold, the meat was extremely greasy and poorly seasoned, the re-fried bean somehow managed to be slimy and the taco shells were stale. We were all extremely disappointed. It was supposed to be a time for us to chow down and enjoy each other's company, but instead it was a hungry, angry day. We ended up throwing away most of the food. We have still not heard back from the only person at the restaurant who could help us at Azteca. We cater a number of events every year and we will not be using them again. read more

Attempted to cater a work luncheon last week through Azteca. We called ahead to discuss payment method and budget, and were assured our method of payment would be accepted. Our receptionist showed up at the designated time to pick up the food, only to find that our payment method would not be accepted, despite previous assurance that it would be. Not only that, but we were charged more than what was agreed upon. Our employees had to pay out of pocket. Upon return to the office, it was found that a good portion of what we ordered was missing, and what we did receive was of poor quality. We ate a bit, but ended up throwing most of it out as it wasn't very good. When we called the restaurant to get answers, we were told we would receive a call back. We never did. This review would have probably been different if we had heard from the manager as promised, but instead we were put off. We have gotten food here before without issue, but we will not be returning. read more

Update 7/17/17: I got the refried beans and rice over the weekend and it has been hell. Within hours of eating, I felt an upset stomach. By Sunday, I had awful diarrhea and wanted to vomit. I will not be coming back. This is the only place we trust enough to eat Mexican food from. Especially their vegetarian dishes now that I've stopped eating meat for moral and ethical reasons. I am really mad and disappointed of my favorite Mexican restaurant, I came there last Monday at lunch time (2pm), i was really excited because I do love it there but this time I wasn't pleased, I ordered the macho burrito, and it was disgusting, rice and beans were totally cold, and the asada was burn, also it was really ugly, not really provocative and IT HAD A HAIR on it, I couldn't even eat it.. Ordered for a delivery didn't get half of my order, my kid opens his nachos they are burnt and we drained about 1/4 cup of grease off of the aluminum foil plate. The chips for our cheese dip burnt the cheese dip itself had lumps of half melted what looked like cheese skin as if it was microwaved. Doordash has been doing a 7 off 10 promo every Thursday for the last month or so, and I've been trying out different pickup places in the area The food here is subpar Tex-Mex, it's not terrible but not remotely authentic. The beans taste premade, the tamale and enchilada were just ok but all of it was bland and salty simultaneously. The chips were actually the best item in the bag, and that is disappointing. If you want real Mexican food, go down the hill to Rinconsito or El Sabor; it's far better and less expensive. read more

I ordered a macho burrito with ground beef. There was nothing macho about it! If I didn't order it I would've never guessed that was ground beef in my burrito. Run of the mill Azteca! Very nice employees, refills on chips and salsa at all times. The only thing I was bugged by was that our waiters didn't bring us water until we asked... Isn't that usually standard? Oh well. I had the Vallarta Martini and wooooo. That drink is STRONG. I had two and I was doin' alright - they're really melony, but they're good! I had the Carne Asada y Mojo, which is my favorite meal there. The carne asade was okay, it was kind of tough. The shrimp & mushrooms though? Always on point. So good. I feel that El Charro about 10 minutes away from here is much more authentic, but I don't have a problem eating here either. read more

Not too shabby. I'm from Southern California so I'm a little harsh on Mexican restaurants. Everyone at this Azteca is pretty friendly. They have a decent happy hour and there seems to always be a seat available. The prices are good for the amount of food you receive. My husband generally always orders the macho burrito and this thing is huge! The drinks have bite, which is great. I love that chips, salsa and bean dip are on your table right after you sit down. Check your val pak you get in the mail, they generally have a buy one get one free coupon for dinner. We went one night with what we thought was an Azteca coupon, turned out to be for Las Margaritas. We usually come here because of the food & our favorite waitress. Our daughter is 4 and eats rice and beans, with a Rootbeer or Sprite & a "bowl of cherries." And yes, the waitress smiles and brings her a bowl of cherries. She even brought her a rose once. We seriously love this place! And the singers, that's another hit we all enjoy! We generally give this place 4 to 5 stars! We come hungry and leave happy. However, the other day, Sunday we visited and out service was just ok. My daughters Sprite tasted like Club soda. My first drink was sour, but the second one was perfect. Three drinks, two sent back, rough start. The wait staff was not stopping by to see if we needed anything. That was frustrating and not what we are used to since the place was not super busy and four people were standing at the front counter. Our food came, it was great. Carne was perfect. Mojo de Ajo was perfect. . . Right up until my BF found something very hard in his food. Long story short, it was a tiny pebble. Because ... They make their very own refried beans. Ok I can see how that happens. I reported it. The manager asked if I wanted to complete an incident report; not exactly but should you document the issue? He took $10.50 off of our meal. After thinking about this for two days I'm a little upset. My daughter eats those beans; a chipped or broken tooth on ANY 4 year old (or young child) would be horribly unpleasant. And, how do you allow a customer to find a rock in their food and then take $10.50 off their bill. My BF is a bit upset although thankfully his teeth are fine .. We got lucky! Like finding the gold egg on Easter lucky .. No unwanted or expensive trips to the dentist. I am a bit shocked & there is nothing to say this won't happen again. I am proud of them for making real home-made food .... but this seems like a very bad issue to have! I'm very sad cause this is our go to place for Mexican in Kent. :/ It breaks my heart to give them 2 Stars but this experience gave us a Rock and Subpar service. read more

I just recently moved to Seattle Washington from Kent and my parents still lived there and I tried to order a special surprise for my mother's birthday and the party plater was not listed on their delivery service and I had to call the restaurant to order and Maria was so good to me. She understood that I was coming from Seattle to Kent and she made sure all the food was prepared by the time I got there. (Which was like 45 minutes). Out of the franchise Mexican restaurants which include, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cobos, Las Margaritas, El Coporal. Azteca is the best. I've been to the one in Spokane, Federal Way, Tacoma and Kent. Their food stands out above the rest and they margaritas are superb. I've ordered the carne asada plate, the Bandera ensalada is one of my favorites, the carnita tacos, the green enchiladas are so delicious. If you want the best ceviche, this place has it. And I can not forget the service it is on point. They are very attentive. Give it a try you won't be disappointed. read more

I waited for this to happen again before i wrote a review. I'm talking about how this restaurant will keep part of your change when you pay cash! Usually, most restaurants with integrity will round up and give you more change than you really should get. For example, at other restaurants I've patronized, if my change should be $5.70, they will give me back, $6.00. At this particular Azteca, they took the change owed me. I paid with a $20, expecting to get $6.40 back. INSTEAD, these thieves gave me back $6.00. This HAS HAPPENED TWICE NOW ON TWO VISITS. It's too bad they aren't honest. Was pretty excited, our 14 year old request Azteca for her birthday dinner. We asked the team after dinner would they be able to sing happy birthday to her, was told yes. Our family of 5 ate 4 out of the 5 meals at 4 seperate times. Each meal came out 5-10 mins apart. The 5th meal did not come out at all which we request to cancel since it was taking too long. The restaurant was not busy. No apology or feedback on the delayed meal. We were just handed our check and the water walked off. My boyfriend and I stopped by this place as a last minute dinner decision because we drove by it and it was literally 1 minute away from house (we never noticed this Azteca before because it's in a little center next to McDonalds). We've been to the Southcenter Azteca a couple times and the food at that location is better. The food here is mediocre, fine for dinner if you're craving Mexican and just need a quick fix. The server that we got was awesome, so 5 stars for Karen G. She was super helpful, checking on us if we were ok at least 5 times. read more
