    Lobster Mac & Cheese

We went during restaurant. We got shrimp fajitas, crabcake sliders, lobster mac & cheese, and an empanada. I feel like the fajitas are pretty standard. The standouts were the lobster mac & cheese, and the crabcake slider stove over really good. I do plan on going back. Waitress was excellent. Kind of dark for liking. I didn't like sitting at the night top table. The chair wasn't comfortable.

We came here to celebrate Mother's Day. There were probably better options out there, but this is what my wife chose. Service was great at the beginning but it took awhile for us to get your check and pay. We were able to get seated right away. They offered us patio seating which we took, but then sat us down at a table basically in the parking lot. Personally, if I was a restaurant owner, I would cut that section off and not put tables there. Very unattractive and sets anyone up to have a terrible dining experience. The decor inside was nice though, probably should have just stayed inside on such a nice day. The food came out relatively quick and overall delicious. We ordered fried calamari. The breading had great flavor but fell apart quickly, it was served with chipotle aioli which was good. My wife ordered their Skirt Steak Entree. It came with salsa, rice, refried beans and tortillas. The skirt steak was cooked perfectly and tasted great. I ordered their Grilled Salmon. It came with a tequila honey glaze, topped with fire roasted salsa, and avocados and served with rice and garlic bread. This dish was really good. I didn't taste much tequila in the glaze but overall I recalled liked the sweetness in the glaze. It's definitely on the pricier side, but I wouldn't rule this place out. I can see myself returning, just not anytime soon.

I was very excited to be back, we had tickets for Arabic night. Got hungry came down, very disappointed. It took 15 minutes for us to get water served. Got the food about 20 min in, food was good. But the service sucks. We haven't seen the young server lady since we ordered. We had to ask a guy in a maroon shirt to bring a small box and the check. We also had to ask for napkins and the check about 3 times. Could have honestly walked out and no one would have noticed. That's how bad service was. Currently writing this review and no server or check has come to the table. I would have given 5 starts since the food was fire, but to me good service comes first. 10:44pm still waiting for the check

The taste of the food was fantastic. The arrachera was so soft and juicy and cooked perfectly. The rice and beans also had good flavor which was a pleasant surprise and the presentation was nice. I haven't had lobster in years and this was amazinggg the butter they use is just chefs kiss. The issue I had was the ceviche, $16 for a tiny little portion with barely any shrimp or lime was not it unfortunately. Giving us 3 little shrimps with it? Come on, at least 5 not even asking for the bowl to be surrounded. The ice cream as well was very good, the churros were warm; but same issue, it was tiny. I'm sure it's good business practice, but dang you guys are already charging $17 just for parking. The service was okay, not the best but certainly not the worst. The timing for the food wasn't long at all. The ceviche came out almost right away, entrees were delivered quicker than most. I guess it was just the staff that didn't feel all that enthusiastic about being there. The interior also felt kind of empty, I was expecting more blue for a place called azul, yes it did have blue color, but it needed more. Overall, Azul's food is exceptional, but the over pricing on everything and the less than stellar staff wouldn't make me want to return here for a special occasion. Between 2 people ordering an appetizer, a dessert, 2 entrees, and 2 drinks, and parking the bill was OVER $200 and that isn't including the tip.

Azul is a Mexican/Seafood place & it is sooo good!!!! We were originally seated by the door on a freezing January night, but were told right away that once something opened up we could be moved. It only took about 10 minutes to move us & then we were seated right by a window facing the water, so our service started out amazingly! We ordered so much food for only 3 people. Our favorites were the mini lobster rolls. They on the most amazing, buttery, lightly toasted rolls with chilled lobster on the inside. Definitely a must have. I also love my ahi tuna taco that came on a lettuce wrap. It was seared (so not super raw like normal "ahi" tuna), which I was a fan of. The lettuce wrap made it feel fresh and light. I loved the guacamole too - avocado was super fresh and I was a huge fan of the thick tortilla chips. We also got the pozole soup - be warned it was SO SPICY. My friends with a very high spice tolerance could barely handle it. Crab cake was good, but nothing to write home about - I would order the lobster roll over the crab cake. The inside was upbeat and fun. Great place to come with a group of friends before going out. I can't wait to come back in the summer when it's nice out, so we can sit right on the water.

Azul Mariscos is located in the Goose Island neighborhood along the Chicago river. It's take on Latin-inspired seafood is done in a beautiful and tasty style. The night I decided to go was cold and rainy, but they greet you with a shot of alcohol when you first arrive. Because of health reasons I had to decline, but what a great way to get the night started if that's your thing! From the menu, we ate the Lobster Empanadas, Chilean Sea Bass, and Seafood Enchiladas. All absolutely delicious. The Chilean Sea Bass was phenomenal! The restaurant offers valet parking at $20, which can be convenient if there isn't any street parking available nearby. We went during a weeknight around 7pm. It wasn't crowded, but as we were beginning to leave, it was becoming more busy. I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. I'd definitely go during the daytime so that I can get a better view of the river and Chicago skyline.

Beautiful restaurant. Super staff; friendly and attentive. But the food? Meh! I was so looking forward to the Aquachilies. No. No. No. tasted nothing like the authentic dish abuelita makes. Idk what they were trying to do with this. The octopus was delicious but so oily. I had to let it drip a minute before eating. We ate here before a Salt Shed show. I missed the end of the show because that shrimp in the aquachilies made me sick. I thought something was off, but figured it was the style. This is a place for drinks. Not food. And the outdoor patio? Ugh. Right in the valet lot, smelling car exhaust and hearing people yell at the valets. Waaaa

    Welcome drink: Peach Margarita

The ambiance is everything! It wasn't too busy when we went, so we enjoyed a large, comfy booth along the window, where we were able to gaze out on the Chicago River. The welcome drink of the day was a peach margarita. It was so tasty that I ordered it for my official beverage. I only needed 1 - these margaritas pack a PUNCH, but they're so flavorful. Queso Fundido: this isn't your average queso fundido. It had both shrimp and chorizo and was topped with avocado. It was rich but super delectable. We literally couldn't stop eating it. Lobster Empanadas: I have absolutely no words for how good these were! Typically, empanada dough can get gooey and mushy, but not this dough. It was warm and crispy and was perfectly stuffed with the lobster filling. I'm still kicking myself for not getting an order to go. Fried Red Snapper: the fish was perfectly tender and moist. You have your choice of garlic butter sauce or roasted tomato sauce. We got both, and I'm glad we did. Each sauce provided a different flavor for the fish, and we enjoyed both. Surprisingly/shockingly, the rice that came with the dish wasn't a throw-away - it was really good! I've been thinking about this food since my first-time visit. I cannot wait to return to Azul! Sidenote: Parking can be a challenge so Uber might be your best bet during peak hours. #ImNotAFoodie #ImJustAGirlWhoLovesFood #YelpEliteSquad

I stopped by here last Saturday with a group of ladies. We were celebrating a mutual friend belated birthday. The vibe is much like a club in the sense of atmosphere. Loud hype techno type of music. The artwork outside is pretty cool. There was also a cute little swing out back. The food was just aliright along with the service from staff. Most of the bust boys didn't speak any English, which made it very difficult to communicate. However, the drinks were AMAZING! The right amount of alcohol to creep on you but not have you hung over. I had the Chipotle Mac, which was dry and SALTY as hell. I don't think I taste a single piece of lobster . The group ordered a stuffed pineapple, salmon, elote and crab cakes. Overall, it was just ok but definitely not the place for conversation. Too loud! I also didn't like that we couldn't have separate checks though we were a small party of 8.

Quite pricy. The music playing was great. We were greeted with a mango shot which was delicious. I ordered the shrimp po boy and it was a good appetizer. We ordered the margarita tower. Be prepared to drop a pretty penny.

We went to Azul for Chicago restaurant week, and the food was delicious! Definitely recommend the red snapper and the churros. Regularly prices seemed a bit high, but it was a good deal for the $45 restaurant week menu. Cool vibe and friendly staff.

Amazing atmosphere. Even more amazing people. Grateful for this hospitality group that brings consistent hospitality to our city.

    What is the parking situation?

There's side parking for free if you find any or they have a parking lot that's valet for $12-20

    Are walk ins available?

I wouldn't try it, especially on the weekends. Place is popular. Easy enough to make a reservation on OpenTable.

Is this place appropriate to bring kids?

Children under 21 are welcome before 9pm; we do have a kids menu also.

If I were to make a reservation, how many people are allowed per table?

Hi Kimberly, the current requirements are 6 per table indoors, groups larger than 6 need to be seated at tables 6ft apart.

It opened as a…read morepartnership between Miami Beach's iconic Joe's Stone Crab and Lettuce Entertain You, bringing South Florida to Grand and Rush. I first went when it was still a huge, buzzy Chicago spot, and one of my most memorable dinners came after my high school graduation in 2003. I even got a speeding ticket on Lake Shore Drive with my grandmother in the back seat on the way to dinner, which still makes me laugh. Chicago was an especially fun place for Joe's to arrive. Open outcry trading was still a force, and the wealth creation around it was wild: people who had dropped out of high school could become millionaires in their twenties, while math PhDs from the University of Chicago could make fortunes in the same ecosystem. It was a golden era for hustle culture, when commerce idolized Tony Montana in a way that today is more likely to idolize Jamie Dimon or David Solomon. Death Row and Bad Boy ruled the airwaves, while Michael, Shaq, Kobe, and Allen Iverson defined the NBA. Basketball was so dominant in Chicago culture during my coming of age that I still map other things, including restaurants, to NBA teams. Joe's felt like the Miami Heat coming to Chicago in much the same way Smith & Wollensky represented the New York Knicks: each brought a recognizable piece of its hometown culture into another major city. Joe's brought real South Florida sizzle to Chicago, and it landed at exactly the right moment. Going there felt like an occasion. Florida took longer for me to understand in full. My family has roots in the state going back decades, farther north along the Atlantic coast, and I didn't visit Miami until March 2007, when my sister started graduate school in Coral Gables. That trip began my love affair with Miami and helped me understand why the original Joe's was such an institution. A close family friend's father spent time around Miami in the 1960s and 1970s. He knew local fishermen who caught stone crabs, which gave me an appreciation for the older South Florida culture around the food, separate from Joe's own history. Another Joe's memory captures an entirely different moment. Looking through my OpenTable history, my July 31, 2008 reservation at Joe's in Chicago is the earliest reservation I can find at a restaurant that is still open today. I was 23, working at UBS, preparing to move to New York while the firm was already on fire from its mortgage losses, and Lehman would file for bankruptcy just weeks later. I was broke but wildly aspirational, dreaming about dinners at Balthazar, begging my way past the doors at Cain and Tenjune, hoping to drink for free, and trying to meet women comically far out of my league. Through all of those memories, the restaurant itself has been remarkably consistent. The stone crab claws are incredible, the seafood is excellent, and Joe's holds its own among Chicago's serious steakhouses. The room has traditionally felt a little more formal than Miami, with bow ties, polished service, and a darker old-school steakhouse rhythm, while still being genuinely welcoming. Finish with the key lime pie. Years later, my wife and I held our wedding reception at RPM Seafood, another Lettuce restaurant, then ate at the original Joe's during our honeymoon in Miami during COVID days later, which felt like a fitting circle back. In sheer range of venues, repeatability of quality and atmosphere, and consistency of hits, Lettuce is the gold standard in Chicago, with some of that same reach in Vegas and DC. I've been extraordinarily privileged in my exposure to hospitality, and I still repeatedly admire Rich Melman's model, taste, and execution, now carried forward by the next generation of the family. Joe's is a prime example: world-class, durable, unmistakably Chicago, and absolutely somewhere I want to return next time I'm in town with some dough to spend. While Joe's may not be French, this place still earns my highest marks: très bien!

Available only in the bar area, we were able to find a table for two inside by the windows, in spite of it being very packed. Our server was quick to approach our table, even though hubs had wandered over to the bar to order. After I summoned him back, we ordered a couple of Stellas, a Filet Slider and Baked Goat Cheese; each item was $5 on the HH menu. A few minutes later, Hubs waved over our server again to order 4 oysters, which were BOGO during HH. Upon her suggestion, he chose the smaller East Coast oysters. He told me they were really good and he was happy with his choice. I had two good bites of the filet slider & was delighted at how delicious it was. The piece of meat was quite large, especially for $5! Thick & juicy, it was cooked perfectly medium rare. The slider was plated with lots of crispy string fries that were very tasty. Our other app, the baked goat cheese, was served atop a skillet of tomato sauce with four pieces of toasted bread. This was also a delicious plate. Service was very on-point, and we never felt rushed, even after Happy Hour ended. At some point, the pianist arrived & we enjoyed a rousing selection of yacht rock tunes as we finished our beers. My favorite piece of ambiance was the steampunk-powered ceiling fans, even though they probably did very little to circulate the air. The decor was vintage travel, which I loved! John Hughes would have approved. A little background, because the setting here is not an accident. RPM Seafood is Bill and Giuliana Rancic's partnership with Lettuce Entertain You, opened on the riverfront at Clark Street in early 2020 and designed by the Rockwell Group to feel like a seaside town somewhere between France and Italy. Two levels, floor to ceiling glass, and an outdoor patio big enough to be a real restaurant rather than an overflow section. On the right day, that deck is the best seat in the building and it is not a close call. We went with the three course lunch, and that was the correct decision. First course was the Yellowfin Tuna Crispy Rice with spicy mayo and serrano. Light, bright, and portioned exactly right, the kind of opener that wakes your palate up instead of filling you up before the good part. Second course is the reason I am writing this. The Simply Grilled Branzino with fire kissed tomatoes and Amalfi salt was some of the best fish I have eaten in Chicago, and in this city that is a high bar to clear. There is nowhere to hide on a plate like that. No sauce doing the heavy lifting, no clever garnish, just a beautiful piece of fish, live fire, good salt and a kitchen confident enough to leave it alone. One tip I will pass along: squeeze the lemon over the entire fillet before your first bite. You are welcome. Dessert kept the run going. Tara took the Dark Chocolate Gelato and I went with the Seasonal Sorbet, cherry the day we were in. Now, the service, which I want people to understand because it is the hardest thing on this list to teach. Our table was looked after all afternoon by someone who was always there and somehow never in the way. Glasses handled before we noticed, courses paced to the conversation instead of the ticket time, and not one interruption in the middle of a story. That is a real skill, and it is the reason a two hour lunch felt like it lasted twenty minutes. The rosé deserves its own paragraph. They were pouring something special from South Africa that day, and it was exactly right: cold, crisp, dry without turning austere, and nothing like the candied fruit a lot of places pour by the glass once the weather turns. Ask what they have open, because it made the meal. Two practical things. Reservations are a must here even at lunch, although we booked ours the same day and had no trouble. And the deck is entirely at the mercy of the forecast, so watch the weather and let it pick your date. This is a place worth waiting for the right afternoon. Five stars, which is all the scale allows me. We sat out there long enough to watch the light change on the water, and we will be back any chance we get.

I got a drink which I asked waiter if it was sweeter than other one and he said yes but it was really tangy but refreshing. Because it was a graduation celebration, I really wished the experience had felt a bit more special. After finishing our main courses, we waited a long time for a dessert menu to order a sweet treat to mark the occasion. Eventually, it took so long that we just decided to leave before we could even get one. Great atmosphere and good food, but the long wait times at the door and between courses made the night feel a bit rushed at the end.
