The staff was friendly and facilities were clean, but the services were not worth the prices charged. I had a "deluxe" pedicure and had to ask that my feet be pumiced where I had dry dead skin. If I hadn't asked, it wouldn't have been done. I asked for my nails to be cut and then had to request that they be filed to be even. Again, if I hadn't asked, it wouldn't have been done. I had a dip manicure done, and when my nails were filed/shaped, they were left uneven rough edges until I asked to asked to have them fixed. All of this cost $112 before tip. I have always been happy with this nice big salon until today. I went the day before yesterday for a fill and pedi. The technician- Andy- was way too rough with my massage during the pedi. I asked him to take it easy. Was I being a wuss? I woke up to a bruised foot! I texted the salon for the manager to call. Nothing. I just called them and spoke to the manger. She did not seemed overly concerned and offered only an "I'm sorry". No compensation or any other offer to make it right. I'm 38 weeks pregnant and my husband told me to get a pedicure because my poor swollen feet are dying in this August heat. I think I got amber. Young girl. Neck tattoo. She was cold. Never really spoke much. I wanted the aloe Vera pedicure but she came back with all the aloe Vera things to compliment it except that and said they were out. And asked me if she could use the pineapple or orange. I chose orange. She kept forcing my feet perfectly straight and it was hurting me. The massage, she literally just focused on my feet, and it would've been nice to do my calves as well. I never said "focus on my feet". Then all she really did was squeeze my feet with tons of pressure. The 1st foot was an ok amount of time. The 2nd was about 3 minutes and honestly it hurt so much, I wanted her to stop anyway. She didn't clip my nails. I told her I wanted them all even. She filed them but it was pretty bad because all of them are not even the same shape. When everything was done and it was ready to paint she shoved my shoes on without telling me. (I was preoccupied with my phone) and then cont to shove the nail separators. Add swollen toes and it was uncomfortable. She painted my toes and then told me sit under the dryer. When I got to the dryer I asked her to take the separators off. She said "no". I said "yes" and she said the paint will mess up. I said "they're hurting me" because they really were. She said if she did she wouldn't be responsible for them if they mess up. You're kidding? I'm not trying to be difficult but it was highly uncomfortable. Anyways they were removed and I saw under the dryer. While waiting she told me to pay and she'd take it to the register. I told her I'd wait. She said something about having to clean up and she wouldn't be up here to take my payment. I said that's ok I know I can pay myself. She rolled her eyes and huffed off and I never saw her again. It's a shame. This was suppose to be a treat but honestly it wasn't good or relaxing. Thanks. read more

Not what I expected & not worth the price I payed. I went in requesting a light pink gel color. I've gotten this color many of times. the paint job was thick and bulky so I asked the tech to redo it. I went to this spa with my friend to get our nails done for a wedding. The place is very nicely decorated and clean. They offer all services. All the people doing your nails are Asian, which I thought was funny. My lady was really nice but she was so fast with my nails! I was done in like 20 mins. and with gel polish is usually takes longer from my past experiences. But she did do a good job. My only complaint is the the line for my french manicure could have been a little thinner, and had she asked before doing it I could have conveyed that. Other than that it was a good experience. I usually do my nails on my own and I never like to pay salon prices. I was out of there with $50 less in my wallett, so it is pricey. read more

One star= atmosphere is nice and spa-like. Second star= my powder dip nails held up very well 3 weeks actually & i like to work outside. No more stars due to excessive price, not good hygienic rules followed. I would not get a powder dip there again for they dip whole finger in the powder rather than sprinkling with spoon over. ( my cuticles that were cut by tech bleeding a little were dipped in the whole powder jar) tech also dabbed my cut with clear nail polish...ouch!! My niece and I both got pedicures. She got gel polish and I got traditional nail polish. Both of our nail technicians were friendly without being overly chatty. They both did an excellent job. My only complaint is the overpowering chemical odor throughout the spa. At a certain point during my pedicure I started wondering about the health effects of the chemicals. And then I started to worry about the employees who are exposed to this on a daily basis. This concern did negatively impact my overall enjoyment. My advice to the owners would be to invest in a better ventilation system. Will I return? Probably, but not as often as I would like. read more

I've been getting dip the last 3 times at my daughters in nc I came back home and wanted to continue with the dip. I had it done here and it was terrible. the dip lasted for 3.5 weeks in nc longer if I let it go, I had it done here and lasted less than 2 weeks and began to peel. the price quoted over the phone was 35$ they charged me 50$ I did not have anything special just the dip. I will say, I only came here because I was visiting the area for a wedding and didn't have time to get my nails done in my hometown. If nothing else, they are over priced. Definitely pay close attention to what you are paying for before you actually go in. They have separate charges for a manicure (cuticle care, shaping, etc) and gel polish (just the polish), as if people actually come in and say, "no, please don't take care of my cuticles, or shape my nails, just the paint thanks". Not only that, but the customer service is sub par (which I think says more about the company rather than just this location). As if that weren't enough, this gel polish didn't even last a week. Juries still out on this one. Having only been one time to get a pedicure I can't say i was wowed. The smell is overwhelming for those of us with respiratory issues and one of the main reasons my wife can't get me into these places in the first place. The techs were busy talking in another language and weren't really personality driven. I will concur with another reviewer it was the shortest pedicure I've ever ever had. Seems nail places have become a bit clicky lately with all these rules discriminatory towards either weight or medical conditions. Business is business and i tip well for good service. I will either start doing my own toes in the future or wait till my favorite nail tech Leigha starts working again somewhere or i guess my feet will fall off. I went with my 90 year old mother for deluxe pedicures. It was extremely stressful. The employees are robotic and not at all welcoming or helpful. It's up to you to wander around and ask where you check in or how things work for those of us experiencing our first (and last) visit. Neither of us felt special. It was an assembly line of get it done and get them out. There was an entire row of seats open but they put us next to a grandpa getting a pedicure with his toddler laying on him while he played a cartoon on his phone with full throttle volume, which was more for him than the child unless the little one was stone deaf. Questions were coming at us like machine guns and my mother, nor I could understand what was going on or hear them as they expected you to know where your feet needed to be. They spent more time speaking to each other in a foreign language and appeared to be laughing at the shape of my mom's arthritic feet. Did I mention she is 90?????? I gave a two because the end result was nice. The experience was minus one. The ultimate slap was the way my mom's techinician ordered her around when she was trying to check out at this stupid terminal, while getting shoved around by people trying to get around her or waiting to "check out!" What a stupid system. Again, an EXTREMELY impersonal experience. We are not going back. Just a side note.... the employees look miserable!!! read more

Very disappointed today. I got my nails done on Friday and my nail ended up getting chipped. I went in Sunday and there was no one available to fix it. I came back in today Tuesday and a different girl fixed my nail. We go to the front and the guy at the front desk tells her it's up to her if she wants to charge me and that they can go up to 5 days without charging to fix a nail. This girl comes up with some BS excuse to have me pay for one nail that she didn't even do a great job on and then asks if I have cash to pay... no I have card and you will not be receiving a tip. I also love how organized they are with getting customers checked in for a service and assigning them a person to service their needs. NEVER AGAIN! A year ago, i got the worst manicure/ acrylic nails from them while visiting during my yearly 3 month visit to Florida. It is a beautiful place with a very nice ambiance. That is where it ends That time. A year ago, i went home after the rudest tech hurried through the experience and did the sloppiest job.I said I would never go back but did a year later because no one is perfect and I always try to be fair in my thinking. Last Monday, I went in for a manicure/ pedicure . I was seen by Peter. He as nice enough and he took his time . One week later...the corners are lifting on two nails already. I call and explain and before I get an I am sorry. I hear what I already know. They have a three day policy for repairs. No care, concern was shown to me . I am very disappointed with the service at the Ocala SW location. I set a firm appt for today at 2p and arrived on time. I was advised to be seated by the hostess. Today I had Kim give me a $43 pedicure. It was fantastic, Kim was friendly and full of smiles. My only complaint was her paint job. After leaving, I was able to see my toes in the day light and she didn't do the greatest job painting. If I have time tomorrow I will ask them to re-paint them. If not, oh well. Nice atmosphere. They only take cash tips (which would have been good to know). Clean tools and relaxing atmosphere. But the chairs are not passed very well, so the massager is quite intense. Enjoy. read more

Desperate for a massage due to severe lower-back pre-natal pain, I called Azulene. They are right outside my apartment complex in Market Square, and I knew they would be open on a Saturday. I called at 1015 am and asked for a pre-natal appointment. I was offered an appointment at 11:00 am. I was taken back at about 11:15 am for my 60 minute ($85.00) pre-natal massage. My disappointments would be: a) the massage room was small and b) there are pedicure seats right outside the room (which means that I heard a group's entire conversation all through my massage). My masseuse was well knowledgeable and did an excellent job, which is the most important part. I left my massage feeling much better, and was able to sit down an eat lunch without being on the edge of tears in pain. So, the massage did it's job! It seems the Day Spa is more centered around pedicures and manicures than being a full day spa, but I have no real complaints (just those who nit-picky areas mentioned above). I would certainly return (and most likely will before my due date) due to the convenient hours and location. The staff was all very friendly as well. read more

I usually get my pink & white dip done from the same guy and he does great. Last time I went I couldn't get him so I said I'll just get gel on my fingers and regular polish on my pedicure. They assured me they had someone good and to get the dip. Not only did she pressure me into gel polish on my toes that I DID NOT want (she wouldn't stop going on about it and did it anyways), but my dip cracked off on 4 different finger nails in the first week. When I called they basically said it's to bad and I can come pay to have it taken off, and said ok when I said I'll find somewhere else if I can't even come in to get it taken off. I live in NY and came here on the recommendation of my niece, who mentioned she wasn't coming because she didn't have the money, to which I replied I would pay for her but she still declined. Well boy am I glad she declined. I had no idea, and now I know why she spoke about affording a pedicure, is that this place is a complete rip-off. The pedicure was about $60 and they force you to get gel. If you don't agree to gel, they basically harrass you the whole time until you agree with getting gel polish. So I chose the second level pedicure, I forgot what the name of it was, but in NY they offer 1 pedicure for 1 price and you get the works. Well here everything is al-a-carte. My sister came with me and she had gel polish on from a previous pedicure and they told her that she had to pay an additional $5 to remove the old polish (on top of her very expensive pedicure). So I said to myself, ok this is a fancy looking place, maybe this will be a special pedicure unlike what I get in NY for $28. Not even close. The chairs were exactly the same as we have in NY, the technician removed my old polish and then immediately prepped my toes for the gel. I asked if he was going to exfoliate my skin and he said yes, after he puts the polish on. I said ok, let me trust his process. So he paints my nails, then proceeds to pretend he is exfoliating my skin. Usually they do the bottom, sides and even tips of toes. He didn't go anywhere near my toes. I would expect to leave a $60 pedicure with smooth feet. So then comes the "massage" which was basically non-existent, and there was no exfoliating scrub lotion used. This would have been an extra cost, again, in NY for half the price this is included. The pedicure was done, and I left very underwhelmed. BTW I also paid an extra $5 for french design, and he did my lines all uneven and crooked, looks like a kid did it. But wait... there's more! So I brought my 13 year old daughter with me too, which I usually do back home, and she got a basic manicure. She is a good girl and money conscious and she knows we just get regular polish and not usually gel. She was in a different room than my sister and I since we were in the pedicure room. She asked the technician if they had regular polish and he told her no, they ONLY have gel for manicures. Unbelievable. The upselling in this place is pathetic. So in total, for my daughters gel manicure and my gel french pedicure, no massage, no scrub on my calves, came out to $92 without tip. I was so disgusted. By all means, I am willing to pay for excellent service and treatment, and I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt hoping the prices matched the experience, and I left feeling ripped off with crooked lines on my feet. I do not recommend this place for manicures and pedicures because there is no value and I do not enjoy paying for the decor of places, it is a nice place, but I could care less about their multiple TV screens around with pictures of fish on them, or their station they use to ring you up which I'm sure cost a lot too. My mother and I visited Azulene Day Spa today for what I wanted to be a nice mani-pedi spa day. I am not in town often and wanted her to have a positive experience. What we received instead was delayed service, sub-par pedicures, and NO manicures (only poorly done acrylic nails). To be clear, we requested manicures at the door and picked the type we wanted while our pedicures were getting done, yet still did not receive the service we asked for. Instead, I was discouraged from getting a manicure by a technician who commented that "the manicure costs extra and would be expensive." I am choosing not to be offended by what her tone implied. Further, I don't think that it is rare to have two people walk into a spa and ask to get served together. Rather than this typical experience, my mother's pedicure started a full 20 minutes before mine. I was left, with my feet soaking in lukewarm water, as the staff looked confusedly among each other trying to sort out who would work on my pedicure. There were staff members available at the time, yet I was still left to wait. Seeing some of the positive reviews listed here, I am shocked by the complete difference in the quality of treatment. I never thought that asking for a "mani-pedi" was out of the ordinary or easy to misunderstand. Clearly, I was wrong. Beyond this though, I am angry and disappointed that my mother's birthday treat was ruined. I will never be returning to this spa again, and I strongly encourage others to look for alternative options. read more

The prices were high which I was semi ok with because I don't know the typical price point for these services in this area. I observed quite a bit of mediocre service. They charge for a glass of bottom shelf wine - I'm used to places offering a glass for no upcharge. My experience wasn't great at all. Very limited selection on the gel polish and the massage was anti - climactic. I'd never return and pretty much feel like I wasted my money today. read more
