I have been here before so in know the food is good. Very dark inside. We went for a late lunch and were promptly seated. Chen was our Teppan chef. He did a nice show and prep our food the way we wanted. I like my filet mignon cut in small pieces and well done. He even cooked the veggies more for me as I like them cooked more as well. I am crazy for ginger sauce and he refilled it for me a few times. The kids enjoyed their fried rice, shrimp and teriyaki chicken. The other adult also had filet mignon plus shrimp. She had California roll, and we sheared gouza and edamame with salt. The waitress was good in refilling our drinks and brought out our miso soup promptly. We have been here before and have not been disappointed. Chen did the onion volcano to the kids delight too. I recommend this Teppan and sushi place.

At the first experience, the staff who came to take our order seemed to be rude too. Not a very pleasant welcome. Also, after the order, we were seated for almost 30 minutes before the chef arrived to cook our meal. Fun place to try live cooking teppanyaki style, however not the best food. One of our friends got sick too after reaching back home, not sure if that was from the food but she swears not to go here again. The restaurant is huge with plenty of seating and nice decor but they seem to be short-staffed at least in the chef head count. But the restrooms were too dirty. My wife says even the women one too. Priced is reasonable but not the best experience we had.

It's been at least a good 8 to 9 years since I last recall coming to this restaurant. I hadn't eaten all day and let me tell you I was hungry! Unfortunately since I was by myself I couldn't go to Takumi which is much closer to me. Why? They don't offer the Teppan meals on their dining side only at the side with the grills. Unfortunately they won't serve you at the Teppan grill by yourself and you'll end up waiting for a small group of other people to come in to be seated with them. Luckily there's a few places in town, this one included that serves the same delicious Teppan meals in their dinning area! So if you go alone you can still get the same great food! Plus they also offer sushi! The staff is very welcoming and friendly. Place was fairly clean. Walking in let me tell you I was starving! My server brought me some Miso Soup right away and she even took the time to explain some new items on the menu. I was salivating as I read every line on the menu. I started off with an appetizer of Egg Rolls. I was so hungry I ended up also ordering a roll of Philadelphia Sushi Rolls. I admit I'm basically a simp when it comes to sushi. I'm not all about the fancy sauces and spices. I'm just about the basics fresh fish, fresh rice, add some cream cheese oh boy! Yum! For the main course I stool with the usual, Filet Mignon Teppan dinner! I asked for some Teriyaki Sauce to dip it in! They did not disappoint! The plate had vegetables, noodles, fried rice, and of course the filet mignon! The noodles were perfectly cooked, subtle flavored. The rice had more delicious vegetables also subtle yet satisfying flavor. The vegetables were soft and delicious! The main even of course the filet! It was cooked just as I requested combined with the teriyaki, it was so satisfying! Toward the end I found my eyes getting bigger than my stomach. I like a challenge so I carried on and left nothing on my plate! I usually just get egg rolls and my dinner at these places but I was so hungry. I left so satisfied and full! My server she was excellent. She kept checking up on me, made sure my glass was always full, and made sure I was happy. She was a amazing! I'll definitely be back because of her! Also my compliments to the chefs! Excellent meal!

A friend was passing through town and we wanted sushi. My favorite spot, Pacific Paradise was closed for some reason, so we came here. I'd been here several times before the Rona, but not since. I'm sad. This used to be awesome and now? Meh. We got 4 rolls - a salmon roll, a New Orleans roll, a Tiger Tear roll and a crunchy shrimp roll. It was all just.... okay. And cost about twice of my favorite place. They even charged for extra eel sauce and extra wasabi. I don't think I'll return.

First off. Service was great! However the food was not so great. It was pretty awful. We ordered the filet mignon and it was so bad. Low grade stake is what we got. So chewy and full of fat. When the owner asked us what's wrong with stake she said it's shamrock food fault. They sold her the meat. We have ordered this meal many times in the past and it was fabulous. Sorry to say we won't be eating here anymore. Plus I don't think at 25% capacity any table should be seated next to you during Covid restrictions!

Is there a sushi place in Albuquerque that is 1price all you can eat?

Not that I'm aware of. I wish there was! The only places that kind of have that are Chinese buffets, but the quality is not that good.

It is not the biggest restaurant, and is popular, so I would recommend being prepared to wait during "popular busy time" but it is so worth the wait. So I also recommend waiting. The staff is always pretty friendly and accommodating. I shared an app, a roll and an order of salmon sashimi with a friend on both visits. The food is always fresh, and delicious! I never feel like I am being overcharged for what I get either. Going to eat for sushi can feel like that sometimes. The quality of the food is great and everything is always aesthetically pleasing as well. I had their avocado bomb on my last visit and I was delightfully surprised with it. I like avocado in most cases, but sometimes, it can be a lot at one. I thought this was going to be like that when I saw it, but I was wrong. I look forward to getting one of these on my next visit! On my last visit my friend and I saved room for a dessert, one that we saw rotating on their screens that they have in the restaurant showcasing some of the menu items. It was a take on a bananas foster. It looked delicious but alas, we'll see if we can manage to get it next time. Note to self, have dessert first on next visit?

That's why Sakura Sushi & Grill stood out right away. They clearly label gluten-free options on the menu. They also offer gluten-free soy sauce, which is a huge win. Even better, they have lunch specials with gluten-free options, which is rare. It's located in Riverside Plaza in Albuquerque, just past the river on the west side. I ordered the Sushi Lunch A with premium fish and chose the double salmon roll. Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious, and the portions were great for the price. The miso soup that comes with lunch isn't gluten-free, but they brought me a side salad with an amazing gluten-free dressing instead. I felt confident eating here, which is not something I say often. I didn't have any reaction afterward and would absolutely eat here again. One of the coolest surprises: they make their own wasabi in-house. It's not on the menu, but if you ask, they'll bring it out, and it is absolutely worth it. We considered getting a sushi boat, but the lunch specials were a better value for lunch. If we went for dinner, we would absolutely order a boat. I also had hot sake, which paired perfectly with the meal. At the end, they even brought us a sweet cinnamon tea for my friend's birthday, even though we didn't order dessert. Service was warm and attentive the entire time. My friend has a shellfish allergy, and the server made sure her plate only included fin fish, which we really appreciated. We went around 1:30 p.m. on a Tuesday, and it was quiet with only a few other tables. The atmosphere felt calm and relaxed, with a casual, comfortable vibe that made it easy to sit and actually enjoy a conversation without feeling rushed. They close at 3 and reopen for dinner, so it's a great low-key lunch spot if you time it right. My friend also mentioned she brings her young kids here often, and the woman manager or owner is especially kind and welcoming to them. I enjoyed this place so much that I called my husband on the way home to tell him all about it. We're already planning to go back with our kids, which will make this my second visit in one week. If you're gluten-free, this place is a gem. And even if you're not, the quality, service, and overall experience make it absolutely worth a visit.

We ordered 2 orders of Chicken Katsu appetizers, 6 Piece Gyoza, Kastu Donburi, & Beef Nagomi Ramen. For the chicken katsu appetizers we asked if it came with rice which we wanted them to, and the lady said they did. It was disappointing upon arrival at home and there was no rice included. We had to cook rice at home instead. The katsu pieces were crispy and the little one liked it, so that was good. Not a fan of the sauce it came with, though. 6 pc gyoza was good. We liked the sauce it came with as it was flavorful. Would reorder in the future. Katsu Donburi bowl was good. Would recommend and portion was just right. Nagomi Ramen - we asked for beef, but it looked like it was pork instead. It was pretty bland, which was disappointing. So maybe will get it spicy next time if we order again. Great portion size.
