was awesome. I forgot to take a picture of the eel and ikura. I took a picture of my spicy salmon tuna roll at intervals after biting it just to show how full of yumminess it was. It was substantial. They're not great pictures I drop my phone a lot. Not flies I forgot something else my roommate felt there wasn't enough rice. He was in a little small round container like when you go to a deli. That being said all the containers were well made and sturdy. That is very important because if the containers are not well made sauces leak and things can spill. None of that happened because the containers were well made. I could have sworn I took a picture of like everything all together but my phone hates me.

I've heard nothing but good things from friends that have been to Azuma Sushi. I couldn't wait to check it out myself, as I am a big fan of sushi. I was pleasantly surprised, walking in a few minutes after they opened. Already I could see diners well situated and ordering lunch. The establishment is surprisingly spacious and very clean. The decor is easy on the eyes and quite pleasing. As you enter, there's an expansive bar area and then lots of intimate booth and table seating. I was seated by the window and had ample time to look over the menu. They serve sushi, as well as cooked foods. Also hibachi, so lots to choose from.

This is best Japanese/sushi place I've eaten since being in Saratoga Springs. Everything I ate here was good and staff is really friendly. I started with the avocado salad which was yummy and quite larger then I expected it to be but I was happy about that. The shrimp tempura appetizer was also a lot larger then expected and almost made me full before my sushi came out. Only thing was they needed a bigger sauce dish for the tempura sauce.

Well. This place is fun! We had a really good dinner here last night. The ambiance is wonderful. There's a standard hibachi type seating for large groups. There's a dining area for general dining. There's a regular bar type setup, and there is a traditional sushi bar type seating areas. My daughter ordered sushi of various types. All were fresh and delicious. I ordered a stir fry scallop dish. Quite nice. I enjoyed my dish. We had a few drinks at dinner. My daughter really enjoyed her Sake. Service was great. Several people were looking after our table. Without a doubt we will be coming back here. We are from Northern Virginia, and are spoiled with the best Asian cuisines. This restaurant does a great job in our opinion. They offer Japanese, Chinese and Thai dishes. There's something for everyone here.

As I looked for a restaurant selling sushi on a Sunday night between Clifton Park and Saratoga I recalled one that we hadn't been to on Route 9 in Malta. But would they be open? Yes, their website said they were open until 9:30 P.M. That surprised me a little since many restaurants close earlier on Sunday. My next surprise was how many people were present at Azuma when we arrived near 6:30 P.M. They have three teppanyaki cooking tables, a sushi bar with a half dozen or so seats, a regular bar with maybe ten seats, an aquarium surrounded by about a dozen seats, booths and tables for up to four people, and several high tops for parties of two. We were offered a choice of seating at the sushi bar, the regular bar, the aquarium, or a high top. Otherwise, there would be a wait for a regular table or the teppan tables if we were looking for a Hibachi dinner and show. We chose a high top in the bar area where the noise emanating from the hibachi tables was less distracting. Their menu is huge and even includes some Thai dishes. Five of the ten pages are devoted to various sushi rolls, nigiri, and entrées. A separate two page drink menu offers wine, beer, sake, and cocktails. My wife started with a Pomegranate Marini ($13) which she found on the sweet side and concluded she would not likely order it again. I decided to try a beer from Unified Brewing ($6) which is located just down the road from Azuma. The mystery was not knowing what style of beer I would receive since the menu gave no indication. It turned out to be a New England IPA, All the Juicy Things. It was quite good, and I normally don't care for IPA. It was really a difficult decision trying to decide among all the sushi offerings. We settled on starting with bowls of Miso Soup ($2.25), followed by Yellowtail nigiri ($6.50), White Tuna nigiri ($6.50), Red Snapper nigiri ($6), Oshinko Roll ($5.50), Sakura Roll ($16), and Kiss On Fire Roll ($17). Btw, there are two pieces in each serving of nigiri. All the fish was very fresh. The wasabi was especially spicy, and the gari had a good, pickled characteristic. The Oshinko was crunchy and the combination of flavors and textures in both the Sakura roll and Kiss On Fire roll were very pleasing. Service was prompt, friendly, and efficient. We definitely need to return and try more of their unique specialty rolls. My only nitpick would be that they don't make their nigiri with wasabi between the fish and rice ball.

We had such an excellent experience here on Friday July 4th, a lot of local spots were closed for the holiday but so glad they were open and we were seated immediately. We ordered sushi, so we can't speak to the other parts of the menu but what we ordered was super fresh and prepared perfectly. We did a spicy maki combo meal and one of the speciality rolls - Crazy Tuna. Both highly recommended! We also shared some house sake which was a nice refreshing addition to our meal, looks like they have a full bar. The atmosphere was nice for a date night, but also looked perfect for groups and the hibachi area sounded like they were having a blast!

They gave me the worse food poisoning of my life; ate on evening of 12/20 Stay seay from this unhealthy dump. Contacting the Health Department AND if they do not refund my tab -- Im not paying for some scoundrel to not wash his hands after using the restroom - I'm going to picket outside the restaurant warning people about this germ farm. Went for the first time with my granddaughter and her boyfriend who love sushi. It's not something I'm crazy about, but it was good. We started with potstickers which were very tasty. We were then served miso soup and a small salad, again good. I decided on a box lunch consisting of General Tso's chicken, white rice, 4 pieces of California rolls and 3 shrimp shumai. All was very good! Our service was excellent, the waitress was very cordial and helpful. The venue was very friendly and clean, nicely decorated.

I called to put the order in and asked if they can put the menu in and the guy told me they're at the front desk when I get there. I'm not picking up the food friend is and they won't grab a menu because they never grab a menu so I was kind of annoyed. I put my order in. General Tso chicken for the friend and I always get a spicy tuna a hand roll with aslice of avocado, sushi eel and Sushi Ikura(salmon roe) . It was heaven. It was also heavenly. The roommate let me have a bite of the General Tso chicken it looked and tasted so juicy and fresh and it was white meat. I normally like dark meat. It was coated well it had a lovely sweet flavor but not too sweet. My spicy spicy tuna hand roll it was flavored so perfectly not too spicy with the right crunch and the perfect flavor of tuna and avocado and it was just stuffed perfectly in very generously. I've been feeling dissatisfied from some of the places I've been ordering my eel and ikura from but these were heavenly everything tasted perfect. Everything tasted great with just the right sauces and just the right flavors and large pieces of eel and can generous with the the ikura. My friend reminded me we had to order there a long time ago but my memory is bad all I know is I'm remembering to order from there again. I didn't go inside so I do not know what it looks like but no one's had any complaints. I forgot we ordered crab rangoons. I order weekly from Azuma and visit all the owners restaurants often. Azuma has been a staple in Malta as the best sushi around. Last week my tuna did not hold up to the standard normally served. Today I ordered 2 tuna rolls in my order and one looks bright red and vibrant as it should and always has in the past. The middle tuna roll is grayish with an off smell. How do they serve the same rolls looking like this. Azuma has fallen back on quality and I'm officially done ordering and dining in

Really bummed about this place. I saw Azuma on the front page of Clippers Magazine, offering a free birthday meal: Attached to this review is a picture of said ad - which I've been holding onto since receiving the magazine because I wanted to go on my birthday.as you can see, there's no terms and conditions listed in the ad. My boyfriend and I show up, magazine and ID in-hand, I'm ready to have my birthday dinner. The hostess looked confused, and handed me a card from the table that stated their birthday promo was for parties of 4+. Now I understand a business has to make money, but I'm upset with the false advertising (I work in advertising too, so slightly more ticked). They wanted me to simply say "oh well I guess I'm here now l, I may as well stay and eat." Well, I had explained to the hostess that there was nothing mentioned in the ad, and even after being denied once again, we ultimately decided to drive back to Saratoga and take our business elsewhere to another Hibachi spot, Kinjo. It didn't matter the amount we spent, I will never recommend a business that lures customers in that way (especially hungry ones on their birthday!) read more

Food is okay. Had lunch on Friday and ordered the Godzilla roll and was served the Dragon Roll ( not on the menu). When I disagreed with "Bill" he told me I ordered the dragon roll. I was told I was wrong. Not to cause an issue I just ate the dragon roll. I'll never go back and I'll tell everyone about the poor customer service. Never once did "Bill" offer to make it right. This is probably some of the best hibachi you've ever had. The cooking was not rushed and chef added lots of stuff to make it flavorful, the size of the portions were unbelievable for the prices. Great selection of beverages. Hands done one the cleanest places we've ever eaten hibachi. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This is our first trip we will be back!!!! So glad we tried this place! The food came within the 15 minute delivery window as I requested on the Mealeo app & it was hot. Great selection of hibachi, sushi, Thai & Chinese food on the menu. Good presentation (even in delivery containers!) and the food was well-seasoned. I got the hibachi steak & chicken combination and my boyfriend got the maki combo 1. We also got crab rangoon & pan-seared potstickers, which were right on the money. The clear soup that came with my hibachi was really good, too! We'll definitely be back & look forward to dining at the restaurant. It was also my first experience with Mealeo delivery and that was great! The driver was super friendly & on time. My family had a wonderful experience. My 6-year-old son who is autistic was getting a little overwhelmed at the beginning of dinner. The staff was very kind to him and went out of their way to help make him more comfortable. (For instance, they brought him some plain rice immediately when he didn't want to eat the food from the table). This was a busy Friday night so it was impressive that they were still so attentive. We decided to give this place a try and were we pleasantly surprised. The fish is very fresh and the dishes are exquisite in flavor. We've only ever gotten take out from this restaurant because they are so close to where we live. I am a very picky eater and they always accommodate my order when I ask to remove things. The hibachi chicken is incredible. It is a bit pricey so we tend ti order lunch specials, but it is definitely a treat to have on occasion. Was staying overnight far from home in Malta and this was the easiest place to order from. I am gluten-free and didn't know what to order or how to order it online, so I called and a nice man helped me find something to eat, and then stayed on the phone with me until the online order went through and he brought it back to the chef to tell him to make it GF. We went once before and it was good, besides a few things, but overall we had a good time. Today, we sat down our family of 5 hoping to all get lunch for $15-17 instead of the dinner for $30-40. They came out and gave us our waters, they than went to take our order and after done, she went to the kitchen to put in our orders. Unexpectedly, she came back and told us they were not serving lunch, when we asked why, her only response was "were not doing lunch". As we were leaving we thought and realized there were not any signs saying they were not serving lunch leading us to believe they were trying to make extra money, leading to a larger tip. The restaurant was empty and we would assume this was why. While we walked out they had a chance to honor the lunch menu which would have gotten them an easy $150 but instead made none. Safe to say I'm completely dissatisfied. The overall setting of the place looked nice but they need to work on their customer service. read more

What a fun hibachi experience for the family! The vegetables, steak and seafood were all fresh, cooked nicely and well seasoned. Everyone loved the entertainment as well. My dad and I stopped in to grab food to go on lunch. Ordered a triple delight box special and he got 3 rolls for $12. It was delicious!! And there was tons of food in the bento box. Unfortunately it took about 35-40 min for the food to come out. I'll probably order again because I work nearby and the food was really good. But I'll be sure to call in ahead of time. read more

Which is notable since it's costly. How costly you say? Well, my lunch set me back $70 which - for a cocktail, appetizer and one sushi roll - is high. Very high. The pricing cost them 1/2 a point in my review. The ambiance is more nightclub than Asian restaurant. Rather dark but not in a bad way. Modern Japanese? Maybe. Just not the 'feel' I expected on a Friday afternoon. I was warmly welcomed. I think the staff might upgrade their attire to complement their fine dining prices. Just sayin'. As previously mentioned, Omakase's prices are high. Think Upscale NYC which - as my hubs pointed out when I shared my luncheon experience with him - seems to be the direction that much of Saratoga Springs's downtown is going. For example, their Tom Yum Soup, which is offered in most Japanese restaurants, at $15.60 is twice what you would pay elsewhere locally. My Tuna Tartare was elegantly presented. It was similar to other sushi places I've been to except that the tuna was mushy instead of small pieces stop the mashed avocado. I did not find this especially appealing. What really set this dish apart from other Japanese places where I have eaten it was the crunch bits on top, the accompanying wasabi chips and sprinkling of micro greens. Nice touch but not worth $24 which is about double what I have paid at other dining establishments. A review of the menu shows that sushi prices are twice the cost of other Japanese places in town. I ordered what I will call their Signature Roll (not its real name) at $24. I tried to tie my leftovers to their menu without success. Was it good? Yes. The crunch bit on top were different. Was it worth the hefty roll price tag? Hmmm ... not sure. Service was attentive, 5 stars. If you are looking for a new take on sushi and have deep pockets, then definitely give Omakase a try. The menu has many chef reactions that you will not find elsewhere. And because I am a sushi aficionado and love creativity in dining, I will return to experience other interesting items on the menu. The chef's creative approach to sushi gets 5 stars. Keep in mind that street parking can be a challenge (as it was for the former 30 Lake). I give Omakase 4-1/2 stars.

Azumas reviews have been amazing, with the exception of a few people who people who have way too much time on their hands. Our experience has always been nothing but exceptional. A new business working tieless hours to make their customers happy and it sure is working. Every time we go in we are treated like family and feel so welcomed and comfortable.
