Absolutely loved this spot. The mala broth was super spicy and the tom yum was so unique, I never had Thai flavors at a hot pot place. The unlimited menu is huge and everything I had on it was great, the brisket, veggies, side dishes like fried chicken. Oh and don't skip tha beef fat rice. I left very full and satisfied.

I really enjoyed eating dinner here! I thought that the cost of the all you can eat option was super fair. The quality of the meat was really good, and I also loved the many different types of mushrooms I could boil! Plus, the egg was delightful. I liked soft boiling the egg and then dipping meat in the yolk. The shrimp tempura was also fantastic. I don't think it was tempura, per se, but it was some of the best fried shrimp I've had in recent memory; I don't actually care about the improper nomenclature. Service was good and I liked the murals on the walls! Next time I come here, I hope the soft serve ice cream machine is working again.

Excellent restaurant. Good service, good food. It's been a year since I discovered hot pot and I'm always happy to find a new place that I can go to. It seems to be one of my favorite types of restaurants now. We recently discovered Azure Hot Pot. It was packed full of people, they asked us if we had a reservation, which we did not, but they found a spot for us. So take that into consideration if you want to try it, you might want to call and book a table. I had never ordered all you can eat style before this. I thought it was a decent price to pay for all you can eat. And I'm definitely looking forward to going back. The food was delicious.

Loved the atmosphere. Artwork on the wall was fun. Was seated quickly. All you can eat hot pot? Yes please! Been a hot minute since we did hot pot, so it hit the spot. Will be back!

Good experience nothing fancy but their births are delicious. Tom young soup is a mild spicy but so flavorful. Great variety of meats and must try the mushroom variety. Less than $45/persom They have beer and sake too.

Very welcoming interior, & friendly wait staff. The sukiyaki and mala broths were tasty. The cuttlefish was a unique menu item I haven't had before. We ended up having 4 kurabata pork, because they were just that good. The pitcher of singha was also a pleasant surprise.

All you can eat hot pot with various prices for kids, adults, seniors which is cool and a nice aspect. Meat was really good but very very thin. But because it was ayce it wasn't a huge issue. Ayce also comes with a scoop of ice cream for dessert which was a good touch! They also make it easy to order more food by scanning a QR code at the table instead of waiting for the servers to come

Excited to find this Thai/ Japanese hot pot on Shattuck so we decided to give it a try. Clean, college vibes for interior, they were not busy so we got seated right the way. It's AYCE with a few selections.for broth. We decided to try the Tom Yum and Miso. Both broths and the 3 dipping sauces were flavorful. For the AYCE we feel the portion they brought out were very small. The ingredients were fresh enough but perhaps the portion were served on tiny plates that made it feel a bit budgetted. They checked in often enough to see if we would need anything else but for the price and how little everything was we didn't find the value in it. Also the side dishes were not good very school cafeteria like, the smallest dingy bowl.of fried rice, dry pot sticker, I can barely finished one tiny tempura shrimp...so I get the little bite side serving, since you can't finish them anyway...lol Btw a small cup of hot tea with a tea bag is $3. You could ask for more hot water but perhaps a pot with the same one tea bag is better...I have mix feeling about it, since there aren't too many Thai and Japanese hot pot in one location we may come back to eat but still feel that it is not worth the price. The convenience and.comfort.of a buffet, self service even for the veggies should be a bit better. So service 4 star Food more like 3.5 Ambience 3.5 Overall 3.5 got an extra half star for the broths ( I could taste MSG but not over powering but that's what brings the umami flavors a quick and cheap fix to a soup base)

Food was pretty average. We wished there was a sauce bar, they have three pre made that they serve you. They were also out of many appetizers that they said were included in the price. Ice cream was good!

Delicious hot pot spot! Definitely needs more love! Unlimited meats, sides and soft serve for a great price. Me and the wifey enjoyed our meat with some sukiyaki and miso soup bases and our favorite meats were the lamb and beef belly. The beef fat fried rice is a MUST try. Def will be back! Curtis our server was awesome!

Japanese sukiyaki broth (7/10) I like their Thai dipping sauces (7.5/10) Definitely try their dipping sauce !

Great little neighborhood Thai style hot pot. Expect chill vibes, attentive servers, and quality ingredients. Naturally, don't compare this place to places that do a la carte but within the AYCE family? Pretty damn good. Oh! And unlimited soft serve ice cream!

===TL;DR=== - AYCE MEAT only (from my experience) - Tom yum and Mala spicy soup - Street parking ===TMI=== The moment you walk in, you're immediately greeted with their primary color space. Couldn't tell if they're not popping off yet or it's cause we came on a Sunday evening. The server was very sweet and nice. Good meat quality, on the thinner side. Broth used were also tasty. The server was very attentive whenever our meat was running low. Didn't notice there was a time limit so that's always a plus for those with bigger appetites. Don't let the thin slices fool you cause before you know it, your belly gets filled to the brim! The highlight was their sauces! Personally the Thai one was my favorite so don't be shy to ask for a refill when you're running low! Although they were AYCE, we're not sure why we got charged for extra udons.. -shrug-. The menu state "All Hotpot We serve with Vegatables and Noodle" but they also have an add on vegetable menu so I'm assuming you don't get free refills... and ONLY the meats were AYCE. Right when you thought your battle is coming to an end, they remind you that there are still soft serves to end the meal! Yes, soft serves, not ice cream. Thai tea and vanilla. They don't have an elaborate menu but have all the shabu staples. Give them a go if you're a shabu fan!

They even offered to take birthday pictures for us and brought out a complimentary birthday dessert, which was such a thoughtful touch! The food was really good. My son ordered the chicken strips and fries from the kids' menu, and I could immediately tell the chicken was homemade. The batter tasted fresh, the chicken was hot and crispy. I ordered the Chicken Club and substituted the fries for a side salad. The salad was actually a really good portion for a side and had several different vegetables, which made it much better than your typical little side salad. I personally wasn't a fan of the vinegar dressing, but that's just my preference. The Chicken Club, however, was AMAZING! It had a great amount of meat, bacon, fresh avocado, and perfectly toasted multigrain bread. That bread was actually one of my favorite parts! The sandwich was fresh, filling, and full of flavor. Definitely something I'd order again. My grandparents really enjoyed their omelette and Crab Benedict, and they loved their meals. My husband also got the Crab Benedict and really enjoyed it. It's more like a crab patty with the poached egg and Benedict toppings on top, and he said it was flavorful and very good. For drinks, some of us had mimosas while the others tried the Dragon Fizz mocktail. We actually heard the name and ordered it and didn't even realize it said mocktail, however, we were still really impressed! The Dragon Fizz was SO good! It was different, refreshing, and definitely something I'd order again if I didn't want to drink and it was just as pretty as a mimosa so we could do some videos The ambience was really nice, and being right next to the water made it even better. The only thing I didn't really appreciate was the extremely long wait for the mimosas. We completely understood that it had just opened and it was a very busy Sunday brunch, but my husband ordered one and it was forgotten. By the time we reminded our server, it was quite awhile wait. Then when we had already finished our food, gotten boxes, ordered dessert, received the birthday dessert, sang happy birthday to my grandma, shared the dessert, finished dessert, and were getting ready for the check. That's when the mimosas finally arrived! It was especially frustrating because we actually wanted to continue ordering mimosas for the table for celebration, and the half of us who got mocktails decided to take part in the mimosas but after the long wait we just decided not to, so the long wait definitely put a damper on that part of the experience. Other than the mimosa wait, we had a really good overall experience. The food was good, the staff was friendly, the atmosphere was beautiful, and most importantly, we got to celebrate my grandma's birthday somewhere that already holds special memories for my grandparents.

I say this as I observed the dirty, matted down carpet on the way to the restrooms. Overall, we had a great time celebrating our anniversary at this outstanding restaurant that we haven't visited in about eight years.

On the plus side, they offer a senior discount, and you pay after your meal, which is convenient. The food selection was okay. I wish they had more variety, but there was a decent amount of seafood and meat options available. They also had four different soups to choose from, which was a nice surprise. Unfortunately, the crab was disappointing. It was very hard to crack open and had very little meat inside, so it wasn't worth the effort. The rest of the food was decent, though nothing particularly stood out. It's not the best buffet I've been to, but it's not bad either. I think the restaurant could really benefit from refreshing the menu and updating the overall appearance of the space. With a few improvements, it could make a strong comeback in the buffet scene. If you decide to visit, I'd recommend going during lunch. The price is lower and offers much better value for what you get.

It's actually a popular, higher-end Chinese restaurant in downtown Berkeley, and judging by the number of people waiting to be seated on a weekend only 30 minutes after opening, it clearly does very well. One note: I often see long weekend lines forming even before opening, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation or arriving early. We came here with one thing in mind: Peking duck. It was prepared beautifully, with the exact nostalgic flavor and crispy skin I was hoping for. I also loved the way they presented the thin pancakes--half-folded and slightly overlapping each other--so you didn't have to worry about peeling each layer apart and accidentally ripping them. The dipping sauce and green onions were provided on the side, though I do wish they included thinly sliced cucumber to complete the experience. My husband also ordered the fish, which turned out soft, delicate, and delicious. It was a nice complement to the duck and rounded out the meal really well. My only real critique of Great China is the pricing. You're definitely paying a premium here, but the food does taste authentic and well-executed. Given the limited competition in the area, I can see why it feels justifiable if you live nearby. That said, it may not be as worth the splurge for people who already have easy access to more traditional, old-school Chinese restaurants.
