Lunch menu as of Jan 2025

I went back to AZURE at the Intercontinental Hotel yesterday to try their new menu, and while the food was solid, the service was what really stood out. Both the manager, Lowell Neill, and our server, Johnny, went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. I ordered the Tourtierancini with a side of Caesar salad, and my colleagues got the Whiskey BBQ Bison Sando and the Azure Power Bowl. The Tourtierancini came out in a mini skillet with three crispy arancini and some raw watercress on top. The arancini had a nice crunch, and the filling, inspired by tourtiere, had a mild meaty flavor. I thought it could've been seasoned a bit more, but the blueberry jus on the side was a great touch--it added just the right amount of tartness and sweetness to balance the dish. That watercress, though, felt a bit random; arugula would've probably worked better. The Caesar salad was where things got a little interesting. I'd ordered it as a side, but they brought out a full-sized portion instead. I didn't think much of it at first, but when I asked Johnny about the size, he explained there'd been a mix-up with my order. He immediately let the manager know, and that's when Lowell came over to personally apologize. Lowell didn't just fix the issue--he went the extra mile. He told me I could take the salad home (after checking with the kitchen) and then offered complimentary desserts for the table as an apology. He even said, "If you want to try the mousse too, why not?" I mean, how could I say no to that? My colleagues both went with the Chocolate Mousse to-go, and even though I'd already ordered the Sugar Tart, I added the Mango Passionfruit Mousse to the mix. The desserts were a highlight! The Sugar Tart was buttery and just sweet enough, while the Mango Passionfruit Mousse was light, tropical, and refreshing. My colleagues said the Chocolate Mousse was rich and indulgent--definitely a win. As for the mains, the Whiskey BBQ Bison Sando was bold and smoky, and the Azure Power Bowl was fresh and light, perfect for someone looking for a healthier option. The ambiance was as nice as I remembered--calm and modern, with great lighting for photos. While the food is a bit pricey for what you get, the way Lowell and Johnny handled everything made all the difference. Their level of care and attention really stood out and turned what could've been a small hiccup into a great experience. If you're near the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and want a classy spot with amazing service, give AZURE a try!

Hands down, some of the best lobster poutine I've ever had! Perfectly balanced with just the right amount of gravy, so it stayed crispy. The lychee martini was made to perfection, too! Located inside the Intercontinental Hotel in downtown--definitely recommend making a reservation during busy times. The shrimp salad was fresh and crisp as well!

Typical hotel lobby food (Azure is located in the lobby of the Intercontinental). I ordered the roasted salmon which came with mushrooms, fingerling potatoes and broccolini. Was not good at all: they didn't even attempt to season the salmon and the potatoes were entirely too salty. The atmosphere is pleasant and the staff if very kind. More of a casual vibe. I likely won't be back, but they were a safe option if you're in a hurry.

Ribeye, red potatoes, mushrooms and onions. Steak was too dry and the vegetables were salty.

Dill tomato soup. Loved it. Mixed greens. Side order. Waitress questioned the amount I ordered and suggested I only get a side salad. Afterward, I mentioned it was delicious and wished I had more. Made me think of the scene in pretty woman, where she wanted to buy something, but the staff wouldn't allow it. The female host was also unfriendly and seemed annoyed, I was offering business. Poor service. Good food. The ambience was cute.

I was overall really impressed by the food and service quality. It surpassed my expectations for a restaurant located in a hotel. It's easily accessible via go train, subway and street car. There are also a few parking lots around the venue ranging from 15-25$.

After a very frustrating travel into Toronto, literally 5 hours from Niagara Falls NY to parking and having to reschedule our dinner at 360, we decided to get dinner here instead. It made the crappy evening so much better. It has been such a long time since we've had a server actually make our evening an event to remember! Rhodina was awesome to say the least! She was super attentive and really made me forget the pain of the traffic. She really took care of us! Food was delicious!

Staying at the Intercontinental for a concert and thought we would stop down at the hotel restaurant for a quick snack at lunchtime, we were blown away by second to none service from the restaurant staff and the absolutely delicious food we received! We had already made dinner plans and were immediately regretting the decision to eat somewhere else after the few items we tried on the brunch menu. as everything else at the Intercontinental, it has a very upscale atmosphere "even though we showed up in shorts and T-shirts" with comfortable seating and plenty of it, a large bar to accommodate guests and as I mentioned earlier plenty of friendly staff waiting to help!! next time we are staying at the Intercontinental we will not make the mistake of not getting dinner reservations! Thank you!! Zeke

The ambiance here looks upscale but it actually is casual dining. Many different selections on the drink menu. I recommend the Hypnotiq Cosmo. Look at the pic posted here. The Salmon was excellent and thanks to our waiter Rhodena Walk-ins are welcome. Come after work or after sightseeing around the CN tower.

While in Toronto for the weekend my fiancée and I were staying at the InterContinental Downtown (lovely by the way) and this restaurant was downstairs so why not try it out? We managed to make it here for a breakfast on Sunday and participated in their buffet. Atmosphere/Appearance: Built right off of the main lobby is this gorgeous gem. It's a wide-open space with this huge angular glass roof that flows right into the windows. It's absolutely beautiful. There's so much natural light that flows in. The seemingly infinite ceiling helps reduce noise as well since all of the voices flow up and dissipate. It's brilliant. Service: Coco took care of us with coffee and water while letting us ransack the buffet like savages. Lol. She was cool, a little apprehensive regarding a coupon we were told we could use, but actually couldn't, but she took care of us and it was very appreciated. Food: Everything you could imagine was on that buffet. Sausage, bacon, salmon lox, cereals, waffles, I could go on and on. My favorite part was the custom omelette station. You could add mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes, cheese, bacon, I mean whatever you wanted! It came out great and was super filling. The fruit was also very fresh and even though we came at the end of the buffet time (7:00am to 11:30am) the food all still tasted quite fresh. Value: All prices in $CAD. The buffet was $29.00 and was totally worth it. It was a bit pricey like some Las Vegas buffets, but the food was very food and expansive. There were so many options. Plus, it's inside a hotel in downtown Toronto. What else would I expect? This place was straight. I'd eat down here on a regular basis without a problem. There were enough buffet choices to have something different throughout the week.

Brisket

The wait staff were attentive without being overbearing. I noticed lots of business people were having dinner here. This is a convenient location that's close to everything downtown. I had the brisket pasta and it was a tad on the salty side but delicious with a good amount of meat. Many times I find that a pasta dish is made up of at least 90% pasta with little else. I had been debating between the brisket pasta and linguine with shrimp and calamari. Next time I'll get that. My cousin thoroughly enjoyed her dip and salumi platter and even took the leftovers to go.

Restaurants located in hotels tend to disappoint. Azure, located inside the InterContinental Hotel, has the look and feel of a nice place, but unfortunately the drinks, food, and service don't live up to first impressions. Service in the lounge area is painfully slow. I waited over twenty minutes for my first cocktail, and even longer for the second. No apologies either time. Breakfast is generally hard to mess up, but the poached eggs I was served had an off taste, as did the bacon. I could barely finish my meal, but still had to shell out about $35. (I know hotel restaurants are pricey, but $6 for a tiny glass of OJ?) Since there are many other dining options in the area, I would recommend skipping Azure, unless you're on expense account and don't feel like leaving the hotel.

My best friend from out of town always stays at the Intercontinental Toronto Centre when here for a Toronto Blue Jays home series. Tonight, after the game, we dined in the Azure Restaurant & Bar; his favourite place since it's right inside this luxury hotel. I really like the ambiance, friendly restaurant staff and top notch chef. Our server Paula was professional and attentive! We began with a Calamari $14.75 and a Mezze Dip Platter $16.00 of spinach & artichoke hummus, olive & sundried tomato relish, roasted eggplant, olives, naan and crostini. Flavourful & amazing! My entree was the Maple Ginger Glazed Trout $31.00 and he chose the Beef Tenderloin $42.00. We both enjoyed the main course! Dessert was homemade ice cream with fresh berries $4.00. An absolutely terrific dining experience !

I was first made aware of Azure by the drop-dead gorgeous Chinese Maitre'D I saw in the summer of 2010 while staying at the InterContinental Toronto Centre, ever since I've been curious to visit, but the appropriate opportunity never came up. I finally got the chance this year during the Toronto Sportsman's Show. The beautiful Maitre'D was nowhere to be found =[ A table for one at 9:00am, I ordered the Belgian wallfles. I was seated at the middle of the restaurant with a view of the lobby rather the preferable view of the restaurant's backdrop. To no fault of anyone because I did not specify where I wished to be seated, and I was alone which called for a smaller table. The décor is very much open concept, and most of the space was enclosed in a window panel against Front Street, the windows rose many stories high allowing for natural sunlight, which is a very nice and rather important element for hotel restaurants in my opinion. I felt that the carpeting and upholstery is slightly dated, and that is as much as I can complain about the décor because its not like they can change anything else. My food arrived and I was surprised to see that my waffles were not actually Belgian. Belgian waffles are characterized by their taller and larger size, and the ones on my plate were miniaturized. Four mini waffles served with more butter and jam than I knew what to do with. I was served a jug of coffee, which isn't unusual, what was unusual was the incredible smooth texture of it. I've never had such delicious coffee in any hotel in Canada! Not even in the other InterContinental hotels! No creams or sugar needed, brilliant! But back to the waffles, I mean I was hungry and these things didn't look like they could do the job. It was covered in pieces of strawberries, blueberries, and other fruits. Check the photo album ^ It was okay, I wasn't too thrilled about the plate which it was served on, those long rectangular ones. Those plates are meant for sushi aren't they? It's difficult to discriminate the service because it's mostly the same in all the international hotels. Very courteous staff, very attentive. Supposedly Azure has live jazz in the evenings? I never seen it passing by the hotel lobby a million times. There's a full bar slightly sectioned off from the main dining floor. It would be difficult to judge to give it four stars having come here only during breakfast, unless of course that Chinese girl showed up again..then I'd roll over sideways on any review website. Need to update décor slightly, need to get the Maitre'D back.

That towering slice of chocolate cake, in particular, is a masterstroke of marketing and pastry craft in equal measure; it draws the eye, earns its reputation, and very nearly steals the show. Where LOUIX LOUIS gives one pause is in the cuisine's ability to fully match its surroundings. The cooking is accomplished and reliably pleasant, yet seldom rises to the level of genuine distinction one might hope for at this price point.
