Overall my friend and I had a great lunch here with a decent experience in service. We ordered the pork and shrimp dumplings which were delicious. When they were brought out, our sever did not bring any sharing plates which made eating these dumplings a little awkward as we were sharing, but we made it work. They were very tasty! Or drinks also came out after we were done with our appetizer. A little backwards, as we would've liked to enjoy our adult beverages with our appetizer. For my entree I had the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl. It was very tasty! I would say there was a little too much dashi mayo, which was overwhelming. I would order this dish again, but would request lite mayo. Earls is located inside Yorkdale shopping mall. It's a restaurant not worth a travel but it's convenient to dine in here when you happen to be in the mall. Whenever you go, it's always easy to make a reservation on spot. The food here is average, nothing special. We've tried Baja fish tacos (not good), poke bowl (very sour mango and avacado being too raw), chicken Alfredo pasta (not bad) and green salads (very refreshing). Came here during a conference with 14 colleagues and overall we had a really fun night. We had reservations and were seated pretty quickly after arriving, which was impressive considering the size of our group. We went big on the appetizers and ordered every sushi platter along with one of each appetizer on the menu for the table. The sushi was definitely the standout of the starters; fresh, light, and probably the best part of the meal overall. The ambiance at night was excellent for a group outing. The place has a lively energy and was loud in a good way, energetic and social without crossing into "club loud." It made for a great atmosphere to relax, laugh, and have good conversations with coworkers after a long day. For my entrée, I ordered the surf and turf with the lobster tail and filet. The lobster tail was very good, but the filet was a little underwhelming, especially considering the price point. Overall, it was a great experience mostly because of the atmosphere, service, and group vibe. The food itself was solid but not particularly memorable outside of the sushi. This restaurant is always packed during business hours. It slow down around 2-430pm. When the restaurant is packed. Expect your meal to be an hour to an hour and a half. I ordered the Strawberry Hibiscus Mule ($8.5), the Yuzu calamari ($20.75), and the Queen Bee Pizza ($24.75) which were all delicious. My one issue with this restaurant is the prices are quite high for what you get and it's almost always busy when you actually want to eat. Overall the wait staff is kind, and I will end up returning on some sort of business lunch. I also appreciate the variety of vegetarian menu options. read more

Decided to order from this restaurant sight unseen. Never heard of this place before but it popped up on a search and I decided, why not. I got the blackened chicken with double portion of broccolini and I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken breast was cooked to perfection and will rested too. It's been years since I've been to Earls but a colleague chose this spot for happy hour drinks and bites. Walked in at 5pm and the place was already packed. I think it's a good idea to make a reso to avoid a wait. Ordered the Aburi salmon sushi press, avocado chips and truffle fries (not pictured). Beautiful, bustling location with decent food! Came here on a Thursday night before seeing a show down the street and it was packed! Luckily we made a reservation and were seated immediately. The location is modern and warm, with a mostly buzzy young business crowd there for after-work drinks and snacks. Our booth was cozy and although it was very busy, the seats were spacious so you didn't feel crowded. I ordered the chicken club which was as expected. The bread was good but everything else was quite average. The avocado was scarce, I could barely find it, it was more of a spread of avocado. The chicken was breast meat and was moist. The bacon was thick and a bit tough in pieces, overall an OK sandwich. The fries were also mediocre, they felt like they came from the freezer section at the grocery store, a bunch of mine were all clumped together which was a bit unpleasant. They were seasoned well though. For the price of around $25 this sandwich was a definitely overpriced. I understand that it's centrally located downtown and in a pricey location but the food could be better for the price. The ambiance is really good and fun and loud. It's a great place for after work drinks so I can see why that's the main clientele. Service was a bit slow and inattentive at time. We had to wave down a server a few times to get our order in and for our bill, but she was very nice. I'm not sure if they're understaffed or just a slower paced style of service. I am in Toronto for work and Earl's is in my path so I decided to give it a try. They're on Open Table so I made a reservation to be safe. I was dining alone and all of the appetizers are to share (too much food), so I couldn't order one, but I ordered the steak frites (a filet with french fries) that also comes with salad. It was perfect. My filet was cooked perfectly and everything on the plate was delicious. I had just missed their happy hour which had great deals but I ordered a ginger kombucha which was delicious and healthy. I couldn't get the white mocha creme brûlée to go like I wanted because they torch it. So I ordered the carnelized cheesecake to go. It came with whipped cream and raspberry sauce on the side and a delicious cookie. It was a small slice for $14 and only ok, but it satisfied my sweet tooth after dinner. Came here for dinner yesterday and had a great time! The food was great and very filling. We ordered the prosciutto pizza, chicken Alfredo with garlic bread, and the fried calamari. The patio area was lovely clean, well-kept, and really aesthetically pleasing. Both our hostess and server were extremely kind. Our server was especially attentive, constantly checking in, refilling our waters, and bringing us extra sauce without us needing to ask. My recent visit to Earls Kitchen was truly outstanding! From the moment we walked in, the server attended to our every need with professionalism and warmth. When we requested to switch to a more comfortable seat, our server was kind to accommodated us. Surprisingly the food arrived quickly (considering how busy it looked), and the presentation was great. Every bite was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. My partner and I got the Cajun Blacken Chicken with warm potatoes and salad. And then throughout our time, the server checked in regularly. Honestly, their prices were reasonable, especially considering the high quality of food, service, and ambiance. Also, they have daily specials for alcoholic beverages. I got the redwine sangria (it wasn't among the daily specials for that day). Overall, we had a great time. This is actually my 2nd time here. We were on a walk back to our hotel after the Coldplay show at around midnight. Absolutely starving and we saw Earls was still open. We waited about 10 mins for a table for 4. Our waiter Gareth was quick and friendly, making sure to check on us often. The atmosphere was fun and inviting. The manager came over and had a chat with us, which was appreciated. I've been to multiple Earls locations before and have found that the music is quite loud, which makes having conversations at the table (and with our server) a bit difficult. That being said, the hustle and bustle atmosphere is a vibe in and of itself. We were seated at a high table booth where we had a great view of the restaurant decor. Most importantly, the food tasted delicious and was very satisfying! Everyone at the table enjoyed their meal from pizza to pasta to salads alike. Gayle and I arrived in Toronto (via Air Canada from St. John's) early, and after checking in at the Hilton, went for a walk. Airline food is what it is and by around 4 PM, we were ready "Linner". At it happens, this Financial District Earl's was just a short walk away. Yet even at 4 PM, this Earl's was busy! The outdoor patio was packed from either an early happy hour or a pregame crowd for the Blue Jays vs. Astro game. We needed to wait a bit to get a table, but ended up with a nice one inside, but by an window. I've always enjoyed the Earl's Canada business model with interesting dishes, nice wait staff, and a comfortable modern and reasonably priced vibe. This Earl's had all this, although service was a little uneven in spots and the background music was too loud. I was also a bit disappointed that a BC Gewurztraminer that was on the menu for years was no longer available. My Chicken Bangkok bowl (picture) was excellent and went well with another white wine selection. I completely forgot what Gayle ordered, but I do remember that she really enjoyed it. And even with the noise and the buzz, our meal was a great opportunity to relax and plan our next couple days in Toronto. read more

We made a reservation and were seated right away. We arrived in time to order from the happy hour menu which is great value. Food ordered was a tofu sesame citrus bowl, a margherita pizza, a prosciutto +arugula pizza and a prawn cocktail. The pizzas were better than the citrus bowl which was a bit flavourless but ok. We were looking for a place to meet with a few friends and this seemed like a good option. We were lucky to get a booth by a window so we weren't in a really crowded area, but it was still very loud. We were very impressed by the service. In my experience restaurants like this are typically pretty slow, but we received our food in a reasonable amount of time and the server checked in often. For appetizers we got Street Corn + Avocado Dip and really enjoyed it, they were quite generous with the avocado so it was a great portion. The Jumbo Lump Crab Cake may have tasted great but the portion was just far too small for $25. It may have been "jumbo" compared to other crab cakes but it's nowhere near big enough to be worth $25. Apparently there's an entree with two crab cakes for $36, so I really wonder how they justify $25 for one. For my main I ordered the Cajun Oven Roasted Salmon and it was very good. I would have liked a little more broccoli but the salmon was seasoned very well. My partner ordered the Cajun Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo and really enjoyed it as well. Overall the experience here was really good and the food was even better than I expected.
