I had previously used B&B Plumbing for water-heater work and viewed them as a company I could trust. After my most recent experience, I will not be calling them again. I called B&B for what turned out to be a minor toilet tank issue -- essentially a failed gasket/seal. When I paid the bill that day, I questioned the charge and asked the technician about the two-hour minimum and why a simple toilet gasket/seal repair was over $300. The final amount was $330.86. I understand paying for professional service, travel time, and labor, but for this type of repair, the charge felt excessive. Unless the gasket was made of gold, I still do not understand how that price made sense. The problem did not end there. I paid the invoice by credit card on the day of service. I then sent a written concern asking that the issue be forwarded to company leadership. After that, I had multiple communication problems. The prior contact I had used was no longer with the company. The general email path did not work. I had to keep chasing the issue instead of anyone at B&B simply handling the concern professionally. Then, instead of receiving a meaningful response to my concern, I received a generic accounts receivable statement showing the same invoice as still owed -- even though it had already been paid by credit card on the day of service. The statement included aging / late-fee / collection-type language. I had to call B&B to get them to confirm that the invoice had, in fact, already been paid. So to recap: I questioned the excessive charge at the time I paid it, followed up in writing, had trouble getting through the right channels, received a generic billing statement on a paid invoice, and then had to chase them again to correct their own billing mistake. The call I had with accounting did not help the experience. The invoice was eventually confirmed as paid, but the call ended abruptly and without even a normal customer-service closing. That may sound minor, but in context it fit the entire pattern: poor communication, poor escalation, and a customer experience that felt careless. B&B's website talks about integrity, customer focus, transparent processes, clear communication, respectful interactions, and courtesy. That was not my experience. This was not just about a $330.86 toilet gasket/seal repair. It was the combination of the high charge, the two-hour minimum, the lack of clear handling when I raised the concern, the broken communication path, the incorrect billing statement after payment, and the poor follow-through afterward. I will not be using B&B Plumbing again. And.... wrote into management - and asked for a call back, nothing, no reply, nothing. Cheers. read more

Request the plumbing guy to come out was great. They come out right away after hearing that i am willing to pay $170 to have a guy come out just to look at the house and water heater for half an hour. We paid them but also request to have a quote on how much it cost to replace a few item in the house within the day. These guys said "Yes, we will give you a few quote on what i was asking to be done". Well, they called me once after 7 hours to discuss about my quote. I couldn't pick up his call during my work meeting. Then, they went completely silent. I called them 3 time to talk to the guy and get a quote rights away as it was time sensitive. I even mentioned it in the morning. I probably should have known better. I guess they don't need my business and just my $170 because it was easy money. Update: The team finally sent the quote today. We needed the quote by yesterday for a submission to the seller before finalizing our total. However, the plumber guy still did respond to our request. Very disappointed in this business, I have used them several times over the years and they seemed to have gotten very greedy. I called them out for a quote and was charged almost $300 for just the time it took to quote me. (about 30 minutes) I ended up having to go through insurance and had to use a restoration company. I was quoted $1675 from B&B and they were going to let me use $200 of the $300 I paid to credit towards it, then I also got a quote through the plumber that the restoration company recommended and was quoted $750 for the repair. Very impressed by Adam and others that came out for 2 separate issues. We had an emergency leak on the weekend and tried to get Fidelity home warranty to come out. We didn't hear from them and followed up several times with no contact from their dispatch or their contracted plumber. Called B&B at a friends reco, slightly hesitant just in case home warranty came through. But within 30 mins Adam showed up. Water was shut off but still leaking from the second floor into the kitchen. Adam was able to identify the issue quickly and had to open up a wall. While he was out I had him take care of an old diverter for a shower. Today they added a water pressure regulator and ball valve bc it was recommended by the home inspector. Thankfully this time wasn't emergency rates. All in all I'm pretty happy with their service. But I have so many inappropriate words for insurance and warranty scams. read more

Last month my Kohler kitchen faucet had a leakage at the hose connection. Kohler informed us about a hose that needed to be replaced, and referred B&B Plumbing as their authorized technician. B&B Plumbing quoted us about 1 hour to replace the hose - fairly reasonable at first. However, things went south from there: the technician got stuck pulling the hose out of the bearing post. He tried a few times to UNSCREW the hose out of the metal bearing post but no luck. He then spent over 40 minutes looking up the manuals online and contacted Kohler customer support. Kohler support guided him to look up the installation and faucet services part diagram but he still couldn't unscrew the hose out. Finally he came to the conclusion that the connection was corroded/not fixable, and we had to buy a completely new faucet set (~$800 + installation). He was at our place for 1 hour and 17 minutes. and decided to charge us ~$300 for 2 hours of labor - completely insane given nothing was fixed. At the end we negotiated down to 1.5 hours (~$220). Now two weeks later, I decided to try a general contractor, and it turns out that hose is NOT to be unscrewed as there's no thread at the connection end - there is a clip to secure the hose to the metal bearing post. Simply take out the clip then pull the hose out (took 10 sec). After replacing the hose, the faucet functions perfectly fine, but I was very surprised that as a Kohler authorized shop, the technician lacks this basic plumbing knowledge and had to learn it online on the spot, charged the clients for the on-site employee phone training/support, and then after all this work arrived at the wrong conclusion. Very disappointed at the least and regretted using them in the first place. If you have plumbing issues, find someone who really knows what they are doing, or save the money and look up on youtube for tutorials. Avoid those who charge only easy billable hours. read more

I went online and troubleshooted with Kohler so that I would have the replacement part on hand, they came and took the very complicated toilet apart to install the part. I found B & B Plumbing via the Rheem website as I was looking for a group to diagnose the issue with my water heater. Since I was looking for someone who specializes in Rheem water heaters, that is why I decided to go with B & B Plumbing. Upon calling them, and many other water heater providers, I knew that Rheem water heater parts were hard to come by and I specifically explained that to the clerk Casey as we chatted, mentioned to him that other guys told me there was a chance I would need a new water heater and only wanted someone to come out if they could fix it. He reassured me that they have parts for Rheem and they could fix it if they deemed necessary. I decided to trust them, worst mistake! They mentioned pricing, 50.00 travel fee even though they were coming from Anaheim to Tustin, how they come up with a ludicrous travel fee price for driving a city over is ridiculous. And he also mentioned a 115.00 minimum hour fee of service which I thought is IF THEY DECIDED TO FIX THE ISSUE. However that is not the case, they will charge you a 115.00 minimum fee no matter what, they should call it a diagnostic fee. Long story short, they came down, they took a look at my water heater, did about 20 minutes of work, did not take anything apart, and claimed I needed a new water heater. The invoice for that turned out to be at 150.00. Biggest Scam of my life, how these guys are in business I have no idea. To pay 150.00 for 20 minutes of work is insane. AVOID THESE GUYS! They will charge you an arbitrary travel fee regardless of where you're from. And a non prorated 115.00 fee, so if they finish the job in 20 minutes regardless of the effort, you're still paying it. Esteban called and arrived on time we were given the hours between eight and 10 and he was around 830. He was clean and hospitable and explain what he needed to do. We were amazed at how he handled every little obstacle he encountered such as needing longer screws as we were having a new toilet installed. I was impressed he could pick up the whole toilet all by himself. The seal he brought was too thin so he just doubled up. He cleaned up after the job and thanked us.
