Got into a vendor bender on my way to work. I filed a claim with the other driver's insurance because it was his fault and he took full responsibility. So I went through Progressive. They sent me to this place. I called them 2 days prior to my drop-off date just to make sure Progressive sent them all my information. The receptionist who picked up the phone was so kind and helpful. I dropped my car off on a Monday. Their office is really clean and looked very professional. I was helped right away by the receptionist. She was very welcoming. I was then seen by Robert, who took a look at my car to see what was damaged. The drop off process was pretty easy and didn't take up alot of my time. The following day, they left me a voicemail regarding the cost of the damage. I'm happy that my car was looked at the following day in a timely manner. I didn't owe anything since Progressive was handling everything. I was able to pick my car up the following Tuesday. Pick up was just as easy as drop off! You just sign some papers and they pull your car out for you so you can be on your way. Robert was the one who brought out my car. It looked like nothing ever happened, I am very happy with the job they did! And you can tell they washed my car too. I'm just happy to have my baby back. read more

What was once a decent, respectable, and friendly company- auto body business, is No longer able to be described as such! Having been a previous, and frequent customer, and a happy one at that, I was appalled by the treatment that I reviewed by their office personnel today! I attempted to communicate with the manager , or the owner, but I was rebuked the young female, Audriana on the phone- she would not allow me to speak with anyone other than her; she was totally rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional to say the least! Apparently the old manager- Konrad is gone, his assistant Junior is also gone, and the owner's daughter-Nikki is also gone!! Did Bob, the owner fire everyone? I asked to speak with Michael, his son, but the girl told me after keeping me on hold twice that he was not there, and after I requested to speak with Bob, I was told that he also was not available ! Who the hell is running the show- this used to be a really friendly and responsive business ! Apparently they no longer care for taking care of old clientele, and my vehicle was going to be an all cash deal- not insurance! Sad to say, this is just another example of a once successful business run into the ground by a lack of respectful management or ownership! Go somewhere else- be aware! read more

Took my car here when it was hit in the front right corner. I hesitated using this shop after seeing the reviews but Progressive assured me that repairs are guaranteed as they are a partner. The same day I dropped off my car at the shop, a truck dropping off parts hit my car again. It left a large dent in my car door and took off the mirror. My day for completion was extended twice and I was not notified either time. I called myself any time to get any kind of update. I talked to the same receptionist every time who was kind and caring, so I blame this on the owner. Each time, I was told something different was happening. The last update was that they had to take my car entirely apart for the programming and were waiting for it be put back together. None of the programming was even an issue when I dropped it off, just the headlight and bumper before the parts truck hit it. I finally got my car back yesterday after a month when it was originally supposed to take a week. This process has been a nightmare. I feel hesitant to ever leave negative reviews, especially for small family-owned businesses. This shop is huge, fixes many cars at once, and this is probably why such carelessness was displayed during my process. If you have Progressive and they try to tell you it doesn't matter where you take your car, do not trust that. Do not choose this shop. read more

I was in an accident on 11/28 and B & M and Progressive were able to get my car in the shop by 11/30 and these guys work fast and great my car was done yesterday 12/2. My car is my baby so I'm grateful for the team they have in that place they are all professional and nice. I had just made my first payment on this car when I was t-boned at an intersection 3 blocks from work (on my way into the office)...so needless to say I was stressed. I'm so thankful the tow truck driver recommended B&M. From the moment I walked in the door, they handled everything...even providing individualized customer service. By that I mean they struck up conversation with me while they processed all the paperwork, and everyone was super friendly. Once all the paperwork was finished, they arranged my pickup from the car rental lot (and that was a good experience too-the enterprise on Cicero just around the corner from B&M). B&M called the next business day to provide me the cost and time estimates. They provided a superior job-not only with a perfect job fixing my car back to pre-accident, they were genuinely friendly and communicated well. The first day we drove the car after we picked it up, the wheel lining (which they had "attached") flew off on the highway into the traffic behind us. This was terrifying and dangerous. Since then, none of the electronic controls in the repaired door have been functional - 4 months later we are still dealing with the consequences of this shoddy and botched job. They were OK. They fixed the car. However, they didn't replace this door guard which was damaged, claiming that the insurance company does not cover after-market products. Fine... But the reason I downgraded them was that when I drove off in the car, I was hearing twinging noises from the repaired door. I had to take the car back and lost an extra 30 minutes while they completed the fixes properly this time. There is also some veiny looking paint damage on the front bumper, which they claim was already there, but I don't think so. read more

So. Had a mishap with my car. My CF (carbon fiber) hood popped open on me, on lake shore drive. Took my car to M&B shop on west Addison. It was my insurance network shop. I checked them out, seemed legit and they claimed QUALITY GUARANTEE so I figured they would do the job right first time or at least fix it right second time. The damage from my hood was not minimal. Roof damage, windshield as well as quarter panels and needless to say, hood. About a week and a half later they called me that my car was ready, only they did not have the replacement CF hood for me yet. As its drop shipped from Japan/China.... It takes a while. So I brought my original hood (when I came to get my original hood, on the way out the guy banged it pretty good against a cinderblock wall, and didn't even offer to fix it...), couple days later, they called me to pick up the car, it was ready. When I came to get the car, it was raining, so I couldn't really check out the car and at 3 am next day i was leaving for Arkansas. I get the car home. Go to bed, wake up and get on the road at 3 am... As I'm driving, my mirrors (driver side and rearview) were shaking so bad, I couldn't see out of them. Then when I opened my sunroof, and the wind was super loud, I noticed that the wind deflector was missing. When I stopped for gas, I checked it out. It in fact was missing and there was tape all around from painting. Started looking around and found it on the back dash, as well as popped off rear column panel. Next day I looked at it in light and found that the roof was still wavy, and the front columns had sharp edges (on the smooth slope part of both columns). Also in the light I noticed the massive amounts of sealant they used on the windshield, like someone put a fat bead of sealant from the inside. Looked horrid. Also left old broken hinges and other parts in the trunk. (thought the shops dispose of that). When I got back from out of state, saw the bottom of my car and something was sticking out on passenger side. I climbed under it, and splash guard was mounted to the wrong holes, and bunch of screws missing. The gaps around quarter panels were all random, things didn't line up. I called the shop, they said to bring the car back, I did along with the list of everything that was wrong. Couple days later they called me back to get the car. When I came to get the car, it looked ok, the sharp edges were buffed off but the roof was still wavy, the mirrors were still shaking, sealant around windshield was cut off from the inside with a blade, and still looked like complete shit. The excuse was that there was nothing else they can do. So much for the Quality Guarantee... So I took the car to a different shop that was also in the network. And the insurance paid for rework. Apparently, they installed a wrong windshield and on top of that it was defective and that's why they couldn't seal it right and over filled it with the glue, and without heating elements ( for wipers) as it came with originally, when they measured the front, nothing lined up, they had to order Subaru Original Quarter panel (guessing they installed the cheapest aftermarket parts they could find, just like the windshield). The rearview mirror stopped shaking after the right windshield was properly installed, the driver side mirror had to be completely replaced, Im guessing they dropped it or hit it, but whatever they did, they messed it up. All in all, it was just under $2800 to repair the mistakes they made and fix the things they did not. would not recommend this shop to anyone, ever. their quality guarantee is worthless as they tend to get upset if you're not satisfied. read more

I own a 2005 Toyota Truck and my passenger mirror was damaged. I took my truck to this location and i was treated very well by the associate. I apologize i forgot his name but he was a male hispanic. He immediately assisted me with the issue and gave me the option to sticking to the original part or getting an aftermarket which would be cheaper and he explained you could not tell the difference, I ordered the part and it came in the next day. It only took them 15 mins or so to install the mirror like new. Good price and good service. I appreciate this, thats why i recommend this location for repairs. read more

I'm a little late with this, but back in 2018 my car was part of a hit and run, and needed the bumper replaced. My insurance recommended this place. I took it in and service was performed, bumper looked good when I came to pick it up. However, they were definitely trying to scam me... There was a puddle of oil under my car and they said it's been leaking like crazy all night. It's never leaked anything so it was weird to hear it. They recommended i leave it with them to fix, I asked for an estimate and what they think it is, they say they haven't looked yet. I said if he can top me off, I'll take my chances and pick up oil on my way home. He reminds me multiple times that I'm a woman and it's dangerous to not know what's happening with my car. I said again I'll take my chances and left. I kept checking on my car and never saw leaks. Took it to not one, but two, other mechanics who said there was nothing wrong and that this was a huge scam. Something to be hesitant about, not sure who the guy was that was pulling this on me, might not be a representation of the shop and just a single employee trying to make some cash. Also side note - the bumper they placed on my car has sub par paint, it's peeling like crazy. I've had the car for years and the rest of the paint is fine, no rust or anything, it's just the bumper (which since it's only 2 years old compared to a ten year old car, shouldn't the paint be in better lasting condition?) read more

GOOD FOLLOW-UP IS KING! Initially, I would have offered up 4-5 stars. Easy. However, it was the crappy customer service by a couple of employees that hurt them in the end. I was recommended by a friend who told me they did beautiful work, that they were a highly lauded State Farm approved shop. I went in, they were all nice, etc. etc. I had to pick up my car on Sat. morning because by the time I found out it would be ready by end of day Friday, it was too late to make work arrangements. I had previously been dealing with the manager, Conrad, who was nice and professional. I picked up the car from another man who worked there. Someone I believe who worked more in the service department. I pointed out that my car looked as if it had not been buffed--we're talking the entire passenger side. This worker INSISTED it had been buffed.But the car looked completely matte and dull. All the scratches that were there before...were still there. It was noticeably different than from the rest of the car. I immediately drove the car to my friend's house (who recommended me) and told me that the car had NOT been buffed out and that his equally as older and equally as scratched cars looked nearly brand new when done. I also noted my side mirror had not been painted as promised. So I called Conrad who gladly agreed to paint the mirror, but kind of resisted the buffing issue because---again--he insisted it had been done. I was confident when he looked at it, he would agree. So I brought the car in again. Had to have someone arrange for my pick up/drop off (which is a hassle) because the insurance loaner had been returned. Conrad kind of grudgingly said they'd buff the car. On the phone he said they'd touch up the scratches with paint by hand too. I called about 4 p.m. to ask if the buffing, the mirror and the scratches painted had been corrected. Conrad did not come on the phone but relayed via the receptionist that they were working on it and he couldn't confirm if they were finished. A bit infuriating, right?? I picked up the car the next day, again, a Saturday and that same Service man ushered me to the car which was already outside. The top part of the side in question was shinier, but there was cloudy film on a lot of it. It was composite and hadn't been properly polished. And what was also insulting was that they didn't even wash the car, which absolutely should have been done because I had to bring it back. He also parked the car very close to the fencing to the stairs by the entrance. There was no room for me to step back away from the car. When I got home and was able to view their handiwork from a few feet away, I saw what they did. Not only did they do a crappy job of leaving composite on the car -- THEY ONLY BUFFED OUT THE TOP PANELS OF THE 3/4 OF THE PASSENGER SIDE. Therefore, the entire bottom was dulled and dirty and one panel of the top. Talk about looking like a MESS. So now I had to go directly to the owner, Bob. Who told me if he felt it hadn't been done properly he'd make right. I met with him and he called that same grumpy service guy out who said, "we buffed the car, I told her." HOWEVER this time the owner told him to his face...if the bottom and one top panel of the car had been buffed out, why were there still rain water marks on those parts of the car while the buffed out parts were shiny??? EXACTLY my thinking. He told them to buff the car, wash the car and polish out the rest of the composite which was still on parts of my car. I tried to polish it out...but there was still residue. Thank God owner Bob has a clue. The car did end up looking beautiful! But again, I had to go to the owner after waiting 35 minutes to ask him what was the delay and he had to prompt the service guy AGAIN to hurry up and make my car a priority. Too bad I couldn't get this resolved in one visit -- not THREE.IF I choose to go there in the future or recommend any one (because the body work is pretty impressive) I'd go directly to the owner and skip Conrad and I would NEVER deal with that guy who worked in service who knows nothing about customer service. And another negative, the car does smell like paint and it's been a few weeks. read more

CROOKS! We took our car in after a slightly more than "serious" fender bender which crunched the hood and damaged the air conditioning compressor. My list of requests: 1) Fix the air conditioner/compressor (we have a 3 yr old - and with the Chicago hear this past summer, can't afford to have a roasted baby) 2) Fix the hood Upon pick up: 1) hood repaired 2) air conditioner/compressor NOT repaired *REASON? They told us that the air conditioner turned out to be more than they anticipated to repair - AND - they replaced the radiator "grill" in place of it. "WHAT???" I asked... The owner got back to me and told me basically to go and shove it...VERY RUDE. He also told me that the he doubts the air conditioner ever worked in the first place! Incredible... BAD NEWS SHOP. Like someone else who reviewed here...shop around. UPDATE: I took the car to another (friend recommended shop) and they fixed the air conditioner for 25% of what BMM had quoted! Don't let the tow service "recommend" to store your damaged car for "free" at B&M...it's a bait/switch and total rip off. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS! read more

I just picked my car up from B & M. I only gave four stars, because they did not do work that was very technical--just replace both of my bumpers. Since they didn't have to do any intricate work, I can't speak to how well that would be done. Contrary to how other reviewers rated them, their customer service was very nice to me. I showed up to get my car, and had brought two new license plates with me that I was intending to put on the car myself. When the woman at reception saw that I had plates with me, she said they would put them on for me, no problem. So they did that for me free of charge, without my even needing to ask. The car itself is in great condition. They did a good job with the paint and the bumpers. It looks new. Be forewarned: this place only takes cash or money orders; it does not accept any credit cards. read more

After realizing that my rear passenger window had been shattered, and my children's toys, books, and video-games had been stolen, I was emotionally exhausted. I loathe taking my car to anyone who I don't trust and that is exactly what I expected when I called American Family Insurance to have them find me somewhere to take my car for repairs. I have had numerous problems finding a reputable automotive shop to take my vehicle in the Chicago area. This was by far, the most pleasant and easy-going experience I have had with an automotive repair shop. I will be returning here for fair prices, work done correctly and on-time, and the best customer service I have ever received in Chicago. Not only did they recognize me as I walked in the door, but Julie was more than willing to set me up with whatever services I needed. They also speak three different languages fluently - English, Spanish, and Polish. I was so impressed. They have rental cars if your service requires a lengthy time and they also volunteered to help me even though my call came in late on a Friday afternoon. I was worried about the car surviving the rain, and two gentlemen came out to put "super plastic" over the window so that no rain would seep into the car over the weekend. The shop was extremely busy which worried me for a while until I realized that it had to be busy for a reason! Brought in my truck for repair and let me say Ivan was very nice. He took a look at my truck and said he would take care of it. Some places will tell you that and never bother to call you to let you know the status on your vehicle but it was different here. Ivan always let me know what was going on with my truck and if he needed info he never hesitated to shoot me a text or call me. They worked on it pretty quick, they received it and gave me an estimate the same day and dealt with the insurance. I really recommend this place. Getting into an accident sucks and could be a big headache but this place took care of it. read more

I ended up at B&M because my car was hit while it was unoccupied and parked on Addison. The vulture tow truck drivers all showed up and I decided to go with the one that was first on the scene (I actually waited until the next day and he promptly came back to get it), who in turn took it to B&M (an approved State Farm shop). I was super skeptical and regret to say even kind of bitchy at times when B&M called for things, including signatures prior to anything being done to my vehicle. They were always very nice and clear in explaining what was going on with my vehicle. They ended up having my car back to me 5 days earlier than expected and it was perfectly repaired and sparkling clean. They went over all of the work they had done with me and happily answered any questions I had. I highly recommend going to B&M if you find yourself in need of a body shop. read more

I just picked up my Prius and they did a wonderful job. I basically needed everything from the doors forward replaced. All the new parts match perfectly. You can tell the car was well taken care of. They're an authorized State Farm shop, which is our carrier, so the initial paperwork took about 15 minutes and they offered to have Enterprise bring me a rental (I didn't need it because we have a spare car for winter). The entire process was completely painless. The mechanic came out and explained everything they did. They also have a gorgeous office staff, which made both times I had to go in that much better. read more

Just happened to be in an accident and a guy comes up to me and says I recommend you take your car to B and M. I had no clue on where to go and once he said it was a State Farm recommended shop I was sold. My car was rear ended and causing me to hit the car in front of me, the damage was really bad and I knew that I was gonna be out of a car for quite some time. B and M did some great work on my Acura MDX it looks better then when I purchased it from Acura all OEM parts and they have a lifetime guarantee on there work. My car was serviced here after a Semi Truck hit me and my insurance recommended them. I was told my vehicle would be ready by Monday and was given a call on Friday that it was ready for pick up. I picked up my vehicle on Sat and upon receiving it, once I turned off the vehicle (the car was already turned on when I got it in, completely fell apart. The seatbelt was in reverse and you weren't able to latch it properly. The computer compartment underneath the steering wheel was messing the "door", a huge whole exposed, they didn't buff an area that was included in the claim, they had painted several spots on my front bumper white (unrelated to the incident & without my permission). I took the car back no less than 30 min later and informed the manager Konrad of the things that were wrong. He argued with me that the key was already broken (which it wasn't), he says that the door to the computer area was somewhere in the car (which it wasn't), he takes the car in the back and attempted to buff the area not leaving the black lining damaged as they didn't provide protection before buffing, THEN he brought my key back and GLUED it together.... AGAIN WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. He stated that was all he could do and now the key doesn't fold like it should. It gets better though.... On my way to Minnesota I hear a dragging noise. Upon stopping, there is literally a black piece hanging from the bottom of my car and had to be removed in order for me to continue driving. Not sure who owns this place but, the workers need to be a bit more attentive. read more

My car ended up at B&M after I had a front end collision last summer. I was skeptical but they did a great job on my car, quicker than the insurance rep had estimated. And my car looked brand new again. Shortly afterwards, the overheat light went on. I contacted B&M thinking it might have been a result of the repairs. They told me to bring it back in and they took care of it. I was impressed with their response and professionalism. Over the winter, someone reversed into my car. I had the choice to bring it wherever and since the good experience the last time, I brought it to B&M again. Again, they did a great job on the repairs and it looks brand new. Absolutely fantastic service. Everyone I worked with was respectful and helpful in every way. They kept me updated along the way and the service was really timely. Upon pick up I had a lot of questions and they took their time to work with me until all questions and concerns were thoroughly answered and addressed. My car looked amazing when I picked it up, you would never the damage had been done.
