The calamari was perfectly crisp and seasoned just right, and the Kaung Kaham--sautéed garlic butter shrimp--was absolutely mouthwatering. Every appetizer was a hit! Entrée: I went with the Jumbo Lump Crab Fried Rice and the Jumbo Crispy Shelled Shrimp. The flavors were so rich and well-balanced that no extra sauce was needed--each dish stood out on its own. Drinks: During appetizers, I sipped on the Nigori Lychee, which complemented all the flavors beautifully with its smooth, slightly sweet finish. This place is rated accurately (3 stars). Truthfully I was underwhelmed. I expected excellence simply because of the aesthetic but that was my mistake. We found this place online and were excited to give it a try. Upon arrival, although the place is beautiful I realized I sat at a table waiting for a server for 20-30 minutes before our order was taken. It was a quiet random day of the week. They were not busy but yet nobody acknowledged us. We finally ordered and got the calamari (3/5) and chicken dumplings (-0/5). The quality was unbelievably mediocre. The dumplings tasted like it came from Kroger and was warmed in the microwave. I wasn't even sure if the chicken was real. It was that bad. We returned it and asked for it to be removed from our tab -- they kindly did so. We also ordered the roti bread (4/5) and basil fried rice (4.5/5). Luckily those 2 items were good as well as the Thai tea. This place got the aesthetic and ambiance down but the food quality and service could do a little better. I had high hopes. From the food to the energy this place gives what it was supposed to have given, OKKKAYYYY! The interior is nice, offering a calm and relaxed environment. The music is low but loud enough to fill the space. The interior is beautifully decorated. Trendy yet welcoming. The food here is top tier. We had a variety of food, and everything was superb. The basil fried rice was by far my favorite. The rice was flavorful and had a unexpected KICKK! I love a good spicy meal. I also got calamari, fried to perfection, and seasoned to a T. The Kung Katiam was the perfect small bite. Very delicious, the shrimp were succulent covered in garlic butter... YUMMM! We also indulged in the coconut cake with coconut ice cream, I don't like coconut AT ALL, but this was amazing. The service is outstanding. I barely had to bat my eye before I had a refill or before our server was checking on us. The only thing that is missing is the liquor. But once they get their license it's on and popping. Parking was a challenge I had to walk but once I entered it was all good. We had a reservation so we were seated upon arrival. This space was surprisingly smaller than I expected. Nevertheless I loved the atmosphere the music wasn't to loud it was nice. Our waiter was awesome and very attentive. Came here with a friend for a Friday dinner (with a reservation) and were seated immediately. This place has a really cool aesthetic and looks very nice inside. We started off ordering drinks, which were good, and edamame, which was also good and pretty impossible to mess up. The service was extremely slow, I would guess that we may have waited about 20 minutes for our drinks... After trying to figure out if our server quit or not, we finally found her and were able to order our entrees. We got those about an hour later (at that point we wish we left!!) and when they arrived to the table, I was excited! My order looked very cool, but as soon as I took a first bite, it really didn't taste like thai food? It didn't really taste like anything honestly. I was pretty disappointed and then it took us so long to get our server to bring our check. After seeing the bill, I automatically understood why the server didn't even try much - there's an automatic 18% tip! As a previous server myself, I would have given our server grace if the restaurant was extremely packed and she was overwhelmed, but all of the tables around us were also having trouble with finding her and she literally just disappeared for long periods of time. Was back in town for a bit and was looking through what restaurants had opened recently and decided to give this place a try. We made a reservation for Sunday night. It would have probably been possible to walk in, but there were still a decent amount of diners there. Wanted to shout out the service again. Our waiter was incredibly attentive, kind, and always there to refill drinks and ask if we needed anything else. (I think his name was Andy?) Items I tried: 1. Tom Kha w/Chicken - Beautifully plated, perfect balance of sour/spicy. Loved it, and if you like tangy soups, would totally recommend 2. Fresh Basil Rolls - Also delicious. Ingredients were really fresh and I like that the rolls weren't too soggy or dry or stuck together. Sauce was a little thinner than I expected but taste-wise was still great. 3. Pad Thai w/Shrimp - Classic and delicious. We got medium spicy and they delivered on the spice. The noodles were maybe a little bit softer than my preference but again taste was great. Shrimp were juicy and large. 4. Panang Curry w/Chicken - Another classic that they did well on balancing the sweetness and spice. Generous with the veggies and chicken that came with it. Ambiance: - I think it fit the midtown bar vibe with cool toned pink/blue bar lighting, fun greenery throughout and interesting lighting fixtures. Could be a nice drinks or first date spot. It was not too loud in there so you could definitely have a conversation. Bathroom were super clean as well. We ordered a few appetizers to start. The roti was so good, they had it crispy and soft already cut into shareable pieces. The massaman curry to to with it was so good! Next was calamari which was good! It had fried peppers in it as well and that was a good touch. The dumplings were good as well especially dipped into the sauce that came with them. Our server was so friendly and made suggestions about the menu and even accommodated us with better seating for our group. The food was not the best Thai food. I actually wasn't highly impressed. I ordered the mama kee mao which was all seafood and I may be ignorant but I was expecting noodles that looked like drunken noodles so I was a bit disappointed (my go-to Thai choice is kee mao). The dish was not as flavorful and seemed to be missing something. The drinks were ok. I was hoping for $17 they'd be just a tad bit stronger but it could've been what I ordered. The bartender did a special "show" for someone ordering drinks for their birthday and it was fun to watch. We stumbled upon this relatively new restaurant when looking at RESY and decided to try it. We were lucky and got parking on the street for $2 for the first hour. No problem...in and out in an hour. We ordered lightly as we were there around 1:30PM. Ordered the Roti Massaman with Curry dipping sauce, the Chicken Larb and the Tom Kha soup with Tofu. All arrived right about the same time which was good. The Roti was about room temperature and the Massaman dipping sauce about the same. Both were tasty. Wish they had been placed on paper towel prior to serving versus being served on the paper. Still, very good and would order again. The Chicken Larb was some of the best we have ever had. And although it didn't look like a very large serving it was more than we could eat. Perfect meld of ingredients and right amount of spice. The Tom Kha(coconut soup) was again some of the best we have had in years. We just kept going back for more delicious tastes. The galangal infused oil just made it over the top. Service was great. Atmosphere was very nice. Highly recommend and will definitely return. read more

The decor is better, very over the top dramatic, but the menu is much more limited. Thee Service. The host was nice but, it took 15 minutes to get our table and we had reservations. I felt we were in the restaurant an hour longer than would should have because the service was slow. They automatically add 18% gratuity to the bill which isn't a problem but, placing it at the bottom of the menu in very small print is . The only real problem I have with adding the tip automatically is that the service sometimes doesn't match the tip. I paid $20 to a person that never smiled and seemed as if she didn't want to be there. All and all it was just ok to. Not a place I would go back to. I did not have the best experience here. I came with a group of 6 and were seated quickly given we had a reservation. They had unique drinks on their menu and everyone seemed to like the ones they ordered. I was not super hungry so I ordered 2 appetizers for my meal - the roti with curry and the steamed dumplings. I asked for one to come out with all the other appetizers and the other with the mains, but I was told that since they were appetizers, they would come out when it was ready from the kitchen because they were so busy. Annoying but understandable. They ended up bringing both of the dishes within 5 minutes of each other along with everyone's appetizers. This is when things started to turn, however. Soon after we all got our appetizers, they started bringing out all the mains as well. We had barely had time to eat much of our appetizers so there weren't many plates to clear and the table became extremely crowded with all the food. It also meant that the mains weren't as hot when my friends finally got to eat them. Everyone ate at varying paces depending on how much food they got and thus everyone finished their mains at various time. As soon as one person was done, they came to clear the plates. If someone looked like they may have been finished, they asked if we needed boxes. This was annoying because it made us fell rushed. They did the same with the checks, asking if we were ready for them while someone in the group was actively still eating (she had only had like 4-5 bites if her food at that point because her dish had been one of the last to come out). We found this extremely annoying because it made her feel like she was being slow or holding the group up, and like she couldn't enjoy her meal. I told them to hold off on the checks as she was still actively eating. Finally, they came back around when she finished eating and we were able to ask for a box and the check for her. When they brought us the check, I noticed that I had 2 lines for tip on my receipt - the 18% mandatory tip on all checks + 20% for party's of 5 or greater - for a total 38% tip! Their menu had mentioned the mandatory tip and that it would be 20% for large parties but nothing about having both! I asked the group and we found that 2 others also had this on their checks (they had not noticed this until I brought it up). We alerted the wait staff, and they said it was a mistake and they quickly corrected it, but it something that we almost missed on our checks that would haven't been very frustrating especially given the quality of the service. Overall, we felt like we were being rushed through the service so that they could get us out and the next group seated so they can make more money. We were only there for a total of 1.25-1.5 hrs which is pretty reasonable given the size of our group and the fact that we ordered drinks, appetizers and main dishes, thus it was frustrating how they rushed us. We felt like we could not enjoy ourselves as a result. As a group, we found the food to be just okay and nothing spectacular. It definitely felt a little overpriced for what it was. The drinks were pretty good though and the decor was gorgeous. Nevertheless, I will not be coming back. read more

Everything about our dinner was a 10/10. It was the perfect place to celebrate our 6 months. Our server was very friendly but not overbearing. She was attentive and always made sure we had everything we needed. The Moo Tod appetizer was perfectly crispy and the Tom Kha soup was the perfect spice level. The vegetable curry and the pad see ew was delicious and filling. The lychee Long Island ice tea was refreshing and was the perfect accompaniment to our meal. The cheesecake was standard, but not much to complain about considering it was complimentary. The lychee and the syrup was a nice touch to the richness of the cake.
