Today was my first time trying Baba Saj... The whole vibe of the restaurant was chill, especially the outside patio, so nice. (My fav part of the experience). It won me over right away. The staff were cool as well. Everyone was nice and helpful. The food: It was good but not great. I ordered the Chicken Swarma Bowl, added a pita. The portion was nice for the price. First time going to this location. The girl at the ordering counter was sweet and answered my questions the best she could. I was there to order for takeout. The guys behind the counter making the sandwiches were straight faced and weren't very interactive even as I was asking them about their toppings-one word answers basically. I waited for my order to be ready and the lady at the pickup counter was more interested in her phone and barely looked up as I walked up to grab my bag. Not even a smile or thank you. The overall feel of the place was not very inviting. I won't be going back. I got 2 chicken wraps and 1 steak pita. The wraps were soggy and falling apart by the time I got home to eat. Chicken Shawarma is great. Take out was 5 minute wait on a Tuesday for dinner. I got just the sandwich with some tahini on the side, yum! Quality was great. It was not cheap meat and flavors were right on. If they keep up good quality, I will for sure be back. read more

We come all the way from Milwaukee, specifically for their Chicken Shawarma bowl and Shrak wraps. I'd say it's delicious and beautifully made, 9 times out of 10, and worth the trip. Been here a few times now. The zatar mini-za is delicious. Their meat selections are tasty and the ingredients they use have always been fresh. I love the chicken wrap combo that comes with home cut style seasoned fries, small pickled mix salad and can of pop. No place to really eat inside but they have a few tables outside. After leaving the grocery store, I decided to get something to eat at the mediterranean restaurant. Walked inside and soon as I approached the counter the guy looked at me, then walked away. He walked to the back end of the restaurant and stood there. Which I was clueless to why and when I looked around so was the rest of the staff. One of the female staff members started to laugh a bit and walked around to the front to take my order, but by that time I realized what I just witnessed, so I politely let her know it's okay I eat somewhere else. A hidden gem! This place has amazing food, tried the bowl before and decided on a Chicken Shawarma today for lunch and it did not disappoint! Tons of food for the price you pay, and hot when you pick up. I added 2 Felafel to my order because they are most definitely the best from here, and I even got a free soda with my meal! The flat bread are also amazing..from the Zatar,eggs and my favorite the meat ones...oh myyyyyy.They are made as ordered..And fresh is always great! when ever we come to chicago this is our stop for some falafel just to snack on & for the road back home we try to load up on the pita bread which we put in our freezer and warm them up in the oven...we get enough to last us a few months & we warm them up in the oven and they still smell and taste amazing.Staff are polite but can use a smile.Vey clean place aa well. read more

The only thing I'd like to say is that, the chicken shawarma meal is significantly more money than just getting the sandwich & the only thing you get with the meal besides the sandwich is fries, sauce, & a small amount of pickles. Another thing id like to add is that the chicken shawarma sandwich alone, should come with a sauce & pickles.. those two things are vital in eating the sandwich itself lol. It stunk from cigarette smoke inside and we found out they don't serve rice with their meat plates. Was hoping for a good chicken shawarma plate (with rice), but no luck.
