This charming spot for afternoon tea could have appeared straight out of an English village, but is conveniently here in Denver instead, right on Platte Street. Don't be confused, the building address may be 15th Street, but the stores on the main floor mostly face Platte Street. The tea shop is near the far east end. There is validated parking in the Parkwell lot behind the building. The shop is cozy and very cute with seating for about three dozen. We visited the day after Valentine's and things were still decorated for the holiday. The staff is very welcoming and we were soon seated after needing a bit of help with the Parkwell Web site. The rules for afternoon tea were quickly explained. Each person receives an individual pot of tea and can order as many different flavors/varieties as they wish to try. A traditional, vertical rack for each couple contains two plates of sandwiches, a plate of scones, and a plate of cookies and petit fours. This is a lot of food. We received three sets of sandwiches including turkey, cucumber, and curried chicken salad plus a bruschetta. These were all delicious, particularly the bruchetta which had a great mix of flavors. I love scones and we received both a strawberry and a traditional one with a plate of ramekins containing jam, clotted cream, and lemon curd. Very authentic and very tasty. Tea service included three timers to ensure the perfect steeping time, a plate on which to place the tea leaf basket after steeping, a strainer for each cup, and a little container to hold the strainer. Just be sure to keep a finger on the tea pot lid when you pour! We were stuffed at this point, so we only nibbled a bit of the chocolate petit four and were given a beautiful box in which to take home the balance of the desserts. We even each received a final cup of tea to go! Service was friendly and efficient. This is a great experience for my fellow lovers of afternoon tea and very authentic. We enjoyed every bit of it. The shop offers nearly 100 tea varieties plus cocktails, wine, and champagne. There's a happy hour from 4pm to 6pm daily. There's also a café menu if you don't want the full tea service and they love to host special events. read more

What a fun place to wrap up my birthday weekend celebration. Babe's Tea Room is a small, cozy, comfortable and bright tea room with an excellent, friendly staff. My daughter had booked the full afternoon tea experience. There were 4 of us, including the 2 Littles, and our main server, Caleb, made recommendations with no caffeine for the kids and brought us 3 separate towers of goodies. He brought the Littles specially sized princess tea cups. Everything tasted fresh and delicious and Caleb made sure to explain each item. We probably tried 8 different teas and he told us how to use the timer on the table to steep each one perfectly. Each tower of goodies had 3 levels with sandwiches, scones and desserts. I hadn't heard of a carrot cake scone before but it turned out to be a favorite - with lemon curd. The cushioned bench with pillows was so comfortable that I didn't want to leave but since they were full the whole time we were there, and it had been almost 2 hours, I knew they needed the table. This was my first time at a tea house and what a fun time. The inside is very crowded and rather loud so we opted to sit outside. It was great at first, but then it got chilly (they have blankets), the wind picked up and dust was flying around since its technically in the street so be aware of that and the weather that day/ We did the 90-minute experience on a Sunday around noon. Mads was our server, and they were great! We were able to try 6 teas and also bought a bottle of prosecco. The tea sandwiches were not my thing minus the turkey. But my friend really enjoyed the cucumber one. The chicken curry salad was a very unique taste. The best bite was the scones! I loved both of them but the plain with some jam was to die for. Delicious. It was $48 to start and then we added a few things, so it ended up being around 70 per person which I thought was fair. Lots of great picture moments here. I brought my teen daughters to the Denver location for a mother/daughter date. Their Valentine's menu that was $60 a person for the afternoon tea experience which tours unlimited tea samplings. It was NOT worth it. You have a timed reservation and service was slow so, we felt rushed. They only allow you two pots at a time and it took a long time for the server to come back and check on us so we were rushing to get in a few more pots of tea at the end. So, for nearly $200 - we only got 5 tea samples and a small tray of sandwiches and cookies. Very charming interior, though this location is much smaller than their Golden one (unsure if I was missing a back room or something) so I would not recommend for groups. Excellent afternoon tea with the girls! I brought my mom and daughter here Sunday afternoon for a little ladies celebration. I am glad I had a reservation because it was pretty crowded and I am not sure we'd been able to sit without it. It's a complete Instagram dream at Babe's Tea Room. We were sat inside but given the change, we would have loved to be sat outside amongst the beautiful flower decor. We ordered the strawberry tea and a lavender tea. The strawberry tea was very delicious and the lavender one was just ok, honestly, it didn't taste like much. The food was incredible. We loved ALL of the sandwiches especially the curry chicken salad and the cucumber sandwiches. The chef was kind enough to bring a sunbutter and jelly sandwich for my 4 year old. The food was bountiful and we had to take several of the sweets and biscuits home. My daughet devoured all of the macaroons - they must have been tasty. The space is tiny but mighty and gorgeous inside and out! We opted for the "tea experience" which was all-you-can-drink pots, featuring over 90 different kinds of tea! Sure, it's $48/person which is kinda pricey but not in the grand amount of the Brown Palace. The menu of tea is SO vast, unique and deliciously creative that we found ourselves stumped on what to order. Thankfully our server, who name escapes me now, came to the rescue! Part of the true tea experience is to have one of their special team members introduce different teas based on style, flavor, caffeine level and taste - pot by pot - until you're utterly stuffed. I tried a sip of my daughter's lavender green tea. For me, it was too much. I preferred the lemon ginger snap. My favorite tea was the blueberry bliss. Gorgeous color and amazing flavor. The tea comes with a selection of tea sandwiches, scones, and desserts, arranged elegantly on small towered platters. Guests are also provided a dish of clotted cream, lemon curd, and jam. The scones were rich and heavenly. The desserts -- tiny cakes, macarons, shortbread cookies, and one other treat were also fantastic. We couldn't eat it all and saved several pieces for later. They survived the test of time and were still deli hours later. The sandwiches were the weak point of our tea experience. The curried chicken was our favorite, but the bread on all the tea sandwiches was already slightly stale when served. Finally, the service. All staff we interacted with were friendly, warm, and welcoming. The place is smallish side with tables on booths lining the walls on each side and a long table in center. The back wall booth is cozy with pillows. The service was great - we got our 4 tier trays of goodies. For st patty's day they had butter beer macaroon and a stout chocolate tart. Also a shamrock sugar cookie and a Funfetti "petit four". Also provided 4 mini scones with Devonshire cream, lemon curd and jam and various sandwiches. Cucumber and a turmeric egg salad one, a turkey with some interesting mayo maybe truffle? And a cheese, my favorite was the turkey and cucumber. I loved loved the scones they were so soft and delicious. I was kind of disappointed on the petit four of Funfetti I was hoping for the traditional petit fours of chocolate and vanilla glazed on all sides. I liked how you could get an unlimited amount of tea pots with this option. We were able to try three different teas each! I loved the variety. Some of my favorite things were the chicken curry (I think) sandwich, small cake, and scones (especially with the lemon curd). Probably being picky but I wish the plates weren't chipped since it slightly ruined the presentation for me. It was a bit expensive, ~$70 a person, so it's nice to come here for a special occasion. My new favorite spot for high tea in Denver!!! We went for my friend's baby sprinkle and the place is adorable and had this incredible energy. It's not pretentious and is welcoming, cozy, and beautiful. Their teas were amazing! Our hands down favorite was the original rose black that they brought out. It had subtle flavors and an incredible depth. We also enjoyed the jasmine and the coconut one! Their service is incredible and they aren't stingy with trying multiple teas. Wow! What a beautiful, delicious place! There was a small situation with open table over booking them on the day we're visiting and Emma had left me a vm the day before to work out a time for us to come but of course I didn't get the message until we arrived for our booking early. NBD though, life happens and we were pushed back by 30 mins. Glad that the ice cream shop next door was not busy and we had some of that before coming back. Emma really took cared of us that day and made sure we felt special. John took care of us as our server and was amazing to work with. Now on to the meat/potatoes - We tried multiple teas and all of them were great, love that they have so many earl gray/lady gray selections and other various types of tea. We really loved the white peach tea... in addition to all the gray we've tried. The sandwiches were delicious but really the star of the show were the scones. Wow! I couldn't stop eating them, the scone were so perfect with the spreads... the dessert were good but most of us weren't pumpkin fans so it was mostly pumpkin themed dessert during our time here. This just means we'll have to come back in another time of the year to try other on site creations. All the food were made in house except for the macaroon I believe... I think they were from a bakery in Westminster. Anyway, all in all a beautiful place to hang out with friends who love flower and dainty/cute things. This is crazy cause I was just there like 1/26/2025. I am not sure if it is closed or not but I was there during that time. For Afternoon tea for two at $118.24 with tax, I am not sure it was worth the money or time. It was a cramped spot, they did have an excellent option for tea, but the food selections were a bit stale - literally. And I was not aware of how cramped for space this place was with a turnover time frame that was reinforced as I was just calling my Uber lol. I had to go to the coffee shop across the street to get my Uber cause there was no waiting space. Here is the deal - if there is a time crunch then have the guest select their first tea or a tea flight upon reserving. That would save time. Also, please have more delectable eats and not so many sweets! This is the same price as Boozy Tea at Virgin Hotel and that experience was much better. Come on Denver. I can tell that the first location was in Golden cause they don't ask for much...but when in city proper- you gotta come correct. Tighten up! read more

I came across this shop walking through Golden as part of a day tour. It was very cute and not busy-I was the only customer. The employee came from behind the display and was not very friendly. They have a booklet with a lot of tea choices so I said "I like earl grey what would you recommend" She handed me the booklet without a word. There are a lot of choices so I just ordered earl gray and a cookie. As I waited several minutes for the tea I was able to read through the booklet and was disappointed because there were a couple I would have tried instead. The tea was good and the cookie delicious. Still a yearly tradition for my daughter and I. A lot of what made it special for us seems to be a thing of the past. It is very crowded even during the week and loud. My dream came true...we got 6 girlfriends (3 had moved out of the CA bay area) to a reunion in Denver for high tea. It was such a heartwarming time to see each other face to face; to laugh and cry together and enjoy each other's company. All we did was walk, talk, and eat the whole weekend. We only made one event reservation, that was for Babe's Tea Room. PROS They have an extensive amount of teas and we were able to drink unlimited servings of any of their teas. The table came with a hourglass timers for different types of teas to get the perfect brew. The atmosphere is cute and girly with lots of flowers, bright natural lighting and airy high ceilings.
