No help whatsoever. i would be very careful when using Babes for catering an event. we had a terrible experience. they say this is the busy time for them, but this is also their business and should be able to handle the customers who they take on. If you're too busy to properly satisfy and meet the obligations of the customer then you should not take that customer on as a client. We are very frustrated and disappointed customer. What a treat! Getting to taste Babe's chicken is really a treat. This place does not have menus and when you walk in, you know it is something extraordinary. When you first sit down, the waitress will ask "Fried chicken or Chicken Fried steak". Each order of chicken comes with 4 pieces, thigh, wing, breast and drumstick. The CFS order was one normal order of chicken fried steak. Since i was in a party of 4 and we're not particularly big eaters, we got two orders of chicken and one order of chicken fried steak. Even with 8 pieces of chicken and a chicken fried steak, it was enough to feed us. I had 3 pieces of chicken myself and a few bites of CFS. There are also unlimited sides. Their biscuits are to die for! There are containers of molasses and home made honey, all for you to drizzle over your dishes. The fried chicken was super delish, however their CFS was very average. Babe's is however one of the special, uniquely Texas, places we like to take out of state guests. The food is fantastic, but I personally don't like the temptation to over eat so efficiently. Where else can you sit down for a meal and the sides just keep on coming? Dare I say not even at home, where there are bound to be limited quantities of food on hand. Not at Babe's, oh no, not at Babe's. The sides just keep on coming. So what's your protein? Chicken or beef? Do yourself a favor, and be sure to include at least one of each at your table. Regardless of the one, there will be enough for all to share, and thus get the full Babe's experience. On this visit we (3) all went chicken, and I regretted my decision as soon as the plate of fried chicken arrived. Way too much food for (us) three. Should have had a CFS in the mix for our out of state guest (my god-father, who lives in CA) to get the full experience. No matter. The fried chicken really was fantastic. I forgot how good. Drizzle on a little honey, or sorghum (a genus of plants in the grass family), and a splash of hot sauce. I prefer the Frank's, though Tabasco is also an option. Oh, and the biscuits, yum! The interior is Western themed, with tables and chairs set up like a family get together The menu is prefixed and there's not a lot of room for substitutions, but I don't think that matters as everything is delicious (I've worked my way through the entire menu, and am definitely impressed with it all) Meals are served "Family Style", in self-serve bowls of Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, plain Iceberg Lettuce Salad with a sweet Vinaigrette and Biscuits. Though I'm not a fan of Biscuits as a rule; these are exceptionally light, fluffy and they don't have that awful Baking Powder aftertaste. Entrees are deep fried Chicken parts & Tenders, plus Chicken fried Steak. All offering have the same basic flavors, but they are absolutely bursting with flavors and even the largest pieces are never dry! The Cherry Limeade is perfect, no need for more or less Sugar. Even at their busiest; Babe's table service is always excellent, and the talented staff may just break into song at any moment. If you have extras to take home; look for to-go "Bags" nailed to the support posts (yes, you read that right).
