This place was the highlight of a foodie tour we took while in Dallas. I don't know that I would've headed here otherwise but I'm so glad we were able to try this gem. We had a great selection from the menu and everything was absolutely the excellent. We started with pita, hummus, roasted baba ganoush, and the sweet tomato. The hummus and baba ganoush were the stars but it was all excellent. Next up was the chicken schwarma. Also excellent with a beautiful presentation. And finally, we finished off with the kafta wrap. Soooo good and the fries along with the harissa aioli were downright addictive. The cocktails are no joke either. The really unique flavors that are imparted by the infused vodka is something you just have to try and they certainly pack a punch. The Saffron-Pine Cardamom Cocktail is not only beautiful but such a unique blend of flavors. Perfect for those who don't care for super fruity or sweet drinks. I didn't think I'd like the Lebanese Night for fear that it would also be too sweet but it was perfect- super refreshing with the right balance of fruitiness and just a teeny touch of sweetness to balance it out. All in all, I loved this place. The decor and the space was so unique and beautiful, the service was great. Definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the uptown area and also pretty close to the trolley route. read more

Alright Foodie Friends! New city. New experiences. If you've read any of my posts before, you know how much I love Mom n Pop places. This is just such a place. It's Moroccan. The melange of flavors are amazing. We chose the Lemon Chicken and the Chicken Kabob. Both were exceptionally good. The quality of the ingredients and the care that went into the preparation process was obvious. The Falafel was crisp outside and just right inside. The Tahini was rich and flavorful. Their garlic sauce was PERFECT. I apologize for not posting pictures, but everything was so tasty, I just devoured it all. I will add them to the next post. This is a must go place. read more

We got to try beef cigars, beef kofta and lamb rack, everything was delicious! Rose wine was great and cocktails as well! We couldn't get enough of Lebanese Night and Blackberry Seduction! Wow. Upgrading my previous rating. Got the Yelp check in hummus...so good y'all. So fresh and so yum. For the meatball tagine. Good, not the best, but the couscous that came with it was excellent. Filling dish. S/O got the burger again and loved it. Now...for the upgraded star... THIS IS THE BEST OLD FASHION IVE EVER TASTED. Yep, I said it. The owner came out and raved about it and we totally didn't believe him but when we tried it? Geez. If I remember correctly, the soak saffron in bitters to get that flavor that I'm dying over. And this is only $10. Very strong too. I also LOVED the other drink that I can't remember the name but have attached a photo of it. It was not sweet, very strong, and so flipping good. This place seemed absolutely empty on a Friday night, which is a shame because it deserves much more attention. Since it was a really nice night in the middle of January, there were a few tables outside smoking hookah and having dinner. The location here is interesting, because if you're sitting outside you are basically on the sidewalk in West Village. This means that you are in the Hollywood of Dallas, living it up and watching all of the people who are better than you walk by. Baboush is worth a shot if you want something different than the majority of restaurants in Dallas. They reeled me in with their free hummus offer, and it was some of the best hummus I've ever had. I came with a friend who was hesitant about how his experience would be because he melts when spicy food touches his lips, but he ended up really enjoying himself. It helps that I am a wicked awesome dinner companion also. The chicken shawarma was outstanding. The hunks of chicken that they used were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The dinner itself was plated in a way that made me want to become more of an artistic person to be able to put something like that together. My only qualm with the dish was that I was left wanting more. It would have been great to have some rice or something on the side other than just bread. We chose this restaurant by chance on a Thursday for date night. There were two seating options, outside and inside. If you want hookah you have to sit outside. We opted to be seated indoor where the lights were dimly lit and there weren't many people. We were given waters and time to review the menu after scanning the QR code. The print on the menu was very small. We had hummus as the appetizer and my boyfriend ordered a Jack and coke. For dinner I ordered the Mediterranean salmon, medium, and he ordered the shrimp kebab. Hummus - delicious. The pita bread that came with it was also delicious. I should've gotten another order of them. Jack and coke - nice mix. You could shoot taste the Jack. Mediterranean salmon - tasted more medium well than medium and it was more of a stew. Mixing both of them was a good combo, along with the squash, zucchini, and carrots. Shrimp kebab - the shrimp were a nice size and flavorful. The couscous wasn't very flavorful but mixed with the green sauce and tomato sauce it made it much better. They had the front door open despite it only being only some 50 degrees. Mezza platter was a good sampling of the various dips, olives and falafel. I've been coming to Baboush for 4 years and this is hands down the best Mediterranean food in Dallas. The staff here truly treats you like family. Randa, one of the servers here will treat you like you're her family. Ask for her. You'll feel special. Henry, is always here...and he'll remember your favorite meal.. and will greet you with a smile each time. The falafel here..is still the best in Dallas. The hummus...creamy and fresh every time. The ambiance makes you feel as if you're in Morocco...or Turkey. Truly an experience. This is the first restaurant I've visited in the COVID-19 era and I was VERY impressed that all staff members have gloves and mask on and are constantly wiping tables, chairs and areas down to keep you and your family safe. Hidden gem! I wandered into this place one day during a day of shopping at West Village and I'm hooked. The tabbouleh salad is different than the usual you would expect but so delicious with pomegranate seeds and arugula. I love the chicken wings and baba ganoush. Very fresh and tasty! read more

I have been coming to Baboush for years now, and every visit has been great. This place is such a great vibe whether you're going for a girls night, or a date night. The Mediterranean decor inside the restaurant is lush and modern. Not only do they have great food selections but they also have great cocktails and hookah in the patio area. They also have a live music as well. Last but certainly not least, the staff is always very kind and knowledgeable. The weekend and days when it's nice out tend to get packed on the patio, but trust me when I say it's worth checking out! read more

Good food. Great drinks. Amazing hookah. This has become my new goto spot when friends and I want to meet up for hookah and Mediterranean food without traveling far. We usually walk right up and sit at an outside table. My only complaint is that this place is pretty darn expensive compared to other hookah/Mediterranean spots around the area. Hookah is $45 if you order food and drinks and $60 if you don't. I know a spot 15 minutes away that's only $25 for hookah. But the service is nice and the area overall is nice. We came Baboush before a show at a Theater. The restaurant was slow at 4:30 which was to be expected. We started with the Mezza platter and everything was so delicious. The falafel was crispy and so well seasoned. I split the salmon with my partner and our friend had the chicken kabobs. The salmon was incredible with perfect seasoning and a delicious tart lemon sauce. The vegetables were well grilled and still firm. The server was so friendly and helped us make our selections.
