I had a reservation for brunch on a Saturday to celebrate my birthday. Although it's good to have a reservation, you could probably walk in and still get seated quickly, there were plenty of tables. Greenery growing all over giving a greenhouse vibe which was so cute. I had read many great reviews about the food but unfortunately I don't think I share the same sentiment. We ordered a few dishes and most were pretty disappointing in flavor, although they all looked absolutely beautiful. The presentation was superb. We started with the tuna tartar which was served with sweet potato chips and that was probably the best thing we had. We got a couple mocktails and lattes, the drinks were not bad actually, quite delicious and they looked so pretty too. For the entrees, we had the huevos rancheros, steak and eggs, the salmon egg benedict, and the coconut chia pudding. We sent back the chia pudding..the coconut milk was a little overpowering. The steak and eggs was good, the steak was cooked well and came with kimchi rice which was flavorful and not too spicy. However the salmon benedict was rather disappointing, the eggs were so undercooked it disintegrated. The huevos rancheros was okay, decent flavor but it was very mild. The service was great though, they were very kind and friendly, making sure we were taken care of. They did charge a 18 dollar cake fee, so keep that in mind if you're coming for a special occasion. read more

Such a cute spot for brunch in K-Town! Super easy to valet park here (and only $15 for three hours, which is a steal for K-Town). I got the Paloma, it was refreshing but I would have preferred tequila to mezcal. I paired it with a cinnamon roll for the table (so gooey and yummy, always a good idea) and a soft omelette with mushrooms and breakfast potatoes. This was a solid choice, the brekky potatoes were nice a crispy. My only disappointment was the service. We had someone who was gluten free and the server couldn't make any good recommendations for her. For LA, I thought this was quite odd, as many places have a dedicated gluten free menu and I would assume that any good chef knows how to handle this common food allergy. Made a reservation for Saturday morning and had a really good experience overall. Street parking was surprisingly easy, and they also offer valet with validation which is nice. There's an Alfred Coffee on the first level too, which I loved. I got there a bit early and they let me hang out by the pool/bar area while I waited for my friends -- super chill vibe. I ordered the eggs benedict with potatoes and a side salad, and everything was really good. One of my friends got the hanger steak (didn't try it, but it looked great). I also ordered a grapefruit drink -- really refreshing. Service was attentive without being over the top, which I appreciated. Only downside for me: the pancakes. We got a half stack and they were like $12 for small ones... honestly not worth it. Also, there's an automatic 20% service charge, just something to be aware of. This place is pretty good. We came here for the Dine LA week. I'm not sure how representative that is of their general menu. This is at a second floor of a cool looking hotel. They do have valet parking which the restaurant validates. I assume you could park nearby on the street but not totally sure. The set menu was interesting. I liked my appetizer of ahi tuna though it was nothing super exciting. The beef I had was good though it was on a weird mash that I later read was sweet potato - and it was just a bit too sweet. I did like the beef which was tender and the swiss chard was a good side. The dessert was really good. This restaurant looks like a greenhouse. It seemed like it was only maybe a third full. I imagine it would be an easy place to meet if you are staying at the hotel, but did seem a bit pricey for what you got. The service was fine but they told us we couldn't split the bill three ways, only two ways. I don't know if I'd recommend for group dining if that is their standard policy. read more

I've been wanting to give this place a try. We finally came since it offerer Dine LA menu. Openaire is located in THE LINE Hotel. There is valet but we found parking on the streets. The restaurant does validate. We had reservations for dinner on a Sunday night, and it wasn't crowded at all. Our server was attentive and helpful. The food was delicious and unique. I can see how people are saying it can be pricey. With Dine LA, it was a good deal. The Tuna Tartare was really tasty; especially with the sweet potato chips. The Braised Beef Paleron was very flavorful and melts in your mouth. It was my first time having the Okinawa sweet potato. It paired well with the beef. The dessert was just right as well. We had heard there was validation, but we realized it would still be $15, so that proved to be contradictaory which resulted in us having to find parking in the congested area known as K-town. Upon entry, I loved how aesthetic and exceptionally designed it was, though it did look bigger online lol. The customer service was decent, but it seemed as though our waitress misunderstood a few of our requests, and there was a bit of confusion. Although the menu had great options, and the food was good, the price specfially for the breakfast plate, was overpriced, and 1 pancake was $6 extra, and unfortunately, I was still hungry after lol. We specifically chose Openaire because they were advertising this Koreatown Gwishin (Ghost) Dinner for Halloween, complete with immersive storytelling, Korean ghost lore, a Daegu fortune teller, and spooky dinner theatrics. We thought it would be such a cool, Korean-themed Halloween night. But when we arrived and asked about the storytelling... not a single staff member had any idea what we were talking about. We asked multiple people and everyone looked confused. Where was the Daegu Fortune Teller? I wish they were present just to tell us this whole thing was a hoax. Lol. The good news: The ambiance is stunning. This restaurant is undeniably beautiful with dreamy greenhouse vibes with warm lighting and lush greenery. The atmosphere alone makes you want to stay for hours. The food and cocktails were delicious, and the special Halloween menu was executed perfectly, so zero complaints there. There was a magician/mentalist performing that night, and his trick actually blew my mind. I'm still thinking about how the X mark ended up on the inside of my left palm even though I was gripping my hands super tight. So props to him because that was memorable and very on-theme in its own way. The not-so-good: Our server felt lost, almost like it was her first day. And overall, it just didn't seem like anyone had been briefed on the event that was being heavily advertised. I just don't think they thought this concept through. If you're going to promote an immersive themed experience, the team should at least be aware of it. Bottom line: We still enjoyed our meal because the ambiance and food truly delivered. We recently went on a date night to Openaire and had a wonderful experience! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by very friendly and welcoming hosts, which immediately set the tone for the evening. The service was excellent the staff was attentive, kind, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. Our server recommended a special cocktail (unfortunately I don't remember the name), but it was incredibly fresh and delicious definitely a highlight. The food was outstanding. I drove five hours straight from San Jose, just in time for brunch, on my first day of vacation in LA three years ago. There was a wait in line for walk-ins, and almost everyone dressed nicer here compared to the tech people in SF restaurants. The rooftop restaurant was located on the third floor of The Line LA. After a 30-minute wait, we were seated outside the greenhouse with shade. We ordered their popular dishes: Ahi Tuna Tartare- fresh tuna with avocado mousseline and sweet potato chips to scoop everything together. Citrusy on the avocado, and the chips were crispy like wonton chips. Corn Flake Crusted French Toast- it had caramelized banana slices on top, and the toasts were fried with corn flakes. It was sweet and a bit crunchy, like eating a croquette. Great for dessert. Hibachi Steak and Egg- The steak was tender and served with Kimchi fried rice and sunny-side egg. A fancier version of Loco Moco, but with a Japanese-Korean flair, California style. The sauce really helped make this whole dish exceptional. If you want it fancier, add the lobster for an extra charge. Service was pleasant. It was too busy on a Sunday. I parked on the street across the hotel with the meter, so I didn't have to pay their pricey valet parking inside the hotel. Overall, it was pricey due to their presentation, but a great way to splurge on special occasions and to catch up with a group of friends in DTLA. read more

The restaurant is beautiful, a bit loud as the glass walls and concrete floors do not really absorb and rather echo the sounds. All the staff but with special mention to Lisa K, who waited our table, was enormously nice. Key, however, was unquestionably the delicious food which not only tasted wonderful, had a carefully balanced composition of flavors and textures, but was also presented optically in very beautiful set-ups. This has been on my list for a while now for brunch and finally had a chance to try it. Disclaimer: brunch is only offered on the weekends. We went during the weekday and didn't know they didn't offer brunch menu on the weekdays. So we ended up having their lunch menu. We did make a reservation but they unfortunately gave our reserved table to another group and we got stuck with worse seats. We were a little bit annoyed by that. Service: 4/5 we did feel a little be rushed throughout the ordering process because the server came to the table 3 times within 5 minutes but rest of the service was great. Ahi tuna tartar: 4/5 fish was fresh, flavored well but the sweet potato chips were so thin that it was not the best chip to scoop up the tartar because it breaks immediately when you put the tartar on top and it can get quite messy. A thicker cut chip would be perfect. The OA 4/5: kind of like a Buddha bowl. Lots of bright veggies and you have the option to add on a protein of your choice. I chose beef. It was a little watery for my taste but the portion is definitely big. I ate half and saved the rest for lunch the next day. Above average meal for their weekday lunch menu. The French toast was our favorite of the two, loved the berries and the whipped cream. Overall, the food was fine but a bit pricey for the portion size. We were actually hungry again not too long after. One thing that did take away from the experience was that we felt rushed. It wasn't super busy while we were there, but we were in and out in about 45 minutes and didn't really get to relax and enjoy the space after eating. Located outside on the 2nd floor of The Line hotel. This restaurants sits adjacent to their pool and in a glass greenhouse structure filled with plants, a bar, and plenty of tables. Really nice vibes if you go when people aren't at the pool as we enjoyed the sunset. Probably good for brunch but I imagine it could get warm midday. We visited for dinner - the highlights were the starters. The whipped ricotta fritters have a nice citrus flavor and tang to them. The squash blossoms come filled with burrata with a pesto style sauce and confit tomatoes. Fair warning the burrata does run out of the blossoms. So be prepared to have a plate ready to pick them up. The flavor was really good on both these dishes. For our main we ordered the dirty chicken and cauliflower. I liked that they used a mix of cauliflower and the sauce gave it a picky but crunchy and sour flavor. But, I personally wasn't a big fan of the chicken which is served as a 1/2 chicken. This is prepared oven-roasted with a crust that will remind you of shake n bake and comes with a salty au jus. Our chicken was very dry so the au just was very much needed, but the sauce just made everything taste saltier. I would stay away from the chicken if I were to come back and maybe try another main or stick with some more starters. Service was courteous and server was very welcoming. Came here on two separate occasions! Lunch: We were looking to brunch and I always forget how many places only do brunch on the weekends so their menu was limited for a Monday. We ended up getting drinks so I got The Bird which was Appleton "Signature Select" rum, fresh pineapple, campari, italicus rosolio di bergamotto, pineapple, and lime juice. Open Aire rocked! What a breath of fresh open aire! This place was chosen on a whim and we were so glad we did it. The atmosphere is everything. Feeling stressed? This place is the cure. The greenhouse vibe is so beautiful and the plants are picturesque. Everything about open aire screams luxury in a non pretentious but calming way. We loved walking into the wow factor being the greenhouse and lovely music. This was a big highlight and if you're going for just atmosphere and cocktails- it should be your number one. The food was good. Not great. Small portions and we were soooo hungry and it was kinda a let down to experience the portions that cost as much as they did. We had the scallops and there just wasn't enough on this plate to call it the price that it was. It was soooo good and probably should have been about double what was served. The veggies and hummus were the only plates that made sense as far as size went but it was clear that the reason this was large is because they're "cheap." The branzino looked like an appetizer and for the price, again... not worth it. Koreatown was serving Beverly Hills prices. The best part was the dessert the carrot cake. This was delectable and perfectly sized. We almost didn't get dessert because we assumed it was going to be so incredibly small but luckily it surpassed expectations.
